Katrina’s knowledge and customer service at the time of booking and follow up was exceptional as we had very specific requirements, due to the fact that our daughter is a full time wheelchair user. Craig’s assistance and expertise before and after the balloon flight was something we have never had the pleasure of experiencing before and his passion for including people with disabilities was heartwarming. Matt’s skill as a balloon pilot is first class and his vision for an inclusive experience for everyone is something all tourist operators should aspire to. - 780anitag0 contributionsGentle ExperienceMagical views, great experience, good for everyone (minus little kids). It is very gentle going up and coming down and not scary at all. The height wasn't an issue because you're busy taking in the views of the horizon and taking photos. You don't realise your height because it's slow and gentle going up. Worth a go. The fly time is only about 45 mins which is long enough and the champaign breakfast was a nice way to end the complete the whole experience. It's an early start, worth it for the sunrise and by the time you leave you have a fully belly and have the whole day ahead of you to enjoy the rest of Hunter region.Written 7 October 2023

Wayne our driver was hilarious and made us enjoy a cold early morning with his humour but also so informative about the tour! The balloon ride was peaceful and our pilot Dave was very informative and explained the different wind pockets and how he manouvers everything. I would definitely recommend this to anyone, and if you feel like it would be scary, I felt so safe and secure in the basket, once you get up in the air and see the incredible view you’ll see why it’s so worth it! Sam, Sammy and Jeremy were an awesome team. Everything was well planned and professional in every aspect of the flight. As having flown in about everything that can fly the balloon aloft experience was a highlight of my flight experiences. The staff, the pilot, the weather, the well prepared and organised flight or tour, the safety aspects and reassurance, the spectacular jokes (3 of them) Meeting at Petersons House then drive to Broke Valley/Mountain then a magic flight in the morning going over the ranges and mountains, scenery spectacular then landing somewhere in a paddock of cows , getting our hands dirty in folding up the balloon (2nd largest in Australia) then back to Petersons for a champagne breakfast - amazing. After having our original balloon flight cancelled back in 2019 due to bad weather, the Balloon Aloft team were extremely accommodating in extending our voucher until we could finally make it back to the Hunter Valley (thanks to covid for the delay!)
We finally got to have our balloon flight yesterday, and what a great experience from start to finish! We arrived at Peterson’s House early on a very cold Sunday morning and we’re warmly greeted by a team of friendly staff who made sure everyone was exactly where they needed to be and informed about the morning ahead.
After a 40 minute bus ride, we were at our launch site, and it was only another 15-20 minutes after that the balloons were inflated and we were ready to go!
The flight was incredible and no where near as scary as I’d thought. Our pilot Byron went out of his way to ensure that everyone was kept both safe and entertained throughout the flight. We got an amazing birds-eye view of the landscapes and wildlife below and even got to fly over the massive mine site in Broke.
After the flight we returned to Peterson’s House for a delicious champagne breakfast – what a great way to finish this amazing experience!

Our Hot air balloon ride was the most amazing experience. To see the balloon inflate and then your on your way. Our pilot Jacob, was very professional, funny and a joy to fly with.
We set off just before dawn, and to see the sun rise from a balloon is fantastic.

If you are looking for an adventure Balloon Aloft Hunter Valley is the place to try.

Amazing experience. My husband always refused to do this even though we used to live in the Hunter Valley. I finally talked him into it 10 years later and he hasn't stopped talking about it! We absolutely loved it. The staff were effecient and had everyone sorted into groups with breakfast orders selected in 20 mins. Big shoutout to our pilot Byron, great guy and wow smoothest landing ever. The whole experience from start to Champagne breakfast finish was worth every cent. Don't even think twice about it, just do it. Memories and photos to last forever.

I would like to give zero star if I can. I am writing this review for those bought the non-refundable tickets like I did. The 'no refund under any circumstance' term is illegal under Australian Consumer Law (ACL). I only realised that after both of my flights at Hunter Valley and Byron Bay were cancelled due to bad weather, because I was thinking that it is ridiculous to travel again and again at my own costs if they keep cancelling it. On 25 February 2023, I requested for a refund, Balloon Aloft used numerous excuses, even claimed they are a registered airline company, to refuse the refund. I had to take the matter to NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal (NCAT) and Peta Hurley from Balloon Aloft then agreed to refund me at NCAT conciliation hearing. However, Peta continued to claim that Fair Trading says ‘no refund under any circumstance’ is legal. I contacted Fair Trading and the officer advised me in writing that ‘it is in contravention of consumer guarantee that are included in the Australian Consumer Law’ and she requested Peta to remove the term from their website. So, if you bought the non-refundable tickets, you know you have the right to ask for a refund under ACL if the flight is cancelled due to bad weather.

Please stop posting misleading reviews.
In regards to the ticket type that you purchased, the terms on our website read as follows-
“Vouchers are non-refundable including in the event of weather or pilot determined cancellation, passenger cancellation or change of mind”.
As we are both aware, you agreed that in the event of unsuitable weather, you would reschedule your flight to another time. You then changed your mind. As above, that is not a circumstance under which we have to offer a refund.
We have provided you with a refund for your non-refundable ticket. As far as we are concerned this matter is settled.

It was one of the best experiences in my life. Celebrating my 50th birthday with Steve and the team of Balloon Aloft was absolutely exhilarating. I highly recommend that everyone should take this leap in life and experience the self achievement and gratitude. The Balloon Aloft team communicated very well with us and at no point in time did nerves take place. Very informative, safe and just an awesome experience from start to finish. We booked our tickets online through Adrenaline Experiences. Balloon Aloft was absolutely amazing with their Hot Air Balloon flight in the hunter valley. My friend and I went on a sunrise flight followed by breakfast at Peterson House. Our Pilot Rick was fantastic. The flight itself was absolutely stunning. So peaceful and relaxing. Definitely an experience I will remember fondly and will recommend to everyone.

The whole activity was very well organised. This was our first experience taking the Hot Air Balloon and it was really fun and safe. The day before our hot air balloon flight, we received a mail from Balloon Aloft that they would pick us up at the hotel. We also called in to check whether the flight would be going ahead the next morning. A van picked us up from our Hotel to Peterson's Champagne House where we were registered and had light refreshment. We were then fetched to the launch site where we witnessed how the Hot Air Balloon was set up. We were then organised into position in the hot air balloon basket and we had to jump into the basket before the Hot Air Balloon took off. The weather was excellent during our flight and we were able to see sunrise and the Hunter Valley area. During the 1 hour flight, the pilot explained the operations of the Hot Balloon and the various places where we flew over. After the flight, we participated in keeping the balloon before heading back to Peterson's House where we had a sumptuous breakfast and champagne. During breakfast, we were shown very nice digital photos taken during the flight which I strongly recommend to buy to keep as memory. After breakfast, we were fetched back to our Hotel. Thumbs up to Balloon Aloft for the great experience.

An early start but well worth the alarm. Smooth flight over the Hunter region with a beautiful view of the sunrise, can’t beat it. Followed by a delicious breakfast back at Peterson House. Loved it

Meeting point at Peterson’s champagne house (early to take advantage of the sunrise) we were given coffee/tea and given a safety briefing. We were then transported to our pick up site. Another safety check and we watched the whole process of the hot air ballon.
What an amazing adventure so peaceful hovering over vineyards and nailing the sunrise. All 2 soon the flight was over. If u are afraid of heights or flying don’t even put this in the same box. It was more like floating above clouds. The landing was like being placed on eggs and not cracking one.
We then assisted the guys in packing up the balloon. Our driver/pilot not sure what you call a hot air ballon guy was Clay, he pointed out land sites and was only to happy to answer the many questions.
