Excellence service from booking in office right through to the guides in the trees.Being new to the experience I was a tad bit nervous but our guides were extremely kind and respectful. Chose to hike up via the Tiki Trail (only other way to get up is purchasing a separate ticket for the gondola). Friendly and knowledgable staff, and opportunities to do tricks on the lines. This was an awesome activity to do with our group of 6. It was fun for all physical abilities. All able to challenge themselves in different ways. The guides were very knowledgeable and made it a fun experience. We decided to upgrade our packages on the morning and the service of the lady on the phone was great, and was able to reschedule us for an hour later.
Would recommend bringing a lot of warm layers as it does get cold.

Kia ora Paige,
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review!
We love to hear when people have had an awesome experience out on tour with our Guides! And we certainly approve of the decision on upgrading, I'm sure no one regretted getting to zip the worlds steepest tree to tree zipline!
Great advise to other readers about the layers, it certainly does get chilly, especially in the winter months so we encourage people to really rug up!
Thanks again for the great feedback!

It was really fun because they taught us how to do fun tricks like going upside down and going off the platform backwards. They also taught us how to ball up to go faster on the steepest zipline. I felt very safe and secure the whole time.
The views were really stunning in some places, and it included some good information on the local environment and history, which I appreciated.
There was quite a bit of wait time at each platform as we waited for the rest of the group. We were supposed to finish by 5 and we actually finished around 5:20, which made us rush a bit to our next activity, but overall not a big deal, especially since this was mostly due to two last minute sign ups to the group just as we were about to leave.

Kia ora Josephine,
Thanks for leaving us with your great feedback!
I am delighted to hear you had a good time out on tour! Well done for getting upside down! It certainly makes fr a unique way to see the views as well as make it even more exhilarating.
It is also great to know you appreciated the information the guides provided. They are pretty passionate about what they do and getting our guests engaged and interested in whats going on in the surrounding environment.
There is some waiting between lines while the rest of the group get zipping but we hope that the surrounding views and information bards make more interesting. As well as cheering on (or laughing at!) other zippers! The full duration of our tours is 2.5 hours to 3 hours and so as you booked the 2.40 departure your tour finished within the allotted time frame. I hope you enjoyed your next activity and didn't have to run!
Thanks again for your great review and we hope to see you again if you come back to QT!
Kind regards,
The Ziptrek Team

Fun-tastic!
Like many people, I have a fear of heights. Although nervous, I had a fun time zip lining for three hours through the tree-lined vista as we descended toward the town. The views of Queenstown never get tired. Our guides were excellent, sharing knowledge about the eco system, educating us about NZ and the lakes, birds, flora etc. We had a seven year old girl with us and she loved it! No fear what so ever!
Do yourself a favour, sign up for this wonderful experience. You’ll have fun, meet lovely people, see amazing views and contribute to the eco initiatives!

A thoroughly enjoyable 4 zip line ecotour. Hosts Marian, Joseph and Alex were true pros. Safe but excellent fun. Learned lots about conservation and ecology, and had a bunch of fun singing upside down on a zip line too with a magnificent backdrop of lake Wakapitu to boot

Kia ora 111gerardn,
Thank you so much for your amazing review!
So glad to hear that you found our Moa 4-Line Tour to be thoroughly enjoyable! Our friendly Guest Services Agent Marion and professional Guides Joseph and Alex are great at what they do and love interacting with guests!
It sounds like you really did make the most of our optional challenges, even combining two challenges together - singing and zipping upside down. Nice work! The backdrop of Lake Wakatipu and the Remarkables sure are magnificent and provide a great environment for learning about conservation and ecology! It's great to hear that you learned a lot from the eco talks and had a bunch of fun while doing so!
Thanks for coming on tour with us and safe travels!

What an epic eco-adventure! A big thanks to Max, Cathy and the Ziptrek team for looking after us and giving our family a fun-filled experience.
We loved the musicians playing from each of the treehouses on this special collaboration, a real teat to hear live music while still buzzing from the ride! The kids were fearless and couldn't wait to fly through the trees, a testament to the friendly and safety conscious guides. A super fun way to spend your day in Queenstown, we'd be up for another go!

Was initially concerned at the high cost of this for a family of four but by the end we had spent 3 hours of fun in the beautiful scenery above Queenstown and it was worth every dollar. A huge thanks to Luca and Kate who were very patient with our group and always making it fun.
The lines start off easy to get your confidence up and gradually get longer and faster. I never thought I would end up upside down facing backwards doing 70km/h through the trees but it was so much fun.
Views of the lake and mountains are fantastic too.

Easy to book, good prices options (2,4.6 ziplines), small groups and friendly professional staff. Each zip line stop gave time for a mini-talk about history and environment. Ziptrek is very green and environment conscious. Felt very safe even though we were beginners. Thoughts for first-timers (i) ZipTrek is not part of the Skyline business so there's no signage inside the Gondola building at the top (rather sad on Skyline's part) so DON'T carry on into the building but turn left through the glass doors to go outside as soon as you enter, then follow the signage to the left (or use your GPS); (ii) personal safety waiver must be signed online before arriving at the actual take-off point; (iii) read the instructions: hats, gloves, sturdy and warm footwear/clothing are important; (iv) the less luggage you have with you, the better (although there is a locked bin at the start for your hand/bag).

Kia ora HelenJG786,
Thank you for your excellent feedback, and for sharing a great photo of your experience with us!
We're so glad to hear that you had fun with us and that you felt safe throughout the tour at the hands of our professional tour guides. The eco-education aspect is integral to the Ziptrek experience, therefore it is always great to hear when the message has been well received by our guests. Your review was not only great for us to read, but it was also very informative and included helpful details to any guests reading as well, thank you for this! Sorry to hear it was a bit tricky to find us. Skyline are doing some upgrades at the moment so there may have been a detour in place making it harder to see the signs. If you head out of the doors of the main building and go left you should come across a sign which will point you in the right direction.
Thanks again for taking the time to leave us a review. If your back in town one day let us know, we'd love to have you out on tour again!

Went on the Kea Zip Line tour with my son and his girlfriend. 6 zip lines, accompanied by two guides who make sure you are safe. We were in a group of 11 people with each person taking turns to do each zip line and in total it took 3 hours. An enjoyable experience with great views, would recommend.
It’s worth noting that their is a 20 minute walk between line 5 and 6 which is quite steep downwards and sensible walking shoes are recommended.
Also Ziptech operates from the top of the mountain so unless you want a very long uphill walk you will need to purchase Gondola tickets to get up to the start point. The zip line finishes at the bottom.

Wanting to do the zip line and paraglide. Do I need to buy 2 gondola passes to do so please?
Written 30 October 2024
Hi,
We have booked a gondola and luge ride so do you think we could use the gondola ride to get up to you. Do the zipline then the luge? Would it work that way?
Alternatively do you know how much gondola tickets are?
Thanks,
Ali
Written 25 February 2020
The zip line is accessed from the top of the gondola station - it's a 1 min walk from there. Depending on which zip line package you get you either walk back up from midway down the slope or you end up at the bottom and catch the gondola back up. you may be better off doing the gondola / luge first - they have separate small chair lift for that and then do the zip line particularly if you plan to finish at the bottom of the slope.
