About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Q2182OEdavidr0 contributionsAn outstanding tour. A must in Melbourne. One of the best tours I've ever done. Ben was tremendous, providing such fun, concise & engaging info. The structure of how it was organised was brilliant, as is the sporting complex. Even if you aren't a sports fan you can learn and feel the significance of where you walk around. Such a shame the weather was so bad that I couldn't have a hit on an Australian Open court 🥲 but as was the organisation that we still managed some tennis indoors. 10/10.Written 13 November 2024
- sonjakF1471QZ0 contributionsAmazing tour for tennis loversThe tour with Ben was amazing. He mixed a lot of personal stories into the facts. That made it really special. Furthermore, we enjoyed also taking some photos in front of the Melbourne court. As a tennis player it is special to save this as a memory. I found it very interesting that everyone can book any time (excluding Australian Open phase and preparation) the courts of Melbourne Park for less money. Just have a look at tennisworld. In addition to tennis sports we learned a lot about Aborigines in sports, Australian football and cricket.Written 12 November 2024

Having worked at the Australian Open for a number years she was able to share many special details about the tennis complex, its history, and a number of the very famous players. She also was able to share information about other tourist activities in the area as well as transportation options. A very well organized and executed travel experience for my son and I.Written 31 October 2024

- familyzed0 contributionsIT'S AN ACE OF A TOURWe met our tour guide Catherine at a pre-determined time at Federation Square near Princess Bridge. After a very welcoming greeting from her and exchanging names and where we were from our sports walking tour began. Our 1st stop was on Princess Bridge where Catherine gave us informative information about the history of Melbourne. It was clear to see and hear that she knew her history and was extremely passionate about being a "Melburnian". We proceeded down Birrarung Marr along the Yarra walkway with frequent stops along the way where Catherine explained in detail the history about Melbourne. Upon reaching Melbourne Park (MP) her sporting knowledge was first class. She explained to us the various arena's at MP (Rod Laver, Margaret Court, Kia & John Cain) and showed us all the outdoor courts where the Aussie Open (AO) is played in January. We stopped at Garden Square where all the head statues of Aussie tennis legends have been cast in bronze. We then walked through the Melbourne Park precinct and looked inside Kia Arena. Unfortunately there was an event taking place inside Rod Laver arena so we were unable to see inside this arena. After walking around to the front of John Cain arena Catherine reached into her tennis bag and produced an "Aussie rules" football for us to pass/kick around. This wasn't her only surprise as she then produced and showed us a Marn-Grook ball which was a possum skin ball, thought to be the origin of Aussie Rules footy. We then made our way to one of the outdoor hard courts where the AO players play on and had a hit of tennis. We didn't need to supply any racquets and balls as she had it all. We then made our way to the MCG (or the "G") and walked around the outside of the ground. Once again Catherine's sporting knowledge and history "kicked a goal" as it was impeccable. To cap off a magnificent tour we then caught a Melbourne Tram back down to our meeting place. I loved her humour, was extremely knowledgeable and was an excellent guide. This is a tour YOU SHOULD DO and hope that CATHERINE IS YOUR TOUR GUIDE as you won't be disappointed.Written 23 October 2024
- 163riteshb0 contributionsEasily the best tour I've been to - Thanks Ben!My wife surprised me this one given my extreme passion for the sport of Lawn Tennis. And it turned out to be aasily the best tour I've ever been to. Ben surpassed my passion for tennis and clearly articulated the wonderful and rich Australian Tennis history. He was courteous, knowledgeable and passionate. The tennis session in one of the Australian courts was an icing on the cake. Loved exploring the Tennis compound with Ben and if I'm ever again in Australia, I'd love a repeat of the tour. Thanks Ben.Written 20 October 2024

Ben was an excellent tour guide, and this was an all-around fantastic tour! He was prompt with timing, answered all questions, and even showed us the best spots to snap pictures. He described himself as a "sports nerd" and I would agree in the best and most endearing way possible!! It was evident that he was incredibly experienced and knowledgeable and was able to give us so many fun facts while on the tour. Was definitely interesting for the sports lover, but even just for people wanting to learn more about Melbourne. Well worth the money as you also receive entry to MCG, the Sports Museum, or AOT! Highly recommend!
