          Sunset Magic Cruise
What a wonderful experience! I had the pleasure of doing the Sunset Magic Cruise and it was more then I expected. The shear vastness of the lake was so impressive but also the knowledge of Claire the guide. It highlights all the great aspects of a tour- water (swimming as well), native animals, local history and even some yummy drinks and nibbles during sunset. Highly recommend this tour but anything the company offers would be great.

          Lake Argyle Boat hire
Great day on the water, some showers of rain made for some great shots of the water falls! Rain didn’t bother us with the covered pontoon boat. Easy to deal with and great staff 🙂

The must do tour while in the Kimberleys
We have been travelling Australia since September 2023 and have been on some amazing tours but this one was by far the most amazing and fantastic one we have been on. We seen rock wallabies, baby crocodiles, adult crocodiles and fed some amazing fish (that spit on you). Scenery was out of this world and Clare our guide was fabulous - a wealth of knowledge. Having a cheese platter and glass of wine while swimming in Lake Argyle was the topping on the cake. If you do one tour this is the one you need to do.

          A must do!
Amidst the stunning scenery, led by the exceptional skipper Greg, embark on a dip in the refreshing waters, followed by a delightful sip and snack. Greg's friendly disposition and wealth of knowledge about the area and wildlife make the experience truly unforgettable!

          Memorable afternoon with fabulous crew
We are repeat customers of the Lake Argyle sunset cruise as we live to showcase the beautiful Kimberley to friends and family who visit. Greg and his fantastic team are so knowledgeable and fun - you are assured a wonderful experience in one of the most spectacular and under-rated parts of Australia I've ever been.

          Do this!!
Lake Argyle is one of the most beautiful places in the world, in my opinion. I have been on two cruises with Lake Argyle Cruises and now hired the BBQ boat. Each time I have been blown away by the professionalism, friendliness, and knowledge that the Lake Argyle Cruises team possess. Could not recommend them more highly. If you are coming to the East Kimberley, do yourself a favour and spend a few days at Lake Argyle and book a couple of cruises with Lake Argyle Cruises.

Worth every penny and more !!!
I did the sunset cruise and had the most amazing experience! The team had a lot of knowledge on the lake and its inhabitants and were so welcoming and friendly. First met Bruce in the office who later drove us to the boat and Argie made sure to introduce himself too. Our Skipper/Guide was Claire and she was beyond brilliant. A wealth of knowledge and more than happy to answer questions or make you more comfortable however she could. It was off season to see the croc sunbathing on the shores but we did get the pleasure of seeing some baby croc fresh from hatching which was cuter than you’d expect. Finished off with a sunset swim and a beer - what more could you want ! Will hopefully get back to do it again sometime. Thanks to all at Lake Argyle Cruises.

          Best Sunset Cruise!
My son and I did the sunset cruise last week. We did it a couple of years ago and had such fun we decided to do it again. Bruce drove us from Kununurra to the Lake sharing information along the way. We then boarded the boat with Greg for our cruise. It is so much fun! Greg has a wealth of knowledge of the lake and the area. Highly recommend doing the sunset cruise when you visit Kununurra and Lake Argyle. The champagne and nibbles are always lovely.

          Very good
We had a great time paddle boarding in the morning and then BBQ pontoon for the afternoon. It’s November so the lake was empty (as far as we knew!) so very peaceful. Our guide lady was great fun and knowledgeable. My only mini critique would be that the printed map given to us should use a google-map image rather than what we assume is a maritime one, as it was tricky to follow with scales being different. Google map at least looks like what can be seen visually. Very good all round though!

          Remote wonders on Lake Argyle
What a delightful experience, from our bus pick up to our return from a beautiful afternoon. The time passed quickly with so much to see, hear about and experience. We were so thrilled to see the Short Eared rock wallabies! And very lucky to witness a female Freshwater crocodile attending to her nest. Thanks very much to knowledgeable friendly Greg, skipper and fabulous tour guide Claire, and smiling bus driver Bruce for a truly memorable few hours on Lake Argyle.

          Definitely do!
This trip was awesome. Malcolm and Chris were excellent hosts and took such good care of us. It was a great mix of education, fun and sightseeing. The swim at the end was outstanding - such a great place to spend an evening. The drinks and nibbles were also great. Would recommend to anyone!

Wonderful sunset boat cruise! Highly recommended!
We had an excellent boat trip with Chris, Malcom and Billy, who made this experience unique! They do a great job, Chris knows so much about the region and they really seem to like what they’re doing!! Thanks for everything!

          Captain Greg should retire
Greg, was going through the motions and displayed zero enthusiasm for the cruise. He has great knowledge and shared it with the absolute wrong attitude today. He was tight with the drinks and the snacks were also rubbish. Go with the other company (we did yesterday).

          Best ever
This was one of the best value for money cruises I have been on. The crew were very good, and gave us the history of the area. This cruise was very good value for money, with a couple of beer and nibbles on the way. Fish, crocodiles and a couple of swims. Highly recommended.

An awesome tour run by super-friendly people
I went on the Sunset tour for $99/person. I was predisposed to give this cruise 5 stars even before we hit the water based on how the cruise operator helped me by supplying a place to charge my car while we were out on the water after the holiday park decided suddenly to stop this. Then I got out on the water and was just blown away! The skipper was very knowledgeable about the area and wildlife, taking us to see short-eared rock wallabies, freshwater crocodiles, as well as numerous fish and birds. The lake itself is beautiful, a beauty that was oddly enhanced by a haze of smoke creating an eerie mystery to the distant landmarks. We got several opportunities to swim, which was fantastic on such a hot day. I will never forget floating around in the lake, delicious drink in hand, floating food platter drifting past as a giant orange-tinted sun dropped below the horizon.

A day out on a boat is always a good thing…. particularly surrounded by stunning scenery. Whilst this cruise covered a vast area, I really think it could be condensed which would make it more enjoyable. Catering was a subway roll or wrap and a dry biscuit or two…. a cold drink, and a luke warm cup of tea…. which again is fine, as long as your expectations aren’t different. Seats were comfortable and in my opinion the highlight of the cruise was a dip in the middle of the Lake at sunset… with a glass of champagne (or a beer)… but be wary not to ask for a second one, you will be told in no uncertain terms that you can have one later. The skipper/owner Greg was knowledgeable but to be honest, it seemed to us (travelling with 6 people) that he really didn’t want to be there. He was not welcoming.. and I think the day would have been more enjoyable if he had someone who was more customer service orientated. Just a smile or two would have done wonders.

The scenery of Lake Argyle is undeniably spectacular, tour leader Greg is not.
Rude and condescending, he seems to be more precoccupied about where milk is located rather than solving the issue by simply placing an sign on top of an esky.
But the rudeness got worse during the trip, until the final straw, when I requested a champagne for sunset drinks he barked at me “don’t shove a glass in my face, I’ll get to you when I’m ready .”
Please learn some simple PR skills and stop being so arrogant. We get you’re under the pump doing a trip on your own - employ an offsider.
A boat load of tourists equals $7000 , enough to pay 2 wages I would have thought.
The sunset was totally ruined for me.

Hi there, We are very sorry that you didn't enjoy your sunset cruise with us. Unfortunately this year, like everywhere in the Kimberley's, we've had a massive staff shortage and all employees are over worked. We're sorry this affected your cruise though and ruined your experience. We hope you might be able to try another cruise with us one day and make your next experience meet your expectations that you had in the first place. Kind regards, The team at Lake Argyle Cruises.

Had an awesome afternoon cruising on Lake Argyle with Greg. The weather was perfect and Greg is an informative and entertaining host. We learnt of the history of the lake and surrounding area and saw some of the local wildlife. The Archer fish were quite hilarious. The scenery is beautiful, and amazing colours in the sky at sunset. After touring the lake, we made a stop just before sunset so we could watch the glorious sky and also take a dip in the lake. Noodle floats, dips , beer and bubbles were all supplied. Was such fun floating on a noodle while drinking a glass of bubbly, while the dip platter floated by on an upturned esky lid and such a glorious setting to do it in. Would recommend this fun & informative tour.

A wonderful day out with Lake Argyle Cruises. You can only truly appreciate Lake Argyle from the water, and we did it in style with a purpose built boat and an excellent commentary. Swimming in the lake was a great experience, especially our sunset swim. Exploring for zebra rock and seeing our first Jabiru are great memories to take home. Highly recommend this value for money Best of Lake Argyle tour.

Fabulous day out. Bruce the coach driver was very informative on local plants and trees and made the drive really enjoyable. Greg was really fantastic, great dry humour and also very informative on all aspects of Lake Argyle. Just loved swimming at sunset too, didn’t think I would but felt very safe with Greg. This is a must if you have the time.

This cruise will fill your day with amazing experiences, from beautiful scenery, wonderful swimming opportunities, birdwatching and so much more. We were able to search for zebra rocks on a little island, had drinks and nibbles WHILE swimming in the lake (yes, you can float crackers and dips on the lid of an eski, did you know?). This was a most relaxing day, with truly amazing experiences! I walked away with countless and priceless snapshots, and had the best time! To make things easy just wear your bathers under your clothes...

This full day tour was one of our highlights from our 4 week road trip.
Starting out early in the morning with a prompt hotel pick-up, we embarked on an entertaining and informative boat cruise up the river with Jason. Heaps of birdlife, history and geography lessons and the odd croc. A welcome lunch on the banks and then off to explore more of the river system.
Arriving at the dam wall after a few memorable hours cruising, we hopped on a bus for the next part of the tour out to the Durack Homestead.
Back down to the water and onto another boat for our cruise out onto Lake Argyle.
Simply stunning scenery and mind boggling stats at how big / how much water.
More bird life, fish feeding and croc spotting.
Then it was time to throw caution to the wind and jump off the boat and have a sunset swim alongside, enjoying a cold beverage and snacks and sharing the unreal experience with other travelers. Mitch the skipper had us in hysterics with his commentary the whole time.
We returned to shore after dark and boarded the coach for the trip back to the hotel.
It was quite an exhausting day, sitting on your bum, being entertained!
Everyone who was involved in making the tour run smoothly, did their job perfectly.

Overall good trip. We participated in the morning Cruse on Monday 17th July 2023.

Lake Argyle Cruses have great facilities, and outstanding vessels and location. The venue sell’s itself, however, its unfortunate the guide we had of the day, did not reflect this high standard.

It was the first time in a long time that we have experienced a tour guide and ultimately an ambassador of both a location and organisation, that has conducted themselves with this level of arrogance. This individual appeared to take pleasure in belittling anyone who dare ask a questions. I found this odd, as on 7 separate occasions, he did actually ask for people to ask questions, however 4 different people, including myself, asked valid, well-articulated questions, only to receive a smartly worded arrogant and belittling reply. Perhaps we got him on a bad day, however I don’t believe so, as he appeared to take pleasure in the delivery of his below standard reply. Perhaps his replies were demonstrating his lack of knowledge on the topics, including the history of the region, and rather that confirming he did not know the answer, took joy in making people feel uncomfortable.

Would we visit again? Yes with the hope we would strike it lucky for a different guide. Would we visit again with the same skipper, definitely not!
