I have had multiple surf lessons. This one may have been the best. I had a two-hour private lesson with almost the first half-hour spent on the beach analyzing and working on my pop-up. Merrick's beginner's pop-up technique emphasized placing the rear foot and getting your butt high enough to get your feet under you. A neat trick was to raise the rear foot to vertical while prone which helps preposition it for placement. A brief chin-tuck helps get that butt higher. Once in the water I popped up on the first wave and things only got better from there. I spent the rest of the time on the shoulder of waves. (The instructor was Anthony; the surf was barely 1 meter.)

I decided to try surfing for the first time in Noosa. The surf team were all very helpful and professional in coordinating the lesson. The first 20 minutes taught us the fundamentals and the dangers of the water. This was really helpful and important information as a complete beginner. In the water the team were attentive and instructive, providing helpful guidance on how to improve. We were divided into small groups based on our experience/abilities, which meant the instructors could focus on every one of us. I had a great time and cannot recommend this experience enough to anybody visiting Noosa!

Took my daughter for an impromptu 2 hour surfing lesson as part of a bigger holiday in Australia and Noosa. Great friendly and helpful staff, instructor did a great job engaging our small group (just 5 of us), good kit, very friendly and very patient which was appreciated. Overall HIGHLY recommended!

We had a fantastic 2 hour private surf lesson which was fantastic. Our 2 daughters ages 12&14 thoroughly enjoyed. Our instructor phoenix was brilliant, v professional & made the whole experience v relaxed and fun! Would highly recommend

I took a private surf class and was thoroughly impressed with the instructor, Merrick, and the overall experience. Not only did Merrick provide clear and concise instructions, but he also provided a safe and fun atmosphere for learning. The waters were perfect for beginners like me and I had a lot of fun! By the end of the class, I was able to catch waves on my own and ride it all the way to the shore. Overall, the surf class was a fun and memorable experience that I would recommend to anyone interested in learning to surf. You won't be disappointed! After 2 years of surfing without having had proper instructions I was failing at even popping up on surfboard. I attended a 5 day lesson with Merrick's Surfing School and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. We were given the same instructor for the duration of 5 days (Crof) and with proper guidance and individualised feedback I was catching Left/Right unbroken waves and turning with ease plus moving up and down the surfboard. Super fun morning with Louis and Finn, really adapted to our personalities and made us all feel comfortable and had a laugh with us. Was a great surf lesson with a group of girl friends. Highly recommend.

You should definitly try surf in Noosa with them. They are the best. They can teach you in English and in French. Nice people who love their job. They ll give you good advice for sure you ll be able to stand up. Thank you so much!!!

My 9yr old son and I flew up from Melbourne to learn to surf. We booked 3 days of lessons with Rob and had an absolute ball. His guidance was really patient and easy to understand and we both stood on the first day. My 9yr old son loved Rob who very patiently and enthusiastically played “would you rather” for the second and third lesson while we were out in the water. (Did I mention patient, fun and kind?!) If you’re contemplating surfing lessons definitely go for these guys, they’re awesome.

I had a great experience. He first told us some theoretical tips about the waves and how to stand up on the board. Then we got into the water and learnt step by step how to use the board, read the waves and stand up. Very friendly, patient and fun instructor. Definetly recommend.

I was gifted a learn to surf lesson with Merrick - a big tick on my bucket list. Merrick is an excellent instructor, very clear and he focussed on safety first and supported each individual in our small group as if each of us was having a private lesson. Most of our group was able to stand during our first lesson, but the emphasis was on learning rather than immediate success. Highly recommended.

Great experience! Super clear tips, great instruction. Anthony was very friendly, very helpful. We had the dry-land instructions and still had lots of time on the water. Anthony was very patient and encouraging. He helped with the boards, held the board for you when the waves were crashing in. Highly recommend Merrick's surf lessons in beautiful Noosa, main beach. Selecting a day that has a high tide would be a recommendation.

Great - 2hr private lesson. Awesome to have the full focus of an instructor. A beginner refresher lesson for me, been 2 years since my last lessons. By the end I was standing and catching waves to the beach. Money well spent. Thanks heaps team!

I did a private lesson with Anthony and my two kids. In my late 40s and having never tried surfing before (and not being fit at all) I had low expectations of myself and was happy to go for a laugh with the kids. Anthony was so encouraging and enthusiastic! Miss 10 was up literally straight awAy. Mstr 13 was doing it pretty well too and there I was having the time of my life and right at the end there I was too. Actually unbelievably standing up ! It was a beautiful morning sun out, gorgeous noosa emerald forest right up to the beach. I’ll remember it forever❤️
