- Ambassador5525850 contributionsGreat way to explore the ValleyWe would absolutely recommend HVH. Thanks to Liam our driver also Max and Banjo our horse power for the afternoon. It was a great way to explore wineries and taste wide selection of wines from the around the Hunter Valley and beyond. Also included a pit stop to sample some local cheese and chocolate . Thanks Liam and Hunter Valley Horses.Written 24 January 2025
- 687biljanas0 contributionsNot worth itThe tour is not worth the money. They shortened our tour by 1 hour. They took us to 2 wineries instead of the 3 advertised. The cheese and chocolate tasting is so poor they give u 3 tiny cubes of cheese 1cm square cubes there was finger prints on the cheese. The same was for the chocolate which was going white cause it was stale. The carriage ride is very short the carriage is extremely dirty…not worth the money and disappointing the time wasn’t as advertised.Written 20 May 2024
- sanvic82500 contributionsHorse & Carriage Wine Tasting TourOur tour guide was so knowledgeable about the area. The horses are adorable and carriage experience was awesome. Wine tasting was great & interesting but unfortunately the cheese & chocolate tasting was very disappointing for the overall cost of the tour.Written 10 March 2024
- ameliam320 contributionsRelaxing and fun activityMy two kids and I went on the 75min tour and had a beautiful morning. It was surprisingly quiet and peaceful. The horses are lovely and our driver gave us lots of info about them along the way, he was a great tour guide and only too happy to answer our questions. Definitely recommend this while in the Hunter Valley.Written 20 December 2023

- SalC1180 contributionsRelaxing ride in pokolbin with horses and carriageSuch a relaxing drive through the countryside with fresh country air and amazing views. The horses were the stars of the show, they were just beautiful and my 11 year old daughter got to hold the reins and steer on occasion! Our driver was very friendly and chatted away about the surroundings. We took photos and films of the horses, countryside and wildlife and it was a glorious way to spend a lazy Saturday morning in the peace and serenity of Pokolbin.Written 9 September 2023

- Meg010819730 contributionsThe Horses Birthday RideI enjoyed a 90 min private ride for my 50th birthday today. It was perfect. Big thank you to our wonderful guides Liam and Cassidy and to our gorgeous horses Skeeta, Georgie, Scotty & Danny. We had a great time riding along bush trails and vineyards with views to the Broke Back Ranges. Also happy "Horses Birthday" to our horses!! We will definitely be back!! Highly recommend!!Written 1 August 2023
- sarahfP545PB0 contributionsBest Experience EverSuch an amazing experience if you are looking for a horse ride with some of the best views as the location is set in the hunter valley. I went alongside some friends and we had the best time. So much fun and we also sightseed around the farm feeding the animals. This experience was great for any expert horse rider to beginners as the staff really go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and at ease. I wanna personally mention Nikita, she looked very young and really went above and beyond with myself, my friends and other riders who were on my ride ensuring they were comfortable, checking straps to adjust to personal length and she is super happy and made my experience a lot more enjoyable with great costumer service. There was one staff member who I believe his name is Macca who when I asked for help when adjusting straps and felt a little uneasy on the horse just said ‘You’ll be fine’ and walked away. Although this happened it didn’t ruin my experience as Nikita approached me with another staff member named Shanaye and fixed my straps and spoke to me making me feel comfortable and in good hands along with teaching me how to hold the reins and what to do when riding. Thank you ladies for making this experience so amazing and enjoyable. We will definitely be back again!Written 27 July 2023

Supper service, a very friendly and welcoming. The 3- Hour Wine and Harvest the Hunter Horse Tour in Pokolbin was a fantastic experience, thanks to the carriage Coachman. He was not only a skilled driver, but also a great storyteller and guide. He shared with us interesting facts and anecdotes about the Hunter Valley, the horses, and the wineries we visited. He was also very attentive and courteous, making sure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves. The carriage itself was elegant and cozy. The horses were beautiful and well-behaved, and the Coachman handled them with care and respect. The tour was a perfect balance of relaxation, education, and fun. I highly recommend the carriage Coachman and his horse-drawn tour to anyone who wants to explore the Hunter Valley in style

Cath & I had a fantastic time!
Macca (driver), Max & Blossom (horses) really looked after us. We hit a few really nice wineries & finished up having chocolate & cheese tasting.
The ride home was great with Macca taking us home via some shortcut tracks where cars can’t go.
This was awesome as I’d had enough of buses and looking at the back of peoples heads.
Fantastic 3hrs

Perfect. Such a glorious way to experience a beautiful part of our country. The whole day was a joy. The winery were both different, but both great. The cheese and chocolates were awesome. Only one small complaint, the sample size of cheese was too small 🤔. We did not feel rushed at all and felt like we had stepped back in time as we slowly meandered to each stop

Liam was very friendly from the start of the tour and looked after us at every winery. He made sure we were looked after extremely well and even stopped when we requested so we could take a photo. Both the horses were extremely calm and gentle (we own our own horses so we know what horses can be like) would definitely recommend

Went on the tour for our anniversary and my partner and I loved it. Both Lloyd and Kelli were very friendly, Kelli even picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel just because we asked. The horses were beautiful and well kept, and the carriages were comfortable. Even after one of the horses tried to wander off on it’s own accord, Lloyd resolved the situation with no issues. Thoroughly recommend to anyone looking to take a tour with a difference

Lovely horses and scenery! Hayden our host was fun and charming and made the whole experience a little extra fun. His knowledge of the region and wines was also outstanding. We highly recommend the organic Tamburlaine wines, and Ashley at Lisa McGuigan wines will certainly look after you and your group! And of course the chocolate shop and cheese shops are a must! Best way to get around Pokolbin!

We had a wonderful afternoon visiting wineries with our guides Lloyd and Liam. The wineries were beautiful but being transported by horse and carriage was what made it memorable. Lloyd and Liam were knowledgeable but also a bit of banter and a laugh or two. I would definitely recommend this wine tour to anyone visiting the Hunter Valley.

Did the wine tasting tour today for my wife's birthday, turned out we were the only people booked in so we got a personal tour - score!! Jade, our guide was great - chatty, entertaining, informative & had great control over the horses. Went down a couple of trails off the main roads which was also good. Would definitely recommend for a morning or afternoon activity for couples or small group.

Wonderful experience for my family. The driver was fantastic and everyone was helpful with accessibility requirements. It was especially nice going on the dirt paths and seeing the wildlife on the way. The wineries were delightful. I recommend this to anyone who is looking for a more special experience
