        Thumbs up experience
It's a great day to spend time with your family here, with plenty of hiking tracks around. This well-developed tourist location offers not only cable cars, but also buses that take you around to various viewpoints. My kids loved the steepest cable car. They were extremely excited and treated it like a rollercoaster. However, this experience comes with an not so cheap entrance fee;)

The best value for money experience that we have enjoyed for a long time, only enhanced by the incredible staff that we encountered.

        Nocturnal Magic
For the first time Scenic World has opened up their rides at night. You get one valley trip down and one return. Not a fan of the scenic railway we did the cable car both ways. There are light installations along the walkway through the valley. They are stunning! You can spend as long as you like down there. You also get a Skyway journey. We went out and back, buy a lot of people went one way and walked back via the night lit walk. I hope they continue to open it at night throughout the year.

        Nocturnal
We went to the Nocturnal. This is at night and the lighting was beautiful as you walked along the walkway between the Scenic Railway and the Scenic Cableway. We thought that we would finish off with a meal at the end. DON’T DO IT. The choice is minuscule and the cost exorbitant. We ended up ordering 2 hamburgers and a small chips to share with a side water and iced tea and it cost $65.

        Good tourist attraction
Excellent value for money . Tried all 3 different attractions ( cable car, skyrider and railway) Beautiful views . Helpful staff. Downside was a lot of pushing by other visitors obviously on timed day trips to queue jump . It would have been nicer to see the Grufallo experience on the boardwalk presented more naturally and less commercial/ plastic signs/ things to spot. Perhaps more imagination needed when looking for things to find rather than a commercial " unreal" drawing.

Best Activity in the Blue Mountains
This place was outstanding!! Loved all three of their rides. The views were spectacular!! I’m sure if you could walk their trails it would be even more magnificent but they were closed due to rain. Their gift shop was wonderful, so much to choose from. There was on site parking which was nice. All the rides had steps associated with them so if handicapped might want to check what’s do able before you go. Staff was super friendly and helpful.

        A disappointing suprise
Exceptionally disappointed when four of us having walked from the three sisters arrived at the bottom of the scenic railway very late in the afternoon expecting to buy a one way ticket to echo point ( previously possible ) only to discover that this option for bush walkers is no longer available. We were consequently faced with choice of $60 a head for a ride of a few minutes or climbing back up the steps (not possible for medical reasons) have always loved this as a day out with visitors but sadly no more. If looking to spend a whole day on all activities then yes a reasonable price for a delightful experience.

        Visit to Scenic World
My wife and I recently visited Sydney with another couple prior to a cruise vacation. While there, we took an excursion to Scenic World. This is a very cool place with exciting ways to explore the sites of the Blue Mountains. The scenic railway, skyway, cableway, and walkway were all outstanding experiences. We enjoyed our visit and would highly recommend this excursion.

Overpriced - spend your time around the 3 sisters
Did the walk from the 3 sisters to scenic world. Grabbed the train up the cliff. Unfortunately there is no ticket just to get up the cliff, so you have to pay the $50 price for the ticket that covers lots of options that we didn't use .... Sad really... you used to be able to get the single use ticket years ago, seems like a change to an overpriced policy to just rip people off. Profiteering appears to be the priority here. Family of 2 adults and two kids cost $200 for 15 seconds of use..... blatant ripoff. For those not planning to use both the cable car and the skyway, would suggest the cost is not worth it.... Shameful the company is ripping people off this way. The view and the walks are much better (and free) near the 3 sisters, suggest spending time there.

        Cog railway nice ride
This was a really nice place to visit. We enjoyed the cog railway at scenic world. It sure is steep! You can pick how you want to sit- more upright or leaning back. Had a good time looking at the mines too.

Touristy tourist trap loaded with tourists
Great place, great rides, great staff. But even on a weekday in March, it was way too crowded. Coming to somewhere as beautiful and natural as the Blue Mountains and then being shoulder to shoulder on long lines with people bumping into to you as they snap picture after picture after picture is just wrong.

        Thoroughly enjoyable & informative.
Arriving early in the morning to excellent weather on a busy day, just ahead of an increasing number of other tourists. Excellent informative staff highlighted this glorious attractions, whilst we enjoyed the Scenic Cable Car, Railway, Walkway to finish on the Cableway.

Really good experience even on a cloudy wet day!
It rained and the cloud was low to start with but no bother. The wonderful steep railway took us down to the lush forest for a walk along very solid board walks. The views and the proximity to nature are stunning. The cable car return to base gives another perspective as does the high level cable way across the gorge. Over 200m up from the forest floor with excellent views of the mountains (albeit flat topped) and the never dry waterfall. The latter particularly good after recent rain. The whole experience is expertly done. Pleasant informative staff and a decent cafe for drinks and snacks. The restaurant looked to have happy customers.

        Amazing Buunyal tour with David!
The Buunyal tour with David was the highlight of our family's Blue Mountain visit. We used Opal card to take 2h train ride to Blue Mountain. It is much less crowded in the morning than afternoon. Out tour was at 1pm and lasts about 2-2.5h. David gave us a walk and talk tour, with the world steepest train, skyway, cable car rides. He also shared with us the culture, plants, animals, how people live in the country, etc. We gained a deeper understanding and respect of the GUNDUNGURRA people. David is incredibly knowledgeable, kind and interesting. My two boys (12 and 9) were both engaged through the whole tour and learned quite a few things. Feeling lucky that we were able to take this tour which just started this year in our first trip to Australia!

Definitely worth a visit, but avoid the crowds
Without the shoulder-to-shoulder crowds, these three rides could have been a better experience. This had an influence on my star rating. Arriving earlier didn't make any difference, nor did visiting on a weekday outside of school holidays. My advice is: go later in the afternoon after the multitude of tour buses have gone. We enjoyed great views from the Skyway. We liked how it now travels right across to the Echo Point side of the Jamison Valley for the opportunity to get out and enjoy the vast view from a great nearby lookout. When you alight from the Scenic Railway, there is a waterfall, boardwalks through lush rainforest, and information boards about the interesting history of coal mining. You actually walk past the entrance to an old coal mine on your way to the Scenic Cableway. However, we weren't able to see the view at all while ascending in the Scenic Cableway because it was packed to capacity - so only those on the perimeter could see out. The eateries were packed and noisy, so we opted for lunch at a peaceful outside cafe that sat on the edge of a cliff just up from Echo Point. $50pp is the average cost of tickets, which covers all three rides; you can't opt to go on just one ride. Upon arrival, we noticed that our line (who were yet to purchase tickets) moved faster than the pre-paid ticket line. I really wanted to give this place 5 stars. I have great childhood memories of enjoying frequent family visits to Scenic World, so I remember a time when it wasn't noisy & packed, nor required a lot of waiting-around time when lining up for rides. Would I go again? Yes, but only if it was an hour or two before closing time.

Left feeling ripped off and very underwhelmed! If you are a family I'd wait until there are no COVID restrictions anymore otherwise your forking out a fortune for not much.

It cost me $150 for family of 4 for an "experience" that lasted less than an hour and 20min of that was hanging out in the gift shop until they come and get you.

I was very disappointed. Don't get me wrong, I love the Blue Mountains and have been coming to Scenic World for years, me as a child and I have brought my children here before. However, COVID has ruined the experience. What the website doesn't tell you (well I couldn't find it) that you are ushered through as a group, the Skyway goes 3/4 of the way across, hangs for 10 sec and returns - no getting off on the other side and exploring. Then you go to the railway to head down the mountain. At the bottom you are told you have 25 minutes to get to the cableway base to catch the ride back up. Asked can we catch the next cable, response "if you miss your cable you may not be able to catch the next because of restrictions". Down the bottom all the 'off paths' were closed, so no exploring down the bottom. Having been here before it took as 10min to dawdle along the boardwalk to the cable base and wait 15min for the cable to return us.

My rant comes from the fact it cost me $150 for basically nothing.

Hi leoniep648, Thank you for your feedback. We have passed it over to our leadership team to review. Since reopening, we have strived to be as transparent as possible about our new COVIDsafe safe experience via our website and social channels, so our visitors are aware of how it differs to the experience we offered prior to the Covid-19 pandemic. As you know, to help stop the spread of COVID19, we've made some changes. Our experience is now COVIDsafe includes all of Scenic World's unique attractions in a pre-approved circuit. The Scenic World experience will stay like this until government restrictions are lifted, and we can ensure the safety of all guests and team members. We hope you can revisit Scenic World once these restrictions are lifted! Safe travels,

Offering rebates on extreme poor weather conditions
following my three hour trip to get there ( 6 Hour return) the mist was so thick visibility was zero.
I know there is no controlling the weather but everyone should have been given the option for a refund or return voucher.
The first ride was the cable car, unfortunately you could not see out of the window, the cable car didn't even go the full distance. that ride took approx. 5 minutes.
Following that ride we were told to walk the short distance, about 200 mts to the next ride, which took approx. 60 seconds. the downhill steep train ride also took about 2 minutes.
only one walkway was open to the public. following the cliff ride we had no option but to walk thru the gift shop. not only did i feel sorry for my daughter who purchased the three tickets at a cost of nearly $140.00 but my embarrassment to all those other visitors to our country
It was a right rip off and i believe there should have been an option for every visitor
Even a free cup of coffee would have lightened the 'Ripped Off' feeling.
all in all three rides taking all of 5/6 minutes and a short short walk. don't bother. Unless you can purchase tickets at the door, we thought booking ahead was the right thing to do, Doh!

Staff told me that they have to work on Christmas after a year like this! Forced to be apart from their families to fuel the bosses greed. Didn't reply to my emails about this either.

Tours are extremely overpriced for what they include. Staff all look miserable and have to wear masks so you can't hear anything they're saying. My grandchildren were very bored by the experience.

Hi Michele – thank you for your review, we are sorry to hear our Covid restricted experience didn’t meet your expectations. Scenic World is third generation local family business, operating in the Blue Mountains for 75 years. It is also a major employer in our region. Like many of our friends in Australian tourism, we have been hit hard over the past 12 months; with bushfires, the pandemic and forced closure, and the loss of 60% of our visitation with closed international borders. Sadly, these impacts have meant we have significantly fewer shifts to offer our valued staff. Before the bushfires, we had never closed our doors and were proud to operate 365 days, including Christmas Day. All staff who work public holidays, including Christmas Day, are paid holiday rates. We are pleased to have the opportunity to offer our team as many shifts over our summer season, as it has been a tough year for everyone. We appreciate masks can make it challenging to communicate, both verbally and non-verbally. However, we have implemented the use of masks for all staff to protect the health and wellbeing of our staff and guests during these challenging times. This is in line with public health advice, which we value and respect. Our team will be disappointed to read your feedback, but we appreciate your honesty and for taking the time to share your thoughts. Like so many Australians, our team has had a challenging year and we praise their resilience, tenacity, enthusiasm and passion to share our Blue Mountains back yard with our valued visitors. We hope you enjoyed the rest of your visit to our region.

Strongly recommend not visiting Scenic World until Covid is more under control. This is the experience in a nutshell - pay $50 pp, wait in a large group, briefed on Covid safety (hand sanitizer stations, social distancing), the whole group is piled into each “ride” like cattle with some “free time” to walk a boardwalk that takes about 7 minutes and then spat out at the gift shop exit. You are squashed in with 50+ other people for the whole 45 minutes it takes from start to finish. You spend 35 of those minutes waiting to get on each “ride”. If you are nervous about Covid at all, it is the worst place to go - hand sanitizer stations or not. It makes ZERO sense to not allow people to freely walk the trails in space and in open air, and instead create this limited experience where you are shoulder to shoulder with 50 other people.
You don’t get any chance to enjoy the beauty because 20 other families are there trying to do the same. You can enjoy the same views (which really is what you’re there for) visit Echo Point and having a coffee at the Scenic World Cafe and save yourself the cost and risk.

Hi SPW2857, Thank you for taking the time to review your recent visit. As you know, to help stop the spread of COVID19, we've made some changes. Our experience is now COVIDsafe includes all of Scenic World's unique attractions in a pre-approved circuit. We've found that visitors have enjoyed not waiting in queues for any of our rides due to this new circuit. Since reopening, we have strived to be as transparent as possible about our new COVIDsafe safe experience via our website and social channels. This is so our visitors are aware of how it differs to the experience we offered before the COVID19 pandemic and the one hour time frame that it takes. We appreciate that this information may have been missed. Our decision to reopen Scenic World after three months of closure and the operating controls that have been put in place to ensure a COVIDsafe experience was not made lightly. Scenic World worked with an independent medical consultant, NSW Health advice, Tourism Ministers Office as well as an independent risk consultant to put together our COVIDsafe plan. We have a number of safety measures in place to ensure that Scenic World remains COVIDsafe, including: • Our capacity has dramatically reduced (around 65%) • We've reduced our ride capacity • Face masks now form part of our staff uniform • All ride cabins are sanitised after each journey every 15 minutes - this targets high touch areas and performed by a rides team member • All rides are deep cleaned every two hours - this is performed by multiple staff targeting wider areas within the cabin. • Hand sanitising stations are readily available across site including before and after every ride • Social distancing - this is included in our briefing with all visitors before starting the experience, reinforced by our rides team at each ride. We also have information on our website and signage across site Safe travels,

We had a great time. Everything was well organised (considering covid) and on time. We got some great footage.
The train ride was our favourite. Only very small feedback. Need more good souvenirs, especially for kids and have the cafe kitchen open a little longer serving hot food. Was closed when I came out at 3pm on a Sunday during school holidays . Was a perfect spot to have an afternoon feed but no food.

Had an incident with other visitors, the child tried to jump the queue. The staff were not helpful instead they escalated the situation by threatening all of us instead of trying to solve the problem.
We wrote and complained further, which they apologised and made an offer of free tickets for our family. To our surprise however, they backtracked and deleted their offer.
They lack of crowd management experience as well as professionalism. Love Blue mountains, always visited the area, but avoid Scenic World.

Our stop at Scenic World was part of an all day bus tour. After we arrived we took the cable car down which was kind of cool and then took a path that led to the cable car, which we took up. The cable ride offered great scenic views and the guide told the story of the rock formation called the three sisters. Ater that we rode the Sky Rail and then spent some time in the Cafe and the gift shop. Our group really enjoyed the experience.

Took our visiting relatives on a misty smokey January day. Little visibility and little crowd. Had a wonderful time at the rides, shop, cafe and the boardwalks regardless the weather. Blue mountain is magical any time, weather and this place allows us to Enjoy it in comfort with good coffee and lovely staff that makes me thoroughly regret not bought a yearly pass at the end of our visit. Definitely not to be missed! Cannot be compared to any other type of attraction and I have traveled extensively I would do it first thing in the morning. It is imperative that you book online .They also have some of the most knowledgeable and experienced staff working for them anywhere on the mountains.

I'm afraid I don't have much love for Katoomba's chief attraction - Echo Point which seems to be just there to process bus loads of tourists no take selfies of themselves and provide annoyance with drones. But Scenic World seems to get it right a whole lot more. The cable car across the gap in front of the Katoomba falls is fun, especially the glass-bottomed view. The funicular railway up and down and the other cable car down to the valley floor are nicely done too with engaging and fun staff. The valley floor boardwalk is done just right. If you want to do more, it's easy enough to pass out and into the National Park for more extended and beautiful walk but if your range is shorter, you can just take it slow amongst the trees of the valley floor. Signs of fire damage limited here although access to a few paths was blocked for flooding reasons but that should be finished now (2 weeks later). Nice to see somewhere that can process crowds do so really well.
