Watch out for this company
Apr. 2019 • Solo
I booked and paid for this trip on 4th April, the company sent me an e-mail saying that they were not running a trip that day and booked me in for the next day as I was not going to be in Queenstown the next day I cancelled it,but no refund was offered,i have written to the company twice and received no reply, and getting through to Trip advisor seems to be just about impossible.

Kia Ora Wiliam, this one appears to have slipped through the cracks. Please if this has not been resolved to send an email to travel@kiwiex.co.nz with your reference number and our customer experience team will be able to help you out with this. Cheers.

Juicy Cruise Milford Sound Tour
May 2019
Our driver Brenden, was really great! The bus ride there was good but the cruise on the sound was even better!! A must do activity. You have the option of having lunch in included or not. We did not but the bus stops before the sound for a 30 min stop and you can pick up a take out lunch there. Try to go on a rainy day as you will see more waterfalls.

A Must-Do Experience!
Mar. 2018 • Couples
We went on the overnight visit to Doubtful Sound on the Fjordland Navigator and it was definitely a highlight of our trip. We were transported from Queenstown via coach bus (a 2-hour ride) to Manapouri, with interesting commentary offered by our bus driver throughout. At Manapouri we boarded a ferry to cross Lake Manapouri (about 45 minutes), and at the opposite end we boarded another coach bus for the final 45 minute drive up and over the pass to Doubtful Sound. Once at the Sound, we boarded the Fjordland Navigator - there were about 8 crew (including a full-time naturalist) and roughly 75 passengers for our tour. We stayed in a "twin" cabin with just 2 twin beds and a private toilet/shower, but there were many cabins that slept 4 people (I assume in 2 sets of bunkbeds). Since the only time you spend in your cabin is to sleep, it really doesn't matter how tiny the room and amenities are, though. We cruised Doubtful Sound for about 3 hours, soaking up the incredible mountains, waterfalls, and forests that surround you on every side. The naturalist provided almost continuous commentary about the area, including historical and scientific background that was very interesting. After anchoring for the evening, passengers were given the opportunity to kayak and swim before dinner. The crew prepared a delicious dinner that all passengers shared in the large galley/dining room. It was very enjoyable meeting people from all over the world and exchanging travel stories. The next morning we were all up with the sun for a hearty breakfast and further cruising within the sound, particularly looking for dolphins and other wildlife, and we observed 3 mother/daughter dolphin pairs. We were back at the dock at 10am, and then retraced our journey back to Queenstown, arriving there around 4 pm. The scenery on this trip was breathtaking, and different than what you will see anywhere else in NZ, so worth the effort!

What a trip!!
Aug. 2017 • Couples
I thought it would simply be a bus picking us up in town and taking to Milford Sound and back but I was so wrong. It is great tour!
We had an amazing tour guide who taught us a lot about the local history and the Maoris' beliefs. Interesting stories and plenty of stops for us to enjoy the scenery, waterfalls, the Mirror Lake and take many pictures :)
The boat tour in Milford Sound is amazing and a must trip if you are visiting South Island or Queenstown. We've seen a dolphin, penguins, seals, great waterfalls, superb mountains covered in ice and the list goes on!
We were travelling with a campervan but I'm glad we've chosen to go by bus and with Milford Explorer instead of driving ourselves. It is a long drive from Queenstown (all day tour) and we even managed to sleep a bit in the bus!
