- Nick B0 contributionsTouring with Marty... Unforgettable fun! What a fantastic day of fun with friends and a great group! From the seamless pickup and drop off by friendly Pete to the super well organised activities, we thoroughly enjoyed it. Massive shout out to Marty, our tour guide, who made the day unforgettable with his hilarious witty banter and extensive knowledge of the area, wines and foods we enjoyed. 10/10! From Yorkshire NickWritten 17 January 2025
- Patty C0 contributionsGreat experienceWow this owner went absolutely over the top to help us get a great experience. Our cruise ship moved in our time to leave the same day. The owner picked us up personally and drove us back to the ship in time to catch our last tener back to the ship. During travel we were told the story of Busselton. Her knowledge was over the top amazing. Once we were with the tour it continued to be just outstanding fun and history sharing. Don’t use anyone else in our opinion but this company. We will return to Busselton to see the caves with this tour company Thanks for this wonderful experienceWritten 13 January 2025
- Olivia H0 contributionsamazingAbsolutely amazing experience with a fabulous guide Reece❤️ we had the best day getting to try lots of different beautiful local wines … and some crocodile 🐠🐠 the final stop at the brewery has to be a highlight for me! Such a fun way to see the area, get a little drunk with new people and appreciate some amazing produce. Thank you so much to Reece for making the day so fun and easy + all the tips. Highly recommend.Written 12 January 2025

- Jarrod T0 contributionsBloody ripper day out! A must if you’re heading to Margs! My mate and I came down and we had booked the Bushtucker tour. Our tour guide was Marty and he was a ripper bloke! His local knowledge of the region along with his cracker stories and humour made the day one of the most memorable ones I’ve had in Margs. The entire booking process was simple and I was kept in the loop re: pickup, timing etc for the whole time. The food was great, as a bushtucker enthusiast, I thoroughly enjoyed it! I love doing tours wherever I go but these guys know how to put a great, professional show on. Cant recommend enough! Thanks guys!Written 13 September 2024
- Peter M0 contributionsA good day out in Margaret RiverMarty was a great tour guide. Good sense of humour and excellent knowledge. Bush food lunch well explained by Marty, and amazingly tasty. Enjoyed the vineyards and tastings. Could have left the chocolate shop visit out - no tastings, just a retail shop. Last brewery stop could have been longer as there were some great beers. A good day out.Written 18 June 2024
- Teaching with M0 contributionsFriendly tour guide, rushed dayTour guide was lovely and very friendly. The bush tucker lunch was definitely an amazing experience and absolutely enjoyed it. Apart from that we felt like the day was rushed a bit and some places we wasted time waiting around while others were too rushed. The first place we went to for tastings was the best and if the other places would have been the same then this would probably be a 4-5 star review. The first place the lady explained to us about the wine, how to properly taste wine and the difference. In each tasting she gave us about 3 mouth fulls of wine which is a good serving for a tasting. Day was off to a good start. Then it went downhill. The other places we went to were rushed. Felt like they were trying to quickly finish the wine tasting to get onto the next one. We were lucky to get 1 mouthful per tasting and the people didn’t explain very well and were not very friendly. I reckon out of the whole day which was 6-7 hours long I would have had a total of 3 glasses of wine, not even enough to put me over the driving limit. I got home a drove to dinner. One place after our tasting we waited there for 40 minutes before going to our next place which forced everyone to need to buy something to eat and drink otherwise we would just be sitting there doing nothing for 40 minutes. The most disappointing part was that there was not cheese factory. That’s the main reason I booked this one over some others. I found out afterwards that the cheese factory is temporarily closed. They should not be advertising this in their ad if we are not stopping by the cheese factory. Overall, the tour guide was really good but would not recommend this specific one to friends.Written 7 June 2024

- 712mickf0 contributionsWine tasting in Margaret RiverPicked up on time, from our guest house. Very interesting day, including lots of samples of wine, liquors, chocolate and food. Steve, the driver and guide, was very informative about the wines and area. The meal was all original local foods. A very enjoyable experience.Written 20 March 2024
- Shakey100 contributionsAmazing tour in a beautiful region - and great value!Overall an amazing day! From the quick email confirmation for my dietary and disability requirements, to the SMS confirmation of pick-up time the day before, and the pick-up from my accommodation in Busselton, it was a brilliant day. I was solo, but there were 12 others on the tour. Steve the tour guide was friendly and informative, and very approachable throughout the day. The lunch spread he put out was excellent, with a wide range of native ingredients, all labelled and context given as needed. Vegetarian was well catered for, as was the range of meats. Visited three wineries, two of which were great. The other (Knotting Hill) seemed annoyed that I was on the tour alone, preferring the people in pairs, and definitely focused on only making sales. Cape Naturaliste wines and Woody Nook wines were both lovely, great surrounds and staff. Grove distilling, Cheeky Monkey brewery and Margaret River chocolates were all excellent too. The only downside was that the bus we were on was pretty old and noisy and sounded on the verge of breakdown at times! That said, I felt completely safe and was delivered back to my accommodation on time. Cannot recommend this tour company enough - I got to see the region, taste lots (and lots!) of different drinks, learn a lot about the history and landscape, eat some amazing native ingredients, and best of all, not risk driving myself.Written 19 March 2024
- magicmombo0 contributionsBest tour in Margaret River with a knowledgable guide!I went on two winery tours while I was in Margaret River and this one was by far the best! I admit, I was a little hesitant because of the name of the tour but it turned out,it was a tour with people that were interested in getting to know the wine, not just in getting drunk. Our guide Greg was so knowledgeable, warm friendly and totally accommodating to each individual guest. He provided fascinating stories about the region and the history. The lunch was also very interesting. It included indigenous foods and the stories behind them. Pick-up and delivery was right on time and it seemed that this company had a good relationship with all the wineries we visited.Written 19 March 2024

I am a local Perth, WA person and would highly recommend this tour - for some nature discovery, exercise, fun with kids etc - it had it all.
Ali was our guide and she was completely generous, clear in her instructions and whevever presenting information. And she was so energised and focused. Our group had mixed people of ages and strength so she really did a great job and stepped up whenever needed. She was absolutely magnanimous in her guidance, so thank you Ali!
It was a great day all 'round - very Aussie, relaxed and fun!

We (family of 4, including a 13 and 11 year old) went on the Margaret River Canoe tour yesterday, with Dan as our tour guide. We had one canoe for the four of us. Including lunch the trip took just over 2 hours.
The views were beautiful, Dan’s commentary about the history of the local area was captivating and really well delivered, with a good sense of humour. We paddled up the river and stopped at a number of sightseeing places, before paddling back to a lunch spot in a grassed area.
The lunch was a delicious spread of smoked meats (including Kangaroo, Emu and Crocodile, as well as Chicken for the less adventurous), and a range of chutneys and pestos, and local fruits all with connections to the land, served with two types of locally baked bread. There was ample food for everyone in the group, and it was great to taste all the different items. Dan explained where each of the items came from and the history behind them.
It was a good fun trip out for all of us, and I would highly recommend it as an activity to undertake while in the Margaret river area. All the family enjoyed it.

Hellen has a wealth of fascinating historical knowledge that kept us enthralled and wanting to learn more 😃
Her positive bubbly personality was refreshing even when the weather turned for the worst. 😅 We were well protected from the rain 🌧 with ponchos being provided.
The bushtucker was delicious and substantial with a huge variety of ingredients! The best I’ve ever had. 😋 A real surprise compared with previous experiences.
The wide canoes 🛶 we’re very stable going up the picturesque river. Our little 4 year old enjoyed it.
I would highly recommend this tour for all ages.
Kind regards Anna 😁

I'll start by saying that this tour is great for all ages and skill levels. The tour is more about discovery of the local lore, flora, fauna, and experiencing some local swimming holes. Our guide Kim was very knowledgeable and able to explain things in a way so both kids and adults wanted to hear more.
The canoeing is pretty simple and a mix of people helps to keep the paddling interesting. There are a lot of things to see and experience both in the canoe and out. We all enjoyed the lunch session where Kim laid out some local edible plants and had each of us try them. Even a couple that were not great tasting were worth the experience.
Advice: Bring lots of sunscreen, hats, swimsuit, and be ready to relax.

We decided to go last minute and great decision it was !
There was only 3 of us and we shared the canoe trip with our excellent tour guide Dan
He was so nice very helpful and informative
He showed enthusiasm and enjoyment in his work and made us feel welcome .
We hope to get Dan again when we try the beer and wine tours next .
Only criticism would be for the money you pay , that the company offer a bottle of water fir each of us , would be nice gesture to go with the lovely picnic We were however offered water in cups at least .

She is extremely knowledgeable and passionate tour guide, she also looked after everyone very well.
We were not only enjoyed the amazing view from the river but also learned lots from her conversation!

We did this tour about 12 years ago as a couple and as far as I remember it was during the cooler months.
We had a ball then and this year we decided to go as a family with my 8 year old daughter.
We had the privilege of having Helen the owner of the Bushtucker tours in out canoe and she kept us informed about the fantastic history of the Bussell family and the early history of settlement in the area along with her amazing knowledge of all the local plants and what they era used for.
After a refreshing swim in the beautiful river we had a fantastic buffet lunch made from a lot of the above mentioned plants, it was beautiful and I can honestly say there wasn't anything that I didn't like.
Do yourself a favor and book this trip, I can happily say we would do it again and again.

Outstanding service and fantastic tour very very informative, would HIGHly recommend for all levels of fitness and interest. Very knowledgeable tour guide who set a comfortable pace and held a thoroughly enjoyable picnic with bush tucker on the banks of the river.

We LOVED the Bushtucker Canoe Tour. Greg was such a great leader and so knowledgeable. He also put together an amazing bush tucker lunch for us, everything was delicious! We don’t often do tours but can highly recommend this one - our guide, the length of the tour, the food - all a 10/10 for us.

July is wintertime, but don't let that put you off. Jason was a great guide; he was fun, knowledgeable, and safe. He engaged our teenage girls and the younger children of a family who were also on the trip. We had local history, stories, legends and nature pointed out to us. We also saw the resident osprey. We were told about the uses for certain plants, used leaves to make soap to wash our hands - all the kids loved this (and adults). The lunch was yummy, and all sourced from the Bush. Next time we're back, we will definitely try one of their wine tours.

hallo, ich möchte gerne wissen, ob es außer der 4-stüdigen Kanutour auch eine 6-stündige Tour zu buchen gibt.

I think this is a standard tour along the river with no extended options Its well worth it though - really amazing tour with heaps of local information and fabulous bush food to try.

My best guess - yes ............ the meat / cheese was kept separate from the other items ... we had dips and a wonderful bread --- rice cakes were provided IF you were gluten free. Of course, I didn't know the ingredients of the dips ..... there was fruit .. while the food was a good portion of the experience -- there is more than just eating the food - sourcing and aboriginal food history was very interesting ...........

What is the cost per person? We are visiting the area in April for my husband's 70th birthday - it is a big family group (10 adults and 8 children) - what would the approximate cost be?
Written 15 February 2019
I can't exactly remember what the canoe trip cost but it wasn't extravagant and included lunch. The guide was really good with one family with young children and a timid elderly grandmother so I can thoroughly recommend it for a family outing. There are 3 man canoes and much bigger ones, and on our trip the guide went in a big canoe with the above-mentioned family.
