The wines were amazing. We purchased three bottles. The highlight of this visit was Hannah, our host at the Estate. This exceptional woman was so knowledgeable about the wines she was presenting - giving us the full story of the grapes and the processes they go through from beginning to end. Get ready - she talks fast! But she is a sweetheart and VERY passionate about what she does. Of the three wineries/vineyards we visited that day, this is the only one I would go back to. I would have added some photos, but Trip Advisor, in their infinite wisdom, saw words or images that would have been seen as "advertising" or something like that. Sorry - the pics were fun and showed the whole group.

Went to the cellar door to purchase olive oil. Ended up staying for an unplanned wine tasting. We were immediately greeted at the door by a young lady. We were a bit sceptical initially. Another young person trying to sell wines to senior oenophiles. To our amazement this young lady knew her stuff well beyond her years. Her presentation skills were exceptional. Her knowledge of the Hunter Valley wine region and the pioneers was remarkable. Hannah, you are certainly a breath of fresh air in the local Hunter Valley wine industry. Not sure the wines were up to the same standard as your presentation.

Lovely wine tasting experience, learned lots! We visited here as a part of the "Day Trip with Chef-led Hunter Valley Gourmet Food & Wine" tour booked through Viator - Jimmy was our guide and chef, though when you get to the wineries like here at Pokolbin, the folks from the winery explain the specifics and tell you stories about the winery itself. Highly recommend stopping at Pokolbin, on your own, or with Chef Jimmy!

Jacob took us through 6 of Pokolbin Estate wines and was very knowledgeable. He was passionate about the wines on offer. We went to other cellar doors and rated the quality of Pokolbin Estate wines above more expensive wines. Became Pokolbin Estate members and will definitely be purchasing more of their delicious wines in the near future.

It was a good experience but we are very against animal abuse. we saw that the winery provides the service of horse back riding! It is a shame that in these times it continues to happen even though people think that this is good or cute

Had a wonderful time here with my friends on a wine tour. Mel was amazing, taking her time to explain the wines and making us all feel welcome, even wine newbies like me. I am looking forward for coming back here.

Have to say all wines were unique and magnificent. The service was outstanding and the olives, especially as Greeks, we were astonished. Signed up for the membership, bought 6 wines and all their products. Must go to!

Incredible wines, lovely service and great atmosphere, Mel was a perfect host and very knowledgeable. Loved the Bella Rosa wine in particular.

The personable attention by our host Jacob, he imparted good knowledge not only of this winery but in the industry in general.the wines were very palatable .the occasion was casual & welcoming .

What a nice little surprise to find this place! Paid the $15 for the wine matched with cheese option totally worth it. And the staff were very friendly highly recommend!!

We had a wonderful wine tasting experience with our delightful hostess, Shelby. The wines were delicious and well presented by Shelby in a relaxed and personal manner. The choice of wines was excellent.

Mel let us take or time with the wine tasting. The wines were set up for us on the wine tasting version of a paddle , with descriptions and , as an added bonus, chocolate pieces that complimented the wine . It was beautifully organised and the best tasting of the day .

We were on a horse and carriage tour of 13 family and friends. Shelby greeted us at the tasting and noted that she hadn’t known we had two children in our party. She then proceeded to make two tasting paddles of juices and treats for my two boys who were just delighted. The wines we tried were excellent particularly the late harvest Riesling. Shelby was knowledgeable and friendly and handled the very busy atmosphere with ease. She is an absolute asset to this establishment. She also made our children feel part of the experience which isn’t something you encounter usually at wineries. I can’t wait to receive my order when I get back home. Thanks Shelby!

We had a wine tasting with Jacob, the wines were fantastic and so was Jacob. Had a good laugh, great wine and learnt alot. 10/10 would recommend.
