- Ken38160 contributionsTour Local great trip, you did it again. The 14 day Kimberley Explorer Trip that we have just completed is the third Extended trip we have made with this family run company, Tour Local, and to date it would have to be the most spectacular. Tour Local is a company headquartered in Pakenham and conducts small group tours of about 20 passengers, this particular trip had 18 passengers, the driver, David and the Tour Leader, Ray, on a very well appointed coach that could seat 53 passengers, so plenty of room to spread out. Passengers booking Extended Tours and live within a 60kms. radius of Pakenham can be picked up and dropped off at the start and end of each tour. Our particular journey started with a flight from Melbourne to Darwin where we stayed for 4 nights at The Vibe Waterfront Hotel, during our stay we had some time to ourselves interspersed with a number of side trips, including Katherine Gorge. On leaving Darwin we started our travels which would eventually end with a 3 night stay at The Mangrove Hotel in Broome. In between we travelled, and stayed, at Kununurra, Halls Creek and Fitzroy Crossing, we also visited Pine Creek,Derby and Wyndham. In addition to the accommodation we experienced many highlights, including, Ord River Cruise with lunch, a flight over the Bungle Bungles, a cruise on Lake Argyl, a Sea Plane flight to see The Horizontal Falls( an optional extra), and many many more. The best hotel was The Mangrove Hotel in Broome, closely followed by the Vibe Waterfront Darwin, the most surprising food was the Dinner and Breakfast buffets at the Halls Creek Motel, simple food cooked and presented very well. The trip we did was just one leg of a trip that started in Melbourne and travels up through the Red Centre to Darwin before winding its way down the West Coast of West Australia then along the South Coast of WA, travelling finally across the Nullabour to Adelaide. 61 days all up.Written 12 September 2024

- jessp2990 contributionsAmazing experience! Glad I did it!The trip was amazing. Commentary and knowledge of the area was fantastic I didn’t want to do the boat through the falls, so this was definitely a great alternative and so much packed to see in the day.Written 22 August 2024
- laurensD2434XC0 contributionsA fascinating area. Thanks Michael (our pilot) and Tex (our tour guide). You were both great. The tour was very well organized with lots of opportunities to eat. The Bungle Bungles were fascinating and beautiful. We also learned a little about the local flora and fauna. It was a very informative tour.Written 9 August 2024
- JJOsb0 contributionsGreat pilot and tour guide.Picked up at our accomodation at 5.25am then onto the airport. A lovely brekkie waiting for us. Met our pilot Michael who could not do enough to assist us, plus he was an excellent pilot. Arrived at the Bungle Bungles around 10.00. Picked up by Tex for a four wheel drive to where our walk began. Tex was so knowledgeable and explained everything as we walked and also the history of the area on the bus. We walked to Cathedral Gorge which was stunning for lunch (also provided) then back to the bus and to the airport for our trip back to Broome. Arrived in Broome around 5.15pm. A very big day but well worth it the Bungle Bungles were amazing. So if you have limited time this flight is perfect.Written 9 August 2024

- monikaschreiber0 contributionsBreathtaking Views and Exceptional Service: Broome Aviation Delivers!Amazing! Amazing! Amazing!....what more can I say! My family and I had an exceptional experience with Broome Aviation and our pilot Caleb. His professionalism and knowledge put us at ease from the moment we walked in the door and stepped on the plane. All staff were helpful, knowledgeable, devoted to what they do. My family including two young grandkids, took the Broome Scenic flight tour, with Caleb. It was amazing, one can’t appreciate the scale of Broome and the Kimberley from the ground. Everything we saw was awe-inspiring. Especially the whales. The flight was great, the commentary interesting, and witnessing the sunset from the air... wow!. The entire trip was incredibly smooth, including both the take-off and landing, and the plane was surprisingly comfortable. The scenery of the area is a must see, and seeing it by plane really showcases the whole area in just a short flight. The photos don't do it justice! We highly recommend this tour.Written 27 July 2024
- O3785OWsarahs0 contributionsThe best scenic tourWe did a Broome Sunset Scenic tour and it was brilliant. Our pilot Caleb was fantastic - highly knowledgeable and entertaining. As well as the amazing landscape views we also got to see whales in the ocean. I would highly recommend.Written 27 July 2024
- DaveMaw0 contributionsThe best way to view the Kimberley’s best landmarks is from 2500ft and Broome Aviation delivered with excellent service.Yesterday, my wife and I had a truly memorable and marvellous experience, with our pilot Hylton, who kept us amused and informed from 7am until 5pm. We had an early hotel pickup at 6:15am and the Broome Aviation team had complimentary snacks available whilst we had a safety briefing before departure. We had two fellow passengers in a Cessna 210, so it was almost fully loaded. Nevertheless, we spent almost 6hrs in flight during the full day tour, all in relative comfort. Our first leg was to Mount Hart, where we had a substantial cooked breakfast, before our main flight up to the Mitchell Falls. We circled the falls in both directions, which provided excellent photo opportunities from both sides. We then flew back via the Horizontal Falls, with similar rotations, then onward to land at Cygnet Bay for lunch and a tour of the pearl farm. The last leg of our journey was from Cygnet Bay back to Broome Airport, following the coast for crocodile, shark and whale spotting. Unfortunately, we had no confirmed sightings, but that did not spoil our enjoyment of the beautiful scenery. Throughout the entire day, our pilot Hylton kept us informed and entertained, with historical, geographical and legendary information. All passengers had headphones, with microphones, so we were all able to communicate as a group, when it was safe to do so. Viewing such magnificent scenery from the air is an unmissable experience and we saw so much more from height than we would have done had we toured the area at sea or ground level (cruising or land vehicle). The landscape constantly changed and it was fascinating to see how the geography transitions through multiple forms that have been developing for millions of years. We loved every second of our almost 11hrs in their capable hands (and aircraft). We thoroughly recommend both this extensive tour and Broome Aviation, as the service provider. The team’s friendly and committed service made yesterday a day we will never forget. Thank you all.Written 14 July 2024

Our pilot for the day was young George - he was friendly, approachable and very knowledgeable. He got us safely from Broome to Purnululu National Park and back, including the scenic flight over Purnululu. The whole day went so smoothly, and it was a day we will never forget. Highly recommend and a great way to see this special country.Written 12 July 2024

The tour was nice even so I was a bit disappointed by the weather. I was hoping for turquoise waters and red cliffs, but the sun refused to come out (wet season). The onluly day since we are here. When we booked, I had a feeling that we should have waited for antoher day, but it probably could have been the other way round as the weather is quite unpredictable atm. And we had more bad luck as our fist oyster at the pearlfarm was empty (but the second had a pearl and Noah let his sister take it out...broke my heart a little). Nevertheless the views were still beautiful and the flight was awesome, the pearlfarm was much better than any I've been to before. The best thing about the trip was the pilot George. What a lovely young man! He did his absolut best to make it a stunning experience, explained a lot, was lovely especially with the kids and very patient when they chattered on the headphones! With George by your side even the reluctant sun can't ruin the trip!!!! And the waterfalls surprised me! I thought we wouldn't have to go and see it, but as we went they were beautiful and even a little bit tuquoise! And George spotted a Dugong for us!!!!! A lovely flight experience!

Thank you so much for your lovely review! The weather is very unpredictable during the Wet Season…stunning one day, not so much the next day. Even with the clouds the views did not disappoint, the views are breathtaking every day.
We are so thrilled that you still enjoyed The Incredible Islands with us. And as unpredictable as the weather can be so to are finding pearls when the shells are open. We are so happy that you did enjoy the magic of Cygnet Bay, lunch and the pearl farm tour.
George will love to hear your fabulous comments regarding his professionalism. We will be sure to share this high praise with them.
Thank you again for sharing your experience and praise with us, and we look forward to welcoming you back on another tour.

We had a quiet flight. The young pilot flew carefully and avoided a thunderstorm cell. However, with 4 passengers it was very cramped in the cabin. The cabin made a shabby impression. The paneling was defective and dirty in many places. Not all passengers could speak to the pilot via the microphone.
The scenery was spectacular. The pilot constantly informed us about the sights.
A visit to the Sygnet Bay Pearl Farm is definitely worthwhile. A detailed tour provides information about the history and cultivation of this farm. We were particularly impressed by the ecological aspect of the mussels. The whole experience was rounded off with a delicious lunch.

The Incredible Islands Tour in Broome by Broom Aviation was an unforgettable experience. The stunning aerial views of Horizontal Falls and the breathtaking coastline were definitely the highlights, and visiting Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm was both fascinating and educational. Our pilot, Marius, added so much to the journey with his expert knowledge and engaging commentary. I highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to explore the Kimberley region with amazing scenery and an insightful guide!

We had such an amazing experience today visiting Cape Leveque and seeing the incredible Buchaneer Archipelago and Horizontal waterfalls. My kids, 4 and 1 year old, loved the trip also and did really well on the little plane that we had :-) After landing in Cape Leveque, we had a delicious fully cooked big breakfast waiting for us with cold juice, water and fresh fruits. A short 5-10 minute stroll from here took us to the most glorious beach that postcards are made of. The water a balmy 30 degrees and perfect for the kids and us to splash about in. The area has a beach shower and shade to dry off if needed. Once back aboard the Cessnar 210, we flew about 30 minutes over the Buchaneer Archipelago to the location of the horizontal falls. Our pilot Matt did a superb job doing two full circles around the falls in each direction so that we had plenty of time to take photos of this amazing natural phenomenon.
From here, we flew back over land to Broome (about an hour). Both kids and husband fell asleep too on the way back :)
We had read that the aircraft can get quite hot inside but we found it pleasant enough to not be bothered by any heat and it was definitely much cooler air flying up above than down on the ground in the shade. Also, whilst my husband and I are quite tall people (184 cm and 196cm) we found our seats roomy enough and much more space for legs compared to a standard commercial airline. I also had an infant seatbelt for my 14 minth old baby who was very relaxed on the trip.
The views you see from the plane on the many islands of this part of the Kimberley's is so stunning... it has definitely inspired us to come back to this pocket of WA another time and see more of this region.
Cannot recommend this tour more - no regrets and worth the cost.

We arrived in Broome just after the areas were re-opened due to COVID19. Everyone was still shaking the dust off their businesses to get ready for the school holidays, so getting *any* flight was originally not going to happen. However Broome Aviation somehow did the amazing and two sets of two happily boarded the light aircraft with Jaxon. The flight was simply fantastic and Jaxon well versed in the scenery and history of the areas we flew over. We landed at Cape Leveque, the Kooljaman camp for a lovely breakfast and a quick swim before we headed back via the Horizontal Falls. The scenery was magnificent, but it was enhanced by the competent handling of the aircraft to obtain the best views both sides of the plane and the commentary of an experienced pilot.

We had a fabulous day with spectacular views over the coast and inland. The views over the horizontal falls were amazing and we flew low making many sweeps past. We were collected promptly from our hotel and driven to the airport where we boarded a small 6 seater with our pilot Mac. Mac explained everything, including the cloud patterns and our course.
We landed smoothly on a bright orange dirt track without a single bump and were collected by a van and driven to the pearl farm. Unfortunately we had to sit outside instead of inside to have lunch at the pearl farm and it was 35 degrees. The restaurant was empty but we were told they were setting up for a dinner function.
The pearl farm tour was very interesting and our guide was lovely and very friendly.
Our flight back over the coast with all the colors of the land again was amazing. Flying over Cable beach at sunset and seeing the camels was a lovely last treat.

Harrison did a great job hosting us and his Pilot skills were excellent.
He went to a lot of trouble flying through the clouds to give us amazing views of the falls.
Cygnet Bay provided A full Breakfast and Lunch.
Nothing was too much trouble for the staff.
The fast boat ride was informative and our skipper was excellent.
Our Guide at the Perl farm was excellent.
Just a pity about Toilets or lack of them ant the Terminal and please clean the windows in the bus and Plane.

This was planned by my partner post proposal that morning. Absolute great pilot Edward who was very knowledgeable the whole journey, was able to answer any questions we had. Big breakfast on arrival before starting the Pearl Farm tour.
Stephen was our tour guide and once again, very knowledgeable.
Unfortunately we could not do the boat cruise due to staff shortage but still had a great day. Lots of memorable experiences had.

My pilot was Austin and he was amazing. He was very informed and engaging with his information. His jokes while not always great, almost always got everyone laughing. Small plane but the flights weren’t too long so not really a problem.
