- ldk196500Beautiful and well done tourWell run, excellent guides Emily and Wayne did a great job. Snorkeling was good, whitehaven beautiful. They served a good lunch quickly and efficiently. Had lots of water for us to drink. Emily had lots of info on the area and fish.
- Jessica V00Best day of our visit to Airlie Beach. Beautiful snorkel locations, and Whitehaven beach did not disappoint. Our Redcat tour was the best day of our vacation to Airlie Beach. It even outperformed the reef safari tour to scuba dive at the outer barrier reef. Riley and Jacob were great guides.
- Aryan M00NOT RECOMMENDED FOR INTERNATIONAL TOURISTSWe faced racial discrimination, and our family of four was addressed as a singular entity instead of four separate individuals.
- 399elianaj00Live Laugh DonnaDonna took us to Cedar creek falls (to swim) and various crocodile infested waters (not for swimming). Donna was so friendly and we made wonderful conversation throughout the trip. She is very sociable and kind, we were so excited to see her for a brief moment the next day as well! She truly did make the trip an excellent time. We love Donna 💗💗💗
- 602ciaraf00Donnas a mad ladThe creek was so beautiful and the tour guide Donna was absolutely amazing and gave us the best experience we could ask for. Donna has our hearts ❤️.
- S4394VWmb0010/10Incredible day! Views were beautiful. Perfect time in each place before moving on. PK and Shannon are credits to the team. Both hilarious, chill and made the day as good as it was. Would recommend Redcat every time.
- birgitt75300Great experienceThe trip was very well organized, the team competent and friendly. For the snorkeling the group was too big for the spots, you were swimming very close to one another; at the first stop there was mainly coral, at the 2nd stop there were fish, nice to watch, but they come because they are fed. Lunch was in a nice bay, food okay, but not great. Whitsunday Haven beyond description
- 371briannaf00Donna was amazingWe wine on this tour during the dry season which despite not being able to see the waterfall, the experience at the creek and lunch were amazing and full of rich history! We had an amazing guide named Donna who was the absolute most kind-hearted and friendly person ever! She took time to get to know all of us and remembered details about our lives and what we were currently doing. She radiated the most loving energy and put the biggest smiles on our faces even when we got to see her a couple of days later on another tour! Donna seriously made our trip the best and we loved every second!
- 371lanak00Great snorkel and experience on hill inletWas a really great trip!! The music on the boat makes the drive there very vibey and you experience some amazing snorkelling
- dani_sc820010/10 would recommendNot fancying the overnight boats, but still wanting to experience the beauty of the Whitsundays, we opted for this day trip. Honestly can’t recommend enough. 2 amazing snorkel sites in the morning, great lunch on the boat and enough time to relax and take in the sights at Whitehaven beach in the afternoon. Shannon and PK were kind, friendly, enthusiastic and extremely attentive. Credits to the team and they made the day so enjoyable for everyone. Would recommend to anyone wanting a taste of the Whitsundays with only one day to do it!
- Home196700Red Cat AdventuresWe had a great day with Donna our tour guide Donna was so informative with the areas information & history the waterfall area was lovely even with the water fall not in action.. Morning Tea was nice we then went to Proserpine River in search of a crocodile 🐊 🤣 then on to Conway Beach .. Tide out & I mean out so had a walk on the sand. Last stop Northerlies Beach Bar & Grill amazing location & a beautiful lunch & a glass of chilled wine 😊 Thank You Donna you made our day. Highly recommend 🙌
- Passport62906000Amazing, amazing coral and fishIt was a great day. Boat was quiet and comfortable. The crew were friendly, professional and fun! I would highly recommend the tour.
- G7856PCdeborahm00Simply AmazingAmazing tour loved every bit of it, Fabian and Scott our guides/crew were fantastic so much fun and extremely knowledgeable, made the tour so much more enjoyable. The outer reefs filled with beautiful tropical fish and coral and Whitehaven Beach pristine and breathtaking so lucky to have this at our fingertips. Food was super delicious too, well worth going this such an expensive! 🤩🐠💛
- Stay5085248842600Amazing tripAmazing trip - our guide Emily and captain Dwayne were great and so helpful. Emily was really knowledgeable about the reef and snorkelling and as someone a bit nervous about snorkelling I had the best time ever - the fish snorkel was the best! I preferred being on a fast boat as it zipped around and we got to see 2 snorkel spots as well as Whitehaven beach so fit a lot in! Thanks so much- would definitely recommend!
- neosophie00Fab daySuch a fab day! Heaps of opportunity to snorkel, explore the lookout and the beach. Patrick and Riley were our tour guides/captain and had the best vibe! Good music, great food! Would definitely go again. Thanks for such a great day 🌞

We were very disappointed we wasted our money on this tour, advertised as a full day sailing with two snorkeling locations. We were informed when we boarded the catamaran that the boat is actually too heavy to sail and “it’s more of a motorcruiser”. If we had known that we would not have booked the tour, we deliberately chose a sailing trip. We took a motorised catamaran to an island and were then informed we wouldn’t be going to two locations as advertised, just one because it’s “less messing around”. So in the afternoon we were finally dropped at a very average snorkel location to swim around for 45 minutes, most people asked to go back to the boat early because there was nothing to see and it wasn’t worth the effort.
What a shame, we feel totally ripped off by this company. We contacted them afterwards because we did not receive what was advertised and what we paid for, and they totally dismissed our concerns. We’ll be taking this issue up with fair trade because it’s completely false advertising.
Save your money!!

Hi anarZ3389YN
Thank you for taking the time to review your recent tour on Tongarra.
We are sorry to hear that our trip did not live up to your expectations. With our full day tour we will always get the sails up and sail for as much of the trip as possible. Sometimes if there's not enough wind we will use the motor on Tongarra to give us that extra push to allow us to get to each location on time so we can give our guests enough time to make the most of the stunning locations that we visit.
We advertise that we visit two locations which are Langford Sandbar which is where you will have done the look out walk followed by Hook Island which is where you will have done your snorkel therefore fulfilling our promise of two locations.
The snorkel spot we take you to is Cockatoo Point which has the local nickname "Wonderwall" due to the huge wall of coral that surrounds this corner of Hook Island. This spot has always been known for it's vibrant colours and fantastic coral coverage.
If you would like to contact our office team on 07 4946 4444 to discuss your expereince further we always take our customers feedback extrememly seriously and are always trying to improve.
We hope to see you in Airlie Beach again for an other trip to show you the best we have to offer.

The crew on the Tongarra Day Sail are fantastic and the scenery is unbeatable but I feel I was somewhat mislead by the advertised itinerary. The advertising implies that there will be more snorkelling which is the reason we booked this rather than the Thundercat tour which we took last year. The promotional tour suggests that you can swim/snorkel from Langford Sandbar however, this was not offered as an option. Advertising also suggests that in addition to Langford, there are 2 more snorkelling locations. It was disappointing to find that there was only one relatively short snorkelling session at a location that in my opinion is not as good as the locations visited by Thundercat. In addition, for a “sailing” trip, there was no sailing involved. The boat was under motor for the entire day. Overall, we enjoyed our day, however, it is always disappointing when a company’s advertising is not equivalent to their service.

Hi GC_FamilyofThree
Thank you for taking the time to review your recent tour with us as part of our Tongarra Whitsundays.
I'm just trying to establish where you booked Tongarra to ensure there's no incorrect information. On our website the itinerary correctly states that we go to one snorkel location and then you have the option to snorkel at Langford. I'm sorry you were not offered the opportunity to snorkel at Langford as that is absolutely supposed to be an option during the day. The snorkel location you visited would have been Cockatoo Point which is the same coral based snorkel as Thundercat due to it's fantastic coral coverage earning it the nickname "Wonderwall"
We will always try to sail on Tongarra but sometimes the winds do not work in our favour so we need the assistance of our trusty motor.
We hope you were still able to make some fantastic memories to take back home with you,
Thank you for choosing Red Cat Adventures and we will see you soon 😊

Sailed the Tongarra to Langford sandbar/lookout and Snorkeled fringing reef off Hook Island. Nicko and Lacau absolutely made it great with their superior hospitality, natural friendliness, knowledge, sense of adventure, humour and passion for fun 🙂 great interactive bunch of passengers and had a beautiful sunset back to the Marina with 3 dolphins 🐬 swimming next to the front of the cat. Easily recommend this chillaxed style over a fast cat or 3 hour ride to the outer reef and 3 hours back. Seriously unwound from everything, relived Our youth and including a backflip of the cat and made some awesome new friends. Cheers and kudos to your fabulous crew. Love Love Loved everything about the day ❤️ Cheers from Shayne and Andreas

We did two full day tours with Redcat: the Whitsunday Sail and Snorkel on Tongarra and the Whitehaven Beach and Hill Inlet Lookout tour on the high-speed cat. These are two fantastic ways to experience a day on the water in the Whitsundays: excellent staff, excellent boats and perfect equipment (wetsuits and snorkeling gear). Sean was a great skipper on Tongarra and Mark was fantastic on the Thundercat. Jack was nothing short of amazing as our guide on both trips - fantastic with little kids, teenagers and adults. He made everyone feel special and his energy and enthusiasm did not waver for a second. He made both trips such a joy, looking after us, educating us and keeping us entertained without missing a beat.

we set sail at 9:30am very cloudy day but Korey & Nicko were very friendly & welcoming
we sailed for about 2 hours and stopped at a little island and went on a little bush walk Korey told us about some of the surrounding plants & trees. He also mentioned how we should start to become more concerned about rubbish which i thought was amazing personally! the walk lead us to a beautiful look out and Korey offered his photography skills.
we then went back to the boat chucked our wet suits on and all got a turn at the banana boat which is hurdles of fun!! after everyone had a go, we sailed away to our snorkelling spot which wasn’t too far from the bush walk area. we snorkelled for about 40 mins, we saw many types of fish none to big but we did see a giant clam which Korey had pointed out! then we headed back to Airlie which took about 3 hours but after all the swimming and spending time in the sun when it decided to show up was very relaxing, we got majorly wet on the way back but hey that was part of the fun sailing.. definitely not Nickos sailing :P It was quiet cold on the way back Nicko saw us shivering and offered us an extra jacket! the sunset was beautiful and pulling into airlie we even managed to see a Manta ray!! absolutely amazing experience and a wonderful crew. highly recommend

Hi Emily Jane
Thanks for taking the time to leave a review of your recent Tongarra Day Sail.
It's great to hear you had such a fabulous time on board with the legendary Korey and Nicko, they are such fun to be on board with and always have some good yarns to keep you entertained.
The sunset sail is a perfect way to end the day, and we are definitely a little jealous of your day ending with a sunset AND a Manta Ray!
Thanks for choosing Red Cat Adventures, we hope to welcome you on board again one day.

I was disappointed that we were only offered 1 snorkeling opportunity in the afternoon.
The advertisement for this experience suggested we would have multiple snorkeling opportunities, which is why we decided on this cruise.
It also states the first one would be before lunch, followed by snorkeling of the beach at Langford Sandbar with paddle boarding. Neither were offended.
We didn’t hit the water till the afternoon. So we were very hot after sitting in the sun most of the morning.
When we did snorkel it was awesome!
Despite this, we still had a very relaxing day. Nick and Jess were awesome and kept us entertained all day. They really made you feel relaxed and gave you a laugh. Couldn’t fault them.
Being able to relax on the deck in beanbags was great once the sun wasn’t so hot and being able to watch the sunset was just beautiful off the boat.
If you’re looking for a slow pace, relaxing day boating then this is perfect for you.
Make sure you bring plenty of sunscreen as there is not much shade unless the sails are up. Staff don’t have much control on having the sails up as it depends on the wind.
Cold drinks were offered on board for $3 but bring yourself along your own alcoholic drinks. They will store them in the big ice boxes they have.
You can bring extra nibbles but there are some biscuits and lamingtons for morning tea and cheese, cabana and dip for afternoon tea. Cold meats and salad with a roll for lunch.

Hi Lesley
Thank you for taking the time to review your recent Tongarra day Sail tour!
We appreciate you taking the time out of your day to provide us with some honest feedback. The Tongarra Day Sail includes one dedicated snorkel location which is from Hook Island.
We offer the chance to snorkel off Langford instead of doing the bush walk and if that was not offered to you we apologise for that.
It sounds like the rest of your day was pretty epic though and we're glad to see that Nick and Jess were able to keep you entertained all day, they're an epic combination.
Thank you for choosing Red Cat Adventures and we hope to see you again soon 😊

This is a really good trip, but not pure sailing as the motor is going all the time (but not very loud). I could smell diesel fumes though, unfortunately. The boat is set up to run the propeller and steering with hydraulic pressure, hence the diesel motor. The staff were very nice and worked together well as a team. Ian did a particularly good job of keeping it light-hearted but professional. I think there was about 20 passengers on the boat the day I went and that was a good number - not too crowded. The walk up Langford Island hill was good for the view (Cas giving interesting commentary), the banana boat was fun, and we did one snorkelling experience at Hook Island (Cas in the tender picking up people who wanted to finish earlier). I particularly liked it when the skipper Ben turned the motor down low and we cruised along quietly to watch the sunset . It was an enjoyable day and good value for money.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience on the Tongarra Day Sail. We appreciate your detailed feedback. It's good to know that you found the trip enjoyable and had a positive experience with the staff. The combination of activities like the hill walk, banana boat ride, and snorkeling, along with the quiet sunset cruise, sounds like a well-rounded day of adventure and relaxation. We're sorry to hear that the use of an engine affected your day. We use the engine as well as the sails to ensure we give our passengers as much time at each location as possible. If you decide to embark on another sailing adventure in the future, we hope it will be an even more enjoyable experience. Thank you for choosing this tour, and we appreciate your recommendation.

I went out on Tongara for a day of sailing, snorkeling and fun in the sun.
Our skipper for the day was Sean and his decky was Scotty. Sean and Scotty’s knowledge on the area was outstanding, they kept the group feeling safe at all times whilst educating us on the area that we were sailing in. Sean payed his respect to the indigenous people and told us stories of their past and the connection they have to the land and water. Sean’s love for the ocean was strong and it was amazing to experience and learn how we can enjoy the perks of sailing and snorkeling in the ocean while maintaining respect for it.
We got to get towed behind a dingy on an inflatable shark, we snorkeled with turtles and plenty of fish, we had good snacks and tunes all day. And to top it off we sailed back into the Marina to watch a magnificent sunset.
I highly recommend Tongara and I will most definitely be back on board again soon.
Cheers for an amazing day Red Cat and a big Cheers to Sean and Scotty.

Excellent crew with Captain Nicko and ably assisted by Jay Jay. Their enthusiasm and involvement with the 30 guests was deserving of 5 stars but the weather was typically Easter ( raining and cool ), though we had a bit of relief and sunshine towards the middle of the trip.
Quite a lot of sailing required to get to the activities and better weather would enhance that part of the trip. The snorkeling was a real highlight as there was an abundance of coral varieties and fish.
Lunch was simple but adequate for a day on the water. A good day despite the early weather and finished in the dark after a great sunset on return.

Didn’t go to all the places we were supposed to. Should call it the pussycat instead of the wild cat… very slow and not exciting plus we had to listen to the captain’s bad music all day. The Ocean Rafting was more exciting, did more and better value for money.

Hi there, are the under cover areas on the boat, to sit out of the sun?

The type of boat dictates how much space there is underneath, but generally yes. Although being outside in the fresh air means your less likely to get any sea sickness.

You will be guided by the tour operators, I certainly did swimming off Whitehaven and mana Ray bay. The tour operator supplied the stinger suit for each of us, best to be safe and enjoy your day risk free.
