What to expect
  • Meet your private guide at your Krakow hotel, and set off together on a leisurely walking tour of the city's most important Jewish landmarks. Take in the scope of Europe's largest synagogue complex, as well as Remuh Synagogue and Cemetery and other spiritual destinations like the site of ancient ritualistic bath houses. Enter the historic Jewish Ghetto in Podgórze, once an industrial center, to discover hidden corners where traces of traditional Jewish life can still be found. Listen to stories of love, despair, and bravery as you stroll along Szeroka Street, see remnants of the Ghetto wall, and pause in Ghetto Heroes Square to reflect on the ‘empty chairs’ memorial. Follow in the footsteps of Oskar Schindler and visit several real-life filming locations for the movie Schindler's List. The 4-hour tour concludes at Schindler’s Factory Museum (entrance fee included), where you can browse exhibits and learn details of how this local businessman saved hundreds of Krakow Jews from Nazi extermination during World War II.

We met Monica at our meeting point right on time. There was meant to be another couple but they dropped out so we had our own private tour! We started in the Jewish quarter and saw some filming location for Schindler’s List. We then went on to Plac Nowy, an old kosher slaughter house, where Monica pointed out some Zapiekanki street food stalls. We went back after our tour and would highly recommend this. Then we went past the graveyard and into a more in-depth history of some of the synagogues in Krakow. We then crossed over the river and went to where the Ghetto used to be. There you will see 65 chairs as a memorial. Finally we finished up at Schindler’s Factory where you can buy tickets and continue.
The tour took around 90 minutes and covers a good amount of ground so get some comfy shoes on. Well worth it and not something you will learn about just for a guide book.

There was a mix up with our collection point and the tour itself. So many calls later it was sorted. The guide was ok but gave the impression she had better things to do on a Sunday. Schinders Factory is not really a tour of the factory as it was, it is a museum but has a very interesting exhibition of Krakow under occupation.
The tour is not of the WW2 ghetto, it is mostly the old Jewish quarter prior to the occupation.
I don't like to give negative reviews, but to be honest you would do better sharing the reading of a guide book and do it yourself.
The company offered me a refund of the difference in the price we paid, but it took many emails to get to this. It's a shame as they are very pleasant but it left a bit of a taste after the Auschwitz tour we booked - well my teenage sons booked and paid for from money they'd earned themselves. They were very upset and disappointed with both tours. We all expected more.

Our guide, BARBARA, was knowledgeable and very friendly. We had a lovely time, visiting the various areas and it was a pleasure to have Barbara with us, telling us about the history of the area and answering our questions.

We were met at the hotel as advertised by the representative, who early. She was very knowledgeable, spoke good English and very good, in fact excellent.
We must have misunderstood the program though, or missed something.
We were taken by taxi to start the tour. When we arrived at Schindler factory, we had the tickets and the tour ended. We were told how to get home and and where to get a taxi. She said check with the driver the cost should be no more than 20PLN. We checked with the taxi driver (who doesn’t work for Escape2Poland). He said 75PLN. No thanks. 3 times as much. We traced our steps back. From £3.54 as suggested to £13.27 from the taxi driver. We got a tram. £0.99 for both of us. So beware.
