- sprc19660 contributionsDo yourself a favour! What an amazing day. Spent some time at four friendly wineries, sampling an extremely tasty selection of Tamar Valley wines. Lunch at The Duck was delicious. Our tour guide was knowledgeable, friendly and entertaining. Will definitely do this again when I’m back this way. Great value for money - highly recommended!!Written 17 January 2024
- 623JulieE0 contributionsGreat Introduction to the areaThank you Gillian for a fantastic wine tour. We left all winery selections up to her as it was our first time in the area, and we were not disappointed! Lunch at The Ducks was delicious and the setting is beautiful. We will definitely book another private tour with Gillian and Terry when we return to the region.Written 4 January 2024
- TownsvilleNQQLD0 contributionsA wonderful day.Great day, Terry was easy going and informative, bit intimidated at first as an older couple with 5 young people/couples on the bus, but they were so nice, friendly and warm, and we had a wonderful afternoon tasting great wines.Written 20 December 2023
- Merry1040 contributionsRelaxing wine/gin tasting tour…A comfortable and thoroughly enjoyable tour with Terence and 8 fellow travellers (later, our best friends after the gin and wine tastings..!). Terry was a quietly thoughtful and knowledgeable guide and our day was a relaxing experience visiting the four vineyards and distillery. Our charcuterie lunch at Cabbage Tree Vineyard was generous and delicious. Highly recommended!Written 27 October 2023
- Wilson D0 contributionsBest of the best, a must-do tour in TasmaniaI've joined several wine tasting tours all over the world, but this is the best of the best! Highly recommend! Tamar Valley is very unique and beautiful. Terry offered me a VVVIP tour, he is very knowledgeable and charming, showed me 4 lovely vineyards and a special Gin place, all of them are great. This is the must-do tour in Tasmania. Thanks Terry, you made my trip in Launceston complete;)Written 25 September 2023
- rosemarym3000 contributionsA Fabulous DayI've been on quite a few wine tours and this was one of the best. Kieran was easy going and amiable and the tour ran to time. The wineries that we visited were all quite different and took very little time to reach. Everyone on our tour found something they liked, whether it was the sparkling, a white or one of the many Pinots we tasted. The Meal at The Ducks was delicious and the staff were lovely. The stand out was Cabbage Tree Winery, the last on the trip. The Pinot Noir there was beautiful and the white were in the Marlborough style.Written 15 June 2023

- Tourist6183420 contributionsAN ABSOLUTE STANDOUT!!AN ABSOLUTE STANDOUT!! We were so lucky to have Terry as our tour guide – his knowledge of all things Tasmanian – history, dates, events and, of course, about the art and science of wine, was absolutely amazing!! My husband and I went to 4 wineries (all of which had the most beautiful wines) and a gin distillery (the best gin we have ever tasted!) and had an awesome meal at The Ducks restaurant!! The chef and owner of the Duck even picked a bunch of his Pino Noir grapes from the vine for us to try – they were surprisingly small, dark and sweet – yum! We were also incredibly lucky that the wine maker and owner of one of the vineyards invited us to see the de-stemming process and took us into the fermentation room – how amazing was that!! This was a wonderful day filled with an amazing amount of learning – about history, about wine making, about high-quality Tasmanian wine, gin, distilling processes, barrel making, food and just simply – lots of fun!! We cannot recommend this tour highly enough – your Tasmania visit will not be complete without it!! A special thank you to Linda at our first winery – you really helped us understand the process of vintage and non-vintage wine, and also to Jules at our last winery (Cabbage Tree Hill Winery) – wish we could party with you one day – your hospitality and personality is equally as impressive as your very, very high quality wines!! Terry – our thanks. We will never forget the day we spent with you and Tamar Valley Wine Tours. We hope to join you again in the future. Cheers Robyn & DarrelWritten 9 April 2023

- hon3630 contributionsHon from mainlandWe were in Tasmania and on the way back to Devenport we did the Tamar Valley wine tour. The tour operator was onetime. We were picked up from where we were staying. Despite only 2 of us the tour went ahead. We sample various cool climate sparkling to Pinot Noir, Gin and cheeses. It was value for money and such obliging tour operator. It was a memorable moment. Recommending tho those who loves Tasmanian wine including Sparkling methode Tasmanoise. As we can not call Champanoise.Written 17 February 2023

Terry organised a fantastic day, taking our group to 4 great wineries and a lovely restaurant for lunch (with a beverage of choice) which was included in the tour cost. We were picked up promptly at 11am from our hotel in Launceston and dropped off at 6pm. Terry is very personable and extremely knowledgeable about the wine industry in the Tamar Valley. He is also a very safe driver. The staff at each winery were friendly, passionate about their wine and very informative. We highly recommend booking with Tamar Valley Wine Tours for a very enjoyable day whilst staying in Launceston.

We had an absolutely fantastic time. The group we met were enjoyable company. Wine tasting was plentiful and the lunch at Ducks Bar & Restaurant was well worth it. Our tour Guide Terry was very friendly and knowledgeable and made the tour one to remember. The winery hosts made us all feel very welcome and their stories were very interesting. Would thoroughly recommend going on a Tamar Valley Wine Tour with this company.

Terry was a gracious host, the Cellar Doors we visited were all different and very welcoming, including the home of David and Liz from Hinton Bay. Lunch was a welcome stop and by the end of the day our group of six were almost like a family. We had shared stories, experiences, photos, food, Pinot Noirs and sparkling wines.

Tamar Valley Wine tours was one of the best wine tours we’ve been on in Australia. Gillian was so helpful in accommodating us during the off season. Terry our driver was so friendly and really well informed about the wineries in the region & provided us with lots of history and interesting facts about the area throughout the day. We got the chance to visit three wineries, one distillery and a stop off in the beautiful Duck restaurant for a really delicious lunch, all of which was at a leisurely and relaxing pace. The vegan and vegetarian options provided for our lunch were really tasty too. And of course, the wines lived up Tassie’s reputation for having some of the best wines on the world stage. Would highly recommend Tamar Valley Wine tours as a must-do for anyone in Launceston .

Hi Catherine, we’re blushing right now! So grateful for your feedback. It’s a reflection of the quality and balance of deliciousness with food and wine without rushing your time at the cellar doors. Thank you. You’ve made our day!

The best wine tour in Australia by far. Terry was the perfect host, very knowledgeable of the area and the wineries, together with excellent driving skills. The 4 wineries we visited were all very unique, right down to the boutique winery where we were hosted in the wine owners' home. The lunch was lovely as well, where we got to sample the wonderful Tasmanian cheeses, delicious. We bought a couple of bottles from two of the wineries, we were very impressed with the quality of the wines, especially the Pinot Noirs which are stunning. The Tamar Valley countryside was beautiful. Timing was perfect as we got to spend about an hour at each winery so we never felt rushed and we got to sample a lot of lovely wines. I couldn't recommend this highly enough, you won't regret it. A fantastic day out, thank you so much Terry.

Jill was exceptionally accommodating, taking me solo on the tour. She quickly worked out my favourite styles of wine and chose great wineries to satisfy my selections. The cellar doors were most welcoming and the lunch spectacular with a superb view. Highly recommended compared with some of the full day toursist companies that could not accommodate me

This was one of the higlights in our Launceston visit. Our tour guide Terry was exceptional - he really knew how to read the group and exceeded our expectations. Terry is very knowledgeable and keeps his finger on the pulse. We had the opportunity to visit a wide variety of different vineyards, from established to new - with a lunch platter that had a little of everything for everyone.
The tour was great value for money, with high quality wines and an ability to interact with three of winery owners. We loved the personal touch and found the wines of a high quality!
We highly recommend this tour!

We recently visited Launceston and wanted to check out some wineries in the Tamar Valley. Our guide and driver, Terry, provided everything that was promised. His knowledge of the region and wine making was outstanding and he provided expert commentary along the way. Terry took us to some excellent wineries off the beaten track that we would most likely have missed if we'd driven ourselves. The food provided at the venues was first class and plentiful. We had such a good day we talked Terry into taking us again the next day and he personalised the 2nd tour for us to include a gin distillery and a brewery. Every venue we attended adhered to strict COVID rules and we felt very safe. All in all we visited 10 venues over the 2 days, each with its own unique offering. Both days were well scheduled and we were never rushed.
Terry was a great host and we really enjoyed our 2 days with him. We highly recommend Terry and Tamar Valley Wine Tours for a safe, value for money day out.

Hi Peter and family,
Thank you for posting your detailed review of your experience with us on tour in the wonderful Tamar Valley! Your endorsement is very much appreciated as was your company during the 2 consecutive days we spent together. What we genuinely appreciate even more is Tasmanians like you, supporting us by taking small holidays within Tasmania during these difficult times. We too, have enjoyed a short getaway to Bruny Island, Hobart and New Norfolk recently. So kudos to you Peter for being great guests! We hope to meet you again.
Cheers,
Terry and Gillian
