About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Rokinklore0 contributionsDave and his Blue mountins tour is the best Sydney tour. Our family came back to Australia from New Zealand after 10 years.and were surprised to see Dave still running his tour.. It was very pleasung to make the trip just with him as our guide and no others, just our family. We did his Blue mountains trip again and visited different scenic viewing points to the last trip. He is so nice we got him to also give us a private Sydney tour, such a beautiful city , he even gave us time for a swim for our daughters at Manly beach. Dave will make your day !Written 5 December 2024
- paulkr20240 contributionsSo glad we chose them. It's very confusing to choose which Blue mountains tour to use, so many. Our hotel concierge helped us and he had heard good things about this private tour. So, he called them up and they could pick us up at our city hotel the next day. We saw the Blue mountains, the gondolas, some shopping in Leura and even patted koala bears and roos at the wildpark sanctuary. It was truly an excellent day with a most accomplished guide in Dave. Thanks a million !Written 25 November 2024
- Tom S0 contributionsA most enjoyable private tour guided by an expert. This is a professionally organised company who do everything right to make the day in the Blue mountains great. Their planning and schedule is so good we got to see all the sites in good time. All together a fantastic day and we will tell all our friends to use you on their trip.Written 23 October 2024
- O9137YWtomr0 contributionsA private journey to Blue mountains, Kangeroos , Koalas and so much more .It was a great private excursion by Dave for just us - he is so knowledgeable and skilled giving us a good historical perspective of everything ,he is engaging to answer any question. The views were clear and thrilling, the day could not have been any better.Written 2 October 2024
- Fishdish6490 contributionsIt's an incredible day for the family. Our family of 5 - my Mum , wife and two boys aged 6 and 12 all found something in the dat to adore. We were on our private tour with just Dave as our navigator. It's a big trip from Europe so wanted to make the most of every minute and Dave made sure of that. This is our second Aussie visit but this time with all our family. Loved every second of out time at the Blue mountains. It included visiting some koala bears, emus, wallabys etc at a zoo. Dave chose some short easy hikes and took us us to lookout points where there was no one else. He dropped us back to our Intercontinental hotel at 6pm after an incredible journey.Written 2 October 2024
- kevlowry60 contributionsBlue mountains look so good.We returned to visit our relatives here after 6 years and wanted another taste of the mountains. We phoned up the previous tour company and asked for their private tour. Amazing the next day they could take us, even collecting us from our private residence in Coogee. Again we saw and did so much, but visited different places to last time. There are so many places to go we got completely different photos and vistas. Another great day, thanks Dave for organising.Written 28 September 2024
- U197DHjoanp0 contributionsNature at it’s best - worth paying the little extra for the private tour. This was our first ever private tour as it costs a bit more. But it was so worth it, to have the freedom of the time to ourselves, AND to have Dave as our chauffeur for the day at the Blue mountain. On the way we visited koalas and kagaroos, then it was a lovely scenic drive up the mountain and the road wasn’t even windy. Dave took us to various viewpoints and an easy 30 minute bush stroll. It was a most enjoyable day and Dave showed his true worth giv8ng us heaps of things to learn and understand. The mountains are a piece of artistry by nature.Written 25 September 2024
- grantpQ4769VQ0 contributionsGrand times with Dave and the Blue Mountain. It is worth the long trip downunder to see all Australia has to offer. Our private tour for a whole day out in tjhe Blue mountain was a highlight. Dave made it even better, not to mention having time up close with koala bears and kangeroos. Fresh mountain air, amazing blossom trees in springtime and cute villages makes an amazing day. Dave ene fetched us from our Hyatt Sydney hotel and returned us there at 5pm, we enjoyed a most comfortable ride and e taught us so many things, and even he can throw a boomerang. Is there anything he doesnt know about his unique country.. Thanks a million, Dave !Written 24 September 2024
- carlsM2617GP0 contributionsA honeymoon forever,We chose Australia for our honeymoon. Naturally you only want a private tour and Dave was the man. He went out of his way to find special locations in the Blue mountains away from the crowds. Some amazing photos of just us with amazing scenery on rocks and a6t waterfalls. He organised a picnic lunch for us in a remote rocky outcrop. We did the train and gondals. The three sisters walk was a bonus. What a magical day.Written 23 September 2024
- O859HPtomc0 contributionsExtremely good tour. It’s the perfect day for a family to see all of the Blue mountain. We had Dave to ourselves from pick up at our Hyatt Sydney hotel, we requested 9am and wanted a bit later return at 7 pm, that was no trouble for him. You can see he enjoys his job and is an expert on everything about the mountains sites and nature. We felt so comfortable being with him, as did our two teenage boys of 16 and 18y. He escorted right thru Scenic world and along the forest boardwalk so we did not get lost. We did so much sightseeing and views it was amazing and fulfilled our life long dream of bringing our family here. Of course being spring time with all the blossom trees made it even better. We recommend Dave to all other visitors to Sydney.Written 9 September 2024
- pauljM7843MF0 contributionsWe made the right private tour choice. We are four friends visiting Sydney and we could not agree on which tour company. So we asked our Air bnb host who heard good things about Blue ribbon tours. They were most friendly on the phone and were happy to answer all our questions. Collected us from Bondi beach and off we went to the Blue mountains. Our guide was an Aussie and knew his stuff and managed us in the crowds at Scenicworld. Enjoyed the forest walk with him and along the drive we made many sops at lovely overlooks. Really enjoyed the river boat back to Sydney, such a relaxing way to end a brilliant day. We will recommend.Written 20 August 2024
- cropelenner0 contributionsThe very Best of a Private tour.On this trip we spent a little more to make a private tour with Dave of the Blue mountains. We told him what we have seen on other trips so he showed us so much else. the park is so vast, it's never ending views. Another wonderful experience in this amazing place with the best guide.Written 6 August 2024
- emak9410 contributionsGreen tour with the Sydney sunset on the ferryOur tour guide was Axel. Even though it was misty, the tour guide prepared a really amazing experience for us. We took a nice refreshing walk through forest and guide explaned a lot about nature and wildlife. Axel also made an excellent zoo guidence in Sydney Zoo. He kindly escorted us on the farry to Circular Quay. We enjoyed the sunset on the boat. Sending love from Slovenia.Written 22 July 2024
- LutheranLadySanDiego0 contributionsPrivate Tour Is a Super Value! We were so well taken care of by Dave Taylor, our guide for the day. From the time he picked us up at our hotel until he dropped us at the ferry for the ride back to Sydney, he provided us with a wealth of information on Sydney and the Blue Mountain area. He was so well versed on the plant varieties and their benefits. History came alive with his stories. I'm so glad he encouraged us to take full advantage of Scenicworld. It was definitely the icing on the cake! We loved the interaction with animals at Featherdale Wildlife Park, including a picture with a koala! Wonderful, well paced day. Exceptional experience!Written 26 May 2024
- Z2744KXhenryp0 contributionsVery informed and scenic day.it was a beautiful day travelling to the blue mountain. it was a smooth 90 minute drive to Katoomba where we saw colourful parrots, amazing canyons and bushland. our private excursion was the way to go to please ourselves and to not be inconvenienced by others. Dave did a great job of adjusting the itinerary to compensate for the less than ideal weather. He told great stories and provided nice entertainment. The visit to see the native animals at the refuge was wonderful.

This is a great way to see the Blue Mountains! It's wonderful to have your own guide. Dave is so informative, personable and funny! He is the best tour guide who takes time to explain things, makes some jokes, and he really catered to my 8 year old daughter to make sure that she stayed engaged! We highly recommend adding on the optional cable way, rail way and sky way. These are a must! The lookouts are marvelous. This private tour allows you to get up to the mountains early so you beat the crowd! And the wildlife park was nice because it was small and we got to see the animals quickly. The ferry ride was a perfect way to end the day! It was smooth sailing to see the harbor bridge and opera house and the skyline of buildings from the water. Awesome experience in large part due to DAVE!!! Thank you for making it a memorable day for all 5 of us!

We had a great tour yesterday! Dave, our driver and guide extraordinaire, did a superb job giving us information on the sites and customs of the areas. We got to see some remarkable places in the Blue Mountains and really enjoyed the nature! The Wildlife Park was very nice, and we felt they did a good job of keeping the animals and organizing the park in a way that was quick and easy to navigate. While we arent fans of caged animals, I believe they do a good job with what they have. Dave had great recommendations for lunch and coffee as well! Be advised that the trip has a fair bit of walking up, including up and down several stairs.

We were picked up on time and had a wonderful day in the Blue Mountains. The weather was less that perfect (foggy and intermittent rain) but Dave continuously tried to adjust the itinerary to maximize our experience. His knowledge of the area and the natural wonders was exemplary. The tour is a good mix of activity levels.

Although we did not expect crowds at the Blue Mountains (as tourism was just picking up after 2 years of Covid and we were visiting Australia from Singapore), we decided that a private tour was the best option. The next decison was who to go with. We were glad that we chose Blue Ribbon. Our guide Darren picked us up at Fraser Suites at the appointed time and we found him to be an interesting young man. He was not only knowledgeable about the Blue Mountains, Sydney and Australia, but was also able to engage us in interesting conversations about many other issues which made the long drive lively. We also found him resourceful being able to keep adapting to the weather as it was rainy and misty almost the entire day. Even at the end of the tour, the machine refused to dispense tickets and it was almost time for the ferry.
Although we did not get the see the full splendour of the Blue Mountains because of the mist, we still enjoyed the tour thanks to Darren. He brought us to the quaint Megalong Valley Tearoom were we had a lovely lunch and wonderful scones. Without him, we would not have known that such a place existed and would have probably eaten at one of the many village cafes. This is one of the advantages of having a private tour where time and place are flexible, enabling one to go off the beaten road and experience more. There is a higher cost involved but we think it is worth it.

Picked up at hotel, Total group was 15, Excellent driver/guide. Basic tour does not include lunch or "Scenic World" railway/skyway/cableway, but simply pay A$44 ($30US) for all 3 Scenic rides and do lunch on your own in the cute town of Leura. Both recommended. Cruise is a return to Sydney from the Olympic site to Opera House area at end of tour. wildlife park is GREAT! About an hour, more animals & birds than you can see in an hour. Pet & feed kangaroos/wallabies, see dozens of koalas, wombats, emu, cassowary, tons of birds, ocean crocodile. Can get a pix with a koala. Very popular (about $17US) but can take up to 15-20 min of your visit. Tour has great mountain views of 3 Sisters, Boars head & other sites. Totally worth the cost.

Book this trip now! I booked this last minute as we were without a car but wanted to show my brother the blue mountains, and my god did this booking exceed our expectations. If you have the opportunity to request a tour with Les, 12/10 recommend, he was absolutely incredible!
My husband (an Aussie native who has seen these sights many times over) and I have done a ton of these tours in different countries, and this just blew us out of the water. Les went above and beyond in his delivery of historical facts, it was part stand up comedy and history taught by the most engaging and charismatic professor. It’s apparent what a great guy he is by how he is received by staff at all the stops, you will not be disappointed. We now have a new and profound appreciation for these sites and the stories they carry.
I would highly recommend paying for the extras like the zoo and cable car. They offer exclusive access to a lot of the attractions and make the experience that much more memorable.

So fortunate to have the services of Dave who made the tour even better.
Whilst the sites in the mountains are special, and, no signs of any fire, it takes a good guide to manage the day around the busy places so we were more comfortable.
Just loved every place he took us - specially to ride the steep train into the forest and then get an overall perspective from high up in the gondola. Such beauty. Then the animals at the Wildlife sanctuary and cruise completed a wonderful day.

The tour yesterday was gorgeous. The Blue Mountains were blue from the gum trees. We could see a long way and the colours in the cliff face are so diverse. We had a very good guide who escorted us for the day, the stroll in the valley on the Boardwalk was great where he could tell us a lot of things about the forest. The Three Sisters are huge.
A comfortable ride in the mini bus with the other 11 folk made it such a good days' outing. So happy our hotel reception suggested this tour company, they do it well.

Our private tour day for my wife and I and our 7 year old boy was made when Darren collected us from our Hyatt hotel and took us up to the mountains. He made the weather be nice, even though showers were forecast. It was Easter and he avoided the queues in the busy places, he made us feel special. He gives all the good advice on how long to spend and where to go. The Mountains were really blue and you can see out forever. A highlight was to see the koala bears and wombats in the afternoon sanctuary stop. Thank you for making our day so nice.
