Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- T9669TGjoshuas0 contributionsMy perfect marriage proposal 😍The staff were amazing!! So attentive, I proposed to my partner at the Premium picnic and wine tasting. The staff helped every step of the way, setup the picnic so beautifully and helped my sister sneak in with my pup and 10 month old for the big surprise. Couldn’t have asked for a better day and the wines are beautiful! Thank you so much Sean, and especially the lady that did our wine tasting and tour (so sorry I’m bad with names)Written 20 October 2024
- tanyar6950 contributionsFell short of our expectationsThe views were amazing, we had a booking for the premium wine tasting but was disappointed with experience as it did not measure up to the basic wine tasting for half the price at the previous winery. They were busy with several groups, forgot to bring us a spittoon and we had one small glass of water each which we had to ask for a refill. Also not a fan of being given one wine glass that was refilled with each different wine...The cellar door host was doing several tables at once so we had no personal service, no history of the winery, no time to ask any questions and at the end of the session we were left sitting there without being asked if we wanted to purchase any bottles? The laminated page in front of each of us gave the info on each of the 7 wines to taste and this was the same info given by the staff member...not sure why they just read out what we already had in front of us? I came away thinking we did not get value for our payment.Written 3 October 2024

- 163leannek0 contributionsEnjoy a different type of wine tasting experience! We did the Audrey Wilkinson Vineyard Indulgence Experience over the weekend. Firstly, the scenery was 360° spectacular - such a beautiful estate. The staff were all very welcoming and friendly. We were after something a little different from the usual wine tasting and we definitely got it. The program walked us through 6 different dessert wines before and after selected chocolate flavours. It was amazing to taste the differences. We were very impressed and highly recommend this to other people seeking something a little more special and different to simply tasting a multitude of wines. We bought our favourites then went looking for the chocolate factory they buy their chocolates from and bought a sampling to take home as well.Written 29 September 2024
- jasoncP5019FA0 contributionsA highlight of our time in the Hunter! This was an amazing experience! The locally sourced food was absolutely delicious, and the wines that were tasted were fantastic. This was topped off with exceptional service from Collete - we loved every minute of our time at Audrey Wilkinson's.Written 23 September 2024

- D3196FSkerryg0 contributionsWe were gifted the wine and wildlife experience. From the time we pulled up to the car park after a beautiful drive we were met at the door by a friendly staff member who showed us the way to be seated. Then greeted by another staff member who went through the wines with us and a good chat. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. We had a lovely cheese platter with local produce. Would highly recommend a day at Audrey Wilkinson any day of the week. Thank you.Written 11 September 2024
- weraynor0 contributionsGreat tasting high on the hillWe had a booked tasting and purchased a cheese plate to share. The three white and three reds presented were all good with two being only available at the winery. Leah handles us very well. The winery is perched on a hill and has O think the best entry and viewing position in all of the Hunter Valley. Well worth a visit.Written 10 September 2024
- kittykt880 contributionsPerfect Weekend at Mulberry CottageWhat a beautiful weekend and experience we had at Audrey Wilkinson. This is my absolute favourite winery and have visited many times, always wanting to come stay for a weekend. Well, that just happened and from booking to ending - everything was perfect. We are a group of 7 friends and booked direct with AW. Jess & the team could not have been more welcoming and helpful with my queries and requests. We stayed at the Mulberry Cottage and it was perfect. All 4 bedrooms have their own ensuite and there’s an additional WC. The kitchen is enormous and well stocked and on arrival we were provided with a huge breakfast basket of eggs, bacon, milk, juice, yoghurt, butter, jam, bread….and a bottle of wine. Plus another bonus from booking direct with AW - we were all given a premium wine tasting experience which we did in late on our final afternoon. We had the adorable & entertaining Emerson as our wine tasting expert and she filled our heads with AW knowledge and also gave us all a great laugh and a wonderful ending to our weekend at AW. Back to the cottage - it also had a working fire place (which we used) and the property was comfortable, private, clean, inviting & wifi. Plus under cover parking and our friend was easily able to charge up his EV. The closest cottage to us was far enough away for us to enjoy ourselves and feel perfectly private. There is nothing I would change - only I wished I’d visited sooner. I’ll certainly be coming back and will only ever book direct with AW - apart from the ‘extras’ - it was cheaper to book direct. Thank you AW, Jess & the booking team and lovely Emmy. I raise my Audrey Wilkinson Moscato to you with thanks from us all!Written 9 September 2024
- Jakefromcronulla0 contributionsBeautiful spot in the Hunter, well known place. Wines here nor there for us.Paid for the $30pp heritage tasting. Half the wines served were different to the tasting sheet or not a side by side comparison as the tasting experience sells as. Unfortunately wines were not to our taste this time around compared to a previous visit. Can get busy and becomes run of the mill tasting. But definitely a beautiful spot to visit in the hunter and a good introduction into Hunter wines.Written 23 August 2024
- chelseamO5368TV0 contributionsIntimate wine tasting experienceMy partner and I enjoyed a premium wine tasting here this afternoon. Beautiful location with stunning views, and the service from the staff was phenomenal - we would personally like to thank Collette for making our first wine tasting experience one to remember!Written 23 August 2024
- 173kierag0 contributionsA must stop in the Hunter Valley + Thanks, Hamish! We had an amazing time at Audrey Wilkinson doing a standard tasting. Hamish, our server, did an outstanding job getting to know our preferences, teaching us about each wine, and swapping in wines he thought we would like more. So glad we went and couldn't recommend the experience or the sweeping winery view enough.Written 22 August 2024

The staff were friendly and knowledgeable.
Unfortunately there just wasn't value for money in the experience though. $160 ($80 pp) for wine tasting and a tiny snack box with a bottle of wine for our picnic lunch!
The vineyards are beautiful, so I'd recommend just booking a normal wine tasting experience, buy a bottle, and spend your remaining $40-50 EACH getting a proper meal (and some...!) somewhere else! I mean, there was literally only 5 crackers in there with some lettuce, antipasto, a few pieces of dried fruit and a tiny biscotti.
Wouldn't recommend the picnic at all.

I am usually a spirit drinker, however after a well informed Masterclass hosted by David, I will be indulging wines more often. I now understand the differences in wines and the application of the correct wine to meals.
The best was yet to come, a picnic in a private room!!!
It had been raining all week and usually we would of enjoyed a picnic outdoor overlooking the rolling hills amongst the vineyards. The guys at the winery arranged a wonderful indoor picnic with flowers, crusty bread, cheeses, cold meats olives and chocolate fudge. A great way to finish a great afternoon out.
Great scenery, great food and great wines.

Lovely way to spend a few hours in the vineyards. Wine masterclass was very relaxed and enjoyable and Meg was well versed on the history of the vineyard, the region, the grape varietals grown at Audrey W and the wines they produce.
We had ours at 12:30pm so would recommend sampling the delights of the picnic basket during the tasting, especially the cheeses. Great to sample older vintages to experience how the wines develop. Highly recommended.

We had been to Audrey Wilkinson before, loved their wines and the amazing views. So we decided to book the masterclass and picnic. We arrived to a cool, crisp glass of sparkling as we wandered around the museum. We were then introduced to Bev who was looking after us. Bev was very knowledgeable and great fun. The wine masterclass focussed on the types wines we already knew we enjoyed as well as opening our horizons and tasting other varietals with some great suggestions on food accompaniments along the way. Following the masterclass we were given our picnic hamper and a bottle of 2017 The Lighthorseman. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t good for an actual picnic in the vines however Bev organised a lovely table for us on the verandah. We would recommend this experience to anyone who enjoys wine, good food and is keen to learn more about wine, the history of a long established vineyard and particularly for a special occasion.

Our group of friends arrived on time for our booking and were met with an uninviting host. We were advised to book two tables due to Covid limits of no more than 6, so it was surprising to see several tables of more than 6. Our host offered us table of 3 for the 7 or us and when bringing this to his attention, he told 7 ladies with a condescending tone to ‘relax everyone’ - this obviously didn’t bode well however a larger table was arranged and we felt to start over and give it a chance. Our first tasting was then poured by the same host and he then said “common we need to keep to schedule”. There was no recovery from that point. It’s not about personal taste as the wine was less than average, commercial and overpriced. You are paying for the view, which is indeed beautiful and if the service experience was pleasant you could possibly accept the wine quality.

Despite the restrictions in place with COVID, this was still a very premium and personalised experience. The staff were knowledgeable and the range of wines that we tasted were delicious. Trying the port from the Barrell was also unique and a bonus. The food at the picnic was great, and you get a whole bottle to enjoy with one of the best views in the hunter.

Zac (spelling?) was fantastic and made what could have been a drab, rainy day dampener of a picnic, amazing. We were not only entertained by Zac’s witty humour but also informed of the wonderful wines on offer at Audrey Wilkinson and the interesting history of Audrey himself. We felt spoilt by Zac, and by the end of the tastings, we were all laughing and enjoying each other’s company before heading out to our individual picnics. Zac should be commended for turning what could have been a ruined experience by a rainy day into a laughter-filled fun event. I’m sure Audrey Wilkinson Winery feel proud to have such a dedicated and passionate employee.
