Overview
See the medieval town of Kutna Hora on this 5-hour trip from Prague. Led by an expert guide, travel by comfortable coach to explore the 13th-century area known for its silver mines. See the famous bones inside Sedlec Ossuary and the UNESCO-listed St Barbara’s Cathedral. After soaking up the history, architecture and culture of this unique town, you'll be driven back to Prague.
What to Expect
During the Middle Ages, the silver mines of Kutna Hora brought fame to the lands of the Czech Crown, making this town the richest and most powerful in the region. Today, the mining town boasts several UNESCO-listed sites and retains its medieval architecture, history and heritage.

Your 5-hour tour will begin with pickup in central Prague. Hop aboard your coach and begin the journey toward Kutna Hora.

Upon arrival, follow your guide to discover the area’s top sites. Admire the Gothic design of St. Barbara's Cathedral, dedicated to the patron saint of miners, and now a World Heritage Site. Stop at the former royal mint that once manufactured Prague groschen and gold ducats. You’ll also visit the Sedlec Ossuary, also known as the 'bone church,' a small chapel estimated to display the skeletons of 40,000 to 70,000 people, each arranged artistically to form the chapel’s décor.

Your tour will conclude with transportation back to your original departure point in Prague.

Mostly a waste of a morning

It was a beautiful day but we wasted extra time in travel due to road works. The guide sure did not help with a monotone voice that barely flipped from language to language. She spent as much time in Russian for 2 visitors as she...More

Terrific day

We had V as the tour guide and he was very knowledgeable with a great sense of humour. I would recommend him for a tour guide. Great day

Very disappointing

We went on a Martin’s tour through Viatour. The guide did not speak English very well and was trying to relay 3 different languages (French, English and Czech). When we arrived she did not get the group together and tell us how long we had...More

Kutná hora

Great trip. Guide was very nice with the exception that when she says it’s time to go, you’d better be there. Great sights.

Why the rush?

This is a good tour. The places we visited are very much worth seeing and our tour guide was very knowledgeable. Our experience was marred, however, by the fact that the tour seemed unnecessarily rushed. Is there some reason I am unaware of that we...More

We did the tour that departs at 9.30am and we were back in Prague at 3pm. It is the same bus all day so I don't see why you couldn't leave a bag. It is only a minibus though, so no space for a big suitcase.

I agree with the previous response. The town where the church is located is not far, maybe 30-40 minutes and the views are amazing. If you are adventurous it is an easy train ride too.
