      Highly recommend this trip!
This trip was amazing! Geoff was the perfect tour guide--he kept our group up to date on everything we needed to know, shared a huge amount of information about each part of the experience, but even more importantly, shared some details that were personal to him and really helped forge connections within our group. I had been a little nervous about how this might go, especially as I was traveling on my own, but I can't recommend this tour, and Geoff, highly enough. I also got lucky with a small group (only 9 of us on the tour) and I truly enjoyed getting to know the other people on the tour (miss you all!). Beautiful landscapes, amazing animals (still a bit sour that I missed the echidna, ha ha), clear communication, and so much fun! You cover a lot of kilometers but there are frequent breaks and opportunities to stretch your legs and get off the bus for a bit, and it's so worth it (plus, as an American used to a different set-up on the road, I was happy not to have to do any driving). Oh, and we got to see the southern lights in Monkey Mia--how cool is that?? Tip: if you do this, you should book the manta and whale shark snorkel options as well--absolutely top notch.

      Unexpectedly beautiful
It was a fantastic experience - the highlight definitely the Pinnacles and star gazing. It was so desolate, but so unexpectedly beautiful. Andreas did a great job, was trustworthy and he was super informative and helpful. If you have half a day free, this is certainly worth the trip.

An awesome experience of WA for a solo traveller!
The tour was well organised and very fun for a solo traveller. The itinerary was great and the host was well-versed in facts and stories that were delivered during the driving portion of the trip. You will need to expect to sit on the bus for long periods of time. This was not an issue for me as I enjoyed watching the scenery, listening to Geoff's (our tour host) knowledge, mingling with the other people on the tour, listening to music, and even catching up on sleep! This tour also involves helping out during meal times. The tasks are relatively easy and mostly involve chopping some veggies, stirring the dishes on the stove, and doing some quick clean up after. It's a fun way to bond with other people on the tour and makes you appreciate the value of time, preparation, and the process of cooking. As someone who opted to stay in the shared dorms, I mostly had to share with someone else on the tour. There were only two locations that required sharing rooms with non-tour people. If you choose this accommodation option, expect to share rooms and bathrooms. For the most part, this was okay as you only need your room for sleeping after a long day of fun adventures. The majority of the tour you will be out in nature or on the bus. If you are a sensitive/light sleeper, you might want to consider a private room. I ended up taking part in most of the extra activities including the snorkelling, whale shark, and abseiling experiences. It is not necessary but I'm really glad I took part in these add-ons as the memories and experiences were unique and priceless. There is also an app called Photo Circle where travellers can share their photos with one another easily. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and wish I could rewind time to live through it again. Thank you to Geoff for being a friendly, thoughtful, and expert tour host. Thank you too to the eight other people I shared this trip with! What a memory to cherish.

      Exceptional trip - would recommend!
Absolutely brilliant trip! Myself and my partner were thinking about hiring a camper and making our way up the west coast on our own. Having now done the trip I am so happy we chose this option instead. We were with a smallish group of only 9 people and our brilliant tour guide Geoff. Our group became very close and only helped enhance the whole journey by sharing with them and our guide! The tour was brilliant, we saw so many amazing things, beautiful places and wildlife! Our guide Geoff was brilliant, knowledgable, friendly and shared lots of interesting personal stories as well as facts about the areas we were passing through and wildlife. If you’re on the fence about booking this, or thinking about doing it under your own steam I would certainly recommend doing this trip! It takes away all the stress of planning and organising things. Also having someone keeping your times on track and also doing all the driving for you just makes this an easy and relaxing experience in comparison to what it could otherwise be. To all our friends on the trip, thank you, we loved spending time with you! To our guide Geoff, thank you so much, to meet someone who is both so good at their job and loves it so much was inspiring and you made our trip seamless and something that we will never forget.

A very easy way to see the desert without too much effort. Well organised with a very informative guide (Danny). I would highly recommend.

      Very disappointing
I cannot recommend this tour. The bus was old and uncomfortable and didn't provide any storage space for bags nor seat pockets. The first stop was at a gas station; one would expect the bus to be fueled before the tour starts. There was no water or anything provided on the bus. The stop at the Nilgen lookout didn't happen. The "tour guide" didn't provide any meaningful information. The "sunset dinner" consisted of cheap food from a supermarket and was served in a public seating area at the entrance of the park. (We saw other tours that came with picnic tables and chairs and sat among the pinnacles.) The stargazing didn't happen because of an overcast sky; I would have expected a more professional handling of the weather rather than just saying "let's go back to the bus". Overall, we paid US$118 for a bus ride worth US$20, food worth US$10 and entrance fee US$6. No good value for money.

      Excellent
It was a great tour… saw many beautiful places. Whale Sharks was one of the greats. (Book it) Dolphins just swimming near you. But most of all our tour guide was amazing. We couldn’t have done this with Summar. The many many driving, always happy, optimistic Summar helps throughout the tour. I don’t know how she does it. She is also keen to play games on the road. I wouldn’t fib. Cheers, Kjella

      Very impressive
This is very different, it's difficult to see Just what the Pinnacles are made of. So different. It's a site to see. Also don't forget the fly spray. We saw a lot of Australian salutes (fly swatting).

      From Perth to Whale-Sharks
This tour is one of the best we have done over the years. As an "older" couple it was great to immerse ourselves in the mix of ages and nationalities driven by the enthusiasm of our guide, Geoff Homma (and trainee Andrea). The itinerary covered lots of interesting locations and exposed us to so much nature and wild-life both on land and in the water. If Ningaloo and swimming with whale sharks at Exmouth is on your bucket list. . . do it!

      Excellent for solo travellers
What an unforgettable adventure! As a female solo traveler, I'm always mindful of my surroundings, but thanks to Geoff, our tour guide, and the wonderful group dynamics, I felt safe and at ease throughout the journey. The itinerary was packed with thrilling experiences, stunning scenery, and unforgettable wildlife encounters. These memories will forever hold a special place in my heart, and I warmly recommend Autopia's services to anyone looking to explore this incredible part of the world. Thank you, Geoff, for creating such a memorable trip!

      To Infinity and beyond
I can only rate 5 stars to this adventure. Geoff and Andrea are naturally talented guides. Only good vibes and so much love and personal experiences shared during the trip. This travel has been one of those making you questioning about real happiness in life. I cannot thank enough for that. Having said that the land explored is amazing : from untouched desert where only eagles flies to a crystal clear ocen where we encountered flipping manta rays, dolphins, tiger sharks, emus and kangaroos. The long incredible swimming alongside whale sharks was the perfect ending and a must do experience. Yes, many bus hours but all spent in the good company of newly made friends! Thanks again and really looking forward to embarking on a new adventure with you guys.

      incredible experience !
I had an incredible experience on the tour led by Geoff and Andrea. From start to finish, it was evident that they are deeply passionate about showcasing the beauty of Australia to visitors. Their genuine care and enthusiasm made the journey truly memorable. Throughout the tour, Geoff and Andrea went above and beyond to ensure that everyone had an unforgettable time. Their knowledge about the local attractions, culture, and history was impressive, and they eagerly shared insights at every opportunity. What struck me the most was their dedication to making sure everyone felt included and engaged. Whether it was pointing out hidden gems or organizing fun activities, they went the extra mile to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all of us. Thanks to Geoff and Andrea's guidance and hospitality, I not only got to see breathtaking sights but also gained a deeper appreciation for the wonders of Australia. I highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for an enriching and unforgettable adventure Down Under!

      Great Day Trip
Day trip to the Pinnacles Desert was a fantastic experience. Had a couple of stops at Lancelin and the Wedge Lookout to stretch our legs, but the highlight was no doubt the stunning landscape and sunset at the Pinnacles Desert. We had a casual picnic with plenty of food and snacks, and the cloud stayed away long enough for us to do some stargazing (though the telescope did not get much effective use!) Danny was a great host, very knowledgeable of the region and its cultural history, whilst keeping us entertained with his humor.

Me and my mum had the best time in WA on this amazing trip. We were extremely lucky to see a lot of wildlife like dolphins, dugongs, sharks, turtles, kangaroos, emus… the nature is just breathtaking and the stops on the tour were amazing. All accommodations were nice, too.
A big thank you to our incredible guide Geoffrey who did everything to make the most out of our experience. He is very dedicated to Australias flora and fauna and made the trip unforgettable.

I was disappointed that, in my view, the Autopia Tour website is misleading about the quality of this tour. It is a very basic, do-it-yourself, backpacker tour.

With the meals, the guests are expected to help haul the food and equipment from the vehicle, set it up, help cook, and clean up afterward. I would have had no problem with that if that was how it was presented. But when told I will be provided breakfast, lunch and dinner, that isn’t what I expect.

The standard of accommodation on the first and last nights was abominable. We paid for the “Private Twin/Double” upgrade, taking note that “Private ensuite facilities are not available at every property”. In fact, ensuite facilities are not available at any property this tour chooses to use. The first night was at a hostel which was simply filthy. The last night was a “farm stay” which, while cleaner, had rooms of a quality one would expect as a farm hand at harvest time, or perhaps a detention centre on Manus Island. The toilet facilities were a hundred meters from the rooms, up an unlit rocky, brush covered hill in a converted shipping container. Notably, the middle night stay at the RAC facility in Monkey Mia was quite decent.

In considering this tour, be aware that there is a LOT of time spent in the bus, about seven hours a day. No complaint there; that is what I signed up for. In retrospect, it is trying to cram too much into too little time.

The bus itself was a small 13-passenger van with 13 passengers. Generally, it was reasonably comfortable, although crowded. Oddly, despite operating in an environment where 40+ degree days are common, there were no curtains, leaving the passengers on the sunny side to bake.

Our guide was cheerful and enthusiastic, making the best of all situations. She was also a very good, safe driver. It was, however, her first tour in WA, so she was not very knowledgeable about the locations we visited, and I think Autopia let her (and us) down in that she was not well briefed.

This tour is new to Autopia’s offerings. As Autopia Tours has a very good reputation, I suspect they, too, would be disappointed by the quality of this tour. Perhaps they are fulfilling the accommodation contracts of a previous operator, and will upgrade from the dismal offerings we got – but that is just a guess on my part. Let’s hope so.

Well, what made this tour so very enjoyable was our driver, Geoffrey Homma. He had so much knowledge about everything concerning the places we visited and took the time and trouble to follow up and respond to questions he couldn’t answer straightaway. He was always polite and professional and clear with instructions and information. We couldn’t ask for more. He is the most valuable asset to your company. Don’t lose him!!
There was a great bunch of people on this tour. We all got along very well and had so much fun.
Our accommodation was first class and lunch on the final day, which included lobster, was amazing.
Loved the places we visited, many of which we would have simply passed by if we had driven ourselves. Monkey Mia was exceptional! Certainly well worth the expense.
Very highly recommended. Well done and thank you Geoff and Autopia.

This trip was absolutely worthwhile, Geoff our tour guide kept us engaged and he knew so much about the local culture, places and history. I really appreciated the small group format and them capping people to get a better experience! Accommodations were excellent especially at the RAC Resort at Monkey Mia and Kalbarri Edge Resort. I initially went in thinking I wasn't going to get everything I wanted to get out of this tour but felt like Geoff knew what we wanted out of the tour and even made additional stops that weren't on the original itinerary. If someone had a question Geoff would find the answer and get back to us. If I could revise one thing about the trip would be an actual hike at the Kalbarri National Park (Z bend lookout, The Loop Trail especially) As an avid hiker, I felt like the stop there was too short. Especially since we lodged overnight in nearby Kalbarri. You will be able to do so much in just four days! Felt like enough time was spent in Dedham and Monkey Mia. I did want to explore more of Kalbarri and Geraldton specifically. And perhaps adding one more day especially around Kalbarri for future tours would be cool!

Uploading photos to a group shared app was a great idea also, love seeing what other group members took!

The format of this tour has changed, it is not a backpacking tour and this specific tour does not offer a hostel option at the time that I booked and went on the tour. Some meals are included in the trip and eating at local restaurants for others.

    Highlights Include:
    Nature's Window
    Ocean Park Aquarium
    Hutt's Lagoon Pink Lake
    Dynamite Bay
    Shell Beach
    Multiple Sunsets overThe Indian Ocean

I thoroughly enjoyed my time with Autotopia Tours and hopefully will be doing another tour with them next time I go Down Under!
