About the operator
- Corley3300No Lavender Blooms$270 for NOTHING. My partner and two friends on holiday in October in Launceston booked a bus trip to the Lavender Farm. NO mention in the brochure that it only blooms in December and January. Complete waste of money and two hours.
- Vetto2400Top notch day outEamonn was a delight. He was knowledgeable, friendly and engaging. He took us to some amazing wineries and we met our sprit animal at the gin joint! we met some great hosts at the vineyards who knew their wine. Bonus was that out purchases can be posted back to Melbourne and we continue enjoying our Tasmanian wines.
- cdoran202300Amazing day out with a very knowledgable tour guideWe had the best day out with David from Prestige Tours Tasmania visiting vineyards, a still house and a brewery. It was fascinating to hear from the very passionate makers who adore the region and all it has to offer. Lunch was at Loira Vineyard & it is honestly the best ever platter you will ever have in your lifetime. Thank you David & the team at Prestige Tours, our group intends on making it an annual event from now on.
- hellmic202300Wine tourLots of fun. David gave good information on the areas we visited. Stopped along the way for some picturesque views. Wineries were beautiful. Highly recommend
- sydneysider17202300Half Day Winery TourDavid was an excellent guide with extensive knowledge of wine and wine making. I learned new things on this tour and enjoyed listening to his stories. He was also very accommodating of my dietary needs and the fact that I travel solo. Highly recommend it.
- Aaronpurdon00Amazing half dayAbsolutely amazing dave was the perfect host and the small wineries we went to were worth it cannot recommend him enough and will definitely be doing another tour in future he was very knowledgeable about the area and the selected wineries.
- B9135QRamberd0010/10 RecommendationThis was an amazing experience for wine (and cheese) lovers. We felt fully emersed in the Tassie wine culture and loved every minute of it. Our guide was extremely well informed and we would definitely be recommending this to anyone who is travelling to or through Launceston!
- brendaquinn4700Not good value for moneyWe enjoyed the day but felt this tour was expensive for what we got. No morning tea and a platter to share for lunch. A small biscuit or cheese with the morning tastings would have been appreciated. Compared to a similar wine tour on Tasmania’s East Coast last summer for $50 less which included morning tea, a seafood and pizza lunch with a complimentary wine or bubbly.
- 658edwinm00Worth the trip, even during Winter, Thank you DavidThe tour guide, David was such a pleasant person, knowledgeable and love the way he dress up. David brought us to three vineyards and definitely worth the tour, end up bought 7 bottles. Eventhough the tour was during winter, June, all of us love it.
- V5094ILandrewm00Quality over Quantity.David provided us a wonderful small group experience. And are so pleased we had the chance to experience the hospitality of the Tamar Valley’s boutique wineries. With Loira Vines and Swinging Door being exceptional! We look forward to returning sometime in the future.
- airwin202300Wonderful dayThere was just the two of us on the full day tour but David didn’t skip anything. He was knowledgeable and interesting. The five wineries were all slightly different, had wonderful people serving us and all had amazing wines. Lunch was delicious and served overlooking the vines - perfect!
- F6790UGmatthewk00Amazing we will be backAbsolutely loved it, Carol our driver was so fun and friendly and all the wineries we stopped at were Amazing and they really made us feel welcome and the passion they have for their wine shines through. Can’t wait for all the wine to arrive back at home now
- caitlinscant00Awesome tour highly recommendWe were staying in the Tamar valley and they came and picked us up from accom and took us back to Launceston where it starts. David was super friendly and informative and helpful with organising wines to be shipped. We visited 5 wineries that were fabulous and the tour was nice and intimate (not too many people). It was a jam packed full day that is definitely worth it. We also did some tourist attraction stops along the way. Would do again.
- Mmui311000Authentic Unforgettable Wine Tasting ExperienceWe recently went on the full-day Tamar Valley wine tour with Prestige Tours and our guide, David Coopers, and it was a fantastic experience. From start to finish, David was knowledgeable, personable, and passionate about sharing the best of Tasmania's wine with us. The tour started with a pick-up at our hotel, and David provided us with a comprehensive introduction to the Tamar Valley wine region and its history. He also gave us a great overview of the wine-making process, which was really interesting and helped us appreciate the wines we tasted even more. Throughout the day, we visited several wineries and tasted a wide variety of wines, from crisp whites to rich reds. David was an excellent guide, and his knowledge and passion for wine really shone through. He was always willing to answer our questions and share his insights, which made the experience all the more enjoyable. One of the highlights of the tour was our visit to Loira Vines, where we enjoyed a delicious lunch and had the opportunity to taste some exceptional wines. The food and wine pairing was spot on, and the setting was absolutely beautiful. Overall, I highly recommend Prestige Tours' full-day Tamar Valley wine tour with David Coopers as your guide. He is professional, personable, and truly passionate about showcasing the best of Tasmania's wine. This tour is a must-do for anyone visiting Launceston, Tasmania and looking for an authentic and unforgettable wine-tasting experience
- Avidtaveller0000Excellent wine tour in LauncestonWe had a great day touring a number of wineries in Launceston with an exceptional host David. Highly recommended .

I came across Prestige when looking for a tour to recommended a client (as I’m a travel agent)..
They booked and had great things to say, so when I decided to head to Tassie myself, I booked for two of us to do a full day tour.
Eamonn is a fabulous host. He is exceptionally knowledgeable, taught us so much, yet in a very interesting way. Because they are usually small groups, he can tailor tours depending on your preferences. Usually though they are the smaller boutique style of vineyards, so supportive of local small businesses
Eamonn was such a lovely person and great tour guide. Absolutely recommended! Tell him Mandi sent you!

Coming up to do the wineries in the Tamar Valley with a friend, it seemed sensible to jump on a tour, so we could both enjoy the full tasting experience.
This tour, with the excellent Eamonn, as our guide, exceeded our expectations. We hadn't fully appreciated the restrictions in regards to numbers at each of the cellar doors, and all the work was done for us. We turned up to a winery, and they were both expecting us, and had a table reserved for tasting. If we had of tried to do the same thing ourselves, this would of taken a great deal of research and numerous phone calls.
On top of this, Eamonn was very knowledgeable on viticulture and the area, and conveyed this information well.
We enjoyed a nice diversity in cellar doors, and a bonus brewery stop was incorporated. We couldn't recommend this tour more highly!

Had a really enjoyable full day tour with Prestige Tours! Eamonn was a very friendly, interesting and knowledgeable tour guide, and even went to the effort of modifying the tour slightly according to my request. I was also impressed with all the individual vineyard owners and workers that we met, who were also very warm and down-to-earth, and took the time to chat about the industry and answer questions - not just treating us like another tour group chore to tick off. I got to try a broad, representative range of West Tamar wines. The lunch at Loira was another highlight, providing a gorgeous spread of local Tasmanian delicacies! Overall I would certainly recommend this tour company!Â

Eamonn was very accommodating as we needed to reschedule due to border restrictions; at the time when the tour we had to cancel would have started, he contacted us to see how we were coping with isolation and if we needed any shopping. He was genuinely concerned for our well-being.
On our re-scheduled tour it felt like it was a close family friend showing us around - we were shown favourite wineries and introduced to friends. This is not your average winery tour where you are herded around like sheep from one big winery to the next.
This was a tour of 5 small boutique wineries where we tasted about 50 cold climate wines. There were 3 other couples making it more like a family outing.
Thank you Eamonn for a thoroughly enjoyable day and for your genuine care and concern, your flexibility and hospitality. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Eamonn's knowledge of wine and the Launceston area is 2nd to none. The four winery's we visited all had delicious wine/gin/cidar/beer. Meeting the owners/winemakers of each winery made the experience very personal and unique. If you are thinking doing a wine tour along the Tamar this is the one. The lunch we had at Loira was the pinnacle of local Tasmanian produce. After the tour Eamonn provided dinner and drink recommendations, coming out for a pint with us.

Our Tamar valley wine (and one gin distillery) tour was terrific. Dave, our driver, was friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. The vineyards we visited were excellent as was the distillery and lunch was great. There was no problem accommodating a gluten free meal either. Well worth it!

David is a super chill and amazing guide. He's the type of guide you'd want for a wine tasting tour. He's very easy to talk to, plenty of historic knowledge. The tour wasn't rushed, there was plenty of time to savour the moment and enjoy the vineyards. David also drove really smoothly and didn't speed, unlike almost every other driver. I highly recommend this tour with David.

Not to sound like a broken record, but like reviews from previous raters, our full-day tour with David was fantastic. We were travelling with dear friends visiting from America and are are so glad we chose this tour. David kept in regular contact before our tour and confirmed our pickup time and place the day before, and arrived on time. Our van was modern and comfortable, and David is a superb driver. He is also a wealth of knowledge about the wineries we visited and about Launceston and Tassie history. We visited five wineries with cellar doors ranging from sleek and modern to a tin shed - a nice mix. The cellar doors were staffed by knowledge, friendly, passionate people who described the characteristics of their wines as well as their production methods. Our charcuterie lunch at the Small Wonder winery was delicious and Sam our server was wonderful. If you plan to do a Tamar Valley wine tour, you won’t regret choosing this one.

I would like to do the wine tour but also see the Tamar Valley. Should I also expect to arrange an additional sightseeing trip along the valley or does the wine tour pass through the scenic areas?

You do pass some nice views of the valley on the tour. We also drove on the other side of the valley the next day and there are some nice views on that side. Having said that I was a bit disappointed with the Tamar valley.. given the competing spectacular views in Tasmania.
Hi we were considering the full day wine tour on either Sunday 16th February or Monday 17th February. Are the same wineries open both days or are some closed on Mondays
Cheers Jenny
