    Never recommend
The staff were unprofessional, rude and even mocking customers. My family bought 6 bottles of wines and requested for 2 more of paper bags as the wines were gifts for friends. And we offered to pay for the extra paper bags, they started mocking us and ruined our day. Bottles of wine were overpriced compared to quality to ones from other winery. Never ever visit again.

    Poor service and disappointing wine
Unfortunately despite the recommendations we had received previously, we had a disappointing experience at Audrey Wilkinson this past weekend. We arrived expecting to be able to sit outside and look at the view it is so famous for, only to be seated in a dingy barn with barely any natural light. When we asked the young server to be moved outside we were initially told it would be fine and then after he spoke with his manager she came over and just sharply said “is there a problem?” (Rude) and after we explained that we just wanted an outdoor table we were just simply told no, we can’t because we aren’t doing a premium tasting. There was no option for us to upgrade our tasting to make this possible or even the offer of a different table. We then proceeded with the tasting with the young server, who was very friendly and polite but also clearly very new to the role and therefore lacked knowledge and actually told us some facts that we knew to be incorrect. He made some interesting comments such as that the sweet desert wine is great poured over McDonald’s ice cream and that all the other tastings we would do that day would just be forcing semillon down our throats. He also asked if we wanted to try any other wines and then after going away to get what we had asked for, he returned and just said there’s nothing else to taste and left it at that. We have done tastings at upwards of 30 different cellar doors throughout the Hunter this year and can confidently say that the quality and taste of the wine from Audrey Wilkinson is the worst we have tasted, particularly the reds. In respect of the server, I do appreciate that everyone starts their career somewhere and if there hadn’t been such a big disappointment with the table and rude manager we wouldn’t have given such a low rating, however when you add all the issues together it makes for a very poor experience.

Everything We Hoped For and More!
We had the absolute best time and Alli (sp) was the best host! They were so knowledgeable, kind, and engaging. We learned so much about the vineyard's history, wines (which are spectacular), and the local cheese. If you're looking for a special experience...look no further, this is it!

    Premium Tasting Experience
Audrey Wilkinson is a beautiful venue (inside and out). As you drive up the hill you get glimpse to your left of the north valley with sloping hills filled with vines (Beautiful Forest Green leaves at this time of year). You then walk up the stone steps to a stunning contemporary building with allusions to the ages facets which is then elaborated on in the walk through museum (hosting a range of historical wine making and storage equipment / utilities) My experience was a premium tasting so the 'higher end' range of 3 whites, 3 reds and a sweet. My wife, friend / extended cousin and child were experiencing this. (Child not drinking wine) The service and explanations provided by Dee (assumed spelling) was professional, courteous and friendly. The wines were amazing as always (I recommend the Verdelho and Cab Sav)

    Great sit down tasting
We had a 3 pm Sunday booking as there was not a lot of availability left. Really enjoyed this, especially having a table which made it more relaxed. Allie did an excellent job of explaining the wines and the history of winemaking in the region, as well as answering our questions. We did not feel rushed at all. The tasting room is in a great location with impressive views. Highly recommended.

    Nice views and nice wines.
We did the "basic" Audrey Wilkinson experience, but it was very good. Varied wines and good wines, too. Unfortunately I can't remember our guide's name, but he was informative and nice, even though he did seem a little distracted and tired. Well worth a visit.

Wine with a view to match
What a beautiful winery! Hadn’t booked in for a tasting but was greeted and taken to a table. Oliver was the young man who looked after us. What pure delight he is. Although having only been at AW’s a few months, Oliver knew what he was talking about and had a passion for his job. The wines we tasted were delightful, purchased one to have with dinner. A must winery to visit when in Pokolbin.

    Stunning and memorable experience indeed!
The location and the property itself is stunning and with scenic views. And the rustic feeling of 1 km of untarred access to the property.

Don't miss a wine tasting in an idyllic spot in the Hunter Valley.
My husband and I brought our Queensland son and his wife along to an Audrey Wine Tasting. We added the cheese platter. Delicious. The wines are just beautiful, the views take your breath away and our host was so knowledge and helpful. Everything was just perfect. Highly recommend visiting. Thank you!!

Our American guests loved it 🥰
Our group of 7 American tourists asked to see the best wineries in the Hunter Valley. Audrey Wilkinson was at the top of the list. The service, the wine, the history just brilliant. I highly recommend you book your next experience at Audrey Wilkinson 🍷

The staff were friendly and knowledgeable.
Unfortunately there just wasn't value for money in the experience though. $160 ($80 pp) for wine tasting and a tiny snack box with a bottle of wine for our picnic lunch!

The vineyards are beautiful, so I'd recommend just booking a normal wine tasting experience, buy a bottle, and spend your remaining $40-50 EACH getting a proper meal (and some...!) somewhere else! I mean, there was literally only 5 crackers in there with some lettuce, antipasto, a few pieces of dried fruit and a tiny biscotti.

Wouldn't recommend the picnic at all.

Mini tour followed by wine tasting in a private room. Some of the nicest wines we tasted with Bev sharing her detailed knowledge. Then we got our picnic pack and rug with a bottle of wine. Beautiful food not

I am usually a spirit drinker, however after a well informed Masterclass hosted by David, I will be indulging wines more often. I now understand the differences in wines and the application of the correct wine to meals.

The best was yet to come, a picnic in a private room!!!

It had been raining all week and usually we would of enjoyed a picnic outdoor overlooking the rolling hills amongst the vineyards. The guys at the winery arranged a wonderful indoor picnic with flowers, crusty bread, cheeses, cold meats olives and chocolate fudge. A great way to finish a great afternoon out.

Great scenery, great food and great wines.

Lovely way to spend a few hours in the vineyards. Wine masterclass was very relaxed and enjoyable and Meg was well versed on the history of the vineyard, the region, the grape varietals grown at Audrey W and the wines they produce.

We had ours at 12:30pm so would recommend sampling the delights of the picnic basket during the tasting, especially the cheeses. Great to sample older vintages to experience how the wines develop. Highly recommended.

We had been to Audrey Wilkinson before, loved their wines and the amazing views. So we decided to book the masterclass and picnic. We arrived to a cool, crisp glass of sparkling as we wandered around the museum. We were then introduced to Bev who was looking after us. Bev was very knowledgeable and great fun. The wine masterclass focussed on the types wines we already knew we enjoyed as well as opening our horizons and tasting other varietals with some great suggestions on food accompaniments along the way. Following the masterclass we were given our picnic hamper and a bottle of 2017 The Lighthorseman. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t good for an actual picnic in the vines however Bev organised a lovely table for us on the verandah. We would recommend this experience to anyone who enjoys wine, good food and is keen to learn more about wine, the history of a long established vineyard and particularly for a special occasion.

Our group of friends arrived on time for our booking and were met with an uninviting host. We were advised to book two tables due to Covid limits of no more than 6, so it was surprising to see several tables of more than 6. Our host offered us table of 3 for the 7 or us and when bringing this to his attention, he told 7 ladies with a condescending tone to ‘relax everyone’ - this obviously didn’t bode well however a larger table was arranged and we felt to start over and give it a chance. Our first tasting was then poured by the same host and he then said “common we need to keep to schedule”. There was no recovery from that point. It’s not about personal taste as the wine was less than average, commercial and overpriced. You are paying for the view, which is indeed beautiful and if the service experience was pleasant you could possibly accept the wine quality.

Despite the restrictions in place with COVID, this was still a very premium and personalised experience. The staff were knowledgeable and the range of wines that we tasted were delicious. Trying the port from the Barrell was also unique and a bonus. The food at the picnic was great, and you get a whole bottle to enjoy with one of the best views in the hunter.

Zac (spelling?) was fantastic and made what could have been a drab, rainy day dampener of a picnic, amazing. We were not only entertained by Zac’s witty humour but also informed of the wonderful wines on offer at Audrey Wilkinson and the interesting history of Audrey himself. We felt spoilt by Zac, and by the end of the tastings, we were all laughing and enjoying each other’s company before heading out to our individual picnics. Zac should be commended for turning what could have been a ruined experience by a rainy day into a laughter-filled fun event. I’m sure Audrey Wilkinson Winery feel proud to have such a dedicated and passionate employee.
