- RickHunterW0 contributionsGreat River Cruise experience. Best way to see Catarat GorgeAbsolutely amazing. Relaxing, fun and such great views. The 2 gentlemen Tim & James were such a hoot, providing great information, commentary and such good hands on experiences for the kids. Absolutely worth the time and dollarsWritten 2 August 2024

- GlobeTrotting5446430 contributionsNot worthwhileTo be honest you didn't see much more than you can see from the dock. I think this cruise should be cancerlled. The pilot was very good.Written 22 April 2024
- C2437RMrichards0 contributionsNot much to seeThe cruise pilot was great but in reality as far as the short cruise goes, you don’t really see much more than what you can see from the dock, sadly could not recommendWritten 17 April 2024
- oclynn10 contributionsNice tourInteresting tour to see the gorge and learn a bit about the area, the river, the city. Nice thing to do as alternative to walking the gorge.Written 11 April 2024
- 443suzj0 contributionsA Cruise without Any CommentaryDate of Cruise: 31 March 2024 We thoroughly enjoyed the river cruise, taking in the breathtaking views along the river and the Cataract Gorge. However, we were disappointed that our skipper did not give any commentary at all after he welcomed all of us on board. It would have been very informative to know the different places that we cruised by along the way as well as any other interesting information about the Gorge. ☹️😞😔Written 31 March 2024
- Helen L0 contributionsCataract GorgeWell worth the money. A very informative journey. Good value for money. We were 4 adults and we all thoroughly enjoyed it.Written 11 March 2024
- jeanettemU1367BH0 contributionsDay outDay trip was excellent boat not overfull and captain very informative and knowledgeable on the gorge and river areas. Boat on time and was a very relaxing hour on the water. Highly recommend the hour Boat tripWritten 10 March 2024
- Lendanear0 contributionsGood, inexpensive, interesting cruise.Nice cruise. Good value and the cruise captain was knowledgeable about the area. Informative. We were appreciative of the company as they held the cruise for a few minutes because we were a little late due to traffic. On the down side, the cruise was full when we arrived so people had to sit outside. No big deal though.Written 1 March 2024
- gwendelineb20200 contributionsCruising Cataract Gorge CurrentsThe river cruise offered an overall average experience. I opted for this trip to give my partner a break from driving, and while the river cruise wasn't exceptional, it was decent. However, the true standout moments were found at the remarkable Cataract Gorge and the historic old bridge. They were the clear highlights of our trip.Written 17 January 2024
- L4199QWsandib0 contributionsDissapointedBeautiful view of the Launceston area but unfortunately our tour guide didn't have much to say & we didn't learn anything about the Cataract Gorge. He was too busy chatting with some other guest on board & there was no goodbye or thankyou as he was still chatting to the same guests. We come on these type of river cruises to learn a bit about the area we are visiting & we learnt nothing on this one so very disappointing. Also heard some other guests saying the same thing as we came off.Written 27 December 2023
- JoelK3820 contributionsA nice river cruise on the Tamar River and into the Cataract River GorgeWe went on the Lady Launceston and really enjoyed the Captain's talk on the Tamar River and the environs. We also navigated into the Cataract Gorge and it was a beautiful site to see. All in all a very pleasant outing.Written 23 December 2023
- 126trishb0 contributionsLuncheon CruiseWe had a great day on our Luncheon Cruise, lots of good commentary along the way sharing the history of different areas. Lunch was nice & we had a fun day!Written 16 December 2023

The day was clear, but cool. The cruise moved through various land uses which looked inviting. Morning tea is included, with accompanying muffins, Christmas cake and fruit. Callum delivered an informative and often comical commentary. Very pleasant for the nomads.

I try to get on the water wherever I visit, its a whole new perspective of the area. This did not disappoint. A lovely cruise up the Cateract Gorge to start (tide dependant), then down the Tamra past the wetlands, with a nice stop to stretch the legs at St Matthias’ Anglican Church grounds

We did the 2.5 hour cruise including Cataract Gorge. The cruise was great. We loved the informative commentary from Callum, it was spot on for us as we like a bit of information and history. It was a pity some of the others didn’t appreciate as much and talked loudly through a lot of it. We appreciated morning tea and the opportunity to try some Tassie wines and beer. It was a good trip and we would certainly recommend it.

We just received an email letting us know that they have cancel our tour on Monday October the 16th. We booked it months ago to make sure we didn’t miss out while we were in Launceston. Now, we can’t find any available tours so we are totally missing out! We are so upset and disappointed! There was no even an explanation why it has been cancelled! Unbelievable!

Sitting out on the bow of the boat as we travelled along. Definitely the best seats in the house. Commentary by the Captain was informative, clear and entertaining. Cabin staff very friendly and helpful. Great value for money and a leisurely way to spend a morning in Launceston.
It would have been even more pleasant had it been a ‘smoke free’ trip.

Did this trip 19 April and it was a great trip.
Calum the guide did a great job with his knowledge of the area.
We were served tea, cookies and muffins, then there was wine tasting and then there was a fruit ball.
Had a great trip this morning, even in the pouring rain, I’d recommend it.

Had a great time on the afternoon Tamar River and Cataract Gorge cruise last week. Crew looked after us very well and Captain Callum impressed with his local knowledge and friendly conversations. Look forward to doing it again. Paula from Melbourne.

Relaxed with excellent chat from captain. Limitless tea coffee and cakes were a nice bonus. Saw parts of the area we would not have seen and learned a lot of history about the general area.
On return leg the wine tasting was a nice bonus. Saw Sea Eagles as a second bonus.

Hard to imagine this could be any better. Thoroughly enjoyed this cruise, seeing Cataract Gorge by a new perspective, the Tamar River learning plenty as we cruised along. The commentary was informative and entertaining. You were free to move around. Downstairs we enjoyed morning tea and muffins, biscuits...yum. After fruit was brought out along with wines and beer to sample. This is more an adults cruise, the younger set were glued to their devices...but as an adult I loved it.

This was a great activity to do before our flight back to Brisbane in the afternoon.
Lovely views and commentary and skippering by Lynn and great hospitality and wine commentary by Gemma.
It is great to see Launceston from the water and even more amazing to see everything from the plane when we flew off!
