- SarahG47700 contributionsEnjoyable CruiseLovely morning on the river, nice views and great commentary from Callum, though it was hard to hear at times. Morning tea was included, tea and coffee and a selection of cakes and fruit. Not always easy to see the views as passenger seating faces inwards. Cataract Gorge was a lovely ending to the cruise.Written 6 December 2024
- johnmT1374HU0 contributionsInformative and short trip.Very pleasant and easy cruise. Informative skipper (James) and the ticket office staff are very professional and friendly. A great way to get oriented in Launceston and discover the city region and walkways. Embarcation point, is close to downtown and well maintained.Written 6 December 2024
- hannahsO733NO0 contributionsPeaceful cruise along the tamar riverA wonderful way to see the beautiful city of Launceston, the tamar wetlands, and the cataract gorge. I also loved the wine tasting as we passed the vineyards that made it and the skipper was very knowledgeable, pointing out four white-bellied sea eagles. Very peaceful peaceful tour for a decent price.Written 26 November 2024
- Silken930 contributionsPleasantA lovely way to see the river and Tamar Valley. We were blessed with a mill pond river and plenty of bird life. Morning tea was provided and a knowledgeable commentaryWritten 20 November 2024
- M7010ZUvickis0 contributionsCruising the Tamar River, LauncestonA lovely cruise up Tamar River as far as Rosevears followed by brief sojourn in the Cataract Gorge. Really loved the flock of seagulls following the boat. The gorge is a really special place. Nice to be spoilt with morning tea, cakes, fresh fruit and the opportunity to taste local wines & lager.Written 2 November 2024

We did the 4 hour luncheon cruise which takes you all the way up to the Batman Bridge, and then into Cataract Gorge toward the end. We enjoyed this cruise and the scenery along the way. The Captain was very informative and provided us with the history of Launceston. He had plenty of interesting stories to tell, including one about Matthew Brady, a bush ranger who spent time hiding along the Tamar river. Lunch was good, and the boat itself is very comfortable. Overall we enjoyed our cruise along the Tamar river.

Wonderful way to experience the Tamar River n Cataract Gorge, the slow cruise up the gorge was fabulous with plenty of opportunities to take photos and listen to the commentary. Unfortunately we had to sit out on the back deck (no room inside) on plastic garden chairs for 4 hours and the noise of the engine made the commentary completely inaudible for the entire trip up to the Batman Bridge and back. The plastic windows were very hard to see through so the trip was spent looking out a gap in the back. Moving up to the front deck for photos was a great opportunity. When in full throttle the boat created quite a wake and as it came to a quick stop to see the wildlife the wake washed into the back of the boat making it wet n sloppy. Any bags on the floor would have got very wet. Lovely morning tea n lunch served on the boat, with self serve tea n coffee. Plenty of muffins n cake. Rolls n focaccia with plenty of filling, fruit n cheese platter …certainly enjoyed by those seated inside. This is a fantastic cruise opportunity but just make sure you get a seat inside or upstairs.

I struggled planning a trip to Tassie with my partner and his elderly grandmother, since most of the things I would normally do are quite active. I booked this as something his grandma would enjoy. It was a nice quiet cruise - only about 15 of us, pretty much all older couples. We saw that they take a maximum of 60, which we imagine would have changed the vibe significantly. I enjoyed the view from the front of the boat, as well as the upstairs deck. My partner and his grandma were quite happy to enjoy the view from the comfort of the lounge style seating inside. Highlights for me were the short cruise up Cataract Gorge and going under Batman Bridge with all the whirlpools. We had morning tea and the wine tasting on the way up, along with informative commentary from the captain. On the way back we were served lunch (lovely array of sandwiches with some cheese and crackers and cut fruit) and just enjoyed the views. All of the staff were friendly and approachable, and we all enjoyed it immensely.

The commentary was just right. Informative, interesting and delivered in segments along the way. We really appreciated the captain asking people to refrain from talking loud at the relevant time so others could hear the commentary. There was plenty of food for morning tea and lunch.

We did the 4 hour river cruise with lunch. This included a trip up the Cataract Gorge. The captain gave a description of everything of interest as we passed, including any wildlife that he spotted from the bridge. Lunch was excellent with plenty of sandwiches etc. The trip up the gorge was interesting and again the captain gave a full explanation of the history of the gorge.

It's a good way to see the area if you've four hours to kill. The skipper's talk is interesting and less corny than most. Lunch is sandwiches, and it's really a fine weather trip.

Enjoyed a lovely 4 hr boat trip with this company including a lovely lunch, limitless coffee, and some wine and cheese tasting. Only a small number of passengers on the boat in the current Pandemic climate, but lovely friendly group. The 2 staff were lovely and friendly. The skipper knew SO much of the history of the area and was so informative. Thanks for a lovely few hours

A lovely enjoyable, relaxing and informative cruise, together with a lovely luncheon. Extremely well organised with great commentary. We had a lovely group of people on board. So enjoyed cruising on the Tamar. We highly recommend this cruise to visitors to Launceston. The 4 hour cruise goes further and you see a whole different perspective from the river than when driving.

We just had to do this trip as we see the boat on the Tamar every day from our home. It was fantastic. Beautiful scenery from the water and we learnt a lot about the rivers history from Callum who gave a wonderful commentary and thankyou Gemma for taking care of the passengers with wine tastings and a a yummy lunch. Thoroughly recommend this cruise.
