About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 714tamsind0 contributionsWonderful!Serena was an amazing tour guide - super knowledgeable and friendly! Would defo recommend the tour of Glenorchy and Paradise, everywhere we turned was a beautiful photo op.Written 7 September 2024
- BubblesCrook0 contributionsYes, I've been to Paradise and Glenorchy!I really enjoyed an afternoon tour to Paradise and Glenorchy on 29 May. Libby was an excellent guide and driver. It was a small group which was nice. The audio of Maori myths and early settlers was very interesting and the scenery and photo stops were spectacular. Glenorchy is a quaint little town and I had plenty of time to take photos. I would definitely recommend this tour if you are visiting Queenstown.Written 13 June 2024
- Travellingisliving830 contributionsFun way to spend a morning, driver guide was new, but very friendly and fun. Gorgeous sceneryMy friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our almost "private" tour with the driver guide. Sadly I can't remember his name, but he was originally from Argentina, really very nice gentleman and looked after us so well. He was right on time with pick up, and was really flexible when we wanted to stay a little longer at a couple of places, and we still got back to Queenstown on time. The only thing I didn't love about the tour was having to put headphones on to listen to commentary, I'd rather just hear it from the guide, but the commentary we did hear was very interesting though and we didn't have any tech issues. The stops were lovely, the scenery was spectacular and we really enjoyed our morning with the guide. We were lucky to have a spectacular sunny day too. I would have loved to have seen a sheep shearing demo but they weren't doing them that day. My friend and I loved the time at the end at the farm feeding the animals. Very cute and lots of laughing when the sheep kept following us for food when we had run out and kept headbutting us on the backside. This was the very first tour my friend and I did on our 4 week NZ trip and it was very memorable. Thank you for what you do and your wonderful customer service. We really enjoyed ourselves.Written 25 January 2024
- rachiemar0 contributionsGood and Fun with WineThis wine tour was incredible. It was one of our favorite days of our ten day trip. We were able to visit 4 wineries and enjoyed some wonderful local wines.Written 24 August 2023
- alisonbD1235NG0 contributionsGreat tourWe had a wonderful day exploring many wineries in the area. Nigel was an excellent driver and had a wealth of knowledge which he was happy to share with us.Written 7 August 2023
- G5098HAlead0 contributionsWinery Tour with NigelNigel was such an amazing guide and driver for the day! We got picked up promptly at the pickup site in town, and because it was just my partner and I Nigel accommodated where we wanted to go with a few scenic stops along the way. He told us some great facts about QT history, and just had great chats in general. Would highly recommend!!Written 20 July 2023
- Chardnuts0 contributionsThe best wine tour ever.A great service, delivered with panache. Sam the driver was outstanding. Very knowledgeable, had the right friendly but I’m in charge balance. Very accomodating. The concept of a drop off and pick up schedule worked really well.Written 16 May 2023
- 937evag0 contributionsNice but not VIPHad a quite lovely day exploring the wine region. Most wineries were nice and interesting. Wouldn’t say this is a VIP experience. The driver didn’t really know about the wineries so it was difficult to choose. More information than just a timetable would have been helpful. Also asked them for a recommendation for a lunch reservation at booking but didn’t receive an answer. Positive; fewer people and nicer car than the other tours. Most tastings are 15$. So for 2 people you have to add another 120$.Written 9 January 2023
- PAMCC10 contributionsGreat scenery and a pleasant morningGreat trip to view the lake and Glenorchy as well as some lord of the rigs sites, nice guide in 12 seater bus, but played her music a little loud whilst driving Fantastic sceneryWritten 2 January 2023
- ipshita24_0 contributionsBeautiful!Amazing half day tour! Glenorchy and Paradise are so beautiful with breathtaking views at every moment. Our tour guide, Dave was super knowledgeable and friendly throughout with a bit of sense of humour as well! Totally worth it AAA+++Written 1 January 2023
- ausafv20150 contributionsGood Half-Day TripThe service vehicle is good and the guide is friendly. Glenorchy is a beautiful place to visit and this half-day slow paced tour is perfect as they give you ample time on your own to explore.Written 21 November 2022
- JoanieM6200 contributionsWorthwhile, but not as special as I thought it would beThe day was nice, but it didn't match the description provided by the Travel Agent. We went to a farm to watch sheep sheering, but it was a video, not a live demonstration. We were supposed to meet and feed farm animals, but they were all in pens near the building and we simply walked a path through all the adjacent pens. We were given GPS-activated headsets for stories and commentary, but almost half of them didn't work, so the driver was constantly stopping to see if he could find ones that worked. The vehicle was supposed to be an all terrain van with glass roof to give us the best views of the mountains and lake... no glass roof, no all terrain feature which was disappointing. The driver/tour guide was excellent, though. He provided great commentary, stopped at interesting spots for photos and to allow us to walk around a little. I guess I would have given this a higher rating if I didn't have greater expectations because of the description we were given of what the tour was supposed to be.Written 18 November 2022
- J P0 contributionsWell worth goingGreat information and nice-paced: there was enough time at each stop to not feel rushed. We were upgraded to this Tour as ours had insufficient attendees. Several interesting stops along the way, with the Glenorchy Animal Experience particularly enjoyed. Very knowledgeable Guide who was easy to talk with.Written 14 November 2022
- Shayne H0 contributionsA morning well spent. Seeing the local sites and enjoying some cultural history. An excellent tour. The guide was very knowledgeable and supplemented the tour commentary with good local insight. It was a nice mix of Cultural Heritage and Natural Heritage. The stop at the gold mining museum was fantastic, we were given the history of the local gold industry from a person involved directly in mining. The old but still working equipment displays were great to see and we then spent some time panning for gold after some good instruction. Highly Recommended.Written 18 October 2022
- isaham30 contributionsFantasticGreat value for money. Our driver was awesome and gave us great tips for wineries and a great overview of the history of the region. Definitely recommend!Written 25 July 2022

21.4.'21(Wed.) We went in an air-conditioned 'All Terrain' Vehicle with very comfortable seats. We were given 'headsets' to listen to very interesting and informative commentaries from Ewan (our Driver) and also pre-recorded commentaries about interesting places and info.
When we arrived in Glenorchy we had just under 2 hours to do what we wanted. While the others stayed in the village, I did the 'Glenorchy Lagoon Boardwalk' on the 'Southern Circuit' of the Glenorchy Walkway. It was 3.2km and took 1 and a half hours. Great scenery, easy walking, with good 'directional'' signs. I loved it all, and I would thoroughly recommend this 'Special' to Locals and Visitors alike. You won't regret it! Mary Joyce Q'T., N.Z.

I had a great time on this tour of Glenorchy. The driver Ewan seamlessly integrated his commentary with the recorded commentary which plays based on your satellite location to ensure you're in the right spot - very cool. The transport was a new, slick Mercedes van that was very comfortable. This tour is extremely scenic - you get amazing views of the lake both ways, and plenty of time to spend in Glenorchy and take photos.
This company earns extra points in my eyes as they still conducted the tour even without a minimum number of people, which most activities don't do. I also appreciated that the historical facts that were told were not whitewashed and recognised the realities of the immigrant Chinese labourers and native Maori people.
Prior to booking, I got swift answers to my queries. Highly recommend this company and wish them lots of success in future!

We spent a perfect morning in Glenorchy, driven by Ernie. He was a great driver, full of facts about the history of the area around Queenstown and Glenorchy- we learned a lot and enjoyed the jokes! Glenorchy itself was cute little town- we had perfect weather and spent about an hour on the loop around the lagoon then stopped in at some of the shops before returning to Queenstown. Just the right amount of time to see everything we wanted to. We'd highly recommend this trip.

Picked up promptly at the designated time and location. Appreciated the small size of the group. Our driver had a quirky/ odd sense of humor (it has to be difficult trying to entertain a variety of people) which may have been lost on a group of people who don’t speak English as a primary language. He did offer some historical information and pointed out places of interest. We made one stop for photos on our way to Glenorchy. Had a couple hours of free time to wander and efficient return home. This is a very hands off trip. Essentially you are getting a ride, which is primarily what I was looking for!

This trip was so lush, beautiful air conditioned travel in great seats and only 4 of us on the trip! So grateful they didn’t shuffle it rebook us and we still got to go. The driver has great facts and there’s gps triggered audio commentary too. In Glenorchy you can get a bite, tour the wharf and see the original library and foundations of early buildings or do a loop walk. We relaxed and took lots of pics and enjoyed the glimpse into rural life

Glenorchy Kiwi Special 4 hr Tour for $49 offered good value for visitors wanting to simply enjoy the magnificent scenery along Lake Wakatipu and 2 hours at leisure in Glenorchy. The 4WD luxury vehicle with glass roof was extremely comfortable and our driver MORGAN was very accommodating and even dropped us at our hotel at the end of the tour.
