Great local knowledge took us to some wonderful vineyards.
Pamela showed us around some great local vineyards which we had never been to before, as well as an amazing viewpoint other the whole region and a lovely local chocolate factory to finish the day. It was brilliant that we could all enjoy the wine tour without needing to worry about having a designated driver.

        Shore Excursion to Marlborough Region
Thank you Pamela ( Your local chaffeur) for your expertise and friendliness. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the three wineries, cheese and chocolate tastings. We recommend Pamela when cruising into Picton.

        Sated and content
Pamela was the perfect host. She was attentive, informative but not intrusive. We were collected on time and taken to some wonderful vineyards with excellent food and wine offerings. We also experienced chocolate and champagne tastings. The tour was excellent value for money and we "rolled" out of the van when returned to our motel at 6:30pm, sated and content.

Our only big disappointment in a two week trip
We feel completely ripped off. While our tour guide was lovely and the 20-year-old van was very comfortable, sadly the tour simply didn't provide what was advertised. The guide blamed Covid and then blamed us, there was no apology or offer of compensation for the false advertising. We looked at lots of tours and this one - the most expensive - stood out with this advertising: "Stop for seasonal produce (December through February) of juicy strawberries, cherries, apricots and nectarines, along with local cheeses, oils, liqueurs, Manuka honey, peanut butter and black garlic. Make a special stop at the Makana Confections Boutique Chocolate Factory for some divine chocolate treats!" There was nothing of the sort provided. When I raised it and showed the guide their own website she looked troubled and tried to compensate by buying a block of cheese! At the end of the tour she did offer to take us to a chocolate place, but by then we were so disillusioned we asked to go back to our hotel. None of the other items were offered, which is really sad as the region seems to be rich in those areas. Basically the $295 per head tour gave us the same value as the $115 per head one we originally considered. I have complained to the booking company - getyourguide.com - and they are based in Germany and just keep passing it off with excuses. They say that the guide told them she offered us some of the additional items we expected, but I bluntly don't believe them that she said that - after all - we would have jumped at them, not turned them down! It looks like our only option will be to take the local operator to the Small Claims Tribunal and seek a refund of the difference between what we paid and the value we'd have received from the $115 tour. Sadly we didn't even get an apology, just insistence that it was our fault for expecting too much!! Beware the booking agent - getyourguide.com - they are simply awful to deal with. I think the local operator just needs to update their website and not set these expectations. Then they can compete on a level playing field with the other operators once they remove their false, or out of date, claims.

        A super day
We had a super day with Ian as our chauffeur. Along the way we saw many names that we know from buying some at home. We visited six wineries and had very informative chats with the staff at each one. Lunch at the Fancy Cow was good, and we met up with Pamela and another group. A really great day, informative and fun. Thank you Ian and Pamela.

        Best guide ever!
Pamela was amazing! We had reserved the day months in advance and emailed with her about what we were looking for and she responded back and forth as we crafted our day based on our desires and her experience. She is knowledgeable, fun and very caring that you have the best experience possible with her. It was by far the best private trip we ever planned.

Great way to enjoy Marlborough wines.
Our day of wine tasting was Devine! Each winery gave us new and interesting varietals to savor. The wineries were each different and unique from each other. Our guide, Pamela was a delight and very informed. Would recommend to anyone who wants to immerse themselves in NZ’s great wine region.

        Amazing day in Marlborough
We had an amazing day with Pamela, who took us on a private tour to 3 amazing wineries and a lovely lunch at Allan Scott’s, followed by a visit to No. 1 “champagne” Daniel Le Bruns place and a gin tasting tray at the Gin tasting room. We even squeezed in an ice cream stop on the way home as it was so warm. Pamela was awesome and clearly very knowledgeable and experienced as she was welcomed warmly at the wineries. Our favourites were Nautillus and Forest where the tasting team were amazing. Thank you so much for a wonderful day.

High Expectations Surpassed - Great Day with Pamela!
My family of four spent the entire day with Pamela. It far surpassed our expectations and was definitely worth the extra money. Pamela picked us up on time at our AirBnB and we visited three wineries (Nautilus, Forrest, and Framingham), enjoying the most delicious charcuterie board at Forrest full of meats, fruits and cheeses. Then we had a delicious lunch at Withering Hills, another tasting that included delicious chocolates at No 1 and finished with a tasting and dessert at St Clair. In total, six wineries and 5 tastings. Pamela did an excellent job of blending the foodie experience with the wine tastings, something that would have been very difficult on your own. It was very clear that Pamela has built strong relationships with the wineries, we were treated “extra special” at each stop, never having to wait for seating. I can’t recommend this experience enough.

        Delicious wine, excellent guide.
This tour was a lovely experience. We ended up being the only people on the tour, which meant Pamela could tailor it to our requests. Every stop was a treat with interesting wines and appropriate accompaniments, including a cheese and venison sausage tray and a chance to order from the menu for lunch. The final stop for ice cream with caramel whiskey pour over was really special.

Wonderful wine tour with a friendly guide
We took this tour with Pamela as our guide yesterday and we enjoyed every bit of it. They brought us to beautiful and different wineries and to an excellent restaurant for lunch that was also affordable. The group was only eight people which was a perfect number. Pamela was very friendly, caring and she was keeping us entertained along the way. We’d highly recommend to anyone in the area.

We had a wonderful time. Our guide Pamela was accommodating and very knowledgeable. She came up with a great itinerary, but allowed us to add in a few things. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Recently we crossed by ferry to Picton and then did a bus tour through the Marlborough Wine region before staying the night in Blenheim. The country side in April with the vines showing their autumn colours was spectacular and each of the 3 wineries we visited were very hospitable and informative with their products.
We went to Hunter's Wines, Saint Clair (where we also a had great cheese tray to enjoy) and finished at the Forrest winery.
Add to that we finished at the Makana chocolate factory and it was a memorable trip.

Terrible! Paid in excess of $300 for a five hr tour. Value for money is a zero. Tour was a visit to three wineries. One of which was interested. No food offered. Had to buy own lunch at the end of tour. Area covered in the cramped mini bus was not far at all. Bus doesn’t run on rocket fuel. Terribly uncomfortable for elderly people with mobility issues.

We had a lovely day with Pamela, visiting four wineries and enjoying a super lunch. Pamela is a local and was very knowledgeable about her home town. She was happy to be flexible with our tour and the door to door service was much appreciated as we didn’t have a car. We thoroughly recommend this tour if you are looking for an informative and relaxing day out with a friendly local.

Very disappointed for the $. One out of three wineries worth the visit. One not even expecting us (Spyglass). Crammed into a very small bus. No food til 2.00pm (at our own expense).

Very embarrassing for me having booked this tour for our group on the rave reviews. Could have had a much better (and cheaper) experience on the Hoo on Hop Off bus.

We won the weather lottery on our recent visit via ship to Picton. We had booked this small group tour as a way to get away from the ships crowds and were lucky with our selection of this provider, plus the other passengers all being very pleasant to spend the day with. Pamela went out of her way to accommodate my request to see a particular vineyard which one of the other drivers was going to, so Pamela took us to that vineyard as well. we had a delicious lunch at one hilltop vineyard, and lovely seated wine tastings at several others. Very nice day and good driver! We felt safe and well taken care of. communication was good with a follow up email during the trip to confirm pick up etc. For cruise ship passengers, the ports in New Zealand almost all have buses that bus you out of the port and your operator knows this along with the local customs etc. so know that they will give you very clear instructions on how and where to meet you. I'd say that booking with an independent operator is foolproof, but there are always some folks that make it not so, but don't hesitate to go out on your own and find lovely, local folks to take you around in a small bus or van. it is so much nicer than via a big tour bus.

Your comments are really nice thank you. I am so pleased you had a great day. I do agree that the personal small group tours are the best. You receive all the attention and see more I believe. It is always our pleasure to share as much as possible on the cruise day. I myself always custom the day where possible and lucky we could get your Nautilus in as well. Come and see us again soon. My first experience with Your Local Chauffeur was through my personal email exchanges with Pamela. She is so lovely that my only disappointment with the tour was that she wasn't my tour guide. The tour itself was very good. We visited several wineries and got to taste so much wine that it's a good thing I didn't have to drive anywhere afterwards!

We had a great time visiting 3 or 4 wineries and partaking in tastings, maybe that's why I can't recall how many we visited. Our guide, Pamela, was a lot of fun. We also went to a chocolate factory, Makana, and sampled sweets. Very enjoyable day.

“Well yet another cruise tour over and here I am finally writing my review Pamela. I am slack I know – January was a long way back now.. It was great to meet you and I am sure I will come up to Marlborough on self drive next time and do it again. Love the wine! Love the food! Your repartee with us all too was terrific and with my special custom requests – how you managed I am in wonder. Thanks more than you could know. Keep up the good work and have a great new season ahead.”

Sorry for late review! Our day was made perfect by the great weather when we arrived into Picton. We were excited to try the wine and it did not disappoint. Going home with new favourites. What a busy day, Pamela our tour operator was amazing handling several vehicles and groups prior to departing and she made sure we were all comfortable and found out our special requests and I thought that was very nice. Usually on tours you have to go where they tell you. Fabulous, friendly service. I highly recommend this tour company. A big thank you again Pamela and your team!
