What a fabulous way to learn some more about how an oyster gets on your plate and how oyster farming works on the Clyde. Not too much paddling if you haven't done that sort of thing before. Even as a regular paddler this tour was excellent. Region X were amazing and highly recommend.Written 24 November 2024

Pace was more than manageable. We were so fortunate to be part of a wonderful group and guided so excellently, by Eva and Dave. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Seeing dolphins sleeping on Day 2 and the constant sightings of whales along the way, were definitely highlights, topped off by the serene paddle in the kayaks! Food was plentiful and delicious! This trip is a must do to add to your bucket list!Written 17 October 2024

- stuarty9840 contributionsOnce in a Life Time ExperienceAmazing experience, from booking to finishing the team have been amazing! We set off bright and early from a local beach, and cruised into open water on our way to toll gate islands. The whales were in the distance the whole time, until around half way. At this point a mother whale and calf came right up to the kayaks! Truly once in a life time experience. The tour was safe, easy going and fun for all in the group. The afternoon tea was such a nice touch. Thanks againWritten 28 September 2024

A group of 12 of us went on this tour at the end of a week celebrating finishing uni, even though it was winter the weather was sunny and warm and the seals and whales were out! It was an unreal experience, going through rock channels, surrounded by seals and stopped off for some snorkelling with a bunch of cool fish and Port Jackson shark! The morning tea was way above expectations, with a fruit platter, cheese platter, cheesecake, brownies and hot drinks. The guides (Josh, Angus and Will) were unreal, making sure everyone was confident in the kayak before heading out but then giving us the space to explore. Couldn't recommend more, great value!

The kayak tour was fabulous. Josh and Amy were extremely professional and highly competent tour leaders that ensured we were all well equipped to operate the sea kayak confidently and safely. We kayaked from the beautiful Guerilla Bay to Barlings Beach visiting a Seal colony and sheltered bays along the way. Josh and Amy explained the tides, sea life, landmarks and the bird life as we travelled along the shoreline. There were plenty of little rest breaks along the way culminating in a beautiful morning tea before we completed our tour into Barlings Beach. Highly recommended. We are already looking into other Region X tours for the near future. Thankyou again for a wonderful day.

We have booked a number of Ocean Kayak expeditions with Region X and they never disappoint. Josh is always spot on regarding the weather and conditions and always tailors the itinerary to suit. We kayaked from Guerilla Bay to Garden Bay and stopped at a cove off Pretty Point for morning tea and a snorkel. Tasty and healthy morning tea provided. Excellent freshly ground and brewed coffee. The equipment provided is always top-notch. Photos came through promptly. Dave, the guide, was professional and excellent company. Our 3 teenage boys really enjoyed their birthday adventure. We saw seals off Burrewarra Point and lots of marine life during the snorkelling section.

A wonderful kayak tour overall! A bit bumpy at the start with an email bouncing back that resulted in us arriving late, but the tour guides were super accommodating and easy going, which set the tone for us in having a great experience despite the minor drama. We were also the slowest kayak to start with as this was our first kayak experience but again the experienced guides were helpful and built great rapport with us. We eventually got the hang of it though and cruised to second place on the way back. The stopover, morning tea and snorkel were relaxing and heaps of fun with great company all around. Many thanks!

Hi Zaki ,
It was SO lovely meeting you both. I hope you had an amazing New Years!
You definitely are some of the fastest learners I've had on tour!! I truly hope you come paddling with us again soon as there's so much to see down here and next time we'll take a different route for a completely different experience.
Thanks for being so understanding about the booking error. Two legends!
Warm wishes,
Amy

I spoke with RegionX a couple weeks out from being in BB as I was on my own. Josh was very responsive and engaging and promised to get in touch on my first day in the area to discuss options based on other people also attending. He was true to his word, so I could plan the rest of my week. After reviewing weather and sea conditions, he chose Thursday as the pick of the week... and it certainly was. I felt included and valued and had a fantastic experience - seals, snorkelling and kayaking through rock channels were definite highlights, as was the piping hot, brewed coffee with a fabulous morning tea spread (much needed after the early start). Thank you - this was everything I expected and more. I'd do this again in a heart-beat!

We have had the pleasure of 4 sea kayaking experiences and each has been great - most recently it was the half day tour. We have found all instructors to be very professional and friendly. The food provided has been delicious. We’ve always been given some interesting information about the area we are in and always felt safe and well supported. We’ll be back.

If you're looking for a socially distanced staycation adventure then look no further! They provided us with directions via google maps to the starting point to make sure we didn't get lose. All the gear is provided including dry bags and spray jackets. Out on the open water with nothing but fresh air we were on the lookout for sealife and were lucky enough to spot a mink whale. We had some breaks on the water for snacks which was delicious dried mango and chocolate. Josh was always patient with us as my sister and I weren't the strongest paddlers, thanks Josh! At morning tea snorkelling gear was also available for anyone who wanted to go for a dip and another delicious spread was provided. Would love to do another kayaking trip with them :)

It was an early start this morning, a southerly breeze and overcast skies made it a little fresh but we soon warmed up once we were kitted out in life jackets and spray skirts. After a quick lesson on how to steer the kayak and how to escape if we ended upside down, we hit the water and paddled north from Garden Bay cruising past Lilly Pilli and Circuit beach. We saw dolphins really close to our kayak surfing the waves before landing at black sand beach to stretch our legs and enjoy a picnic morning tea. After our rest we continued north and landed at Wimbie Beach. Thanks #Regionx for a great morning out on the water. Highly recommend this trip, we felt very safe with Josh. His knowledge of the ocean, skill and expertise made us feel at ease and we learnt some interesting things on how to preserve the biodiversity of the ocean.

The outstanding tour guides made this half day trip a wonderful and educational experience for our group of young and (slightly) old.
The team at RegionX are wonderful ambassedeurs for their region and its flora, fauna and natural wonders. Josh and Troy are very friendly, knowledgeable and safety conscious.
The morning tea and snorkel at "Nightmare Bay" was a highlight!
We are all looking forward to the next tour soon!

Fantastic day Kataking . Loved exploring the ocean and the little untouched bays and coves , sure gives a whole new perspective out on the water . A bit of swell made for some extra fun and a quick walk at morning tea provided spectacular views . As a solo traveller it’s often difficult to book into tours but Josh was more than welcoming . Look forward to coming back again for Whale season .
Ps : Josh also is a great car pit crew having my flat tyre changed in no time .

Joanne,
Great to hear that you had such an amazing time exploring the beautiful region of Batemans Bay and surrounds by sea. We have a wonderful coastline with some awesome spots to stop and have a break and soak in the environment. We would love to see you back for our whale season from August onwards. Josh is handy at many things and glad he got you back on the road asap.
