Tripadvisor gives a Travellers’ Choice award to accommodations, attractions and restaurants that consistently earn great reviews from travellers and are ranked within the top 10% of properties on Tripadvisor.
Our tours are for the Adventure seeking travelers, we are West Adventure Tours, not West comfortable, predictable luxury tours. You can expect wild camping in swags under the stars with no bathroom facilities most nights, however we do carry a portable toilet. We believe this does give you the experience of a lifetime in the Australian wilderness. As much as possible, we do camp in private locations for just our passengers to enjoy sitting around the campfire at the end of each night getting to know each other with nobody else around.

          A very disappointing vacation
I went with a friend to see Mt. Rushmore and our travel agent used Southwest Adventure Tours. We were met by Greg S and he was our guide. What a disappointment! My friend is hard of hearing and she asked him to please use the microphone - he completely ignored her request even though she asked more than once. This "guide" was also verbally abusive to me after I wanted to discuss with him a nasty text he sent me when I was 19 minutes late from a hike. He told me he should have left us there and then proceeded to yell at me. Both my friend and I spoke to his boss and to our travel agent because we wanted a different guide, but unfortunately apparently there was noone else available. Greg never apologized for his behavior. I have never experienced such appalling behavior from a supposedly professional guide. In addition he did not tell us in any detail about the history of the region. I caution everyone not to use this company. Since our return from this vacation I have not heard from them - They do not seem to care one iota about this awful experience that ruined our vacation.

Amazing travel experience: wonderful beaches, dives and hikes!!!
My parents (62 and 59) and I (pregnant, 33) enjoyed this wondeful 7-day-Camping-Tour with our wonderful guide Alan and a group of nine beautiful travel mates very much!!!! We saw wonderful beaches, slept under the stars in our swags, enjoyed the excellent food by the campfire, experienced the beautiful wildlife, went diving at the ningaloo reef with Manta rays, turtles, reef sharks and fish in every form and colour and went hiking to discover interesting scenic and historic sites!!! It was just magical - we will always remember that wonderful journey! Thank you, Alan and the gorgeous group! <3

Brilliant Company, Amazing Adventure - What are you waiting for!?
From the super friendly welcome in Perth to the final sad goodbye at the end this is an adventure you will never forget. Alan is an amazing tour guide - knowledgeable but never boring & he makes every person on the tour feel like a life long friend. He has a natural ability to connect with people of all ages & he was definitely one of the highlights of the tour. My travel companions were wonderful & we had many great laughs & interesting conversations around the campfire. I woke up to the most spectacular sunrises & enjoyed a nice cold beer watching beautiful sunsets. The hikes were at times really challenging but well worth the effort (the Kalbarri Gorges are stunning!) As a beginner to snorkelling I was a bit hesitant but it was brilliant & they make it so easy to do!! Everyone can do it & definitely should! The Swimming with Manta Rays was an experience I will always remember & the crew from Coral Bay Eco Tours were fantastic. The food - OMG the food was delicious! Alan is a master at creating feasts in a camp kitchen (and we were extra lucky to have the gorgeous Lucia who helped produce some of the tastiest meals I have ever eaten!) I loved our "thousand star" restaurant! :-) I've lived in Australia all my life & I have never experienced it like this before. I can't recommend this enough to anyone who wants to get out there & see our beautiful country. West Adventure Tours - you guys are amazing!Your customer service is the best I've ever experienced - even before I jumped on the bus, I had a zillion questions & Tim answered all of them for me & was just lovely to talk to. The tour guide Alan was bombarded with questions from morning til night and answered them all with grace, humour and intelligence. He's a bloody legend! :-) Your tours are brilliant value for money and I can't wait to try another tour with this wonderful company.

          My first camping experience
Before the tour, I thought this tour was about...... ✓Outback experience, pink lake, opportunities to take IG pictures, etc. After the tour, I can tell you what is more than that: ✓In-depth cultural experience. Sitting around the campfire, meeting Hazel and her husband, the aboriginal people. They are very friendly and willing to share their knowledge with us. ✓ In my opinion, camping is the best way to explore WA because through wilderness camping, you would have the real experience of eating toasties with flies, sleeping under the stary sky, spotting the shooting stars, cooking with your group, etc. You might miss these experiences if you stay in the accommodation. ✓ Besides, things that impressed me the most are kangaroo spotting, snokeling with mantas and beautiful carols, watching sun raise and sunset at the beaches, laughters in the 4WD car, great music during the road trips. ✓ Don't forget to mention about Alan, our tour guide. Alan is a humble, considerate and caring person. He did all the things for our good. Rmb one day we decided to start our day at 3.30am so that we can swim at the beach before the strong wind came. If you would have a chance to go camping with him, I am sure you will enjoy the tour with him.

          Best travel experience ever !!!!!
If you are thirsty for fun, adventure, discovery and nature this trip is just what you need ! It’s a great way to meet new people and maybe even stay in contact after. Me and my co-travelers are now friends and traveling together. But we were also felt so safe and free during the trip. The reconnection with nature, sleeping under the stars, snorkeling, seeing the wild life was absolutely amazing! It’s a great way to see a great part of WA at an affordable price. The pinnacles, pink lake, Kalbarri, Shark bay, coral bay, the reef, camping in complete nature and on the beach and so much more that I can’t even remember it was my best travel experience ever !!! I have to leave a special word for Alan our tour guide who gave us the real Aussie experience. There is no one more Aussie than him ☺️ He was amazing, organizing everything, cooking, driving, taking care of us, making sure we were fine all the time ... he has the kindest heart on earth and we all loved him ... the only sad part was that it was over after 7 days ... So if you want to live a life changing experience go for it !

          Fabulous trip
This was a superb trip. It was guided by Alan and Rowan, both of whom were great. The bush camp sites were super, especially the shell beach. A really wonderful experience.

Lost in the nature of Western Australia <3
I made the 7 day trip from Perth to Exmouth and return this January and I can highly recommend it if you want to discover the nature of Western Australia & learn a lot about animals, plants, nature and culture of this region and a lot more. It’s a lot of driving as the distances are huge, but it’s definitely worth it, as the landscape and the experiences are great and very diversified: snorkeling in coral reefs, walking in the Bush, at beautiful Beaches, in Gorges, in national parks and sleeping in swags under the stars. Sunsets, cold beers, good food, campfires and the list is long. We also had the occasion to meet with Hazel, an aboriginal woman, during a discussion round around a campfire and that was very very interesting. Last but not least, our Guide Alan was great. He always paid attention to everybody in the group, he had a lot of insider stories to tell and could manage every situation during the tour, so that we always felt good. Thanks again!

          Perth to Exmouth and return
Trip was very successful, enjoyed 6 nights camping under the stars, either on stations or on the beach. Tour guide made every effort to accommodate both meateaters and vegoes and the food was good. Coral Bay in particular was excellent, with great snorkelling also in Exmouth. Understand that longer hike earlier in the trip wasn’t possible due to the heat , but felt we could’ve hiked for longer on the final day on the return to Perth. Came away with a really good feel for WA and would definitely book with this operator again

          Bushcamping
It was a really nice tripp! We experienced the bushcamping, sleeping in a bag in the middel of nowhere under the Stars, just beautiful. We saw so many beautiful things, thanks our tour guide Alan. The highlight was the snorcle in coral bay, with the mantas, turtle and sharks. The food was amazing and the bus confortable. I can recommend this trip to everyone who is ready for an advanture.

          Sleeping under the stars💫
Thanks to all of the nice people and Alan who made this tour unforgettable! My highlights were: swimming with mantas, sleeping under the stars and the amazing cooking of our tour guide Alan! This trip was in so many ways beautiful and Alan tries to make this experience as beautiful as possible. The tour bus bumble bee is so comfortable and the small size of the groups makes it easier to connect with people. At the end of the trip we were all like a small family! I can recommend this trip to everyone who is ready for an adventure.

          So much fun!
This tour is a great way to see the amazing places between Perth and the Ningaloo Reef... and many of the animals that live there!! Al is an excellent tour guide... funny, informative and very capable of managing a disparate group of interests and needs. His food is amazing, he’s super organised and an excellent communicator... we felt really safe and very well informed at all times. The tour itself is tricky as the distances covered are huge in the timeframe but Al made it all as fun and interesting as possible. His tour recommendation for Coral Bay was fantastic and having the chance to have a talking circle with Hazel, one of the native titleholders, was amazing. Such great damper thank you Hazel!!!! We saw so much wildlife both at sea and on land, and slept under the stars in fabulously comfortable swags. The truck is well organised and maintained and the participation required around meals etc gives the group a good chance to get to know each other and learn about other cultures. It’s hard to find a holiday teenagers enjoy but this one is a standout. Thanks Al... you are the best!!!!

Perth to Exmouth - 7 day camping trip
I would highly recommend doing this trip for those that are looking to get "off the beaten path" compared to the other excursion companies. The 4x4 vehicle allowed us to camp right on the beach all by ourselves. I loved cooking our nightly meals and the food was very high quality. It was clear that our guide, Alan, knew his stuff and Western Australia like the back of his hand. He did a great job of telling us about the area and history, but not overbearing us with information. I would highly recommend this trip and I hope to do the Broome trip with my trust tour guide Alan.

Highlight of my entire trip to Australia!
Last week I did the return tour from Perth to Exmouth and it was nothing short of amazing. From the second I climbed into the 4x4 to the moment I left, the trip was full of laughs, adventures, stunning sights and insider info thanks to our tour guide, the wonderful Alan. The huge distances covered were well broken up with walks, photo opportunities and the occasional termite mound viewing, and we always got to the camp with plenty of time to chase the sunsets with icy beers in hand. Waking up to the sound of waves crashing (and the odd pan crashing..thanks Alan), and having a cuppa whilst watching the sun rise was one of the best experiences from my time in Australia. The tour was wellll worth the money, with all meals being provided (delicious ones at that), everything ran very smoothly and I felt I saw everything I could've hoped to see up the west coast. Thanks to the small group size we were even able to do spontaneous activities such as riding huge harvesters and partying at a farm in the middle of nowhere! Snorkelling at Coral Bay was stunning and news has it it's better than the Great Barrier Reef. Truly fab experience, don't miss out and BRING FLY NETS.

Awesome Perth to Exmouth and return Camping Adventure!
Together with Alan our local tour guide we did the Camping Tour form Perth to Exmouth and return. We had a great time and it was an awesome experience. As being a very small group, it felt like a road trip with friends rather than a booked tour. Nevertheless Alan did a more than great job, was very experienced, provided us with lots of background information and created a very relaxed atmosphere. The food, especially the dinner, was delicious and diversified and also with very good vegetarian options. Expect from howling Dingos at one night ;) we had a pretty good sleep under the beautiful stars and it was just marvellous to wake up with the sunrise. The places we stayed for the night were a mix of private farm grounds, campgrounds and beach camps and it was great to have them mostly just for us alone. All in all it was a beautifully rounded camping/road trip tour with many small highlights and the right mix of relax and adventure. Thank you Alan and the team we had a great time away from the crowds :) !!!

Great experience down the beautiful West Coast
This trip exceeded my expectations. It was all well planned out and organized with great places to stop, lots of beautiful locations and swimming opportunities and the guide, Sean, was a really chill and fun guide, not to mention a great cook! The food on this trip was delicious and varied- much better than on previous tours with other companies. Overall the trip was super fun and felt like hanging out with a group of friends even though I only knew one person when I signed up. It can be a bit tough to camp for so many nights in a row, but I usually got pretty good sleep in the swag and appreciated that we got some chances to shower in the middle of it! And it is pretty nice to fall asleep and wake up with a view of the stars or sunrise :) Great adventure tour and positive experiences speaking to their friendly staff over the phone and email whenever I had any questions. Thank you West Adventure Tours and Sean!

If you want to discover the West Coast from Perth to Broome, this tour is made for you. Tom and Lucy, the two guides I traveled with were absolutely amazing. They are very passionate by their job and that was the cherry on top. It is very pleasant to travel with guides who love their job, who always have a fact about the place you travel to. The itinerary is set up but it is also flexible which is a good thing.

WA was a long time project and I am definitely glad I have done it. The West Coast is such a beautiful part of Australia. I traveled with a group who was like a family at the end of the trip.

This experience was what I expected. People were very fun and Tom and Lucy were lovely. In addition of being an excellent cookers, they are very easy going and fun. Always make sure everyone is having a good time.

This adventure (the itinerary) has definitely been a success, from the inland gorges, the turquoise water and the National Park. It is definitely what I expected.
Being with like minded people and the two best guides, Tom and Lucy made my experience even better

I highly recommend this tour if you want to discover the West Coast and have an experience of a lifetime.

My trip (9 days Perth to Broome) was a relentless ride of magically experiences.

A massive part of that was down to the unorthodox but engaging style of our tour leader Beno. He ensured that each day was tailored to the group's needs and utilised his extensive local knowledge to add in some surprising extras.

The food was fantastic throughout and was a true masterclass in bush cooking. I'd happily have paid to eat some of the meals in a restaurant.

This trip enjoys a bewildering variety of activities and scenery, from coral reef swimming, hiking through Kalbarr and stargazing in Karijini.

It may be a challenge for some with the lack of daily showers, long bus rides and swag camping. But if you approach it with a sense of adventure then you will truly be able to get off the beaten track and experience the wildness of the west coast.

This was a first experience swag camping and whilst intimidating at first I truly felt sad at leaving my swag behind at the end. It's hard for a hostel bunk to compete with sleeping under the stars.

If possible try and swim with whale sharks in either Coral bay or Exmouth. Its got a hefty price tag but in my opinion it's completely worth it.

This tour may not be for everyone but for me it was truly unforgettable and I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

I loved every minute of this trip. This is an authentic Aussie experience, ideal for both Aussies and internationals. The small group makes it more personal, the activities, scenery and wildlife spectacular. Nicko is the perfect guide, so passionate about the country and flexible with the itinerary to suit the group. He cooked up delicious meals and entertained us with his guitar, singing and didgeridoo. I’m a solo traveler in my 40’s but this would suit anyone with a sense of fun and adventure wanting to visit Ningaloo Reef and the National Parks in the north west. Swimming with the whale sharks was the highlight, but the whole trip is amazing.

We had a poor experience with Travelwild / West Adventure Tours on our recent Perth to Broome trip (this poor experience was shared by other participants undertaking the same trip).

In short, facilities on this trip were very sub-standard given what was expected. Two examples: in the camping sites selected shower facilities were only available on a few nights, and toilets were not available on several nights. And secondly, there was also limited power available at sites or on the bus to charge phones / devices - essential given almost everyone uses their phone / device for photos today. Our tour guide did an admirable daily job of attempting to arrange / confirm that night's accommodation, but it did feel to the tour party that adequate arrangements hadn't been made satisfactorily in advance.

Following this unsatisfactory experience (from a facilities perspective) we did complain to the provider contact (Tim Grigg) but to no avail. Hence this 'heads up' for prospective future tour attendees.

To be clear: the scenery and experiences of the West Australia region are stunning - particularly the national parks and the incredible Ningaloo reef - so definitely don't miss out ! However we'd strongly recommend closely focussing upon contracted itinerary and commitments very carefully with whatever tour company you are considering to avoid disappointment.

Our tour guide Nicko went out of his way to give everyone the best possible experience. Australia's west coast is definitely worth a visit and I can highly recommend choosing west adventure tours as the company to go with!

If you like to see West Australia, sleeping under the stars,
If you want to drop Wi-Fi and get to somewhere far,
If you like heading out in nature and feel the warmth of the earth,
This is the tour to get on, and escape from Perth.

        Ok cheesy introduction done :)

Take time to pack lightly with consideration to the temperature variance as you travel from Perth to Broome.

Tours with the Travel Wild Australia group takes you back to basics - hands on, gathering wood, setting up camp, help with meals and going with the flow. It is the best way to see remote parts of Australia without needing to worry about EPIRBs, where to camp and logistics. I am a return offender having done a Broome to Darwin trip with this company 6 years ago.

To many highlights to mention but would highly recommend the optional full day Canyoning trip at Karijini National Park. Your guide will help organise it.

Speaking of guides - our guide was Nicko: Disguised under the veneer of been super fun, a little bit crazy and cheeky are knowledge, expertise and skills. A combination that makes for a great guide in these remote long distance trips with a diverse group of passengers. Great meals including massaman curry with coconut milk and superb rice. He is also respectful of the indigenous culture and country.
Thank you Nicko for a fantastic trip. :)

Awesome 9 days. If I had more time would have stayed longer in Broome or even better extended the tour to go on to Darwin. :)

Amazing small group trip. Long hours of travel in a smallish vehicle but fabulous trip. Highlights - campfire, night skies, Nicko’s Brilliant campfire meals, Karijini National Park, torquoise Bay, optional abseiling etc, Dales Gorge. It’s a really, really, long way but terrific way to experience vastness of Australia. Load a good audiobook, podcasts, willingness to get covered in dust, contribute to every activity and you’ll love it. Thanks so much Nick. I MOSTLY loved your playlist!

Great tour with West Adv tours Perth to Broome. Whilst there is a lot of time spent in the minibus, each day was memorable. Big shout out for Steve- our guide/ driver/ cook with great historical and geological knowledge. Highlights are the gorges and water pools of Karijini and an optional trip to snorkel with manta rays at Exmouth. The bush camps particularly having Shell Beach to ourselves and gathering round the campfire were superior to the wilderness campsites which to an European were quite crowded, though we did appreciate the opportunity for a shower.

This family adventure tour was thoroughly amazing from start to finish! .... Beautiful sunrises and sunsets, sleeping each night in swags under the starry night-skies, lovely evening meals cooked on the campfire.
We travelled long distances but saw so many spectacular sights - Pinnacles, Kalbarri National Park, Ningaloo reef, Karijini National Park - and much much more. Swimming in pools, gorge walks, beach camps, campfires, wonderful company from the whole group.
All this was made possible due to the absolute legend who was our tour guide, Nicko. He was constantly enthusiastic, cheerful, entertaining and looked after us all throughout. Thankyou so much for all your tremendous work!
If you want a real adventure in Western Australia then look no further than WA Tours! We hope to come back to do the Kimberley tour sometime!
