- Emilie K0 contributionsFabulous experienceWe had a fantastic time doing this tour. Nat was a great guide - knowledgeable and entertaining. It was a great way to explore Newcastle and learn some history along the way.Written 19 September 2023
- Roshanikaru0 contributionsWaste of moneyBasically the tour was useless. A girl came and explained some crimes happened some time back which wasn't interesting or exiting at all. We spent 136 aud for 4 ppl and it was all in vain. She showed us some pictures which were not clear. I seriously don't know why ppl rated this 4 stars. My advice is DON'T waste your time and money. We Basically paid money to walk around new castle's old streets for 90 mnts in heavy rain.Written 26 December 2020
- antthreemonkeys0 contributionsWonderful fun informative tourThanks to Sarah our tour guide and the team at Dark stories for a great tour. I’m born and raised in Newcastle and knew nothing about the dark underbelly and fascinating history going back to the times of early European settlement. Great tour whether you’re a visitor or local!!Written 12 December 2020

- Global607573301740 contributionsGood FunWe went as a group following a recommendation from a friend. The setting was great, nothing like a bush walk in the dark to get you worried. The story was great to start with but we were disappointed in the ending. Most of the actors carried out their roles well, particularly the main character Ivan. Not so thrilled with the detective and the police officer.Overall we had fun, and that was what we went for.Written 13 November 2018
- Linda P0 contributionsEntertaining and enjoyable experienceMy friend and I did a Dark Stories experience and we loved it! The concept is great, a wandering interactive theatre experience and a way to be part of the story. It's an original concept. We did it at the St Ives Wildflower Gardens and it was a great place to do it. I recommend booking in for the evening show. We even saw a baby wallaby! The actors were great!! The storyline entertaining. Thank you Dark Stories!!Written 6 November 2018

Nat took us on this trip at sunset into the night with the stories of the real life events but whilst the theme was of course the dark stories she was fantastic to combine the historical moments, create the scene and give us a historical run down really off the Newcastle! It was an awesome trip but definitely enhanced by the knowledge and story telling skills of our guide Nat!
Thank you for the experience!

How different all the stories are. You wouldn't know there was so much to know about such a compact area. Yasmin was a great performer and brought the stories to life. Our whole group enjoyed it and we will all bring others.

Had a great time. I booked this tour for my husband's birthday knowing that he would really like this but it turned out we both had a great time. Our guide Violet was very entertaining and informative. All the stories were very interesting and we enjoyed the walk around Newcastle and found areas we had never been before (we've lived here for just over a year). I would definitely recommend this to anyone who would like to do a little something different. A great night out!!

Couldn't recommend more highly!
Hannah is a deadset legend and you can tell that she is genuinely interested in the outstanding stories she tells. Main stories are interdispersed with others picked up by word of mouth, which I really appreciated.
The tour takes 90-100 mins and moves at a comfortable place for pretty much anyone. This time of the year it might be a good idea to pack some aeroguard.
Wonderful tour! Thankyou Hannah.

Hannah was our wonderful tour guide last night. Amazing stories and places that you normally wouldn’t find out about.
Torches were supplied, felt safe at night, a few little hills but doable for kids and adults.
Hannah was very accommodating and warning us of upcoming stories in case we didn’t want to hear them.
This is a must do and perfect on a summers night.
THANK YOU HANNAH🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Mel, our guide, knew all the stories and brought them to life with a great style of telling. The walk itself is fairly leisurely and we were lucky enough to have perfect weather with a sky full of stars and a nice breeze. Altogether a great 90 minutes. Loved it.

Such an enjoyable night being a tourist in our own city. Have lived here for years and learnt so much about our town! Our guide, Emma was lovely, presented history in a way that was intetesting/appropriate for all ages and went to the extra effort of making us feel at ease. Would highly recommend this whether a visitor to Newcastle or a local.

A pleasant walk around Newcastle, however not as dark and interesting as expected. Our guide was friendly and pleasant, but possibly had somewhere else to be after the tour as she spoke very fast and walked far too quickly for even the most seasoned walker. Guide didn't seem particularly invested in the tour, and it felt a little scripted.
