        Orangutans and elephants
We did the orangutan experience and the elephant experience. It was amazing. Madde was such a good host and we got really close to the orangutans and the elephants. Gave them a mud bath and a scrub. Well worth the money. Highly recommend.

        Sad
Sad. Animals are kept in very small enclosures. Its how zoos were 30 X years ago. I'm sure the staff feel they are taking good care and looking after the animals well. But the spaces are way too small..

Well-Maintained; There should be More Animals
Situated about 30 minutes from Ubud center, the zoo is well-designed and -maintained. After fhe entrance gate, the first to welcome the visitors are a herd of uncaged deers, roaming around freely where visitors can take a selfie with them. The zoo has 2 sections, connected by bright-colored buses that travel back and forth regularly to move visitors between sections. Therr are scheduled animal shows, but on my visiting day, I managed to watch only the bird show. Spare between 3 - 4 hours for a leisured sightseeing. Just I feel the animals are not too many I wish there could be a lot more ....

Mud Fun w/ the elephants was awesome
Elephant Mud Fun was the intended purpose of my trip but was pleasantly surprised to be able to tour the Bali Zoo prior to my Mud Fun appointment. Outstanding zoo and very well managed. Thoroughly enjoyed the zoo. For the Mud Fun event, this was an outstanding opportunity to get up close to the elephants and learn about them. Madde, our event leader, was a solid guy with a ton of knowledge and truly appreciated his work. I enjoyed every minute of this event and will be going back again.

For $537(for an 11year old and a 12year old and myself) NZ dollars to do the orangutan bfast and mud bath with the elephant's. Absolute waste of money. The bfast with the orangutans some lady just walked in grabbed a plate and got the same experience we paid extra money for. The elephants were different that was a good experience. But Then on top of the overly expensive experience I had to pay another $121NZ for my photos with the elephant's. That was the cheapest option with the digital copies. Eveything here beverages wise is expensive. Advertise coke for 20.000 then chuck on tax and all the other stuff on top of it making it an extra 5.000 extra. Worst day I've had in Bali so far which is a shame because it's been the most expensive day!!! Not at all impressed with the zoo and the poor animals either.

My family and I really enjoyed our morning here. The buffet style breakfast was surprisingly good with bacon and eggs cooked to your liking. The orang-utans were cheeky and the elephants were also accessible for patting. As others have mentioned the zoo is currently building some more exhibits but this did not detract from what they have there. It only takes a couple of hours to walk the zoo and see all the animals. If you bundle up the breakfast with admission the cost is approx. AU$200 for a family of four. I thought it was reasonable value. The kids had a great time.

Manif the keeper was so great and friendly very knowledgeable. Anna and Terry the elephant were amazing and the day was so fun. The baby elephant was hilarious always playing up. You pay extra for drinks so bring a little cash and remember to tip the keepers they do such a great job.

What a fun experience! This was incredible the breakfast was amazing with a huge choice of different foods and drinks. Beautiful location in the zoo and great service. To top this all off half way through breakfast we where greeted by a range of different incredible animals such as elephants ( including a baby!) Orangutan ( the star of the show ) birds, porcupines, and a pangolin. This was so amazing and so much fun, the zoo itself is very interactive with so much to do. If you are in Bail I would highly recommend going here. A special note to Gede Budarta who was our driver, great service really lovely, offered to drop us off anywhere if we wished, gave us his card if ever we needed a driver, and when we where ready to leave arrived within 5 minutes to take us back.

Breakfast with the Orangutans an experience in itself but then did Mud Bath with the elephants. Our guide Madde made sure we had a knowledgable, hands on experience to remember. Photos are expensive but they are a "must have" A great day and a highlight of our trip.
