About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Samtraceyfurfaro0 contributionsBremer Canyon Orca watching. We were staying in Albany and Susan of Albany tours picked us up from the visitor centre. We were definitely in safe hands with Susan driving. Susan was informative and the drive from Albany to Bremer Bay (for Bremer Canyon Orca tour) was lovely and we would highly recommend it. Thank you SusanWritten 12 January 2025
- F888OWpetera0 contributionsAlbany CoastSpectacular cliff view, well worth visiting although on the day we went it was quite calm and so not as Spectacular as on a rough day. Good to combine with the Whaling centre as they are close together. We left our visit to late in the day, planning on Sun set but the weather was overcast.Written 5 January 2025
- COWL32210 contributionsMt Barker Grape EscapeWe had a tour of wineries in the Mt Barker area for myself & my partner, my sister & her partner. Susan, our host, was extremely knowledgavble about the area and gave us running commentary as she drove us to the various wineries. The wineries al offered a superb selectrion of wine, some of which we bought. Lunch was provided at one of the wineries. We booked this tour as we wanted to create an experience - this certainly delivered - thoroughly recommend this day trip to othersWritten 18 December 2024
- limerickf20240 contributionsHow about being honestVery dishonest to advertise tours to the gap, when it is closed and not accessible. Has been closed since end of august this year.Written 8 December 2024
- Wansbrough20120 contributionsInformative tour and great introduction to the areaThis privately booked excursion was for 4 hours and departed at 9:00 from outside the port gate. Our guide and also our driver was a man called Tim and there were 24 of us in his bus. We booked this about a year ago but received an email a few weeks prior to arriving telling us one the places we were due to visit (The Gap) was now closed for renovation until the end of December. Given there was little else of interest thrown up when searching for things to do in Albany we decided to carry on with this tour. Our first stop came after about a 15 minute drive and was a quick stop at a place called Goode Beach and as well as being extremely pleasing on the eyes also helped orientate us. It was then on to Frenchman Bay which was the site of a former whaling station. Only a few terracotta bricks remain of what was quite a large operation. Today it is another picturesque spot that you would never know what its history was. Frenchman Bay is also where George Vancouver, the first European explorer of King George Sound, landed in 1791 so quite a significant place in the area. Moving on and this time to Albany’s Historic Whaling Station where we had a mid morning drink with some delicious scones with jam and cream (Cornwall style before you ask). We were there for 40 minutes and Tim provided us with a talk about the site and how it was the last whaling operation in Australia. It closed in 1978 and is now a tourist attraction to make people aware of the area’s history. We didn’t actually go in as there wasn’t enough time but were able to get a general idea about the area and operation. Our next stop was to view Albany’s 18 windmill wind farm which supplies 80% of Albany’s electric, not the most exciting place but it was very picturesque. All the ships tours were stopping here so it just shows you how little there is to see in the area. Back in the bus for one final stop which was to Mount Clarence, home to the Desert Mounted Corps Memorial and the Padre White lookout. Again there were some fantastic views over King George Sound and Princess Royal Harbour We finished our day in port by being dropped off in Albany. I would certainly recommend this tour if you have limited time and even if you don't.Written 30 November 2024
- faybriggs0 contributionsHistoric whaling stationAn excellent tour. We were given a lot of information on the drive out to the Whaling station. I went mainly to see the excellent Scrimshaw work done by Gray Tonkin engraved on the 4 metre Sperm Whale jawbone plus on teeth from a Sperm whale. This whaling station has a grim history with so many whales slaughtered - interesting history. They also had the skeleton of a Humpback whale showing its baleen.Written 16 November 2024
- janemccallum20 contributionsMount Barker Art Trail tourVery relaxing as a local not to have to think about where to go to see fine art work. The day felt very relaxed with no pressure to rush in the exhibitions. Lunch at one of the local wineries was plentiful and tasty. I would recommend this trip to anyone visiting the area.Written 7 October 2024
- Tour468466822410 contributionsNo GapI was very disappointed as the tour is advertised as The Gap and Natural Wonders but we didn't see The Gap as the road was closed and had been for several weeks. There was no warning of this on the website. The tour driver was very knowledgeable.Written 24 September 2024

- Emma R0 contributionsFantastic tourGreat day out. Our guide was Tim and he had lots of information. Scenery was gorgeous and we saw so much of the area. We even got a quick visit to the War Memorial as an extra surprise. Really enjoyed the beauty of The Gap and Natural Bridge. Beautiful part of the world.Written 22 June 2024
- travelphleg0 contributionsFantastic day tasting our way around the areaWineries, charcuterie, chocolates etc. were all delicious and unique to the area. Was a lovely break for me on a driving holiday to have someone else take the wheel. Susan was very knowledgeable about the area and super helpful in considering my husband's limited mobility and parked as close as possible to the best entry points, as well as assisting him on/off the very comfy passenger van. Our purchases were safely stored for us, including an Esky for our cheeses.Written 12 June 2024
- Lee M0 contributionsGreat Tour CompanyMy friend and I were treated with care and respect. Our tour guides, Tim and Michelle were very informative and helpful. They were pleasant and respectful. We felt safe as 2 women on holiday in a foreign city. The vehicles used were clean and reliable. The day was highlighted with great conversations and laughter. The 2 tours we did were the Granite skywalk and on a separate day, Tasting delicious Denmark. I cannot recommend Busy Blue Bus highly enough. Very good value for money and excellent customer service. Thank you for making our holiday very enjoyable.Written 9 May 2024
- Paradise484227596380 contributionsUnbelievable experience!!There’s not more to say than this is an unbelievable experience!! We were picked up and taken early and had a very enjoyable and knowledgable journey to the bay. It started as a slightly grey and quiet day but that changed quickly. The sun came out and so did the whales. They tour guides were amazing and knew all the whales names ages and spotted them really early (which i know is unpredictable) and followed them all day with multiple sighting of single males, groups and babies! (I’m not good at catching them on camera though) I would recommend this to anyone. Although if you are prone to sickness a warning to get tablets - we luckily were ok but it nearly was a very expensive sleep for my husband - and we were lucky it was a calmer day (which is still pretty choppy) Then picked up and dropped home - thank you so much for a great experienceWritten 29 April 2024
- sargesita0 contributionsTour was cancelled ONE HOUR before it was scheduled to start & they didn't let me knowI’m really disappointed and quite unimpressed with how the cancellation of the tour was handled. The tour was cancelled ONE HOUR before it was scheduled to start because the minimum number of people was not met. It seems I was called an hour before the tour was supposed to start, but no message was left, so I didn’t think it required an urgent callback when I missed it. Moreover, there was no follow-up email or text to inform me that the tour had been cancelled, so I went to the meeting place as expected and waited around 15 minutes before I realised that no guide was showing up. I then received an email over an hour after the tour was scheduled to start saying that the tour had been cancelled and my ticket refunded [I've attached a screenshot]. Cancelling a tour ONE HOUR before it is scheduled to start and then not informing me is really appalling customer service.Written 29 April 2024

Great trip to the Porongurups. Our guide Susan was incredibly knowledgeable in so many areas which she happily imparted to us along the hike to the skywalk. A really enjoyable hike up and even though the weather didn’t behave itself and the view was limited, the excursion did not disappoint as plenty to see on the way up. With better weather the view at the top would have been magnificent!! Would definitely recommend

Thanks for your recommendation!! Great comment that the hike is enjoyable even if the weather is damp and the view clouded - it's a fun excursion anyway! Wildflowers were brightly coloured. Just good to be out in the bush. Thanks for climbing with us.

We had a great day. It is a hard walk uphill. Took our time. Our great tour guide Tim told us all about the area and the local indigenous people. The sky walk was a great experience. Fantastic views. Would definitely class it as a must do tour.
Lunch at the Plantagenet winery was a very generous cheese and meat platter and a wine tasting included.
Thoroughly enjoyed our day.
Very good value for hotel pick up tour and guide with lunch included.
Highly recommend

Our day started on time when we were greeted at our accommodation by a friendly, enthusiastic guide. We chatted intently on our way to pick up other guests and it became obvious that it was going to be an interesting and enjoyable day. Tim is a very knowledgeable person and a fantastic guide. The walk itself is fairly straightforward but Tim helped us negotiate some tricky rock hopping
right at the top. The skywalk is amazing and well worth the effort to make it up the hill.
Lunch at the winery afterwards was a nice touch and Tim took the time over lunch to show me other worthwhile walks in the area.
Thank you Tim and thank you Busy Blue Bus.

Hi Rena, Thanks for your review of the Granite Skywalk tour. It's a great hike with a bit of challenge for some. as you say, very worth the effort. Your feedback on Tour Guide Tim is great! He has been passionately guiding with Busy Blue Bus Tours for a while and is very capable.

The walk from car park to top is roughly 2.4 kms but at your own pace it is doable for most. The rock scrambles at the top require a little bit of coordination but I guarantee you the view is worth it! We got up there quite early so still had some cloud cover which was amazing, then the clouds started to break and the view became breathe taking. We even got to see some small icicles in the air floating about. Unforgettable….

Sounds like you had the best experience on the Granite Skywalk tour. It is doable and with a Tour Guide to support and provide strategies, most people can do the rock scramble and get to the breathtaking views. Djeran (autumn) is such a great time of year to do this walk when it's a little cooler, but the clouds clear to brilliant sunshine.

It was a long walk uphill, make sure you bring at least 1x litre of water per person. Check the weather and ensure your shoes is good for hiking. Very challenging walk but also very worth it once youre on the top.

The walk was challenging but the end view was awesome. The only problem was the last 65 metres or so, due to the hand grips/foot steps were too far apart for vertically challenged people (short people). My wife (155cm) had trouble reaching them safely.

Steady walk uphill 2km to granite rocks and skywalk. Quite difficult climb up rock to the ladder then up to the skywalk. Not for faint hearted. Fantastic views from skywalk.

Amazing time,
Smiling happy Maryanne was amazing, she had so much knowledge of the local area (helps to be local) didn’t mind all the questions we gave her. It was a great day out with the activities we did.
From the walk up to the Skywalk, looking at the amazing views. {Bugging Maryanne with more questions} the enjoyable wine tasting and lunch to the gong session at Mt Romance.
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
