About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- revuall0 contributionsGreat part of NZ to visitRecently we crossed by ferry to Picton and then did a bus tour through the Marlborough Wine region before staying the night in Blenheim. The country side in April with the vines showing their autumn colours was spectacular and each of the 3 wineries we visited were very hospitable and informative with their products. We went to Hunter's Wines, Saint Clair (where we also a had great cheese tray to enjoy) and finished at the Forrest winery. Add to that we finished at the Makana chocolate factory and it was a memorable trip.Written 4 June 2024
- 841emilt0 contributionsGreat local knowledge took us to some wonderful vineyards.Pamela showed us around some great local vineyards which we had never been to before, as well as an amazing viewpoint other the whole region and a lovely local chocolate factory to finish the day. It was brilliant that we could all enjoy the wine tour without needing to worry about having a designated driver.Written 18 April 2024
- Kaja H0 contributionsLovely Marlborough regionHad a really nice day with Pamela visiting wineries and seeing the lovely Picton area. Would recommend this tour ( note, the van was a bit awkward to get in and out of though)Written 19 March 2024
- ritamZ3233FI0 contributionsAmazingOur chauffeur Pamela made our day. The experience was incredible. Pam went above & beyond to ensure we had a great day & everyone’s taste was accommodated. Would highly recommend this companyWritten 18 March 2024
- deannew2450 contributionsShore Excursion to Marlborough RegionThank you Pamela ( Your local chaffeur) for your expertise and friendliness. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the three wineries, cheese and chocolate tastings. We recommend Pamela when cruising into Picton.Written 16 March 2024
- jeffandvickir0 contributionsSated and contentPamela was the perfect host. She was attentive, informative but not intrusive. We were collected on time and taken to some wonderful vineyards with excellent food and wine offerings. We also experienced chocolate and champagne tastings. The tour was excellent value for money and we "rolled" out of the van when returned to our motel at 6:30pm, sated and content.Written 12 March 2024
- Treadbrook0 contributionsOur only big disappointment in a two week tripWe feel completely ripped off. While our tour guide was lovely and the 20-year-old van was very comfortable, sadly the tour simply didn't provide what was advertised. The guide blamed Covid and then blamed us, there was no apology or offer of compensation for the false advertising. We looked at lots of tours and this one - the most expensive - stood out with this advertising: "Stop for seasonal produce (December through February) of juicy strawberries, cherries, apricots and nectarines, along with local cheeses, oils, liqueurs, Manuka honey, peanut butter and black garlic. Make a special stop at the Makana Confections Boutique Chocolate Factory for some divine chocolate treats!" There was nothing of the sort provided. When I raised it and showed the guide their own website she looked troubled and tried to compensate by buying a block of cheese! At the end of the tour she did offer to take us to a chocolate place, but by then we were so disillusioned we asked to go back to our hotel. None of the other items were offered, which is really sad as the region seems to be rich in those areas. Basically the $295 per head tour gave us the same value as the $115 per head one we originally considered. I have complained to the booking company - getyourguide.com - and they are based in Germany and just keep passing it off with excuses. They say that the guide told them she offered us some of the additional items we expected, but I bluntly don't believe them that she said that - after all - we would have jumped at them, not turned them down! It looks like our only option will be to take the local operator to the Small Claims Tribunal and seek a refund of the difference between what we paid and the value we'd have received from the $115 tour. Sadly we didn't even get an apology, just insistence that it was our fault for expecting too much!! Beware the booking agent - getyourguide.com - they are simply awful to deal with. I think the local operator just needs to update their website and not set these expectations. Then they can compete on a level playing field with the other operators once they remove their false, or out of date, claims.Written 7 March 2024
- 623sueg0 contributionsA super dayWe had a super day with Ian as our chauffeur. Along the way we saw many names that we know from buying some at home. We visited six wineries and had very informative chats with the staff at each one. Lunch at the Fancy Cow was good, and we met up with Pamela and another group. A really great day, informative and fun. Thank you Ian and Pamela.Written 24 February 2024
- Marina B0 contributionsPamela is an excellent hostWe chose this specific tour because of the highly positive comments about Pamela and her skills in delivering an awesome tour and we were not disappointed.Written 21 February 2024
- edwardm1910 contributionsSmall Group Winery Tour- Awesome TourPamela was an amazing host- we saw 4 wineries, had a great lunch, enjoyed some chocolates. As an added bonus in between wineries, we stopped and tried the local gin. Pamela was full of information. The small group was perfect for visiting the wineries.Written 18 February 2024
- Patti F0 contributionsBest guide ever!Pamela was amazing! We had reserved the day months in advance and emailed with her about what we were looking for and she responded back and forth as we crafted our day based on our desires and her experience. She is knowledgeable, fun and very caring that you have the best experience possible with her. It was by far the best private trip we ever planned.Written 18 February 2024
- sandyeQ2495BF0 contributionsGreat way to enjoy Marlborough wines. Our day of wine tasting was Devine! Each winery gave us new and interesting varietals to savor. The wineries were each different and unique from each other. Our guide, Pamela was a delight and very informed. Would recommend to anyone who wants to immerse themselves in NZ’s great wine region.Written 12 February 2024
- aimeemO544NT0 contributionsGreat day visiting beautiful wineriesWe had an amazing day with Pamela seeing the sites of Marlborough. The wineries we went to were beautiful, and we got to customise our tour to visit Omaka and a Gin distillery. Highly recommend this tour to others.Written 12 February 2024
- Daximus0 contributionsAmazing day in MarlboroughWe had an amazing day with Pamela, who took us on a private tour to 3 amazing wineries and a lovely lunch at Allan Scott’s, followed by a visit to No. 1 “champagne” Daniel Le Bruns place and a gin tasting tray at the Gin tasting room. We even squeezed in an ice cream stop on the way home as it was so warm. Pamela was awesome and clearly very knowledgeable and experienced as she was welcomed warmly at the wineries. Our favourites were Nautillus and Forest where the tasting team were amazing. Thank you so much for a wonderful day.Written 28 January 2024
- aaronmS2880SC0 contributionsHigh Expectations Surpassed - Great Day with Pamela! My family of four spent the entire day with Pamela. It far surpassed our expectations and was definitely worth the extra money. Pamela picked us up on time at our AirBnB and we visited three wineries (Nautilus, Forrest, and Framingham), enjoying the most delicious charcuterie board at Forrest full of meats, fruits and cheeses. Then we had a delicious lunch at Withering Hills, another tasting that included delicious chocolates at No 1 and finished with a tasting and dessert at St Clair. In total, six wineries and 5 tastings. Pamela did an excellent job of blending the foodie experience with the wine tastings, something that would have been very difficult on your own. It was very clear that Pamela has built strong relationships with the wineries, we were treated “extra special” at each stop, never having to wait for seating. I can’t recommend this experience enough.Written 3 January 2024

This tour was OK, but we expected better. We visited just a couple of wineries and a kiwi plantation. That was the good part. The rest was some shopping which my wife and I could certainly do without. I suspect the store owners welcome the business from the operator (Pamela). The lunch was in an expensive place with average quality food. The van was full to capacity, so we were sitting rather tight. The trip narrative was fine when we could hear it from the back seat.

My husband and I were visiting for our first anniversary from Chicago (with friends from Texas) and booked this tour a month or so before our trip. We confirmed two days before and the owner (and guide), Pamela, sounded delightful on the phone. She asked a bit about what we wanted to see and eat and we were excited and delighted just after talking to her.
She was punctual with our pickup and took us to 5 wineries, a chocolate factory and a gift shop (our request), a cheese shop, a beer garden, lunch at a lovely winery, cheese at another winery, and even dinner at the end of the day. We loved Pamela so much that we asked her to dine with us at dinner too and she didn’t make us feel rushed even though we were out for 9 hours!
Pamela also told us personal stories about growing up in the area and also wanted to get to know us. All was done with a nice personal touch. A day we will never forget.
Safety was also a big concern for Pamela and she made sure to log every stop per regulations, made sure we drank water, and checked for seat belts after ever time we got in the car. I’ve never had a bette tour.
Highly recommended —- and I’ve been to over 60 countries.
Pamela also sent us off with a little gift of chocolate and a hug. She felt like a new friend!

We picked up this tour at the visitor's center at the dock in Picton. Best decision we made on this visit. Pamela was very informative and gave us a great day in the Marlborough area. The wineries were great. The lunch stop had great food and wine. The candy stop was fabulous.

Arriving on April 13 on the Noordam. Is the tour (for 2) available on that date and will the tour end in plenty of time before ships departure?
