About the operator
- Lyddiardo100One for the bucket listAwesome , magical , surreal… Absolutely loved this experience and our flight pilot Clay made it magnificent! Thankyou balloon aloft , highly recommend xx
- H6956HBjohnm00FANTASTICFantastic experience we absolutely loved it and all the staff were extremely friendly and professional , would highly recommend
- 780anitag00Gentle ExperienceMagical views, great experience, good for everyone (minus little kids). It is very gentle going up and coming down and not scary at all. The height wasn't an issue because you're busy taking in the views of the horizon and taking photos. You don't realise your height because it's slow and gentle going up. Worth a go. The fly time is only about 45 mins which is long enough and the champaign breakfast was a nice way to end the complete the whole experience. It's an early start, worth it for the sunrise and by the time you leave you have a fully belly and have the whole day ahead of you to enjoy the rest of Hunter region.
- sharynrowe1900Sensational!!What a beautiful way to celebrate our 22nd Wedding anniversary! Wayne our driver was hilarious and made us enjoy a cold early morning with his humour but also so informative about the tour! And Clay our Pilot was the same, legend bloke that we felt thoroughly at ease with,it’s so good when tour operators have a wonderful personality, thank you to you all plus a shout out to Haley for getting us sorted after hours !😊
- tori F00Amazing!The whole morning from beginning to end was so well planned out and organised, the staff were so friendly and welcoming especially considering we met at 4am! The balloon ride was peaceful and our pilot Dave was very informative and explained the different wind pockets and how he manouvers everything. I would definitely recommend this to anyone, and if you feel like it would be scary, I felt so safe and secure in the basket, once you get up in the air and see the incredible view you’ll see why it’s so worth it! Thank you so much for an amazing day!
- Lina192300Great experienceDave was an amazing guy with great personality and we believe he goes over and beyond. the experience wouldn’t be the same without him as a pilot. We own him our expirience and for sure we will recommend it to our closest. He and the team deserve 5 stars
- 292caseyw00Must doA must do experience! Breakfast and tastings afterwards were better than anticipated. Pilots and crew were obviously highly experienced and friendly.
- allensL3506UG00Best Bucket List ExperienceThe organisation and friendly members of the balloon aloft crew were a pleasure to meet and fly with. Sam, Sammy and Jeremy were an awesome team. Everything was well planned and professional in every aspect of the flight. As having flown in about everything that can fly the balloon aloft experience was a highlight of my flight experiences. I have flown planes, gliders but this experience was fantastic.
- kyliebarnett00Amazing highly recommendedWe had the most amazing time. The whole team were so friendly and welcoming. As 1st time ballooners we were so excited and were not disappointed. 10/10 will definitely do it again
- D4154TGadrianc001st time Balloon VirginsFantastic!!!! The staff, the pilot, the weather, the well prepared and organised flight or tour, the safety aspects and reassurance, the spectacular jokes (3 of them) Meeting at Petersons House then drive to Broke Valley/Mountain then a magic flight in the morning going over the ranges and mountains, scenery spectacular then landing somewhere in a paddock of cows , getting our hands dirty in folding up the balloon (2nd largest in Australia) then back to Petersons for a champagne breakfast - amazing. Great service and super friendly
- Stanthorpe00Balloon Aloft was funThanks Dave for a great tour. Ballooning was beautiful. The set up and pull down was very interesting to watch and efficient. The balloon trip was amazing. I was anxious but put at rest by the service and system.
- GlendaW30005 stars… a must doWow!!! What an experience. Could not fault any of it. All the staff were AMAZING from our arrival super early till the very end with our pilot Sam toasting a traditional “cheers” for a beautiful sunrise and morning all spent together. Definitely recommend. Thank you Balloon Aloft. Made our morning making memories. 👌
- mandiit202200AmazingStaff were great. was such a great morning. Clay and Carl were amazing and accommodated my partners requests and nerves to create an amazing proposal. I was blown away by the whole experience and we can’t wait to go up again 😊
- bisboone00Fantastic experienceEarly morning start. Met at the winery, ordered breakfast from the 3 options, hop in mini bus to launch site. Ride was calm and smooth over beautiful scenery with the sun coming up. In the air approx 50mins. Landed in Luskintyre. Retired to Peterson’s for breakfast. Had the mushroom avocado sourdough - yummy as. Also got a glass of pink blush and able to sample a moscato or Prosecco. Highly recommend - would do again.
- Dianne W00FantasticFantastic staff and pilot so very professional and nothing was to much trouble It is so peaceful but safety was their priority

It was one of the best experiences in my life. Celebrating my 50th birthday with Steve and the team of Balloon Aloft was absolutely exhilarating. I highly recommend that everyone should take this leap in life and experience the self achievement and gratitude. The Balloon Aloft team communicated very well with us and at no point in time did nerves take place. Very informative, safe and just an awesome experience from start to finish. Thanks so much for this fabulous lifetime experience, goosebumps every time I relive the wonderful adventure. Cheers Deb and Pete Lancaster

My partner get anxious about flying, is scared of heights , and get motion sickness, so when I suggested we go hot air ballooning in the Hunter I was surprised by her cautious yes. (I expected an out right no). Well she loved it and I had a ball. The crew are great fun (Haley, Steve and James). Our pilot Steve gave us full confident in his ability. The whole flight is so gentle and the veiw is magnificent as the sunrises. The breakfast was also good, with a Vegan option. Highly recommended.

Meeting point at Peterson’s champagne house (early to take advantage of the sunrise) we were given coffee/tea and given a safety briefing. We were then transported to our pick up site. Another safety check and we watched the whole process of the hot air ballon.
What an amazing adventure so peaceful hovering over vineyards and nailing the sunrise. All 2 soon the flight was over. If u are afraid of heights or flying don’t even put this in the same box. It was more like floating above clouds. The landing was like being placed on eggs and not cracking one.
We then assisted the guys in packing up the balloon. Our driver/pilot not sure what you call a hot air ballon guy was Clay, he pointed out land sites and was only to happy to answer the many questions.
We then got transported back to petersens for an amazing breakfast, where we also went back again for coffee, during the day, fantastic coffee a bit overpriced but it was great, and again for morning coffee the next day.

We flew this morning, and despite it being a cloudy day we had a beautiful flight with clear views of the lush greenery and vineyards below. The operators including our own hot air balloon pilot Steve were friendly, professional, funny and efficient. Great communication over weather and schedule, the day before plus the day of. Couldnt have asked for a smoother experience. Great ending with a champagne breakfast at Peterson House. Perfect!

Thank you to Clay and the team at Balloon Aloft for a wonderful experience - far exceeded any expectations we had. Staff were so knowledgeable and friendly, and the views were breathtaking! Breakfast after the flight at Peterson's Champagne House capped off a very memorable day.
We highly recommend Clay and the team at Balloon Aloft to anyone - whether it be to show off the country to overseas visitors, for a special occasion or just to treat yourself.

I recently booked a surprise balloon ride for my wife and I for our 20 year anniversary. We were both very nervous and a little scared.
We had a very confident pilot named Matt who made the trip very easy and relaxing.
It was a very smooth process and the Balloon aloft people seem to all know their roles.
Definitely will be telling others to use their company.

This experience with balloon aloft was magical, peaceful and so beautiful. The company is great, everyone is professional and approachable, the process is streamlined and easy to organise. The only thing I'd recommend for them is to better explain the meeting point (maybe with a map), tell you there is heavy lifting at the end and to wear gum boots and long pants. But ballooning itself was incredible, you have to do it at least once.

I would like to give zero star if I can. I am writing this review for those bought the non-refundable tickets like I did. The 'no refund under any circumstance' term is illegal under Australian Consumer Law (ACL). I only realised that after both of my flights at Hunter Valley and Byron Bay were cancelled due to bad weather, because I was thinking that it is ridiculous to travel again and again at my own costs if they keep cancelling it. On 25 February 2023, I requested for a refund, Balloon Aloft used numerous excuses, even claimed they are a registered airline company, to refuse the refund. I had to take the matter to NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal (NCAT) and Peta Hurley from Balloon Aloft then agreed to refund me at NCAT conciliation hearing. However, Peta continued to claim that Fair Trading says ‘no refund under any circumstance’ is legal. I contacted Fair Trading and the officer advised me in writing that ‘it is in contravention of consumer guarantee that are included in the Australian Consumer Law’ and she requested Peta to remove the term from their website. So, if you bought the non-refundable tickets, you know you have the right to ask for a refund under ACL if the flight is cancelled due to bad weather.

Hi Sophia,
Please stop posting misleading reviews.
In regards to the ticket type that you purchased, the terms on our website read as follows-
“Vouchers are non-refundable including in the event of weather or pilot determined cancellation, passenger cancellation or change of mind”.
As we are both aware, you agreed that in the event of unsuitable weather, you would reschedule your flight to another time. You then changed your mind. As above, that is not a circumstance under which we have to offer a refund.
We have provided you with a refund for your non-refundable ticket. As far as we are concerned this matter is settled.
Regards,
Peta

Amazing experience! We had Matt as our guide who was lovely. We met at Peterson's Winery at 430am. We were allocated a group then boarded a bus and headed to our location. Watching the set up of the balloons is spectacular as is the whole experience. Once finished we headed back to the winery for a champagne breakfast and opportunity to purchase some professional photographs. Definitely a wonderful experience to remember.
