- sonyamS3571TR0 contributions70 plus couple touring Australia on a Harley TrikeWOW, from the time we were picked up at our accommodation by Hazel in the bus with an absolutely wonderful informative commentary and tour of the reconstructed Durek homestead to the fantastic cruise with Joey on the so beautiful Ord River with afternoon tea. Thank you Joey for the laughs, the crocodile views and the Geography lesson. What an awesome 6 hours with fantastic guides. Lastly thank you Hazel for delivering us back to our accommodation. 👌😳❤Written 14 September 2024
- biancasR5980OF0 contributionsWorth it……. Thanks JoeyWas such an enjoyable experience. Joey is an absolute amazing tour guide. Knows so much about the history of the waterways and the fauna and flora of the Kimberley’s. He is very funny and entertaining…. He really made the trip, not to mention the most beautiful scenery, birds and wildlife. I recommend the Ord River Cruise through Triple J tours to all ages.Written 14 September 2024
- marilenam9920 contributionsDon’t miss the Ord River Cruise! The Ord River cruise with sunset was a truly excellent experience, and great value for money. Stunning scenery, great opportunity to spot wildlife with very informative and fun commentary by Robbo. Also great “warm-up” to the cruise with the visit to the homestead and historic background provided by Tony. We all loved it and warmly recommend it Thank you Triple J Tours! PS the scones were fantasticWritten 9 September 2024
- 13shubhas0 contributionsNot to be missed!Everything was perfect from pick up to drop off. We enjoyed the variety of scenery and experience by combining the bus to Durack Homestead and Lake Argly with the boat trip into the sunset on the Ord River. Learnt so much about the natural habitat, people and history of the area. Hazel (coach guide) and Joey (boat guide) were incredibly hospitable, knowledgeable and entertaining. Highly recommended!Written 6 September 2024
- paulsA3370SS0 contributionsA great drive and cruiseThis was a great experience. The bus picked us up from our Kununurra accommodation and stopped at a few spots to take photos and also at Durack House. The driver was very informative and made the drive enjoyable. The river boat cruise was fantastic. Our guide was highly entertaining and had a wealth of knowledge on the history of Lake Argle, the Ord river and surrounding region. I would highly recommend this Triple J tour.Written 31 August 2024
- A1160CLthomasg0 contributionsExilirating trip with great knowledge.Excellent narrative from Bus driver who picked us up in Kununurra, took us to Durack homestead, then onto the Triple J boat tour operated by Jeff. A fast exilirating ride again wonderfully narrated by Jeff, he spotted wildlife and stopped the boat to show us, explain features of the cruise and facts.Written 23 August 2024

- Sam197619760 contributionsOutstandingAbsolutely brilliant the only negative was we just spent 2 days at Lake Argyle so the bus portion of the cruise was a bit wasted had we looked closer at he itinerary we would have gone directly to Kununurra and by passed Lake Argyle. Apart from that commentary on both bus and boat was of a very high standard in both knowledge and personality, scenery was outstanding, afternoon tea exceptionally organised given Joey our boat captain was the only staff member looking after us. Highly recommend.Written 8 August 2024

What a fantastic way to spend an afternoon! From the moment Jeff picked us up from our hotel until he dropped us back in the evening, the day was a magical experience. The cruise departed from Kununurra and went all the way to the Ord River Dam wall. Along the way Jeff pointed out the many features of the area from landscape to the wildlife. His knowledge of the area was amazing and his commentary was really informative including naming the many bird species the live around the Lake, showing the crocodile breeding areas, and knowing where to have the best sightings of the many freshwater crocodiles that inhabit the lake. On arriving at the dam wall, he spoke about the history and the construction of the dam. On the trip back to Kununurra, Jeff took us through some narrow creeks, pointing out the many different aspects between the creeks and the main river. On the way we back we stopped and disembarked, to enjoy an afternoon tea with pumpkin scones, cake and fresh fruit. Throughout the trip Jeff was more than happy to answer questions, stop for photographs and generally do whatever his passengers wanted to do. The boat was very comfortable, clean and powerful. On the way back to Kununurra we were caught in the first storm of the wet season, where we all got pretty wet due to wind making the rain almost horizontal, but everything dried off very quickly and it just added to the fun of the afternoon.
We would highly recommend this tour as a"must do" for anyone fortunate enough to visit the East Kimberley. Thank you Jeff and your team for a wonderful experience.

This was a great day out -flawlessly organised ,with the bus pick up at Freshwater Apartments -to Lake Argyle , with a stop at the interesting Durack Homestead , before being dropped at the boat for our trip down the Ord River , with the very informative Jeff at the helm .
There is a lot to see along the river, with amazing birdlife and vegetation , and Jeff knew where to look for everything .After a tasty afternoon tea - (also carefully managed by Jeff ) we arrived in Kununurra just in time for a superb sunset .

We went on the Triple J tour (J4) - Ord River Explorer with sunset. Grant was our tour guide and he was excellent and very knowledgeable regarding the area, wildlife and fauna/flora. A very comfy boat, and there were soft drinks and water on board. It was wonderful. Magnificent scenery with beautiful colours. We saw lots of wildlife/birds. We went as far as the Lake Argyle Dam, it was very interesting hearing about the dam, irrigation, rainfall etc. We stopped for cake and a cup of tea at a wonderful little spot. Sunset was amazing. Would recommend.

The afternoon tour with Triple J Tours was a beauty to say the least! An information packed trip to Lake Argyle, then after a quick look around the resort at the dam wall, we bordered the cruise boat for the 55 kms trip back to Kununurra.
This exceeded our expectations, it was packed with info and stats on the dam and Old river, stopped for a delightful afternoon tea on the riverbank, and as the evening approached, great sunset views and an insight to the wildlife both in the water and along the banks!
The boat was powered by plenty of horsepower and we varied from racing along to quietly cruising the backwaters looking for fresh water crocs and a myriad of birds.
If time had permitted we would have returned for a cruise on Lake Argyle itself another day.
A truly 100% tour to do.

Enjoyed all of it. Jeff somehow managed to look after a full boat on his own because of a lack of staff due to Covid border restrictions. He managed to provide very knowledgeable commentary on all the wildlife we saw which was a lot, a substantial afternoon tea, drinks on the way to and from the Ord Dam. A long day but absolutely worth it. Thoroughly recommend it and we loved it. Thank you Jeff and Tripe J Tours.

I thoroughly recommend this tour. Josh was very informative despite only having been in the Kimberley’s since February and didn’t crash the boat. The afternoon tea break was generous, and the final touch was watching the sun set over Lake Kununurra. If you like speed, the fast shallow sections are quite exhilarating. Of course the highlight is the scenery.

If you are looking for a fantastic day exploring the gorges, river systems, bird and aquatic life..this j4 tour is 110- 115 kms of expertly skippered...and navigated river, at times narrow and fast moving.
The entertainment value on board is priceless, as skipper Jeff banters with passengers: his local knowledge of aquatic, botanical, geological, bush feeds, bird life and eco systems, just to mention a few; adds a wealth to this trip.. just sensational..
From pick up to drop off, Tripple J offer more than just a tour, you'd be crazy, and missing a fabulous East Kimberley experience....
As well as the best pumpkin scones!!

We loved our Ord River cruise from Kununurra to Lake Argyle and back again. Our skipper was great and provided excellent company and information. The vessel was excellent too.
However, upon reaching Lake Argyle on the way upriver we were delayed having to wait for a bus load of additional passengers going back one way to Kununurra. Unfortunately the bus delivering them got a flat tyre. This in turn meant the trip back was somewhat rushed and we only captured the last bit of sunset before the sun was down (seemed less than a minute) ... a significant part of the trip so disappointing (thus only 4 stars).
I understand that we were victims of unexpected circumstances but believe JJJ could put in place better risk mitigation strategies should this happen in the future.

Thank you for taking the time to write us a review.
We are very pleased to hear that you overall enjoyed your trip with us.
Very sorry to hear that you were impacted by the delay of the second group arriving. Sometimes things like that happen and are unavoidable.
Generally our skippers would adjust their tour timings to make sure that the sunset is still factored in.
We will certainly put some more thought into how best to avoid this situation moving forward.
Again, we are very please to hear you enjoyed the experience and look forward to welcoming you back on-board one day soon.

What a fabulous day ! We were picked up from our accommodation at 11.30am by bus . We drove up to Lake Argyle and the Ord River dam where we boarded the boat. Our bus driver Dave was great giving us loads of information as we went along . On the boat Grant took over , stopping all along the way to point out freshwater crocodiles and interesting birds. We took the boat all the way back to Kununurra arriving just after sunset and were driven back to our accommodation. An excellent tour with excellent guides.

What a fantastic trip with Diylan!
Took us from the dam wall down to Kununurra.
His eye for spotting wildlife is amazing, don’t think we missed a croc, wallaby or bird.
This man should get Tour Guide of the Year award.
His handling of the boat was superb as was his local knowledge.
The talk he gave about the whole system of Lake Argyl, Ord River, Lake Kununurra and the dam just made it all click as to how it all works.
Thank you so much Dylan, have done a lot of tours and this is certainly the most memorable.
