About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Nicole S0 contributionsRottnest TourIt was a great tour, the guides were knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. I learnt a lot about Rottnest’s history. I would recommend this tour. Lunch was delicious tooWritten 28 November 2024
- 910aarthig0 contributionsMeh…For the price the overall experience was average but justified to make up for the fuel given it’s an 800km journey to and fro. Lunch ended being sandwiches as they accidentally gave away our lunch to another tour group so this should have been managed better if charging so much especially when we were all so hungry and the timing was already delayed. Beck our guide was lovely and the 3 stars is just for herWritten 21 November 2024
- 535brigittea0 contributionsFabulous tour of Rottnest with amazing tour guide KevinFabulous tour of ‘Rotto’, with an amazing tour guide ‘Kevin’. He made it so interesting and informative. His own experiences shared from his childhood memories and antics, made the trip even more enjoyable…even when it was drizzlingWritten 18 November 2024

- zoniagarre0 contributionsRottnest is impressiveThis tour show us the best of Rottnest in just a few hours and in a very entertaining way. Tunnels and train complement perfectly this tour. Make sure you have additional time to know around the island by your own, the views are very impressive.Written 6 November 2024

- Der_unterwegs_ist0 contributionsLong but great trip to Wave RockThanks to our driver Frank, the long journey to Wave Rock was very informative. He explained a lot about the area to us. The individual stops were nice and we had plenty of time. Despite the long journey, the tour is highly recommended. Unfortunately, the lunch was not of the same quality as the tour.Written 7 October 2024
- 228janinej0 contributionsOk but lots of bus travelTour bus driver was fantastic It was a long day 7.15 am to 10 pm , very rushed we did not get to go onto the Busselton pier 1/2 hour stop ,single winery visit Then the lunch was ok but not special then the caves fantastic , drive to the Leeuwin Lighthouse long drive, next Margaret River was when every thing was closed. We spent a lot time on bus with short 1/2 hour visits ok if you only had one day but its a long dayWritten 7 October 2024

- Katherine O0 contributionsGreat Day Out!A fantastic trip out to the pinnacles along with a bit of sand boarding! Absolutly beautiful scenery and some good commentary from our guide! A beautiful bbq followed by star gazing. A great way to meet people when travelling solo and a wide variety of people to chat to. A wonderful day out.Written 18 September 2024
- larrymcchu0 contributionsEnjoyable stargazing experienceWe were lucky to have Jonathan as our tour guide. He is a professional astronomer (and possibly physicist as well), and while on our way he gave the tour participants a very good overview about stars and astrophysics. He also gave vivid descriptions about the spots that we visited during the daytime. The most enjoyable part was the stargazing at the Pinnacles at night. It was not the best time of the month to gaze at the stars (as the moon was quite bright), but we did see a lot of stars which was almost mission impossible in cities. The experience was more enjoyable still with Jonathan's guide on which stars / constellations were which. Thanks Jonathan for bringing us the wonderful experience! Also thanks to Charlene the driver in taking us to the Pinnacles and safely back to Perth!Written 15 September 2024
- wendymI9597YG0 contributionsIt was exhaustingI had no idea how long and how far this trip was. If i had known i would not have booked it was 13 plus hours on a bus round trip. Way too longWritten 10 September 2024
- 107amandae0 contributionsInformative, great overview of the Island: beware of the stairsWe opted to book the Grand Island Tour which is operated by Australian Pinnacle Tours, the cost of the tour was $99 per adult. This cost is for the Island Tour; the cost of ferry transfer to/from Rottnest Island is additional. After arriving at the Island and disembarking from the ferry it is about a 5-10 minute walk, depending on how quickly you walk, to the train station for the first leg of the tour. The first leg involves a train ride to Oliver's Hill. Unfortunately on the day of our tour the train was out of service due to mechanical issues. In lieu of the train, transport to Oliver's Hill was provided by coach. Whilst less atmospheric than the train, it served the purpose (the day was lovely and sunny and wind-free; on a windy day, the coach would provide more protection from the elements). At Oliver's Hill is an old armament, including a tunnel. Volunteer guides take people on a tour, this is in two parts. One part involves descending to the tunnel, there are multiple steps and it can be quite steep. For those who feel uncomfortable with the steps, it is possible to wait and sit out this part of the tour. The second part of the tour does not involve steps, so is fine. Lunch was served at Oliver's Hill. This included three options, chicken wrap, falafel wrap or salad (the gluten-free option). The wraps whilst fairly basic were fresh and tasty, multiple group members were heard complimenting the quality. Bottles of drinking water were provided. The weather was well-suited to a picnic lunch - there are picnic tables. However, the exposed site means that it could be windy, so would recommend bringing jackets and sunscreen. Following the picnic lunch there is a tour that pretty much covers the circumference of the Island. Our coach driver was passionate about Rottnest and has been visiting for many years. He provided fabulous insights into the history of the Island and his own experiences. Various stops are made to take photographs, etc. The tour concludes about 5 minutes walk from the ferry terminal for those who are catching ferries back to Perth/Fremantle. This tour is recommended both as a way of providing an overview of the Island and for those who may not want to cycle around. The Grand Tour also means that there is no need to wait for the next hop-on/hop-off bus.Written 3 September 2024

Found that there was not enough time at Kings park especially if you go to have a coffee We ordered coffee and scones. They were so slow we had to ask them to do take away. Price were very high The bus comentary was hard to hear and what we did hear we couldn't connect to the place We felt that the driver was talking just to the few front people. Some of the seat belts in the bus we were on would not reach around When we got to Fremantle we were dissapointed as how we had to get to the boat It was confusing and had to walk back 10 minutes. Highlight of the trip was the cruise back to perth

An excellent and informative coach tour of Perth city including the Kings Garden area with stop off and then transit to and tour of Fremantle. There are options to either return by coach or ferry. We elected to spend time in historic Fremantle before returning on the ferry up the River Swan to Perth. Our driver/guide, Keith, took particular care to provide interesting information and to ensure that everyone understood their options. Recommended.

This tour is excellent and brilliant value for money especially if you include the Swan River Cruise back to Perth. Our driver/guide had a superb knowledge of both Perth and Fremantle and was most informative in a polite and courteous manner. Would recommend this tour to any visitor to Perth as an excellent way to gain knowledge of both venues.

Discerning in relation to the driver been instructed on how to drive the bus with 16 pax aboard. (No consideration for safety) Late for transfer by 25 mins for sightseeing and again late by 15 mins leaving the Botancial Gardens. Driver constantly making bad jokes about the Chinese ( disgrace for your reputation). Commentary interrupted by his narrative on his “cold” and constant negativity. Perth is a beautiful city but unfortunately I would not recommend this company for any sightseeing tours.

Dear Janet G,
Thank you for taking the time to advise us of your recent experience on our Perth City Explorer tour and we are extremely disappointed to read your comments with regard to our driver on the day. We are investigating all issues mentioned, not least the reference concerning the initial driving skills and certainly the inappropriate comments made regarding other nationalities which we take extremely seriously and by no means condone. Thank you for this input and we will act to ensure a similar experience will not occur in the future and we apologise for this failure in delivering an exceptional tour.

Though this tour was facinating, in hindsight I wish I had taken the train into Freemantle and spent a day or 2 exploring. There is so much to see and this tour just doesn't allow you the time to see it all. The Prison tour is facinating and Sad .

Perth is a great city. Friendly people and transport is so easy.
Open air bus trip gives you a great overall picture of the city. More time in Kings Park is a must.
Only had a short time in Freeo but the late afternoon cruise back was worth it. Even saw dolphins swimming close to our boat. Put Perth on your bucket list. So much more to see and enjoy.

Our tour was half a day, but we seemed to see a lot of interesting places. We saw the Kings Gardens, and a new bridge over the Swan River being built. Dianne was our driver and she was very informative. We had a short stay in Freemantle for our own lunch, lots of cafes to choose from, then back to Perth .
