Great historical knowledge and context to some sights you may wish to return on your own to visit. Thank you so much! A coincidental side bonus we got to see the Arch Bishop of Prague and Anna’s dad. 😊Written 9 December 2024

- 264samyag0 contributionsExplore Prague Terezin Fortress and Concentration CampMy husband, daughter, and I wanted to learn more about Terezin and opted for the Explore Prague Terezin Fortress and Concentration Camp tour. Our tour guide, Honza (Jack), was amazing! We were running late the morning of our tour and Jack pivoted meeting us at the train station to ensure we were able to start our tour on time. Jack was extremely knowledgeable about Terezin before and after WWII answering all of our off the wall questions. He was able to educate us on the purpose of Terezin and what really occurred there. He brought the story to life for us through the information and photos he shared. It is a somber subject and Jack treated it respectfully. Jack was also able to lighten the mood when the time was appropriate. We saw so many places and learned so much. Thanks Jack for a wonderful experience!Written 15 November 2024
- spider1240 contributionsInformative and enjoyableFantastic insight into the history of Prague brought to life by Honza (Jack) who's passion was evident throughout. Not only was he able to offer insight into the history he was able to answer all questions posed. This tour shows you parts of the city that you may not see otherwise as a tourist and which you can later explore. There are many trips on offer ( just like this one) but I would recommend you consider this particular oneWritten 4 November 2024

The hero’s and the villains. He answered questions with ease and made us feel as though he were a friend rather than a guide. Highly recommend.Written 30 October 2024

Our guide Jack was supremely knowledgeable about the history of the fortress before and during the war as well as the full history of WW2. We walked a bit around Prague and saw the Gestapo headquarters and other important landmarks before boarding the train to Terezin. Be prepared for about 17,000 steps for the day long trip. Our guide Mike gave us an unforgettable, 3 hour, non-stop tour of a large swath of important sites in Prague. Mike had incredible knowledge on the history of the city and of the sites we visited and had at hand interesting stories for us. As an experienced, 6 year tour guide, Mike showed us his city through a new lens. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in learning about the beautiful history of Prague.

We all really loved the itinerary of this tour and saw much while on it. However, on the day in December that we booked the tour, the St. Vitas Cathedral was having mass and we only had 15 minutes for our tour guide to show us all the nuances of the cathedral. We had to wait in the long line trying to enter the cathedral which took an additional 20 minutes out of our tour. Once in the cathedral, the ushers were harassing our guide to leave. It was a very uncomfortable situation. Our guide was wonderful, overall. We would have liked to tour the cathedral much more. Very disappointing for our family of five. BTW, we were the only ones to tip our guide at the end of the tour. Please don't forget to tip these workers. They really do deserve it.

Thoroughly enjoyed the tour with Michal. He is very knowledgeable of the city's history, culture and arts. We visited beautiful parts of the castle and learned lots of interesting facts that we would not otherwise be able to find ourselves in such a short space of time. Also visited churches, interesting buildings and streets and he brought those to life with the stories about the relevant time periods. Cannot recommend this tour enough. We were very happy with the tour and did both this one and the one of the Old Town, New Town and Jewish Quarter with Michal. 100% recommend for people who are interested on learning about the city and do not have many days to visit.

I cannot say enough positive things about our tour guide Michael. He knew everything there was to know about Prague. Not just what was on the script about the various sites along the tour route, but about anything that the tour guests asked him. He provided really comprehensive, insightful answers to everything. One guest even asked him what is the most popular soft drink in the Czech Republic and he gave us a whole history about kofola.
I have been on several other tours while in Europe, and this was the best. Just enough time in each location, and the perfect tour guide.
Only one minor suggestion. I recommend letting guests know in advance they will be required to purchase a tram ticket. It was a minor expense, but would’ve been helpful to know. Perhaps it was noted somewhere and I missed it.

Mike our guide was excellent the headsets provided were v helpful and the tour content was really interesting BUT this is a long tour with lots of walking and needs a better break built in. We only had one comfort break in 3 hours at the castle toilets where you had to pay cash. Hardly anyone had change and so some had to leave early. The castle toilets were near the cafe so suggest including the fees in the tour along with the ticket plus few minutes to get a drink or short rest. This is a long tour so by the end it felt pretty gruelling which was a shame as Mike did a great job.

Dear traveler,
we're glad you had a good time on your tour. Regarding the tour's path - it is in fact quite a short distance covered during the walk, it just takes time to go through all the buildings. We also suggest that if travellers need more than just one bathroom break in 3-hour duration of the tour, they should always ask their guide. We'll be happy accommodate. When it comes to "rest stops" - it is a thing which is extremely personal. If we put more breaks in, young people would complain the tour was too slow. If we skip them completely, older people would complain it was too long without any stop. That's why we're trying to have at least one short stop. Lastly, yes, public toilets are always paid in most of European countries so it is always good to keep a spare change.

A brilliant walking tour. Our guide, Michal, was friendly, extremely knowledgeable and looked after us all really well. His English is fluent and his voice carries well. We started off in the Old Town Square near the astronomical clock (this tour doesn’t include an explanation of the clock) and walked to get the tram. Michel helped us all negotiate paying. The tram took us to the castle where Michel collected our tickets (included in the price) and we visited the inside of the cathedral and various other rooms. There was time outside to take pictures of the panoramic view of the Lesser Town then we made our way to Charles Bridge where the tour ends. Michal had plenty of interesting things to tell us at various points throughout the journey and was an excellent guide.

The great thing about guided tours such as these is that not only do you get to see the highlights of the city in question but the hidden gems as well. Not only that, being a walking tour you get to see and learn so much more than if you were on a hop on/hop off bus tour. This tour was no exception.
Our guide was Martin who knew his subject inside out and who was happy to field as many questions as one could throw at him. No subject was off limit. His enthusiasm and love for Prague past, present and future was palpable and his sense of humour helped to communicate this to those of us lucky enough to be part of his tour. Advertised as 3 hour tour, Martin guided and entertained us for a full 4 hours. Worth every penny.

We had a great time on our tour, seeing a good chunk of the beautiful Prague in the sunshine! Our guide Honza (Jack) was superb - very entertaining, clearly spoken, and knowledgeable - he even gave us some recommendations for good and affordable beer and restaurants in the city. Děkuji Honza!

Mike (Mike23) is a fantastic tour guide. The tour was extremely informative, interesting and Mike led all of us at a good pace and expertly navigated the crowds. This is a great tour to cover a lot of ground in a short time yet getting a good feel of the castle, chapels and Lesser Town area. Highly recommend!

This was a fantastic way to see Prague! Our tour guide Anna was very thorough and very personable—she really made us feel welcome and engaged with the city. You get to see a lot of Prague’s history while also getting an insight into what makes the city so unique and original. Would highly recommend for anyone looking to get to really deeply know Prague at its heart.

Is there a lot of steps climbing or steep slopes that we need to go up? I'd be with my 74-year-old mum... She's ok with walking but is challenged when it comes to climbing. A few steps here and there are fine...just not prolonged stairs or slope climbing. Will be great if someone who has gone on this tour before can help share his/her experience! Thank you!

Well, when we were there my wife was 73, and I was 78 with bad knees, but we made it. I don't remember lots of steps (you do take the subway), but there was a long incline down at the end of the tour. Yes, we were tired, but we thought it was well worth it. Also, we ate at a local resturant ( Baroq 1708... I think it was called) a few blocks from the painted wall at the end of the tour, and it was very good. It was near the end of the Charles bridge. Not sure this helps, but as we found out, in Europe there is a lot of walking.

The tour we signed up for was sadly cancelled due to the Castle in Prague closing for the day. I would like to request a refund.
Written 10 July 2023
If you signed up for a tour and it was cancelled, the tour operator should automatically refund your purchase. One way or the other, contact the operator. I have had tours cancelled, most recently in Vienna, and although, the operator did not provide much notice about the cancellation, they issued a refund immediately—and I did not have to request it.

Hello, I was really hoping to sign up for this tour on either June 14th or June 15th but I am traveling alone. It is saying it is a 2 person minimum but I really want to be a part of the tour, is there any way I can do this?

It’s a group tour so should be fine as open to anyone.

Hi, 2 of us arrive on a train at 1.26pm 21st May and was wondering if there would be enough time to drop luggage to accomodation, which is near the station and get to the meeting point in time.

If your tour starts at 2 PM, it might be a little tight. Have you received the rendezvous point for the tour to begin? And have you figured out how close it is to your hotel?
