About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- DianellaLass0 contributionsWhat an amazing experience. What an amazing experience. I would most certainly recommend this tour to anyone. I booked this tour as a Christmas present for my immediate family. There were 10 of us in total with ages ranging from 74 to 9. Claire was amazing from the time I enquired about the tour continuing through to the days following the tour. She was so helpful and was very accommodating to our needs. Our tour started on Saturday the 28th of December 2024 when we were picked up at my home at 1.45 and headed on our adventure. Gavin our driver and tour guide was a very experienced driver and guide. His commentary was very informative, and even though we live in Western Australia, he was able to give us some facts that were new to us. Our first stop was Lancelin where we were able to purchase some refreshments and then headed for the sand dunes. Everyone in my family had a fantastic time sand boarding down the dunes, so much so that we are still taking about it now. From here we drove to the beach where we some relaxing time enjoying the coolness of the ocean and then made our way back to Lancelin and then onto the Pinnacles. Even though some of us had been to the Pinnacles before we were totally amazed at how the landscape has changed. We walked around the dunes taking photos, enjoying the view and waiting for the sun to set. Sunset was spectacular and well worth the wait. Next it was time for our BBQ dinner and star gazing to begin. The BBQ dinner was delicious and the salads were amazing. We all loved it. It was hard to concentrate on star gazing with all the delicious food on offer but somehow we managed. Gavin was on the telescope pointing it in the right direction for us to get the best view whilst Don gave a running commentary. I cannot praise these two gentlemen enough, they really made our day so much better. We arrived back home, totally exhausted after such a fantastic day, at 11.45pm. I cannot thank Lumineer Adventure Tours enough for giving us such a wonderful experience and I have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone who is thinking of going on this adventure. Thank you Claire, Gavin and Don you are all amazingWritten 20 January 2025
- cheryllynnhardy0 contributionsFabulous tour!Such an incredible experience! We loved everything about it. The highlights were: * fantastic guide - very informative and witty * The Pinnacles - wow! What an incredible and unique landscape. * Dinner - delicious picnic under the stars * Star gazing experience - stunning and learned a lot. Thanks for a wonderful experienceWritten 18 January 2025
- P5987RP_0 contributionsHad an amazing time exploring Western Australia!Had an amazing time!! one of the best ways to explore Western Australia, especially if you are a solo traveler. Danny, our guide, made the entire trip both fun and informative, always ensuring we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves. I highly recommend adding the optional activity of swimming with manta rays – for me, it was the highlight of the trip. The tour includes long rides in a small bus, but it’s totally worth it , so we can reach all the incredible spots.Written 18 January 2025
- ma1g0 contributionsWonderful tour, highly recommended!Amazing tour! We saw so many things, starting from Perth, to the Kalbarri National Park and the Pink Lake, the dolphins at Monkey Mia, Shell Beach, snorkeling with the mantas… The highlight was definitely our wonderful guide Danny, who was friendly and knowledgeable and made sure we all enjoyed our time and had fun! I can’t recommend him enough. The tour involves a lot of driving and the bus is quite small and can get warm due to the high temperatures, but the stops are worth it, and everything was perfectly timed by Danny to ensure we had regular bathroom breaks, opportunities to buy water and snacks, and enough time to explore and have a swim at the great beaches we stopped at. I highly recommend doing the snorkeling with mantas in Coral Bay: it is excluded from the price of the tour, but it’s absolutely worth it ($270pp). It’s a day trip (from 7am to 2:30pm) with lunch included, and we got to go snorkeling and see so much marine wildlife including turtles, sharks and mantas. Another highlight was the dolphin experience at Monkey Mia (included in the tour)! There are 2 options for the tour (shared/private accommodation): the shared one included hostels with mixed dorms of up to 10 people. They are often in the middle of nowhere and with few toilets, but we never had any issues and always had a great time (especially since most people on the tour are backpackers and are used to the hostel life). I had a wonderful time and absolutely recommend this tour!Written 16 January 2025
- D9401TFemilya0 contributionsamazing experienceI had the most amazing experience travelling around West Australia! I had the best tour leader Danny, who gave us a lot of information about each of our destinations and was very smiley and enthusiastic! The accommodations were all very clean and tidy and the structure of the day worked very well! I would 100% recommend this trip, it was an experience I will never forget!Written 15 January 2025

- 125LarryS1250 contributionsGlad we wentErin made the difference in what could have been just a long bus ride into a pleasant experience. Her knowledge, humor, personable-ness, and driving skills all translated into a fun, full experience. The Pinnacles themselves are magnificant. To experience them in a small-group setting was nice. Glad also we could dip a toe into the Indian Ocean - a bonus.Written 12 January 2025
- dwnrvr100 contributionsWe would absolutely do this again!!This was an amazing experience, well worth every $. We had a stop in a community LANCELIN, don't miss the meat pies at the bakery. Experiencing the sand dunes was a hoot, what Fun we had. Then further north th the pinnacles. Every guide shared a wealth of wisdom, I learned alot...Written 10 January 2025
- Cosmopolitan2908590 contributionsLong day but worthwhile in the endErin our host was very professional, the stops was enjoyable and the buffet dinner was perfect. We had a bright moon so the sky was not that dark but it was okayWritten 9 January 2025
- KatrinG4230 contributionsGreat TourThis tour was the perfect start for my travel in Australia! Our Tourguide Danny was absolutely lovely, organized, and a treat to have as our guide. The places we got to visit were absolutely beautiful!Written 5 January 2025
- Amaya S0 contributionsBrilliant day tripWe did this a few days ago and really enjoyed it! As describes. Danny our tour guide was so Knowledgable and had a good sense of humour. We learnt a lot and had a laugh, he knew a lot about the stars which was interesting and even tho it was a bit cloudy he still managed to explain so much and we still saw a good amount of stars!Written 4 January 2025
- SSiLViAA0 contributionsRecommended tour for an interesting and relaxing visit of pinnaclesThis activity was great! Driver was very nice and friendly and he gave us very interesting explanations about places and things to visit while here in Perth. Pinnacles desert is wonderful and we had enough time to walk around and visit it. Dinner as well was good, buffet style so everyone could pick up their choices and at the end there was plenty of food for everyone. Star gazing very nice as well. Definitely recommended!!Written 4 January 2025
- AshishV4880 contributionsA Pinnacle ExperienceThe tour was well paced with enough pit stops to rest, recoup and explore. We enjoyed the chocolates at Yanchep and saw Kangaroos at the sanctuary. Explored Lake Thetis and enjoyed the amazing food at Lobster shack. Finally, Pinnacles was a sight to behold. Summer, our tour guide, was amazing and extremely knowledgeable about the history of Perth. She was very elaborate and was deft at acknowledging & explaining the aboroginal stories of the region. Thoroughly enjoyed and would highly recommend.Written 28 December 2024
- gracelZ2607FN0 contributionsAmazing tour guide - DougI came on this tour solo and messed up from the get go. Our tour guide, Doug, called me to let me know he was at the pick up point and it turned out I had gone to the wrong one. He was really efficient in helping me figure out the best, low cost step to take, to ensure I made the bus, he checked trains and uber costs whilst staying on the phone to me, which, as a solo traveler was extremely appreciated. The tour was an incredible experience and I feel extremely lucky to have been part of such a great group. However, I feel that this trip was particularly enjoyable because we had a tour guide who went above and beyond the call of duty. Doug did everything possible to ensure we had the best time we could. It’s easy to show up and do your job and then disappear, but it’s a different thing entirely when you commit yourself to the enjoyment of each individual on your trip. He was adaptable, open to suggestions and always happy to accommodate. Throughout the journey there were many stops and opportunities to use the loo. I’m not sure if this was because Doug stopped a decent amount, because it was a requirement on the agenda or because he happened to have a group of people with fairly weak bladders. Either way, it was greatly appreciated and made each journey more comfortable! The trip was brilliant, with a full itinerary of amazing things to do. This is a great tour option if you want to see a lot but only have a short period of time to do so.Written 22 December 2024
- JSomerset0 contributionsWorth the tripReally worth a trip to see the Pinnacles. Our guide Danny was lovely, gave us lots of interesting information and prepared a tasty supper. Generous and informative! This is an amazing landscape and we were given free time to roam on our own, to soak up the atmosphere and enjoy the somewhat lunar landscape. It was quite a long trip out as we stopped at several places along the way, but it was worth it and getting back was a lot faster. Thank you Danny for an enjoyable evening and for driving us safely.Written 18 December 2024

This was a great tour with Carla, our awesome Tour Guide and her (very experienced) trainee Linda. It was certainly a bonus to have 2 guides, and honestly don't know how they do it with one guide - you cover so many miles on the road each day, then have to arrange nightly check-ins and prepare dinner! They have the daily routines down pat, from setting up breakfast, preparing lunch and dinner and getting us to all the best tourist spots. The variety of food supplied was fresh and wholesome, plenty of snacks and fruit on the bus. We bought a few extra snacks at our stops along the way just to mix it up a bit.
The West Coast is incredibly scenic, and there are long stretches with not much to look at, but Carla kept us all informed with plenty of historical and cultural stories - her knowledge was exceptional and all delivered with a sense of humour. To drive this trip yourself would be quite tiring, so the small bus tour worked very well. We had a full tour, so there was no room for stretching your legs a bit. Planned toilet and coffee stops were appreciated and everyone was ready for a good stretch. You need to be up and on the road really early most days, and not arriving until after sunset. We had a great group with a variety of ages, and did manage to have a couple of social drinks and wind down before crashing each night. Carla and Linda did get us to the best sunrise and sunset locations as well.
The backpacker style accommodation was very good, and we had paid for private double rooms, albeit we had to share bathrooms on 2 out of 5 nights. Several couples were not aware of the standard dormitory style accomodation and shared bathrooms so I think this maybe could be a bit clearer on the tour information.
This is a "full participation tour" which means everyone is meant to pitch in and help with preparing and cleaning up after meals. Although we were happy to do this to maintain the reasonable price of the tour, there was no mention of this in the booking information and feel this should be advised prior to booking.
The excursions available on the Coral Coast and Exmouth stops were great. Note that optional Whale Shark experience takes you away for the whole day so most of our party missed out on the local Exmouth tour to the National Park and other coastal spots.
This was an awesome experience for us, a married couple in our early 60s. We've never been on this type of tour before and we certainly ticked off a couple of bucket list items along the way. Well done and thankyou to Carla, Linda and Autopia Tours.

What a fantastic 6 days with the awesome, legendary Carla as our guide. My 10 year old and myself enjoyed every minute and Carla was hilarious, knowledgeable and ready to go over and above to make sure we had the best 'tour' not 'holiday' ever. This tour had the perfect mix of landscapes and countryside and coastal and ocean. We were able to get a real insight into this section of WA and not feel like we were constantly in the bus. Carla was organised and amicable constantly sharing her unique sense of humour, the history of various places and showing us the best spots for sunsets and the odd sunrise ever. Absolutely loved this tour and would recommend to anyone, any age.
Autopia Tours in Melbourne were amazing as well - they were able to make perfect recommendations, went over and above to make sure it was the right tour for us and were constantly in touch to make sure we didn't miss out on the optional extras we wanted to participate in.
Thanks to Autopia and Carla we are looking forward to travelling with you guys again.

Alyssa our tour guide did a wonderful job organising all of our meals, driving the bus, keeping us entertained and was very knowledgeable. We had a great group ranging from 19-60ish. The bus is a small bus so the group is more intimate which for our group meant everyone got to know each other and everyone got on well. The days are long, you are up early and get in after dark most days but there are plenty of stops on the way to see things and stretch your legs. Accomodation was dorm style and one concern a few people had was the bunk beds at some accomodation didn’t have a rail on the top bunk, this is not Autopias fault but if this is a concern, you could put the mattress on the floor or I’d suggest upgrade to a private room. The tour was well worth it and I’d recommend it. I went as a solo passenger and felt very comfortable and had a ball. Dinner is a group effort and everyone takes a turn to help prepare dinner on one night, it was all easy to prepare and tasted great.

It is a more interesting way of getting from Perth to Exmouth, and you see the sights along the way. The food was basic but tasty and plentiful.
However there were big issues with the way the trip was run. The bus was cramped (insufficient legroom, no place for any bags inside) and unsuitable for a long driving trip with 23 of the 24 seats occupied. There was one driver/guide for 23 clients, and the guide had not previously done the trip. There was a lack of information and poor organisation (especially at mealtimes). I had a private room which was good apart from in Exmouth where we all had the noisest rooms in the motel.

One of the best group tours we have ever done. Geoff the guide & driver was fantastic - worked incredibly hard to make sure everyone was able to enjoy all that the remote coast had to offer. There were long drives but plenty of breaks and the incredible experiences at all the main stops were worth all the driving - sunrise at Nature’s Window (Kalbarri National Park), dolphins at Monkey Mia, swimming with Manta Rays (Coral Bay) and Whale Sharks (Exmouth). We selected the private accommodation (not the shared dorms) and they were all excellent - especially the beach front unit at Monkey Mia. The food was camping style with everyone pitching in to help prepare & clean up. Overall a brilliant way to see the coast from Perth to Exmouth and I would highly recommend Autopia. Thanks Geoff for all your efforts on a great tour.

Ww just finished this trip yesterday and I can highly recommend it. Geoff our guide was fantastic - warm, organised, engaged everyone, flexible and respectful.
Definitely backpacker accommodation and assistance unpacking the bus and propping meals as required. Everyone helped so this was not onerous.
The operators they connected us with were also first class and in Exmouth and Coral Bay there was flexibility over your time.
Couple of suggestions for Autopia would be to add a driver as Geoff is on 24hrs a day.
We also had a brand new bus which was nice!

A trip of a lifetime! As a solo female traveller in my 50s I was nervous about joining a tour (I'd not done anything like this before), but I needn't have worried. The tour, and the whole experience, far exceeded my expectations - from my lovely fellow travellers of all ages and from across the world, to the things we saw and did - swimming with manta rays and whale sharks, abseiling and soaking up the beautiful scenery.
And I can't forget our amazing tour guide, Geoff, who was both knowledgeable and caring, and went over and above to make sure everyone had an great time. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone looking for an adventure into a truly spectacular part of the world. If you're thinking about it, my advice would be DO IT!
Don't expect luxury accommodation or transport (the mini bus was a bit basic!) and everything done for you, but if you want a tour where you muck in and share together, then I think you'd be hard pushed to find a better tour than this. Thank you Geoff, Autopia, and all my fellow travellers, for an unforgettable experience I will never forget.

Truly an extraordinary experience, I'm not one for tours usually, yet this one changed my perspective entirely! Geoff, our tour guide, has such an infectious lust for life, his sheer passion for everything around us truly made the tour exceptional. The small group size is ideal, and a fair few good friendships were struck by the end of the tour. The bus stops in regular intervals in various places, accomodation is comfortable, and the price for what you get is extremely reasonable. In short, thank you Geoff, thanks travel mates, and thank you Autopia for an unforgetable experience!

Last week's 6 day tour was a memory for life. Very much because our guide and driver, Geoff. You could really feel his passion for traveling and guiding this type of tour. He made many stops along the way and had always something interesting to tell. Everything was well organized and we newer had any delays. Not from Geoff, nor from the group members. Our guide did not spare any effort to make us feel comfortable and well informed.
In the beginning I was a bit skeptical to the bus. A midsized Mitsubishi that had been in service for a while. But after days trawling I could se the benefits. It was very robust and functional for a trip like this. Small enough to get access to remote beaches etc. Effective air-conditioning with adjustable outlets for every seat, and we could hear Geoffs sharing all his stories loud and clear through the speaker system.
In the evenings we all joined to prepare dinner, and afterwards do the dishes. For us, who where the oldest on the tour (all retired) it gave nice opportunities to chat with the other guests on the tour. Most of them in their twenties. We made new friends.
Overall the tour was better than expected. And I give Geoff 10/10.
More of what we saw and did you can read about in the day-by-day tour program.

More of what we saw and did you can read about in the day-by-day tour program.

Hi there,
Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback! We’re thrilled to hear that your 6-day tour created lasting memories, and we truly appreciate your kind words about Geoff. We’re so glad to hear it enhanced your experience.
It’s also great to know that the bus, despite initial reservations, worked out well for the journey, allowing you to access remote spots while keeping everyone comfortable. The evenings spent preparing dinner and chatting with fellow travelers sound like the perfect way to build connections and make new friends—what a fantastic part of the experience!
We’re so happy to hear the tour exceeded your expectations, and we’ll be sure to pass on your praise to Geoff. Thank you again, and we hope to welcome you back for another adventure soon!
Kind regards,
Autopia Tours

Amazing trip, would definitely recommend! We had Danny for a guide who was excellent- very knowledgeable, friendly, and good fun. The scenery is incredible, everyday bought something stunning. There is a lot of driving (unavoidable given the geography) but completely worth it. There are lots of well considered optional activities (although never any pressure to take them)-I went snorkelling with mantas in Coral Bay and it was one of the best experiences of my life!!
Only minor quibble is that this is very much a 5 day/5 night trip if you stay in Exmouth (the same bus returns to Perth for the longer tour)-this is clear in the detailed itinerary but the marketing is a touch misleading.
We had a very mixed group-ages teen to seventies but it worked very well. Predominantly twenties and thirties but enough flexibility to suit everyone. I would certainly use this company again!

G'day!
Thanks for the awesome review! We’re thrilled to hear you had such a fantastic trip with Danny as your guide. His knowledge and friendly vibe really do make a difference, don’t they?
It sounds like you've had a blast while snorkeling with the Mantas in Coral Bay! It's amazing to know that this experience had such a positive impact on you! Must be such a magical moment.
We're sorry to hear that you've thought our marketing didn't match the itinerary. We do take a walk on our 7th day at Green Head before wandering amongst the sand dunes of Lancelin. And after this we head back to Perth.
It’s great to hear the diverse group worked well together, too! We’d also love to have you back for another adventure in the future!
Cheers,
Autopia Tours
