Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum Guided Tour from Krakow
From USD 40.28
Overview
Learn the significance of Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum when you visit with a guide who shares stories about its history, its former prisoners, and its survivors. Learn about the complex and its sad past as you walk through the grounds of Auschwitz I and Birkenau (Auschwitz II). Entrance fees and round-trip transport from Krakow are provided, so you can focus on the more important details of your visit.
What to Expect
This Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum tour picks you up from your hotel early in the morning. Hop aboard a comfortable minivan limited to eight people. On board, you can take advantage of the free Wi-Fi and watch a Holocaust documentary, if it’s available at the time.
Once you arrive at the museum, follow a guide around both Auschwitz I and Birkenau (Auschwitz II) as you see the former roads, watchtowers, railway ramps, fences, crematoriums, and gas chambers. Your guide makes sure to tell you stories as you go through the exhibits and memorials, too.
After your Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum tour, get back into your minivan for the ride to Krakow, and get dropped back at your hotel upon arrival.

Not to be missed

We booked the trip before we went to Krakow and I would definitely recommend doing this and do not take any big bags as you are not allowed in with anything bigger than a small handbag. You do get a couple of 10 minute breaks...More

Moving experience that allowed you to experience the actual locations - barracks/prisons/gas chambers etc. The scale of the operation was quite amazing - all designed with Nazi German efficiency to exterminate the maximum numbers for the minimum financial cost and exploit the victims valuables, gold...More

A difficult experience but everyone should undertake this journey

Organisation and driver very good. The film of what happened was shown on route. It was very hard hitting and difficult to watch. The tour guide was excellent, very informative. A long, hard day but well worth visiting.

Re Tony Ts response. Similar happened when we booked. The final taxi pick up time was only confirmed the week before we travelled. The day remained a constant in the booking. Hope this helps.

You generally all go to one pick up point, they didn't collect us from our hotel.
