Relaxing, fun experience exploring the river and gorge
Aaron is a great guide and ambassador for Launceston and Tasmania. Very professional, knowledgeable and amicable - we enjoyed his commentary and conversation. The kayaks are well-maintained, stable and easy to manage, even for those not confident with aquatic activities. A pedal kayak tour is a terrific way you can see the Tamar River and Cataract Gorge from a different perspective. Highly recommended.

Launceston begs to be seen from the water
Seeing Launceston, a city born and raised on the water, from the vantage point of the river is a wonderful introduction to the city. Well worth the price. Our host was knowledgeable and friendly, keeping us out of trouble.

A lovely way to start our day in Launceston, the kayaks were easy to use and we got the chance to see the beautiful Tamar river up close. Definitely recommend the experience!

Would have liked more description from guide on the surrounding areas, history of the city and rivers. Otherwise lots of fun!

One of the best experiences in tassie
We were on the 9am tour, and this experience was a beautiful start to our day with the picturesque views and relaxing peaceful environment. Our tour guide Aran was great, he found the perfect balance between teaching us about the local history and letting us explore the Gorge for ourselves. Would definitely recommend doing this as it’s the best way to experience the Cataract Gorge in all its natural beauty.

Hey guys! If you are visiting Launceston, this is a must-do activity!!! Aaron is super-friendly , extremely accommodative and very knowledgeable guide! Even my kids went without parents and he looked after them so well! Kids told me it was their best time ever in Launceston! Very reasonable and something you will always remember! 💕

      A fun and memorable experience
We did the 7am tour and loved the pedal kayaks. We we're very fortunate to see seals at the Gorge. They jumped in the water and followed our tour all the way back to the Tamar River. The owner Aran was fantastic and very flexible with our booking, due to the weather. A very memorable experience! I would highly recommend doing this.

Abled or Disabled? You must do this tour!
Aaron was so accommodating! His set up allowed us to get my disabled mother in law, who only has use of one arm and one leg, into the kayak. The electric motor and single hand steering were easy for her to control. Getting in and out of a kayak as a disabled person isn't exactly glamorous, but Aaron made it as simple as possible. She didn't believe it would be possible. What delight and a treat to get out on the water. She immediately wanted to do it again! The rest of our group of 5 had the best time! Highly recommend.

      Amazing! Highly recommend!
Cannot recommend the Launceston Kayak Tour more! It was the absolute best thing we did here in Tasmania. It was relaxing yet exciting and the best way to see the Cataract Gorge. The guide was fantastic, he answered all our questions and had such amazing knowledge of the area along with being just a genuinely great bloke. If you’re in Launceston, definitely recommend the morning kayak - super easy for beginners and no rowing required!

      Fabulous
We walked from Ronny Creek to Snake Gully which was a bit more uphill than I anticipated. We saw a Wombat in the wild which was a joy.

      Relaxing and peaceful
We did the 90 min kayak tour of the North and south Esk as well as the Tamar River. Aaron was a wonderful guide ... very knowledgeable and helpful - even taking us out on his mum's birthday 🙂 Such a beautiful part of Launceston ... it is a very peaceful and relaxing way to spend a morning. The kayaks were easy to navigate and the pedal power meant that I could take as many photos as I wanted while still paddling. Would highly recommend this tour, and support this small local business.

      Great value experience
Kayaking tour of Launceston, absolutely fantastic time on the water!!! The gorge was amazing, so many people waving and looking jealous. Took a teenager, who also loved being out on the water and in their own kayak. Can’t wait to come back and do another in the future.

This was a fabulous experience especially on the peddle operated kayaks which were incredibly comfortable and easy to use.
We took the 9.30 time slot, the weather was perfect and the scenery especially heading under the Kings Bridge.
We chose the double kayak as a couple and found this a better option than one each as we could rest individually or both peddle.
Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable of the area as well as being very safety conscious, life vests were provided along with sunblock if needed.
We were able to store our bags safely at the pontoon, along with anything we didn’t want to take.
Highly recommend taking a hat and water bottle along with you and definitely put in some sunblock.
The peddle hobie kayaks were sooooo easy compared to having to paddle
    100% recommend this tour

I live in Launceston and it was great to view parts of the city from another perspective so I would recommend this activity for both locals and visitors.
The kayaks were very stable and very easy to pedal and manoeuvre.
Our guide was most helpful and knowledgeable on the history of the river.

What an amazing experience. Couldn't believe how easy it was to control the kayak and it wasn't overly physical either. I could easily take video of the scenery and floating up through the gorge was absolutely magical. It felt surreal to be able to glide through the water in such a unique place. Our guide made the whole experience wonderful and was very knowledgeable about the history of the many landmarks we passed. I would do this tour every week if I could. I think people of all ages would love it

We had a great time with Aaron. 2 things that would have made our tour even better: a little more information about the gorge part of the tour (e.g. formation, measurements, usage etc.) and more/closer photos of the two of us in the kayaks. (Maybe we were just too shy to ask for more or didn't understand well enough when to pose as we are foreigners) Still we definitely enjoyed kayaking with Aaron and can recommend this tour to anyone.

We were lucky to be the only ones who booked that time slot due to being slightly before summer so had a really personal tour. It was great because we were able to pick our guide's brain about lots of the scenery, animals, and even general Tasmania questions. The views were spectacular and the pedal experience was interesting. Overall a really relaxing and amazing pleasure!

Loved it. Went early. Overcast, peaceful and fairly quiet and still. Birds, lots of river foam after recent heavy rains and our small group easily covered a remarkable distance in the time allotted, both along the river and up the gorge. Well run and good kayaks.

We have been looking forward to this event since we made the reservation, and we were not disappointed~~
I met a friendly and patient instructor and took a lot of beautiful scenery. With the warm sun and gentle breeze, I felt super comfortable and comfortable for an hour and a half, although my feet were very sore from stepping on it hahaha 😆 (You can also paddle with your hands paddle)
    A very recommended itinerary! !
