Access remote wilderness areas on this Queenstown jet-boat tour across Lake Wakatipu and down the Kawarau River. The high-speed 1-hour ride is guaranteed to get your adrenaline pumping as your expert driver maneuvers into 360-degree spins, performs fishtail turns and navigates between narrow canyon walls. Snap photos of your scenic surroundings, including the Remarkables mountain range, and watch bungy jumpers plunge from the Kawarau Bridge. You have several tour times to choose from throughout the day.
What to Expect
This exhilarating jet-boat ride from Queenstown covers 29 miles (47 km) of waterways at speeds up to 60 mph (95 kph). Make your way to the jet boat base at the downtown pier and board the powerful vessel for a 1-hour narrated tour across Lake Wakatipu and the Kawarau River.

After a safety briefing given by your driver-guide, snap on your provided life jacket over any wet-weather gear. Once you pull away from the Queenstown waterfront and race across Lake Wakatipu, admire stunning views of Queenstown Bay, the Remarkables mountain range, Cecil Peak and Kelvin Peninsula. Listen to commentary on regional history, geology and wildlife as the jet boat skims across the shimmering cobalt waters of New Zealand’s longest lake.

You’ll zoom under the Kawarau Bridge and navigate through narrow passageways of the Kawarau River. Designed to soar across shallow water and perform tight turns, the jet boat grants you unrivaled access to the stunning wilderness beyond the Kawarau Dam. Hold on tight as your driver maneuvers the jet boat into 360-degree spins, fishtails and long slides that kick up sheets of spray.

Your jet-boat ride ends back at the dock in Queenstown, where you can purchase photos of your adventure.

Great fun

Did a 25 minute tour of the lake. Had a lot of fun doing this with numerous 360* turns. Spend 20$ at devil burger restraunt and get 20$ discount on your boat ride. Sadly we got to know this after our ride.

A bit of fun but pricey

The jet boat is good fun but it's one of those things, once youve done it once you probably wouldn't do it again because it is quite pricey.

The highlight of our Queenstown trip

This was great fun and value for money. I took my 6 & 9-year-olds and they loved it too - even with frozen fingers in the late Autumn climate. Would highly recommend.

Date of experience: May 2018

Our first time on a jetboat was an awesome experience! Our skipper, Levi was great. He went through the safety instructions before we took off. He was funny and gave a hell of a ride with spins and turns that made the experience really memorable....More

Always good to hear you can take away some good memories of our jet boat adventure, yes you definitely need to dress up warm if the weather is on the colder side. I will pass on your feedback to Levi :) Thanks again
