What to expect
  • Meet your guide and group of 15 or fewer in central Prague. Then, set out to uncover one of the city’s darkest chapters — the Nazi occupation of WWII. Czechoslovakia was pivotal to the war and Nazi Germany’s strategic aims. As you walk and talk, see sites and buildings associated with the 1939-1945 occupation, learning how and why it happened and about daily life under Nazi control. Pause at squares that presided over parades and protests, and see where Czech resistance fighters hid and plotted against the occupiers. Hear about the brave individuals who risked their lives to help Prague’s vulnerable, and learn about a key event: the assassination of Nazi security head, Reinhard Heydrich, in 1942. Discover how paratroopers were flown in to kill the ‘Butcher of Prague,’ and the details of the daring assignment, codenamed ‘Operation Anthropoid.’ Plus, follow in the footsteps of the freedom fighters of the 1945 Prague Uprising: learning about the barricades and subterfuge that helped bring the occupation to an end. Visit St. Cyril and Methodius Church, a place that hangs heavy with the Nazi response to Heydrich’s assassination. See the exhibitions and photos on display. Your tour concludes in central Prague.

Fantastic personal tour with Peter
Mar. 2020
My boyfriend and I were the only people on our tour with Peter, who made the tour personal and informal. He was very enthusiastic and passionate about the history of Prague and Czechia during the Ware. We learnt so much from Peter about Prague before, during and after the war, and particularly about Operation Anthropoid. Peter welcomed questions and answered them very well. He showed us photographs on his iPad of Prague during the war and took us to buildings of historic importance. We saw parts of the city we would not have discovered on our own. We ended in the crypt where Operation Anthropoid ended. Over all the tour was extremely informative and well structured. Peter was brilliant, I could not fault the tour and it was definitely good value for money.

A lot of information at the start but put things into context. Church was closed but still possible to look in and smaller than I expected. The crypt was very moving and just how I expected it. Rather a long walk to get to it though. Excellent guide, Jacob, I think was his name, and great value.

Full of Insider tips and very touching
Jan. 2020 • Couples
This tour was really amazing, it is in my opinion very well structured and our amazing guide Petr was very open and answered all of our questions. You get to know spots in the city a tourist would never find. He even gave us some extra historical information that were not related to the war. It is 3 hours as it says, and I thought it would be really long but it wasn't, time flies because it's really interesting. Petr gave you a lot to think about and always explain many theories and not always only one. I personally love that because we can not know what exactly happened. He speaks perfectly English so everybody understands. I would recommend this tour because it was really interesting and touching. If you are interested in history and even only watched a few movies as Operation Anthropoid you will have the feeling of going thru it.

Thank you Petr and hope you all enjoy it as much as I did.

Amazing tour
Jan. 2020 • Couples
Our tour was amazing. Our guide Petr was really kind and the tour was the best. All that he talked to us about and all the places he showed us were really interesting and fascinating. He knows a lot about Prague, about the WWII and about the operation Anthropoid. He is a native from Prague and he speaks very good English. The tour was awesome. We would 100% recommend it if you love history and if you want to know more about Prague.

Very knowledge guide
Nov. 2019 • Couples
Václav was a very informative guide. Much of the tour is based around the events following the assassination of Heydrich and it really brings to life the horrors of the time by seeing where these events happened. The tour ended at the small church museum but time was tight to see the display as it closes at 5. Václav has a very strong accent so it is essential to concentrate and listen very carefully. We are very glad we did the tour and would recommend it to anyone with an interest in history!

Excellent Czech WWII/ Anthropoid Walking Tour
Jakob was an excellent tour guide. He gave us so much good information on the war as it pertained to Czechia as well as the Anthropoid mission. I loved it!! The tour was three hours; the hardest part for me was the standing, not the walking. I recommended this tour to several others already.

Great Tour
Oct. 2019
Petra was wonderful. She really put history and everything into perspective during the 1930's and mid 40's during the Nazi take over. The 3 hour tour was very informative and she showed us a lot of important history sites that we had already walked by and did not take note. Highly recommend this tour and the story of the 7 paratroopers who tried to help liberate the country.

Great Tour
Sep. 2019
I have been on numerous WW1 and WW2 historical tours all around Europe and this was up there with the best. Petra our guide was very friendly and really knew her subject. She explained the build up to the war and its effect on Czechoslovakia, the main focus of the tour was operation Anthropoid which was very informative. The only way I think it could be improved would be to visit the site of the assassination, which I believe was a bit to far out to fit in, All in all a great tour by a very good guide, which is suited to both knowledgeable historians and people who do not know anything about the incidents that happened in the country at the beginning of the war.
