        Disreputable Tour Operator
Do not use this tour company. The driver was a no show. A call to the number to see what was going on was answered then dropped. Follow up calls got a voicemail saying it was outside of business hours only then to least the business hours during which time we were calling. They suggested reaching out via email and social media but also no response. After waiting for an hour we gave up. DO NOT USE. Disreputable company

        A must see
A great way to experience the Great Ocean Road and see the 12 Apostles when you are limited for time but Sightseeing Tours was disappointing. The bus driver was efficient in his driving but not much else. Not very engaging and when he did speak we couldn’t hear him. After providing feedback he spoke to louder on one occasion but then reverted back to speaking softly. He didn’t bother to check in again to see if the people at the back could hear or not. Each time we stopped he stayed in his seat until everyone got off and didn’t speak to anyone. The stops and ultimately the 12 apostles are a must see but a long day on a bus that could have been more enjoyable by maybe some upbeat music and a driver that wanted to be there.

        Should have a go
The trip was well-organized and the tour guide was nice. Though it would be better if the tour guide more sharing on the history or interesting facts about this spot. It was a beautiful sunny day, and the view was stunning that you won’t want to miss out in your life.

        Absolutely worth for solo travellers!
I highly recommend this tour to any solo traveler as myself or groups thar want to enjoy the Great Ocean Road in a chill way. It couldn’t have been better! We were lucky to have blue sky all day and our guide was fantastic! Always giving a huge amount of knowledge and curiosities along the way. It’s a long trip to get to the apostles but Birt (pretty sure I’m not spelling correctly) made the trip much easier. Although we had to manage to do things in a fast way during the stops, was totally wise so we could have a nice experience and don’t have any delays. Thank you for the experience!

Really good trip, with lots of different parts to the trip. Relaxed, helpful driver/guide. Long day but worth it for amazing views across the Jamie's on valley and 3 sisters

        A good choice!
A great tour with nothing to complain about. A very genuine experience, James filled the time on the bus with relevant commentary. Can probably be thought of by some as being a bit rushed, but there is a lot to be covered so it is understandable. Personally I am very fine with 40 min at 12 Apostles, enough for me.

One day trip from Sydney to the Blue mountains with Irene.....lol Alice
We had a fantastic time and we were able to see and do a lot for very little expense. What really made the tour A+ was Irene aka "Alice" from your biggest fans Steven and David from USA.... Thanks again for a wonderful day!

Good Experience on 1-Day Great Ocean Road Trip
We travelled along the Great Ocean Road and visited Anglesea, Great Ocean Road Memorial Arch, Apollo Bay, the 12 Apostles, Loch Ard Gorge and Winchelsea . Our guide, Mr. Burton was knowledgeable, witty and considerate. He gave us a lot of information on all the sites that we visited. It was a good trip.

        Great Blue Mountain tour.
My friend and I had a great day out on the Blue mountain tour. Booking was straight forward and easy to navigate. Details of the itinerary were very accurate. Day began with an early morning pick up at a pre arranged hotel. We were picked up by a very bubbly tour guide/driver called Irene. She was very informative and quite witty. During the tour she shared with the group some very interesting details. First stop was Sydney Zoo. We were treated to some excellent didgeridoo skills by one of the zoo's guides. We had a break for lunch in Leura, the onto Katoomba for pictures of the breathtaking Three Sisters spectacle, along with stunning views across the valley. Return to Sydney was via a ferry trip from the Olympic Park to Circular Quay. ( at your own expense ). All in all a great day out.

Great one day tour in a very comfortable bus!
Trip was exactly as advertised with our amazing driver and guide James! Got to learn so much about the Bass straits and the early expeditions over to this part of Australia. We got to see Koala's in their natural habitat at various locations as well as Kangaroos. Melba Gully was such a beautiful location, a rain forest where you could spend hours really but we didn't have time on our side as this tour fits in so much for a one day tour. Can't recommend Sightseeing Tours Australia enough, the bus we were on was distinctively better than all the other tours we saw on the day at each stop and we were really well looked after by James. Thank you for this amazing glimpse into Victoria. Hope to be back again soon.

No Koala Encounter, couldn't ride train or cable car to rainforest floor due to wait times. Expensive tour to see mtns.
A total waste. Company doesn't allow enough time at stops if crowds are there, and they will be, to do the things promised

4 day Ayers Rock and Red Center - Would highly recommend
Went on the 4 day Ayars Rock and Red Center Premium Camping tour. Great trip! Would highly recommend. Had Scott as a guide, he did excellent! Had a thorough knowledge, was very efficient, nice and funny. Would definitely recommend him as a guide. We saw many beautiful places and learned a lot. Tried both sleeping in tents and in swags, both were very nice. Would definitely recommend trying the swags as this included the most beautiful starry sky. Dinner was very good. Camping place were nice, with nice facilities. Only downside was that breakfast and lunch was the same everyday. Could be improved by including variations.

My wife and I (we are from the US) concluded what had been a wonderful trip to Australia by flying from Sydney to Melbourne to visit Philip Island with the specific purpose of seeing the Penguin Parade. We paid for an upgraded tour providing for better viewing with Sight Seeing Tours Australia (SST) two months in advance. To do this we also incurred approximately $500 in plane ticket and hotel costs. During (yes!) the tour we received a call from an SST representative advising that the upgraded tickets had not been secured. The fault was placed on the venue's computers being down. Obviously, SST had waited until the day of our tour to procure the tickets. In fairness, SST offered to reimburse us for that portion of the tour for the upgraded seating. Given the disappointment, effort, and expense, I felt a full refund was warranted. After a follow up phone call I reluctantly agreed to a resolution where one of the two tours was fully refunded. I relayed that despite the agreement I was going to make a post about the experience. A first for me. The SST representative indicated that there was no problem with that. A week later, SST emailed a release of claims containing confidentiality and non-disparagement provisions which had to be executed in exchange for the settlement refund. This was a change/new conditions to which I had not agreed. I called SST on this and made a counter proposal. SST declined and questioned my motives in an unfortunate and unprofessional response. I do not care about the refund money as it is nominal. What does trouble me is SST's overall handling of the matter from its failure to live up to its sales promise to accusations of bad faith on my part when it unilaterally changed an unsatisfactory resolution for a customer that it aggrieved. This company is unreliable and lacks integrity. I suggest other tour companies be given an opportunity to meet your travel needs.

We take full responsibility for failing to provide you guys with your upgraded seating option. As discussed, it was an error in a process and something that we have changed to prevent further disappointment. We refunded the upgrade and offered you both a 50% tour refund, I still believe that to be a adequate compensation since you got to undertake the tour and attend the penguin parade, all be it you didn't get your preferred seating. To insist on us refunding the tour in full, covering your flights and hotel costs, is not something we can entertain. I really hope you enjoyed your tour even without your preferred seating, the penguins are an amazing experience. Regards Cameron

Cameron was a fantastic guide. Some of the people on the bus wanted to listen to a song on YouTube and he accommodated which led to a great sing a long. He was very knowledgeable about all the animals we visited and gave us lots of time at each stop. The bus was very comfortable and the itinerary was great. A very good outing.

Bus late , then late for new time they made due to flat tyre . Driver told everyone or to chat challenged anyone who did to see how hard it was to do his job. Facts given such a a koala has a pouch on their back sums up his talking . Forgot to drop passengers early to penguin keeper talk , dropped us to Nobbys beach left us in cold didn’t tell us then went and dropped others off . Talked none stop forced conversation and causes offense . Could go on and on would not hook this day tour hire a car

The trip got off to an awkward start, as we boarded the bus and numerous rows were filled with single travelers so my wife and I had to ask people to move so we could sit together (im contrast to Go West who makessure couples and families sit together). Once we got going, our driver didn’t say much (or even tell us his name) and we could barely hear anything through the speakers. He had zero enthusiasm. Also, their buses seat 39 when most of the other companies have smaller buses seating 24 for a more private tour.

We saw all the stops at Phillips Island but only spent about 10 minutes at the Nobbies, which easily should he a 30 minute-1 hour stop. We instead spent too much time at a beach with a closed kiosk and nothing to do when the itinerary said this stop was only time permitting (we clearly didn’t have time).

The best part of the tour was the private ranger tour of the penguins, which this company had nothing to do with.

I’d stay away from this company and choose Go West instead.

Hi, Definitely not the start of the tour that you would be hoping for. I have sent a reminder out to all my guides this morning, that they should assist couples to sit together. I understand that asking other passengers to move seats, as you have written, is a little awkward. Without getting your name or booking number I am unsure who your driver/guide was, but all I can say is that our guides normally receive great feedback and it would be usual of them not to interact with our customers in a positive way. Our stop at the Nobbie's is scheduled for 30-45 minutes so this is something I really want to follow up. Can you please email our office reservations@ssta.com.au asking for the email to be forward to me, Cameron. I can then follow up with you to get more details. Some people prefer smaller groups, some people prefer the added comfort of a coach. Our buses are a little larger but due to the long distances covered in Australia when doing tours, the extra room of a coach is normally welcomed. I hope to hear from you soon.

When booking the trip somehow the date selected was changed after putting it in the cart and the wrong date was booked. I immediately sent an email and tried to contact the company to change it. The following day Saturday I received a phone call stating they couldn’t change my booking (48 hours) and that since it was within 7 days (for the following Saturday) I would be charged 25% of my trip. Seriously? Within minutes of receiving the confirmation and realizing it was wrong I notified them and for the following Saturday? The least they could’ve done was refund all my money since they couldn’t make changes because the trip we wanted was within the 48 hour window. The lady I spoke with was not nice nor did she care about my situation. We went with another tour company and it was amazing!

Hi Jennifer, Not the kind of customer service that we want to deliver. I have found your booking and refunded the remaining 25%. You have now been refunded in full. This example will be put in focus at our reservations meeting this week and we will do better moving forward. Regards Cameron

Honestly I feel like the tour was planned poorly. The penguin parade in the evening was awesome and we arrived quite right for that, the tips from the guide for where the view is best (and where to get good dinner before) were good, but could have been clearer.
But other than that the time was just not enough. We spend an hour at the animal sanctuary, but we had to get in there and find our way back to the bus, so it was really just half an hour which was just not enough. I feel like an hour longer would have been a relaxed time there, but at least half an hour more would be necessary to not be a stressful rush. For dinner I'm not completely sure - the tourguide made it seem like it is very little time so I was feeling very rushed but then arrived back early - here most people were on time, but if the guides feel its not enough time and many people are late maybe just give more time...
The tour started at 13o clock and I just feel like it would have been way more relaxed and way better if it had started at 11. So my conclusion would be: great tour, lacking timing, look elsewhere for a tour that starts earlier and gives you more time for the stations, you wont regret it, even if its a few bucks more...

We had a great day, pick up was easy with a few different pick up locations offered across the city. Dave was an awesome tour guide and made sure everyone was comfortable, happy and enjoying the day. We stopped at Moonlit Sanctuary, a beautiful surf beach, Cowes for dinner and then the Nobbies and the penguin parade. Very enjoyable!

One of my favorite day trips in Melbourne! Our guide Cameron was amazing - kept the group on track with time and did a wonderful job telling us about all the wildlife. We also got to feed the kangaroos and wallabies at the wildlife sanctuary which was once in a lifetime. I highly recommend doing this tour!

Hi drmakku, Thank you for your review. I'm really sorry to hear the bus wasn't up to standard and the driver wasn't engaging or informative enough. I would like to know when you travelled to check out the particular bus you were on that day. Would you be so kind as to email us (reservations@ssta.com.au) with your reservation number? Looking forward to hearing from you. Kind regards, Crissy
