      Best day of my life!
We had the most wonderful day with Rick's tours. Our tour guide Melanie was fantastic, my partner proposed and Melanie helped him choose the perfect spot at Tokar winery and kept everything under wrap so well. The tour is lovely and the chocl tasting was delicious

      Avoid them!
They cancelled our tour at the last minute. As you can see in the email, they sent us an email at 840am while the gather time was at 9am. We had to rearrange our itinerary. If you want to have a good time in Australia, avoid Rick's Tour!

      Best Winery tour!!
What an INCREDIBLE experience. Our driver Andrew was amazing!! I couldn’t recommend him more, he took photos, kept our entire hens party of 16 on track and was a total vibe!! The bus was pumping and the wineries that Rick and Mel helped me choose were so beautiful and the perfect places to enjoy our day. I could not fault anything and would suggests Ricks to anyone I know looking to do a tour.

A very happy birthday - Yarra Valley wine tour!!
I booked a private wine tour of the Yarra Valley for my special birthday to share with 8 of my friends and family. Rick was incredibly helpful and accommodating and ensured I had a wonderful birthday. Our tour guide, Melanie, was really friendly and we couldn't have asked for a better day.

      Amazing trip
David is an amazing guide. He showed us around the mansion then we had extra hour to explore around by ourselves. Plenty of time to wonder around the Zoo and good driving to and from the city.

Dirk was very friendly, informative and helpful .
Day started of with some fruit and preserves at a local farm - very tasty
Followed by three wineries totalling 12 samples
Plus a free bottle of good quality wine each - you could choose from any of the 4 samples

all of the wines were good quality and tasty

We opted for all inclusive which had a very tasty lunch - choice of baramundi, chicken, beef or pasta _- all tasty

After that a healthy sampling of 4 wine cask infused gins - very palatable !!

Then on to a chocolaterie - again wonderful samples.

Heading back home one of the party asked if we could see any kangaroos - we all agreed to a detour - excellent seeing Kangaroos in the wild.

Spot on value for money and I would gully recommend

The day was really well paced and planned out, never hurried but never sitting around waiting. Rick does a brilliant job of driving and hosting, explaining the history of Melbourne and pointing out animals along the scenic drive out to Yarra Valley. The fruit tasting is a great start, supporting a local family business and really tasty produce, then we had wine in hand by 10:30. None of the wineries was crowded with groups, the people guiding each tasting were excellent, and all of them knew Rick - you can tell Rick's Tours has strong relationships with all the destinations. Rick's tips to get the most out of each tasting were really helpful, including viewpoints and the art gallery. Lunch was delicious, with choices of beef, fish, chicken or vegetarian. Finishing off with the chocolaterie was a lovely dessert. Would recommend!

A Perfect Day in the Yarra Valley with Rick’s Tours!

    ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

If you’re looking for an unforgettable wine and food experience in the Yarra Valley, look no further than Rick’s Tours! From start to finish, our full-day tour exceeded every expectation.

Rick’s passion for the region, its wines, and its gourmet offerings shines through every moment of the tour. We visited a variety of wineries, each offering unique, high-quality wines. Rick’s knowledge of the region is impressive, and he made sure to tailor the experience to our tastes, ensuring we got the most out of each stop.

From artisanal cheeses and exceptional fruit, to a gourmet lunch and chocolate to die for, everything was fresh and delicious. Rick had personal relationships with many of the owners and winemakers, making each stop feel intimate and special.

What sets this tour apart is Rick himself. His warm personality, humor, and local insights made the day not only informative but fun and relaxed. He kept the group small, which made for a personalized and intimate experience.

I can’t recommend Rick’s Tours enough. Whether you’re a wine connoisseur or just looking to enjoy a day of indulgence, this tour is a must-do when visiting the Yarra Valley. We left with full hearts, full bellies, and a few bottles of incredible wine to remember the day!

    Bravo, Rick! 👏🍷

We were very excited for this tour, but it was a disappointing day! To start with, the driver arrived late and their driving did not instil confidence (cutting people off in traffic, overshooting the driveway of the wineries, bad mouthing cyclists), plus they didn’t seem to know what was going on (took us to winery and art gallery that were both closed).
The was an incredible amount of miscommunication, everyone had a different description of the itinerary (example: half the tour group was told to arrive by 9am, the others by 9:30am. We all paid the same price for the tour yet some people on our tour had to pay for the gin tasting, others were refunded). Most things promised in booking description were not included (we had to make a fuss at the end of the tour to even get our bottle of wine).
I have been on other wine tours that cost less and were much higher quality, I would not recommend this tour!

Hi Amy, Thank you for taking the time to write this review. I can see you are frustrated by your experience. Allow me to provide some context for you and for other readers. 1 - Closed venue - St Huberts Cellar Door and Hubert's Art Gallery closed last minute due to a power outage and could not inform us in time. We had booked your tour for a 10:45am tasting. We were not told about the closure. We only found out about it when your driver showed up on the day. Your driver was not at fault. 2 - Miscommunication - some people had booked via TripAdvisor which had incorrect information on their listing. This has now been rectified. However this is a risk that you take when you do not book direct with businesses... sometimes information is not current. We try our best to ensure all our online communication is up-to-date. 3 - Refunds - no refunds were given for your tour. I am unsure what you mean by this statement. In fact, Mel (our amazing bookings expert) arranged for bottles of wine for each person at Helen & Joey so then no one missed out on taking a bottle of wine home. There was no "fuss at the end of the day" that I was aware of and it definately was not reported in the end of tour report. 4 - Pick up time - Our departure time is 9:30 am. Our buses arrive at 9:00 am. This allows guest to meet their driver between 9 and 9:30 am. The 9:30 am pick up that you refer to was also on TripAdvisor with the incorrect information. This has now been rectified. 5 - Gin tastings - are not included in the tour price. This is clearly stated on our website. We did not pay for anyones gin tasting on the day. 6 - Everything expect the art gallery was included on the tour. This is due to the art gallery being closed. We also clearly state that the itinerary may change due to unforeseen circumstances. Sometimes there is nothing we can do. I apologise for this. 7 - Driver arriving late - Melbourne has more than 5 million people living there with more than 450,000 people working in the CDB. That's a lot of people on the road at the same time. Our drivers try their best to ensure they arrive on time however sometimes things happen that cause them to be late. In this instance there was a car accident on the freeway which caused a delay in the arrival time. We understand your frustration but we do put safety above all. We instruct our drivers to be mindful of their safety just as much as the guests. Again I would like to thank you for taking the time to write this. I can clearly see how upset you are. I hope my response provides you with some clarification to the experience - if not you can give me a call on 1300 306 805 to discuss it more as I do not ever want someone to have a bad experience - that is not our business.

We had a great day on the Yarra Valley Wine Tour! Rick was the tour guide on our excursion and shared loads of interesting stories about the history of Melbourne and wineries in the area. The Cellar doors we visited were really nice and we had a lovely lunch included in the price. We’d say this was really good value for money given the fruit tasting in the morning, 12x different wines to taste through the day, a nice lunch, a chocolate tasting experience, and a bus tour around the Yarra Valley! The tour is kept interactive and fun throughout including Photo Bingo including a prize and optional gin tasting. Would defo recommend!

Anyone staying in Melbourne should aim to spend a day out of the city at least once - this is the perfect way to do it.
Rick was a perfect host - entertaining, interesting and informative - as he took us out to the beautiful Yarra Valley for a trip that included extensive tastings at two wineries (including a free bottle of wine at the first and an excellent lunch at the second) and a further tasting of 12 chocolates at the Yarra Valley Chocolaterie. For cheese fans, there was also a stop at a dairy farm shop.
Rick provided the right level of commentary on a journey that also gives you a chance to do a bit of local wildlife spotting. It was an excellent way to spend a day.

    What a day!!

Rick was a fabulous tour guide and his knowledge of the local area and wildlife was incredible.

We tasted fabulous wines, cheeses and chocolates alongside a marvellous lunch and bottle of wine to take home.

Before heading back to the city we went kangaroo hunting and found a whole load out in the wild.

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for a great day out 🌟

We had an amazing time exploring the Yarra Valley with Rick! His knowledge of the area was impressive; he not only took us to the best vineyards but also shared fascinating stories about Melbourne’s origins and wine-making history. He’s a friendly and laid back guide, and we had lots of laughs with him. Highly recommend this trip for anyone looking to explore Yarra Valley and try some of the best wineries in the region.

I went on the Werribee tour and had a great time. I then decided to go on the Yarra Valley tour and had a ball! I was lucky and had Rick as my guide for a second time. We explored the Yarra Valley in its entirety, including a fruit tasting at a strawberry farm, followed by three wine tastings at two different wineries. We had lunch included with a glass of wine and chips which were shared. After lunch, I did the gin tasting, and I got to try four different types of chins for an extra fee. Finish the day at the chocolate Factory with a guided chocolate tasting. We stopped on the way home to see some kangaroos. The group was really friendly and welcoming as I was a solo traveler. I would highly recommend Rick to Australia to anybody who is visiting Melbourne. I’m looking forward to new tours that they are implementing in the not distant future. I will definitely be back 10 out of 10.

Rick and Bernie were the most knowledgeable and friendly guides we have met.
It wasn’t the best of weather and one of the wineries actually got flooded. Thanks to Rick’s swift connection, we were able to visit another reputable winery at a short notice.
We really had a great time and would recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in knowing about the Yarra Valley wines and having a delicious lunch.
Fresh fruit and produces at the Yarra Fresh Farm and chocolate tasting at the chocolatier were also enjoyable.
