About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- St_Nick610 contributionsGuide was informative and engagingWe had contacted Real Prague Guides for their Half-Day Private tour. Since we were getting ready for a Viking tour, they included a walking tour of Old Town and New Town. We told Jakub this and he designed a tour for us that took us in a completely different direction. He met us at our hotel and took us to the "Dancing House", we walked along the river and ended up at the Hilltop Fortress of Vysehrad with its cemetery of historic Czech personalities. He was informative and engaging with his tour and we enjoyed it a lot. He didn't just spout facts, he included some personal memories as well. At the Fortress we settled up and gave him a healthy tip since the cost was very inexpensive for time involved. The only negative I could come up with was it would have been nice if we had been told it would be a one-way tour. After walking for 3 hours, we had to find our own way back. However, he did tell how to navigate the public bus system, which for my wife and I was free because we're old. I would definitely use them again.Written 2 January 2025
- Mary C0 contributionsPrague CastleToo much time spent on first stop so we were too late to gain access to golden lane. Our ticket was good for the next day how ever we could not use it the next day.Written 26 November 2024
- RahulMahajan0 contributionsAmazing tour experience. Our tour of Prague Castle on 28-Oct-2024 with Real Prague Guides was an unforgettable experience, largely thanks to our guide, James. His deep knowledge of Prague's history, architecture, and culture made every stop on the tour come alive. It’s clear he is passionate about Prague, which added a lot to the experience. From explaining the details of St. Vitus Cathedral to recounting the castle’s colorful past, he gave us a perspective that went beyond basic facts and dates. James also had a way of making complex stories easy to understand and engaging. He brought the historical figures of the castle to life, sharing fascinating anecdotes about Bohemian kings, emperors, and notable figures that shaped Prague’s heritage. He was open to all of our questions and gave insightful answers, showing his depth of knowledge and genuine interest in ensuring we enjoyed and learned from the experience. Another great aspect of the tour was the pacing. While the Prague Castle complex is huge, James made sure we didn’t feel rushed. We had time to admire the views, take photos, and soak in the beauty of the castle grounds. It felt well-organized, and by the end, we all had a deeper understanding of how the castle played a role in Prague’s and even Europe’s history. In addition to the historical aspects, James shared recommendations for things to do in Prague after the tour. His tips on where to eat and what to explore further were valuable and added a personal touch that we appreciated. For a tip-based tour, the experience was exceptional and certainly worth more than what you’d expect. James went above and beyond to make sure everyone left with a rich sense of Prague's history and beauty. I’d highly recommend Real Prague Guides—and especially James—to anyone looking to explore Prague Castle with a knowledgeable, engaging guide!Written 2 November 2024

- Mamado20170 contributionsEXCELLENT! Do not miss this if you want to know Prague! This tour was FANTASTIC! Vacslav was engaging, humorous, deeply informative, and gave us a fascinating overview of his country’s history and heart. I cannot recommend this highly enough. We enjoyed every minute and also enjoyed touring the Anthropoid exhibit that closed the tour. This was one of the highlights of our trip to Prague and I wish we had time to book another tour with him! I would recommend it to all my friends who want to truly visit Prague.Written 15 October 2024
- W1205FAjillb0 contributionsA Unique Tour with a Good GuideOur guide Kuba gave us a very interesting tour pointing out so many things we never would have noticed - instead of differentiating between gothic and baroque architecture, he was pointing out small memorials all over the city to commemorate the Jews, resistors, and activitists who lost their lives - like tumblestones, death masks, public art and so on. The tour ends at the Memorial to the Heroes of Heydrich Tower which is a fascinating story of resistance and has a free museum / crypt across the road - we would have missed that had we just been relying on guidebooks - and you would pass it on the street and not even know it! Pair the tour with a trip to the Communism Museum and you will come away well versed in the Munich Accord, the Prague Spring uprising, the “Normalization”, and ultimately the Velvet Revolution.Written 6 October 2024
- SarahT45410 contributionsBrilliant tour with an amazing guide!Went on this WW2 & Communism tour today with Nico, who was amazing and so passionate about Prague's history. Learnt so much and am now eager to read Helga's diary and more about Prague's history. Thanks Nico! Most informative and pleasurable afternoon.Written 25 September 2024

- J7017YJtroys0 contributionsVery knowledgeable guideOur tour guide was very knowledgeable. I would recommend using a tour guide when visiting the castle. I don’t think the experience would have been the same without all the history our guide provided to us. The only complaint is that the directions to meet our guide were very confusing and we were late for the tour. However, our guide was very gracious and waited for us to arrive.Written 31 August 2024
- lipstick_90 contributionsA REAL EYE-OPENERVclav's comments during the tour were very interesting. He is obviously well-versed in the Czech history. We were especially interested to hear about the events that led up to Hitler's acquisition of Czechoslokia pre-WWII and the communist takeover of the country after the war. There was also some coverage of Czech popular culture and of the Anthropoid operation towards the end of WWII. Vclav was thoughtful in trying to provide some shade when possible as the weather was hot. We would ask that tour-goers be conscientious about tipping as these guides spend a lot of time preparing and leading the tours.Written 13 August 2024
- 216ernestk0 contributionsHighly recommendedWe really enjoyed this tour! We learned many interesting things about the city and country during WWII and the decades afterwards. The tour guide was excellent. This tour is highly recommended for anyone who is interested in history.Written 4 August 2024
- jerrysQ2133KK0 contributionsVery Extensive 7 Hour TourWe did a custom private tour that included Old Town, Prague Castle with Interiors and St. Nicholas Church of the Lessor Town. It was an all day tour but we only had 1 full day in Prague so we decided to get in as much as we could. We learned of this tour from their YouTube Channel which is very entertaining. So much so that we requested that Valery be our guide, but sadly we were told that she no longer guides. This was very disappointing. The tour was long but worth it. In hindsight, we would have skipped St. Nicholas Church and focused more on WWII/Cold War sites. Our guide, Jan, was very well educated in architecture and Prague’s history. He also made sure we were in prime position to witness the changing of the guard ceremony, which we were not expecting. We also wanted to tour the Jewish Quarter but didn’t get to due to a religious holiday. It would have been nice to have known that ahead of time. Overall it was well worth the expense. I would not recommend as extensive of a tour all in one day as it was very tiring. If we had the time, we would have spread it out over two days and as I mentioned above, included WWII/Cold War sites. Our only complaint was that we were expecting the guide to accept payment via card or PayPal as we were told the guides accept both for payment. Lucky for us, he took Euro as payment.Written 6 July 2024

- trimunog0 contributionsA 2 hour glance of the past 1200 years. Our tour guide's name was Dana. A lady who worked for many years at the castle itself and (I believe) an art historian by profession. She was very well prepared for the walkabout and was very informative. Her English excellent. The tour encompasses a variety of buildings in the complex, but also a historical period of previous 1200 years. Do yourself a favor and brush up on European history of the middle ages before taking the tour. Many things will be much easier to understand.Written 8 May 2024

I, along with my family had the pleasure of experiencing a tip-based tour of Prague led by Real Prague Guides on 26-Oct-2024, and it was truly one of the highlights of my trip. Our guide, Petr, was fantastic. Not only was he incredibly knowledgeable about the city’s history, architecture, and culture, but he also had a witty, engaging style that kept the entire group entertained from start to finish.
The tour covered many of the must-see spots around Prague, including Old Town Square, the Astronomical Clock, Charles Bridge, and a few hidden gems that we would have missed on our own. Petr had a knack for bringing the city's rich history to life, weaving in stories about medieval times, communist rule, and Czech legends, all with an added touch of humor that kept things lively.
What made the experience particularly enjoyable was Petr’s ability to adapt his storytelling style to fit the group’s energy. He encouraged questions and had a fun, laid-back approach, making everyone feel welcome. Despite the tour being tip-based, there was no pressure to rush or upsell; Petr’s genuine love for Prague and passion for sharing its stories were clear from the start.
I’d highly recommend Real Prague Guides, especially if you’re looking for an informative yet relaxed and entertaining way to explore the city. And if you’re lucky enough to get Petr as your guide, you’re in for a treat!

Our guide was Daniel and he was fantastic. A really great way to see the city and get your bearings, I would recommend doing it at the start of your visit to Prague as it gives you a great idea where you want to spend your time during your stay. Daniel was so proud of his city and explained the history in a really interesting way. He was very passionate about his city and made the whole walk so enjoyable. It’s 2 hours 45 mins which goes really quickly and at a good walking pace. It’s great that you pay a tip for the tour based on what you think it was worth at the end. I would highly recommend.

This tour is a great option for people who want to see the city and find out about its rich culture and heritage, but are priced out of the more expensive options which do not offer as good a service. Our guide Kamil was knowledgable, passionate and informative and he engaged the group throughout the tour. His dry humour matched ours (we’re Irish!) and he gave an in-depth, honest background to all of the sites we visited. He provided helpful links for additional things to see and do after the tour and did not pressure anyone for payment at the end. We would recommend this tour to anyone.

I joined this tour as the first thing I did in Prague, and it helped me get an overview of the city, visiting many of the famous sites, and the tour guide gave us a few hints about other things to do and see in Prague. Even after splitting into two groups with two guides, I was in a large-ish group of about twenty people. There are many other walking tours in Prague stopping at the same buildings or street corners, and some streets are so busy and noisy, that it felt a bit crowded, that we were getting in the way of other people. I would have preferred to skip a couple of the very well known spots like the astronomical clock (that I knew about and could visit myself at a quieter time) and visit a few more lesser-known spots instead, that only locals know about.

Camil gave a very informative and entertaining tour and provided insights into the history and cultural aspects of Prague. I would definitely recommend it! Even my friends, who were initially skeptical about city tours, were enthusiastic. Since Camil gives great tips for other things to do in Prague, we recommend taking the tour at the beginning of your stay.

This is definitely the way to tour a city and I hope more cities provide these types of walking tour where you pay what you feel is the worth.
If you find yourself heading to or in Prague then look up this 100 tour company and look for Katerina you will not be disappointed

Fantastic tour and our tour guide Lucie was brilliant. She was knowledgeable and also had visual aids which were a great added bonus! Would recommend to everyone as it gives you ideas of where to explore in Prague and allowed us to learn more about the city and plan additional things to see on our trip too. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Thank you!

Although we were only in Prague for a short time, we were delighted with the architecture, history, culture and beauty of the city. If you don't have time to explore the city for too long, I definitely recommend a Tip-based tour. Our guide Kuba made a real effort to convey and present the Czech (Prague) culture and people in a simple and entertaining way. All recommendations!

We had Edith for our Old Town Tour of Prague. Not only historically informative but she gave excellent local tips for us including cheap local eateries, shopping, theatres & money exchange. Make sure you go to a Theatre Show. We saw a modern take of Much Ado About Nothing at the Estate Theatre after the tour for 250kc 👍. Definitely recommend these tours.
