We all behaved in with our bums on seat bus! Fun and good memory of excursion
We selected this excursion as we arrived on Port with ovation of the sea cruise, and our driver is parked just as you come off the port terminal. Driver went through the city and the whole trip he was very informative with what we were seeing . The bus was full and the trip was good . I m not the best passenger in a car or bus ,but he drove safely and slow which I liked . We visited the German little town handhorf, and the whole street both side is full of shops. It has cafes , pubs , lots of food and many variety shops . If you want to buy a cookoo clock ,one shop has so many various styles to buy . Great little town to visit. Our last stop before returning to Port was (Beerenberg) where you can pick your own strawberry ( but we did not have time for this, but lots of jams to buy. I bought 2 jars of fig and cinnamon jam . Yum! We really enjoyed the whole experience ,thank you to our driver for making it a memorable day. Veronique

      Private tour of the Barossa
A fabulous full day trip from the cruise ship. We were a party of 4 adults. Our car was a late model Kia Carnival with complementary water and tissues. Our driver Amit was a great driver and friendly. I had picked a number of stops (Whispering Wall, Mengler’s Hill Lookout and Sculpture Park, Barossa Chocolate Factory, Perennial Gardens, Delikatessen, with bonus stops at Seppeltsfield jam factory, and Chateau Tanunda as we had extra time up our sleeves). Bums on Seat were good to deal with and easy to contact.

      PERFECT B'DAY PRESENT
I booked a trip with Bums On Seats to the Barossa Valley as a present for my Mother's birthday. We both could not be more impressed with the outstanding service we received from our driver Jeff. He was so knowledgable about the area, and went above and beyond to make the day fantastic for us all, he even made a stop off in Tanunda to buy a bag of fruit chocs for us all to try. Our itinerary went as follows - Maggie Beer's Farmshop - Barossa Valley Chocolate Company - Chateau Yuldara - Lunch At Kies Family Winery - Hahndorf Thankyou Jeff for making our day so wonderful.

Barossa Wine Tasting and Hahndorf Tour
Great tour providing a segway into the wine industry and history of this famous region. Our informative tour guide enhanced the experience with many quirky facts and knowledge of the various winemakers. The wine tasting and food was generous along with good opportunities to explore within the Hahndorf town. Highly recommend the one day tour for those wanting a taste of lovely wines and history of the Barossa.

      What a Day!
What a great day! Deep our fabulous driver made the trip special! He rang when he was 10 minutes away to confirm where to meet etc and was very welcoming. The group we were with were all lots of fun and with Deeps commentary and laughs we were all soon laughing and enjoying the scenery. Maggies Beers was stop 1 and what a beautiful farm it is. Next stop a Chocolate Factory then onto Chateu Tunnunda (not sure of spelling) and Then Kie's Winery for lunch and more tastings. Final stop for the day was Hahndorf and a wander through town, before boarding the bus for the journey back to the hotel. (After buying a thankyou gift for Deep. ) At first, we were unsure about doing a whole day trip, but we are so glad we did it and realistically it could have been longer to see more. Thanks Bums on Seats for the hospitality.

Highlights of Australia with Adelaide Extension
We had a lovely time for the most part on this trip. The guide was informative, chatty, charming and was well organised for all trips. We learned a lot about Australia. The downside was other travellers. There were 30 of us on this tour. 5 Canadians, 1 Scottish person and the rest Americans. Most of the travellers were wonderful. Really enjoyed their company. At one point, we were asked by one of the bus drivers where we were all from and an American traveller said we were all from the U.S. No thought about the rest of the travellers!! The bus driver proceeded to give his presentation, as if we were all Americans!!! That was the first problem. The next thing. Same people. Hogged the front seats throughout the trip. People were mentioning to us that they would have liked a chance to get a view of the country from the front. I was in complete agreement with them. The tour guide should have asked people at the beginning of the tour who would like to sit at the front and then alternate passengers regularly. That would have been fair. When I mentioned this to the tour guide, she completely misunderstood me and thought we wanted to be there the whole time. Definitely needs improvement on that subject.

      Friendly but not impressed.
The 3 stars are more for the half day format than the team. The Adelaide highlight part is not necessary at all, even useless and time consuming. Bus is just going round and round in the city showing you things you can easily see by yourself by walking, tram or bus. As it is not even stoping for explanations or pictures its even making people who were actually interessed frustrated. So on either part not a good thing. They really should cancel this part of the tour. Instead it should go straight to Mont lofty and hanhdorf because as said in previous commentaries you do not have enough time to fully enjoy it . 2 hours are Ok too have lunch (not too long) and go back and forth the main street. No more. Otherwise organisation, communication, and professionnalism of the team is good.

OMG I wish I'd read these reviews before booking. Same tour as Robyn (previous review) and agree completely. The tour was fantastic, great company, fantastic cellar door people, quality wines, gorgeous scenery. Only downside was Paul's manner... boorish, snappy, unfriendly, uninformative, disrespectful and very arrogant. He has no concept of customer service or giving his travellers good memories. His sarcastic replies to the very many bad reviews here only serve as proof of his deluded attitude.
I want to recommend the tour as the venues are wonderful... but I just cannot stress enough, read everyone's negative impressions on here and trust in the numbers... I chatted to every member of our 12-strong bus full and not one person had a positive thing to say about him. Complaints however were plentiful (the word torturous was mentioned). If Paul posts denying the accuracy of this review it only proves how deeply in denial he is. Read the room Paul!

Not worth your money or your time.
Our tour started off very awkwardly as the tour owner approached the bus we were in to accost our driver, I was seated directly behind the driver as we were waiting for other passengers when the owner approached and started berating and belittling the driver before realising he had made a mistake... the mistake he should’ve realised was that he should not have spoken to an employee in that tone and manner and to definitely not have done so in the presence of paying customers.
Our red flag should’ve been his rude demeanour towards us when we phoned up about my dietary requirements.. our second red flag should’ve been when we asked what wineries we were visiting and to be told that it was a secret and a need to know and that we didn’t need to know by our driver.. big mistake!!
Overall we went to 2x wineries, 1 was family owned by tour owner and the other was where we had lunch... very disappointing as we were asked where we wanted to go at the very beginning.
We were also driven through and shown jacobs creek carpark, pointed out where Seppersfield/chateau tanunda and Saltram were and driven past the sign for Grant Burge 3 times.
Oh and we stopped for 5mins to try cheese and walked through a chocolatier that had a wine tasting attached so we could try ‘pedestrian’ wine.
We were taken to Maggie Beer but everything inside was at out cost.. so by that stage we just wanted to get back to our hotel and try and salvage what we could of that day.. which wasn’t much as we were already 1 hour behind schedule... which could’ve been avoid through better planning of day and less circling around to waste time.
What was promised during booking was not met, I would not recommend this tour at all and would advise anyone looking for a Barossa Experience to look elsewhere.

Would not recommend this tour! Ruined by Paul the guide and business owner with his rudeness and very unprofessional manner.
This was a very average tour unfortunately. The tour guide Paul, was not very friendly and continuously made rude and inappropriate comments including telling lots of tasteless jokes about women. He also had very strong opinions and views which were not appropriate most of the time - also making a few racist comments.

It was very evident from the start that he was there to make the day all about him. Within the first 15 minutes of the trip he told us that he had bad reviews recently and that we should give good reviews which wasn’t a great look to start the day. He also made business calls on loud speaker so the whole tour could hear. The atmosphere was not relaxed and he also swore a lot at other cars/people when driving. At one point he stopped halfway through telling us something and stared us down for talking while he was, making us feel uncomfortable and as if we were in trouble! He was also confrontational with an elderly man who was clearly just a little confused and was very rude to him in front of everyone.
There was no itinerary prior to getting on the bus and we didn’t know the plan for the day (he would make calls to the wineries before arriving, which seemed very unorganised).
3 of the 4 cellar doors we visited were average.
The bus seats were really uncomfortable and for a group of 10 we didn’t have a lot of space.
Based on all the negative reviews, I wish we had of read them properly first and I would not recommend this tour to anybody.

We actually didn’t get to Maggie Beers, which was the sole reason for booking the trip. The tour guide was unapologetic about it and in fact blamed it on our group being slow. He also told several people to ‘shut up’ and told some lame/crass jokes. I think there’s definitely better tours out there and for $126, not a bargain.

We went on the tour today to the Barossa. I was quite disappointed to be honest. Bu the lack of care from the owner has led me to leave this review.

The advert states wine tasting a three of the regions wineries. We only went to two wineries and were required to pay $10 each for tasting at one of them. This is false advertising and unacceptable in my mind.

We also found Peter to be a bit rude and condescending at times. I am sure he is a lovely bloke but he needs to understand that if people ask a question it is because they want an answer not to be told to ‘google it’. We are not from SA and unfortunately today has left a bad taste in our mouth.

We went on a half day tour with a different company the day prior to Mclaren Vale and it was fantastic. Did more wine tasting in half the time and for half the price.

When I emailed the owner about our thoughts and experience he attacked me personally and was completely unprofessional. His replies to other people’s comments show his complete disregard for his customers. This guy doesn’t deserve to be in business. So do not book with this company.

We were having a ball on all Adelaide tours we went to, and normally would do on holidays and tours.

The same cant be said for this one, Bums on seats.
    Disappointing experience.

The one thing you expect on a tour is if you follow the rules you don’t get left behind.

We got to 4th of 5th stop and were told 3pm departure. We were sitting beside driver and followed him out, I got stopped by Maggie Beer waitor on way out as we had a takeaway order as we proceeded outside the driver left…. we were literally running after the driver (3.08pm) and called the organisers mobile (who laughed) only to be told he will come back. After 40 mins waiting outside, we called the organizer (again), who again laughed and said Peter would be back. About 10 mins later Peter arrived and we basically were told “you have to laugh about it” if thats an idea of an apology. At the drop home to hotel Peter offered to give us another half an hour if we ever came back, again saying “you had to laugh about it”.

Bit of anticlimax, all our stuff was on bus, missing a promised stop, and listening to driver go on about himself for rest of tour.

We would never use again nor recommend.

We were on other Adelaide tours and they were FANTASTIC, they all delivered what was promised. This driver just went on about being a pilot for 41 years….

In addition to the disappointment, we were promised a nice lunch. We got a cheese platter shared between 4 at Lamberts and left hungry. Others on tour commented similar.

Ive added a photo of the promised lunch options.

I never whinge - please refer to my other reviews but for others looking to book. Thought it worthwhile doing so.

A basic head count would have been suffice

I loved visiting the wineries, but I was so disappointed with the tour guide that we travelled with. He basically stayed on the bus at every stop we made, but when he did engage with us he was snappy and he especially made me feel very upset. He told multiple people not to tall about certain people or events, or to talk to loudly or sing on the bus, which is fair enough but his manner made us feel like we were school children on a bus and to be quite once he’d said the final word. I would highly recommend Barossa valley but please chose a different company to travel with if you want a good experience

We had a private group of 10 people and Bums on Seats were able to accommodate our booking really quickly. Our driver Peter was excellent and picked a great selection of wineries for us to check out as well as a couple of other attractions in the valley.

He also provided us with heaps of details of the area in general and suggestions for what to do with our extra time.

Overall the trip was great value for money and would definitely do it again.

Driver and winery's were awesome and the amount given in tastings was worth the price. Food was basic but tasty but the Maggie beer was lackluster however, especially at the end of the day when the kitchen is closed. All in all, a great way to get a taster of the Barossa for those who haven't done it before

Loved the tour - lots of wine and gorgeous scenery. Sam, the guide, was funny and knowledgeable. He created a great vibe for the day. The Kies winery is the real deal - highly recommend it! We booked it on a Tuesday and unfortunately, for some reason, a number of things a closed on Tuesday, including the usual restaurant where you'd normally have the included lunch (we had it elsewhere with limited lunch options) and the chocolate place was also shut on Tuesday sadly. Seeing the Maggie Beer shop was great too - was quiet though. Still a fantastic day and a reliable, enjoyable bus tour service.
