As part of a 3 week trip around the South Island my wife and I had always wanted to do a trip to Milford Sound. We chose VIP Tour because of their great reviews and were not disappointed. By arrangement Reece picked us up in an 18 seat tour van from our accommodation. There were a total of 11 in our bus that day. We had paid for a packed lunch which was worth the extra small cost. Reece, the friendly driver was a fountain of knowledge having done the tour for over 20 years. The scenery was amazing; we stopped at various places going to and on the way back from Milford Sound so Reece could show us various points of interest. Given that in the peak tourist times before Covid there were daily, approx 100 buses going to and fro from Milford but on our day there was our group plus a small group from another bus in the car park at Milford which had spaces for scores of buses. On our boat trip I counted about 25 people including a few kids. The boat's captain through out the trip told us of various points of interest pointing out penguins on the shore, seals basking on the rocks or pods of dolphins which came up to the side of the boat and put a real show on. You could almost reach out and touch them. We were lucky in that the day was brilliantly fine and the sea was calm. There were the usual waterfalls to see and these are amazing but of course when it is raining there are a lot more. All in all it was an amazing trip which we thoroughly enjoyed and would recommend to anyone.

This tour company is outstanding. The coach, the stops along the way, the boat trip with Mitre Peak cruises were all perfect. We have travelled a lot and there are some experiences that you will never forget. Even though we are New Zealanders we were blown away. A huge thanks to Reece the driver, so safe and knowledgeable with a great personality. We could not have asked for more,

Justin was very thoughtful and knowledgeable. Picked up and dropped off to the door in Te Anau, Just in gave relevant and intermittent commentary. We stopped for a few walks and a comfort break along the hours trip to milford sound. Justin was very thoughtful informing us of which gates/ cruises we were to head to and what to do to take best advantage of the experience. He collected us at the exit , stopped off for few more sightseeing opportunities on the way back, and also supplied umbrellas . Thanks mate

This is a must if you have time while staying in Te Anau. They pick you up from your accommodation and the driver gives you commentary while on your drive but not all the time. Just enough though so you feel like you get information on the places you are seeing and driving through but not too much that you get information overload. You stop on the way there and back and certain points for amazing photo opportunities.

Worth every penny! So worth the early morning with a personal collection. Stop at all the lookouts before all the crowds arrive. Excellent driver and interesting history and explanation of the area. Cruise is a highlight of the day and the lunch is delicious.

We couldn't have ask for a better day, our tour guide Mark was amazing! Knew all the stops to make our day just get better and better and we just felt so safe with his driving and knowledge of the roads! everything was taken care and so easy. Absolutely recommend! our day couldn't have been more amazing.

Fabulous service. Picked up on time in a lovely comfortable van. Driver Justin was amazing, knowledgeable and knew where and when to stop to give us the best opportunities for photos and experience. The road can be dangerous and being driven by an experienced driver allowed us to sit back and enjoy the journey. Boat trip and lunch was amazing. The small number of passengers really allows you to get to know each other and share the experience. Thanks VIP Milford would highly recommend your service.

Despite problems with changing weather condition, VIP Milford kept us fully informed and did everything to ensure we had a memorable day. Our driver, Justin, was friendly and knowledgeable and made for a very pleasant journey. The cruise and lunch were excellent. We highly recommend VIP if you want a top quality day at a very reasonable price

This was a great trip. Beautiful scenery everywhere. Lots of stops on the way to and from the boat to enable us to take photos. Justin, our bus driver was fantastic. On the way back to Te Anau, some idiot was flying their drone above the road. It hit our windscreen with a great deal of force, luckily it didn't break the windscreen. I can't believe how calm Justin was about the whole thing. I was sitting in the front seat and didn't even realise what had actually hit us. Justin drove further up the road until it was safe to turn around and drove back to where the drone operator was standing. Justin explained to him that it was actually illegal to fly drones there. He took all his details and then we continued our trip home. Credit to Justin for keeping his cool and keeping us safe! Well done!

Echoing the reviews below, this was a great day out. Being driven from Te Anau gave my husband a rest from the driving and the minibus is very comfortable. We had our 3 year old with us and he enjoyed the trip. The hot buffet lunch was good - all in all recommended.

We would highly recommend using VIP Milford. We were picked up promptly at 7:45 from our motel and our driver Justin was friendly, knowledgeable and very happy to answer any of our questions. He provided an excellent commentary all the way to Milford, stopping off for photos and pointing out things of interest. We would highly rec commend getting Justin. Our vehicle was new, spacious and accommodated the 12 of us easily. The seats were very comfortable and the windows provided plenty of viewing area. Our boat trip with Real Experiences included a buffet lunch which was very good and Justin was waiting for us on our return. Again he stopped off on the way back to show us other areas of interest for great photos. Thank-you VIP and Justin for a great day.
