About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Traveler541366116010 contributionsYou can't beat wine tasting in the sunshine and under blue skiesExcellent tour with Beth leading the way. A good mix of Brits, Canadians, Americans and an Aussie. We'd have bought more wine but for the shipping cost to the UK. Great to meet "Q"Written 25 February 2025
- lesleyt7470 contributionsFun and informative day wine tasting. We had a fabulous day trying the wines from the Otago region. Shanay was an excellent tour guide and really made the day fun and also informative. We really enjoyed the tour and would highly recommend.Written 24 February 2025
- Dean4290 contributionsLots of Great Wine!Great choice of wineries! Our driver Shanai was a lot of fun and added a lot to the experience. Kinross was the best winery we stopped at in my opinion.Written 24 February 2025
- David T0 contributionsWonderful day with beautiful wines and an excellent hostThis was a really interesting & informative wine tasting day, made particularly enjoyable by our host Beth - her friendly approach and shared info was perfectWritten 23 February 2025
- B1072TCsaraht0 contributionsGreat day touring wineries and learning about NZ wines with Shanay!Had a wonderful day with Shanay, who manages to strike that perfect balance between professional guide/driver and super fun new friend. We had a great group with lots of fun folks and perfect weather. I feel much more educated about NZ wines as each tasting came with some information and commentary by the winemakers. 10/10 would recommend for wine lovers who want to learn.Written 15 February 2025
- Bonski630 contributionsQueenstown Wine TourWe went on the Altitude small group wine tour today with Altitude ! It was a great day with DO who was our Tour leader and driver for the day . She made us very welcome on the day and was great fun to be around . We tasted some great wines from some of the best wine makers in NZ and the World . We would thoroughly recommend this tour with DO all of the Wineries were great especially the first one Gibbston Valley !!! The wine cave was amazing . They had some of the most delicious wines . - DaveandMargE0 contributionsFantastic day out wine tastingIt was a great trip enjoying tasting the different wines at 4 wineries. Would definitely recommend the tour. We were a group of nine with four others.Written 12 February 2025
- Gordon05040 contributionsA great day outI have been on a few wine tours as this is certainly one of the best. Ash was our guide for the day and he really made it a fun day out. Stopped at 4 different places for wine, all of which were very good and different, even if the wine were mostly Sauvinon Blanc and Pinot Noir. Lunch was extra but very good (tip if there are 2 of you it would be enough to share a pizza).Written 9 February 2025
- 95philipm0 contributionsAltitude Tours - Mount CookAn excellent day tour to Mount Cook from Queenstown. A very knowledgable and friendly guide Tom stopped at several interesting points along the way and also explained the options once we reached Mount Cook - there are a few so it would pay to think about what you want to do. I chose to walk the short glacier hiking trail and visits to the Edmund Hilary and local museums (entry costs included in the tour price). Both were excellent. Another option is the Hooker Valley track which several members of the group chose. The tour group is small (unlike many other operators which we saw with a full-size bus), the minibus is very comfortable and it means that we don't overcrowd a pitstop for a bite to eat! The pickup went as scheduled. Highly recommend Altitude Tours, in fact I have booked with them to visit Milford Sound.Written 8 February 2025
- Ozflash0 contributionsDefinitely worth itWe visited as 2 couples, different generations and all really enjoyed the tour. Ana was great with information and even had time to swing by the Bungee jump to see a couple of jumps. Tried some great wine and made some purchases. One of us even managed to find a white wine they liked having only been a fan of red wine. A great day!Written 5 February 2025

- RandR1010 contributionsNo to be missed winery tourWe had a great day and trip with Melissa. The 4 of us went on the tour with a couple from the US, a young lady from the UK and 3 lasses from Australia. What a great group. Melissa took us to 5 wineries and a very nice lunch. The surprise winery was Brennan, an absolute not to be missed winery. All in all, a long, fun filled days with a great hostess and terrific wines. This is definitely the tour company Togo with.Written 22 January 2025

What a fabulous evening we had. Gorgeous wineries and wines, and a wonderful group on the bus. Holly our guide is just wonderful. We loved this (and her) so much we booked the full day wine sampler tour for a few days later. We were on the twilight tour with a contiki group - and as a more mature couple we initially thought Oh oh! We couldn't have been more wrong. We were all firm friends at the end of the evening. So much laughter and stunning scenery. Wines are amazing. We definitely recommend it. Thanks Holly and thanks Altitude! We did 3 tours with you during our stay and each one was perfect.

First visited Gibbson Wines - lovely location,5 tastings ,unusual names for wines!! Photo attached. Second visit was Kinross with 5/6 tastings- best was Wild Irishman pinot noir. Final visit was craft brewery with 4 beer tastings… pilsner lovely with seasonal brew nr 4. Back to Queenstown at 7pm. Highly recommended

I missed some of the tour and was able to attend the third spot. The wine was not good, gave me a huge headache. Others also complained. And the quantity of food (anti pasta) was too little.
If you want to cancel needs to be within 48 hours which is annoying, should be 24 hours
Not really worth the price, my friends suggest other places

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We're truly sorry to hear that your experience with us fell short of expectations. It's disappointing that you missed part of the tour and encountered issues with the wine quality and quantity of food provided.
We strive to offer a comprehensive and enjoyable experience at each of our tour stops, with each location showcasing its unique specialties. We understand that missing out on part of the tour can detract from the overall experience, and we apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.
Regarding the antipasti platters, they are meant to provide a light snack to complement the tastings and are not intended to replace a full meal. However, we appreciate your feedback and will certainly take it into consideration as we strive to improve our offerings.
Thank you again for sharing your thoughts with us. We value your input and hope to welcome you back soon.

Great tour with Ana as our guide and driver. Great stop in Santa Rosa, nice vintner selections and beer at all three stops for the beer drinkers. Everyone was happy and the bus karaoke was in capable hands of one of the passengers. Great fun 🤩

A lovely afternoon spent with Danny doing a 3 venue wine tour. He was extremely knowledgeable and fun to be around. All of the wines were very drinkable with the Kinross winery really standing out. Many thanks...ps, the restaurant recommendation (Botswana Butchery) was very appreciated.

We did two tours with Altitude Tours, two days in a row and they were the best two tours I've ever done, anywhere in the world. The first tour was a private tour with the lovely, Alia. She took us sight seeing and to numerous vineyards - it was absolutely MAGIC. Alia was so knowledgeable, fun and I had one of the best days I've ever had. The next day we did the mission to the Milford Sound with Tania. The "bus" (a gorgeous 16 seater) was so comfortable, Tania was a wonderful guide, talking us through each area, stopping plenty of times there and back (I was a bit worried about toilet breaks, but there was absolutely nothing to worry about) and then the Milford Sound... it's got to be seen to be believed, even then, it's unbelievable, and well worth the long drive there and back. I will never go with any other tour company in Queenstown and will recommend Altitude Tours to anyone and everyone. Thank you SO much Alia, Tanya and Altitude Tours.

The experience was great. We had the option of doing beer or wine at 2 of the 3 stops. One of the stop is a brewery too but i still went with wine for the entire night. Perfect mid afternoon wine tour. Our tour guide Alia is nothing less of remarkable! She made us feel at home and very attentive to everyone in the group regardless how exotic you may be!

Had the most incredible time with our friends on this wine tour led by Elaina (sorry if I’ve spelt this incorrectly!). Her infectious energy meant we knew we were going to have an incredible day from the first minute and it didn’t disappoint. All day, she was nothing short of fantastic. Would go on the tour again just for the vibes, but the wineries were fantastic as well, especially Kinross!

Alia was our tour guide and she was so informative and made sure I had such a great time. The places we went to were so beautiful and the variety of wines and beers was great! I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone who is even slightly interested in seeing the wine regions around Queenstown.

Sorry for the delay, I forgot it's been a while, the first one looked like a church, the second one was more out doorsy like patio style and the last looked like a barn that served beer and pizza.
