My first time in Tasmania and definitely won’t be the last. Highlight of my trip was cradle mountain day tour. I was picked up from my hotel and dropped off after the tour. On time pick up and was asked about covid questions for screening. Took us 2 hours to get to the national park. Along the way, Ben gave us an impressive commentary about the history, geological and flora and fauna of Tasmania and the cradle mountain national park. Ben is very knowledgeable, and passionate with what he’s doing. I learned a lot! I didn’t mind the short stops, most important is we have more time to spend at the main areas like the half circuit walk around Dove lake, Gustav’s house and the beautiful forest beside it. We had a simple lunch but can’t complain because it was good with a bonus of fantastic view from the hut. We finished off by having a raspberry ice cream. The views of rolling hills, forest and beautiful landscapes are amazing. I really loved the long drive. Overall it was worth it! I’d love to do it again! Thanks for the experience!

Dear Sherriedeee, We are delighted to receive such a fantastic response to your day spent at Cradle Mt. We are pleased to hear that all the little aspects that go into producing a great full day tour seemed to add up to a memorable and great day for you. As this won't be your last visit to our island state, we look forward to welcoming you again in the future!

Cradle Mountain National Park is one of the most beautiful places one can visit in Australia. Ben our tour guide was lovely and very knowledgeable of the history of the place. What we found poor was the time given, we were rushed everywhere we stopped. 10 minutes to order coffee and drink it and be back in the bus. The coach was extremely uncomfortable the seats were like rocks specially considering you spend most of the day driving. Lunch was as disappointing as disappointing can be, we were given a sandwich and a muesli bar... rush again. The worst thing of all was that we were not informed by the company to take warm clothing as the weather up there can be extremely unpredictable as advised on the bus not prior . A couple sitting in front of us nearly froze luckily they were able to buy a jumper at the visitor centre (which was not mentioned by the guide. All in all beautiful place but terrible tour.

Dear veronicakG3871AB, Thank you for your feedback. We are very sorry to hear that our very popular Cradle Mt Tour didn't live up to your expectations. Our timings and itineraries are given a lot of thought (and testing) to ensure maximum time spent at the main attraction so again we are sorry you felt rushed at times. We often receive very positive feedback about the lunch supplied so we will look into that further. Thanks again for your feedback, we take note of your concerns and we will use your feedback to ensure we deliver the best possible service in the future.

Dave was our tour guide today, and what a great guide he is. He works for Mcdermotts Coaches and is a real asset for them, so keen, informative and super relaxed about it all (including the Corona virus, which he handed very well!) I particularly loved our interpretive walk through the rain forest at the Waldheim historical cottage. Lunch was a nice social occasion, or the more so because it was accompanied by numerous wombats most fortuitously walking by. Gorgeous.

We were forgotten to be picked up and waited over an hour to be picked up even after calling the office twice. The driver had to turn back to pick us up
On the tour we could not hear a word of commentary due to a defective speaker system. I asked Ben our driver at the first stop and he said he was aware and had been asking for over a month for this to be fixed. This was disappointing as he was very very informative and we missed out on all the info. Only those in the front 2 rows could hear

When we arrive at the mountain it was great and when we could hear Ben he was so passionate and knowledgeable

The lunch was not as advertised as all we got was a white bread sandwich with a flask of tea /coffee it was advertised as a lunch at the spa with local delicacies and specialties which we did not even visit

Overall a good tour but spoilt by not being able to hear guide and well below average lunch also advertised stops were only really a toilet break and not diffident to look around

From the moment I booked this tour with
McDermotts Coaches I knew we would have a great day
The office staff were very understanding when I explained I had a medical condition that could make it difficult to walk around dove lake
We were pickup on time with Ben and Paul
Throughout the whole day both Ben and Paul were both helpful and professional
I tried to do the walk but could not
complete so Ben suggested I turn back and Paul came back with myself and my husband without a problem
Lunch was great wraps tea coffee and miso soup
Finished the tour at Ashgrove cheese which was great try their ice creams YUM
Bens commentary was very informative and at the end Paul told us about the free bus in town which we didn’t know about so that helped on our last day in wet weather
Ben told us about some good restaurants and other interesting things about launceston
We have been on similar tours mostly in Europe and this one came up no 1 for us

It was v well done. Norman called us even before we reached to make sure it was all ok and called again once in Launceston. Our guide was excellent. Informed us of the history of each town we stopped. The weather was not too good but because we had such a good guide, we thoroughly enjoyed our trip!
