Your 2.5-hour tour begins with convenient pick-up from your hotel in Krakow. You’ll commence your tour in an authentic Trabant vehicle, the iconic car of East Germany.
Travel to Nowa Huta, one of the world’s two fully-planned Socialist Realist cities, known as Stalin’s gift to Krakow. Track history through the architecture here, much of it driven by symbolism and ideology. Thanks in part to a campaign to build a Catholic church in the city, Nowa Huta later became a site of Poland’s resistance movement.
If you wish, you may upgrade to a 4-hour visit which includes a guided tour of a private museum and a memorable trip to a communist-era restaurant. Visit a communist-style apartment, sample pickled cucumbers, and try your hand at driving the Trabant for a truly transporting experience.
