About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Helen F0 contributionsGreat trip lavender and Pt ArthurLucas was a great guide and very informative. We did the lavender and Pt Arthur tour. Although it was cold and wet we managed to get a good walk in around the Arch etc. the lavender farm was great - had the lavender cheesecake (yum)! The Pt Arthur site was amazing and they have vehicle movers for those with any walking limitations - which was fantastic for our group. Incredibly interesting history and fun activities at the site. All in all a great day 😊Written 30 November 2024
- Wansbrough20120 contributionsCruise Ship Excursion to Tasman Unzoo and Port ArthurWe took the Hobart Cruise Ship Tour – Port Arthur & Tassie Devils with Ian as our driver for the day. He was very informative and kept us fully briefed during the trip. It's a fair trek out to the Tasman Peninsula from Hobart but it didn't seem to take too long at all. Our first stop was the Tasmanian Devil Unzoo which turned out to be a great experience as our arrival coincided with their feeding time. We would have liked to have stayed longer but due to the cruise ship timings, we were soon on the Port Arthur where we enjoyed several hours walking around on our own and learning about its history and enjoying the scenery. Prior to going in, Ian gave us lots of pointers and places of interest that would enhance our visit. The entrance fee also included a short cruise around the Isle of the Dead. On the way back to Hobart we stopped at the Tasman National Park Lookout for some photo opportunities. Back in good time for a quick stroll around Hobart CBD before going back to the ship. All in all a great day out and one we could certainly recommend.Written 29 November 2024
- Danielle S0 contributionsSurpassed expectations - Breathtaking scenery, adorable animals and a brilliant guideJust back from this tour and still buzzing. Our guide Karl was absolutely brilliant. He was so informative with historical and nature information, but equally patient when our small group stopped to oooh and aaah and take many photos of passing animals. We never felt rushed and our walking pace was perfect for me, as someone who enjoys a long walk, but doesn’t have the stamina for a hike. The Fossil Cliffs were fascinating and the cliff top views were spectacular, but the Painted Cliffs left me absolutely speechless with their unique and beautiful formation. Then there were the animals, and my new favourite animals are definitely wombats. We saw both dark and blond, and the highlight was seeing a female carrying her joey in her rear pouch (see photo - look at her behind!). Wallabies were also abundant, some too with joeys and the cuteness factor was over the top! In addition we saw rock pool marine life and some interesting sea birds, as well as Cape Barren geese. This day out ticked so many boxes. Karl made it fun and entertaining too. If you haven’t already booked this trip, I can’t recommend it highly enough. We booked through Viator and the whole day was absolutely faultless. Karl… if you’re reading this review… thank you!Written 24 November 2024

- Summer X0 contributionsThe Best TourMy tour guide is so knowledgeable and helpful. I have learnt a lot about Maria Island history, animales and plantations. I will definitely return back to the island and recommend this tour to everyone who wants to experience the real nature in Hobart! Thank you!Written 30 October 2024
- GolferDonK0 contributionsDo it!We are in Hobart for a couple of days. What a great overview of the area. Beautiful cliffside ocean views, a nice walk, Tassie Devils, kangaroos, but best of all was our guide. His knowledge, the fact that he grew up here and his love for Tasmania and Australia made him special. His stories were funny and informative. You can tell he enjoys his role as a tour guide. I just wish I could remember his name …Written 29 October 2024
- Haloragis0 contributionsBrilliant flora and faunaThe highlight for me was the Mt Field walks among tall swamp eucalyptus and rain forest. Trevor was a terrific guide, highly knowledgeable and full of fascinating info. The forest and waterfalls were beautiful. I enjoyed Bonorong too, though maybe we needed a bit more time there to see all the animals. Mt Wellington was icy cold. The trip in the van was comfortable and the three components made up a nature-based trip that I would absolutely recommend.Written 26 October 2024
- MACKLI0 contributionsLoved itGreat trip, definitely worth a try if you like nature! The guide, he was very informative so weren’t board on the way through the rain forest. The mount wellington view was the best and the Russell fall view!Written 1 October 2024
- MinibearX0 contributionsEnjoyable day tripI booked the day trip of Port Arthur and Tasmania Devil from Hobart on Tours Tasmania’s website. It was a good day trip. Our trip guide Heather was friendly and informative. My hotel pick up was 720AM and the van was on time. It was a small group of 9. There were different options people took. Heather made sure she looked after different needs of the group. The trip started with an easy hike with beautiful ocean view, the Unzoo to see Devil deeding. Got to Port Arthur in the afternoon, and short stop at Richmond on the way back. Returned Hobart about 530ish. The small and friendly group atmosphere was great. I enjoyed the trip. Just wish I had more time at Port Arthur.Written 22 September 2024
- bretto9890 contributionsAmazing and inspiringAn amazing day on Bruny Island. Our guide Nick was very knowledgeable and very entertaining. He new the perfect order to see things in, which ended with us having most of the attractions to just our small group. Highly recommend Tours Tasmania. It was a big day but an awesome day, thankyou.Written 20 September 2024
- traveller54840 contributionsUnzoo is a must visitWe loved our time with the animals at the Unzoo! Up close interactions with the kangaroos and wallabies as well as the parrots and birds were a highlight. Port Arthur was interesting from a historical aspect. Would recommend to get the audio for the self directed tour. It is a walk to get around. Be prepared for the weather ( there was an hour or so down pour) Richmond is quaint town but nothing really to see. Just enough time to enjoy a glass of wine/ beer and treatWritten 12 September 2024
- Danette M0 contributionsBest way to spend a day in Hobart!David our tour guide was incredible. He was very knowledgeable about Hobart, the national parks, Tasmania, and the history of the places we visited. He gave lots of information, fun stories, and was very kind and consistent about checking in on us. We got to see a lot of cool things and it is a great way to see and learn about a lot in one day trip.Written 14 August 2024
- A6608UZemmab0 contributionsFantastic tripGreat little trip outside of Hobart, perfect for anyone that doesn't have a vehicle to get around or if you don't fancy driving. Ben was absolutely amazing, very knowledgeable and you can tell he loves his job !! Plenty of downtime to explore and a day full of activities.. the wineglass bay beach is an absolute must, there is a lot of steps on the way back up but it's worth every second. Beautiful views at the winery after and food to celebrate all our hard work. 10/10 would recommendWritten 8 August 2024

A big thumb to this tour! We had three guides who brought us to different places each day. We went to Cradle Mountain on Day 1, the guide (should be Graeme) provided us with plenty of time to walk around, we were also able to spot adorable wild wombats and wallaby! We were reminded by the guide that we should not touch any wildlife there, and I really appreciated this a lot since it showed his love to the nature. Jackets, socks and gloves were available to lend if you need them.
Day 2 was an easier day, views from Wineglass Bay was spectacular and we had our lunch at Honeymoon Bay where the water is so calm and clear. We met up with another guide Nick who drove us to Hobart with our luggage. Nick also took us to a Berry Farm and I should say the ice-cream was super delicious!
Day 3 was great because of Nick, our guide. He was very enthusiastic and knowledgable that he introduced a lot of histories of Tassie and Port Arthur to us. He had also given us a playcard of Port Arthur for a little game, which was an interesting process to learn more about Port Arthur. The part where we visited Pirate’s Bay Lookout, Tasman Arch, Devils Kitchen was lovely and Nick would recommend some nice spots for photo taking. Doo Town was very interesting too, we slowly drove through the town to find words with "Doo" on the houses. But the best thing is the asmanian Devil Unzoo where you can see the Tasmanian Devil and feed Kangaroos!!!!!
I did not meant to mention Nick only.... please forgive my poor memory and all guides should be praised for their professionalism. Thank you so much for making our Tassie trip so unforgettable!

Do you see Lake St. Clair while visiting Cradle Mountain on this tour?

Hi. Does this tour go to the top of Mt. Wellington? Is there time to look around RIchmond or do we just see these sights on the return trip to Hobart?
Smiles, Molly

Hi Like to know if it is possible to opt for the Cradle Mountain tour only as my family of four have been to Freycinet National Park & Port Arthur. I am thinking of going to Cradle Mountain in Mid July 19.

Hi, I'd like to know when does the tour ends on the last day. Would it be possible to take a flight at 20:10 or 20:45 from the Hobart airport?
