Special sights , an enjoyable day, full of amazing colors: starting with Ladi Knox Geyser, than astonising colors of the geothermal area in waiotapu ( along with the distinctive smell :-) ), Huka falls and lake Taupo. Our guide- Sandra- was very proffessional, made the tour enlightening and fun, paid attention and accordingly adjusted the tour to our specific group needs, and made the day most enjoyable.

Perfect experience to Rotorua and Waitomo
The trip to Waitapu and Waitomo is so great and definitely worth the price. Hermes and Edson help us with everything. Hermes shows us every beautiful scenery while on our way. Something interesting about diary cows and sheep and the nature. Edson takes us to the Waitomo trip and drive us back to Auckland. Waitomo is something you never want to miss. We also visit a dam somewhere in the nearby town, which is so beautiful! Recommend!

          Perfect experience to explore Rotorua
The Rotorua Escape tour is fantastic! Happy to meet Petez and have him with us. We have learnt so many things about New Zealand during the trip, and he pointed us to every small spot that has good scenery or interesting things to know. Te Puia looks great and the buffet is good. There are breaks between each item, which is perfect. Do recommend!

10/10 experience for LOTR Nerds and Nerd Nerds
Amazing! We lucked out in that we were the only people on our tour, so we had such an enjoyable personal experience with our FlexiToursNZ guides (Edson and Jenny). Both were so knowledgeable, friendly, and lovely. We also lucked out with the tour guides we had at Hobbiton and Waitomo Caves, as they made the tours so enjoyable. Overall great experience, would recommend.

Highly recommended this tour and this agency
FlexitoursNZ gave us the best service concerning our trip/tour to Rotorua. Everything worked ok and beyond the expectations. They accomplished and arranged all our requirements, so we had the best experience in this trip from Aukland to Rotorua for 2 days. If you have any doubt or inquiries, they answer the telephone and e-mails immediately. The drivers/guides, all of them, were amazing, and they drive very carefully. We visited 5 attractions, all of them wonderfull. This is really an excellent agency, and we recommend to everybody that come to NZ to get its tours.

Enjoy the wonders of both Hobbiton & Waitomo Glowworm Caves whilst transferring between Auckland & Rotorua.
This small group tour is an informative, convenient and cost effective way to experience the wonders of both Hobbiton and Waitomo Glow Worm Caves whilst being provided a transfer between Auckland and Rotorua or vice versa. I found our guides, Pete and Herms to be knowledgeable, friendly & engaging and, although a long day, a very enjoyable one! Highly recommend.

The efficient way to visit 2 places on the move.
If you plan to move from Auckland to Rotorua or vice versa and want something to see, this trip is for you! You can also bring your suitcase with you. and 2 drivers were so helpful. I highly recommend it!!!

Going to New Zealand? Call Phillipa at Flexitours
I booked several custom tours with Flexitours for myself and husband. We wanted to see a lot of the attractions are a slower pace. Philipa was absolutely amazing. She arranged each of our days specifically for us! Phillipa was very informative and offered great advice on where and when to see attractions. Phillipa was very quick to respond via WhatsApp. It felt like I had a private tour again. Throughout our time in New Zealand, we had 6 tours either directly with Flexitours or booked for us by Phillipa. Andy was our personal driver for 2 of the days. He was fantastic! He was knowledgeable and a great guide. So glad he was our driver twice! The other tours were well orchestrated. Phillipa was very accommodating (and flexible 🤣) when we wanted to change our itinerary slightly. Our trip to New Zealand was exceptional!! Phillipa was instrumental in making our trip so wonderful. So glad she took care of all the tours!!

          Exceptional Customer Service
We were let down by another company at short notice and called in FlexiToursNZ office to see if they could help. Although it was unlikely we could secure the tour we wanted at such short notice I am writing this review because of the exceptional customer service. Mata, the manager was so helpful and professional. I wish we had used their service rather than the other company. Thank you for your time

FlexiToursNZ... I'll be seeing you guys again!
We had Peter as a driver. He was crucial to our experiences being so positive. I wish him the very best for the future and his endeavours. FlexiToursNZ came to the rescue when I contacted them at the last minute. The group size was perfect. We met a family from Jacksonville, Florida, and two women from Singapore. We spoke, developed respect and shared moments during the trip. Our specific tour at Hobbiton was enjoyable, outside of the young lady who kept heckling my son to stay with our tour group and not wander everywhere at Hobbiton (but she didn't work for FlexiTours). Big T made looking at caves (Waitomo) a beautiful experience, especially with his singing. I hope one day, our friends from the tour group will read this review and smile, looking back at our brief encounter, moments of happiness from a short time in life passing through a small town reminiscent of a big movie (which we never watched).

Our tour guide, Rebecca, was more of a driver than a tour guide. The audio on the van was too low and she only shared some facts about Rotorua and then silent, not a single word was spoken by her the rest of the day.

The tour is full of death time since the first stop, where our tour guide gave us a 45 minute break, way too long. Then after we arrived to the Maori Centre we had to wait 35 minutes for our tour guide to give us our Maori concert’s bracelet. In the meantime we got to know the souvenir shop on detail and the toilets twice, so fun!!

When the concert finished, the buffet started, an 1 hour and a half buffet with not to many options tbh. After the buffet, we waited 15-20 minutes to get our geyser’s bracelet and the tour started. The tour needs a restructure as we started at the kiwi conservation centre, then went to the geysers and then back to where the buffet is to se the Maori arts and crafts institute. Because of the tour structure we didn’t manage to see the fourth biggest geyser of the world in action. It should be, Maori arts and crafts which is right next to where we were, then the kiwi and then the geysers until you see all the geysers in action.

The tour is too expensive for the content, easily getting rid of all the death time, another activity could be included, even going to Huka Falls or something or another activity in Rotorua. The experience was nice and the people that booked the tour the same day I did were great and that’s what I take from it but talking about the tour company, it needs to make a change.

Hi - I am not sure why you were so unhappy as we have hundreds of reviews over how fabulous both the lunch and Rebecca are. It is always hard to balance the needs of the clients - some who want constant commentary and those who prefer to just have interesting highlights spoken about . The geyser you were talking about is directly in view from the restaurant you complained about being in too long and normally erupts about 2 to 3 times an hour but it is nature and we and Te Puia do not have the ability to make it go on demand I am sorry you were not happy but our experience is that people report seeing and doing more on a tour than they achieve in a rental car

My sister and I loved this trip! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and was very on point with timing and getting us everywhere! We opted for the concert to learn about the Maori culture and it was money well spent. The whole trip was a great learning experience and absolutely beautiful. If you're looking for a full day with both culture and the beauty of nature, I can't recommend this trip enough! It's a bit of a drive but the van was very comfortable and our guide kept us informed :)

We had an absolutely wonderful time on our trip to Rotorua. While the travel time was long, our guide, Louise, kept us thoroughly entertained with her expertise on local landmarks, Māori history and mythology, and current events in New Zealand. We couldn’t believe 3 hours had gone by when we arrived!

Once we arrived in Rotorua, Louise realized that our first planned activity to view the lake would not be best, as the lake was covered entirely in fog at the time. So instead, she changed our guided tour at Te Puia to an earlier time, allowing us the ability to view the lake later in the afternoon. We appreciated her quick thinking and flexibility to allow us the best possible experience! Of course, Te Puia itself was awesome, and we enjoyed the Māori cultural performance as our add-on activity.

We would highly recommend visiting Te Puia with FlexiTours NZ!

This tour was an absolutely wonderful experience! I appreciated the slower pace of getting to explore different areas of Rotorua (geothermal spots, stunning lake overlooks, redwood forest) in the morning. The buffet lunch was really lovely with nice food that I don't think you could get except in the nicest restaurants. The afternoon activities were by far my favorite, with the Māori cultural show and the grounds tour. The cultural show included beautiful singing and dancing with brief explanations of the meanings of the various elements, which made it so memorable. And the grounds tour was also great. We saw hot mud springs, exploding geysers and Kiwi birds. One of my favorite elements was seeing the school and watching the students and tutors carve wood/stone and weave baskets. The cultural elements made for an experience that you literally could not get anywhere but in New Zealand. And I must end by sharing how incredible our tour guide Pete was! He was very lovely to talk to and answered all of our questions, definitely not relying on a script. It was so meaningful to have a guide of Māori descent to give us further insight into this beautiful country. He even told us a beautiful Māori legend on the drive home, and I truly feel so lucky and privileged that he shared it with us. This tour was one I will not forget, and I would highly recommend it!

I booked this tour thinking it would be a little long. In reality, the early morning 6:25 am start is well worth it to get the most of the day in Rotorua. Our guide Chris was friendly, entertaining and ensured we were informed and in the right place at all times. Chris really made the experience one to remember! The Maori Cultural Centre is worth the visit alone. The guides grew up locally and are both kind and knowledgable. The centre's workshop and arts centre is fascinating and the resulting art works breath-taking. The concert was not a tourist trap, but a lovely cultural sharing with brilliant voices.
We were not rushed at all and you felt like a valued visitor. The buffet lunch was super.
We also got a chance to see a live Kiwi bird which was so cute. Great to see this important conservation work.
The main event - the geysers were out of this world. The colours, the spectacular heights they reach and the strange sulphurous patterns made by the waterfalls. Sit on the hot rocks (carefully to avoid any escaping steam!) and enjoy the view.
We chatted with our fellow day trippers and were dropped off at our hotel with a dinner recommendation. I couldn't recommend it more highly.

The stops were great. We had the best cup of coffee along the way in MataMata as recommended by our driver.
The bad: The flexitour van did not have usb cell phone charges at the seats (or anywhere) as did the other companies. My wife and I are 6’ and couldn’t fit in any seats except the very back which were already taken. We could hardly walk by the time we arrived at destinations. We couldn’t here the driver on the sound system when we asked him to turn it up he said he can’t he was afraid of terrible feedback on the microphone.
We rode a similar van with a different company and the seats were so much better, softer and large enough for an adult. Every seat had a usb for keeping your cell phones charged. It’s very disappointing to have a nearly dead battery when you arrive at a site and want to take photos.
Our driver was kind and courteous and knowledgeable about New Zealand. He had no control over the issues with the van. I recommend the coffee stop along the way. It was the best.

I can only assume you are confused about the van you were in or the company you were travelling with as ALL our vans have one less row of seats than factory standard, creating about 6 - 8 inches extra leg room between rows and top of the line leather seating - There are hundreds of reviews to this effect about the comfort and space in our vehicles. WE also have professionally fitted sound systems in all our vehicles If the criticism was about service or things that could be wrong then I would not be as dismissive as I am on this review

Andy was our tour guide for the day but he felt more like a driver because when we arrived at Te Puia we joined a group which was guided by a local resident and we spent quite a lengthy time with him.
Despite this Andy was knowledgeable and talkative throughout the long journey to Rotorua.

It was amazing to see the Geothermal activities and to learn a bit about the Māori culture.
Although it was a long drive the spacious minivan made it a comfortable journey but because of the long drive, we felt like there wasn’t enough time to explore more of the Geothermal grounds and to possibly see more Māori historical buildings etc.
The local guide said that we had 3 hours left to roam the area but we had no time as we had to attend the lunch buffet before it closed and make our way back to central Auckland, which we arrived in the evening.

I suggest to book a overnight accommodation in Rotorua beforehand to make most of this amazing trip.

The day was fine. I think for the money I paid there should have been more activities included in the itinerary. We were taken to Whakarawarewa only. While the tour in there was good and informative, there was nothing planned after lunch. An Impromptu visit to Goverment Gardens was offerd to us in the afternoon.
I must say the lunch was very good and had many selections.

This tour is offered with options - but you did not select any. Every option costs us money and as we restrict all our tours to a maximum of 12 passengers our tours are more expensive than some other companies who crowd you into the same size vehicles, but with more seats. We aim to provide the business class experience, where people are not squashed together, have their own individual seat, more legroom etc. and are comfortable. You will see multiple reviews commenting on the comfort of our vehicles, so important on a long journey. I have hunted through multiple reviews on competitors sites and cannot find same comment with regards to comfort. There are cheaper companies - but to get the lower price you need to book a company that carries larger groups. Most people choose us, because we promise extra space and extra room and a more comfortable journey. As we carry less people, we have to charge slightly more per person to make the tours financially viable. Our description states you will have some free time if you do not select an additional option.

        Our driver/guide Edson was great!
Te Puia was amazing scenery- the geyser was fantastic and the surrounding area of steam escapes were amazing. I am told this geyser area dwarfs Yellowstone. The tour of the Māori cultural center was very informative- getting to see the craftsmen carving the stones and weaving the traditional garments and baskets. The young woman who conducted the tour was very professional and knowledgeable. The quality of the buffet lunch was unexpected. It featured a wide variety of protein and vegetable dishes that were well prepared.
This was a great tour and we would take it again for sure.

The tour was run by Flexi Tours NZ . I do not recommend this company at all ! The place and the actual tour itself was ok , and could have been really good if it had been run by a decent company. There was no communication. This was an expensive tour and we were guaranteed hotel pick up and return . We were picked up in a black sedan by a woman who gave no information, nor did she even speak , and she dropped us off at another hotel where we boarded a van . The driver spoke very little , was a bit rude and impatient and when we were returned to the hotel for the ride back to our hotel , she was not there . After going to that hotel’s reception desk and asking them to call Flexi Tours , we were told they were closed . We ended up having to take an Uber at our expense to our hotel . When I had asked the driver , Rebecca , how we would get to our hotel as she had dropped us off , she curtly had told us to find the woman that had picked us up in the morning . In addition, the “ options “ were not explained at booking and were all more money .
This company was very unorganized and I would highly recommend that people avoid it and find another tour for Rotorua. Rotorua itself is worth the trip but it is a long day and a long way. So go with someone who will inform you and tell you what all you will be doing.

I am really sorry that you did not get looked after the way you should be - I had a call from your shuttle driver asking where you were as she was waiting - I am really not sure why Rebecca who is normally universally loved did not communicate on this day. Thank you for the feed back - Historic good reports do not mean a thing - You are only as good as the last tour you ran and I will be watching make sure that this was a an anomaly and not deteriorating service situation. There are hundreds of great reviews about us and I will be striving to make sure that these standards continue to be met
