About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- CharlotteB07120 contributionsExcellent in every way!HIGHLY recommend! One of the best tours we've had! Paul was great full of stories, facts and local knowledge! Nothing was too much hassle and knew all the secret places to visit and stop at. He was punctual and passionate the entire way through. We spent two days with him and cannot recommend him and his team enough! We will 100% book with him again next time and wouldn't consider going to anyone else.Written 13 March 2024
- EBrining0 contributionsGreat Ocean Road tourA really well paced day with multiple stops of interest and sociable, engaged tour guide. The Twelve Apostles coastline is the highlight. Walking boots recommended.Written 9 January 2024
- blosso19600 contributionsGirls GetawayPaul was a interesting and entertaining host and we had a wonderful trip. The small group tour was a great way to go and many laughs were had. The penguins were well worth the time money and effort an was the nature park even for us Aussies. We thoroughly recommend this tour thanks so much Paul for your getting us home safely we appreciate the time and effort you have to put in to make it such a wonderful trip.Written 18 March 2023
- Q7091JPdebbieh0 contributionsDisappointedGet a better tour guide. Someone who has a sense of humour. Does not risk the lives of his passengers to make his time to be back. Drove like a manic coming home. He wasn't so worried when he picked me up 45 minutes late. More time given to actually see the penguins. Penguins didn't come out and start to walk up our path until 9pm and we were to be back at the bus at 9:30. The whole purpose of this trip was to see the Parade of the Penguins. Would have liked time to watch them nest on the other side of the bridge. I made a joke about going to a bar and seeing a drag queen contest after and he took me serious and told me he'd drop me off because this was not a private tour. If this wasn't a private tour why did a man ask if we could go to the raceway. We went and heard all this boring stuff and I can guarantee you that at least 80% of that bus load of people could have cared less. That wasn't on the agenda but it interested the guide so we went. I was late getting back to the bus because I had to go to the bathroom and then get a ride with the buggy which took time. I even cut my viewing of the penguins short so I could do this. It was a long walk to bathroom as I'm disabled and I had to wait until the cart was empty she could pick me up. I wasn't the only patron needing a ride that night. From now on I will only travel with GO WEST. They treated me with dignity and compassion and even made an unplanned stop on the way home with no problem. When I write my book I will certainly make sure to tell people to stay away from your tour company.Written 18 February 2023
- C79-Family0 contributionsGood overview of MelbourneWe did a custom Discover Melbourne Tour with 3 couples. Our guide was very knowledgeable and personable - showed us around Melbourne via van with a lot of historical commentary and time to chat/ask questions. We also had the opportunity to get out and get a view of the bay (with photo-op), the market (would have liked to stop and get a tasty item, but no time), and the Shrine of RemembranceWritten 8 February 2023

- MadeleineLM0 contributionsAmazing experience and excellent guide!Really incredible experience. Paul was an amazing guide and took the time to chat to everyone on the tour individually and thank everyone sincerely for coming. The sanctuary on Phillip Island was an amazing experience. Every native Australian animal you could want to see all in one. Loads of kangaroos that come right up to you, and Paul personally guided us around the sanctuary and provided interesting facts and commentary. Cowes is a lovely town and Paul gave us a short tour and provided dinner suggestions. Penguins were very cool as well, and the beach was beautiful so it was very enjoyable to sit and wait for them to come out of the water. Highly recommend!Written 15 November 2022
- Lam W0 contributionsAwesome tour guide. Must visit for animal loversThe ride to Philip island was long. But Paul our guide managed to fill it with lots of funny stories and wonderful character. It was wonderful to get up close with the animals at the sanctuary. The pit stop dinner town was very scenic as well. And the highlight penguin parade was worth the drive. Beautiful new facility built. Nice to just have a coffee in there first. Then watching the penguins against the beautiful southern coast. Once in a life time. P.S. it gets cold. Bring the ride clothing.Written 3 November 2022
- KevinMatt0 contributionsGreat day, Enhanced by Paul our guideReally enjoyed our day trip from Melbourne to Philip Island Penguin Parade. Picked up, on time, in an executive style minibus. Only takes 11 passengers so very small group which made for a much better trip. Visited Philip Island Wildlife park where we spent a couple of hours seeing, and feeding, kangaroos, wallabies, wombats and a variety if other native animals and birds. Despite the rain we gad a lively time there. The highlight of the trip was the penguin parade which was amazing as about a thousand blue penguins emerge from the sea and waddle their way back to their burrows. On our way back to the main building you got even closer to the penguins as theh continued their journey alongside the walkway only about 6 feet from us. The whole experience was made so much mire enjoyable by Paul, our guide. Paul went out of his way to help a young couple who had booked with a rival company, when he didn't really need to. He gave a running commentary about Melbourne history and the wildlife we encountered. Also making detours to show us places of interest. Paul has a great sense of humour and maintained this despite having one demanding client. Great value for money and very enjoyable dayWritten 31 October 2022

- emhtravelfood0 contributionsWow Sooo Much Post-Covid Fun!Sometimes the journey is almost as much fun as the destination, and that was definitely our experience on this tour! My husband and I are from California and weren't sure what to expect with this small group tour, but Paul, our driver/guide, made sure we were entertained every step of the way. We loved our first official stop at the Wildlife Sanctuary which is located on the same island as the penguins, Philip Island. It was fun hand feeding all of the kangaroos, emus and wallabies, but we were also really impressed that Paul didn't just dump us off to wander around aimlessly by ourselves. Instead, he went into the sanctuary with us and gave us a personal tour of the whole habitat which really added to our experience. it occurred to us that Paul must have done this tour many times but you would never know it -- he seemed to enjoy the animals just as much as we did! He also had a lot of knowledge about the penguins and how the penguin parade operated post-Covid, which we also appreciated. And, like the other reviews said, the penguins are really incredible and not to be missed, even when it starts pouring rain! The rain didn't bother the penguins, and it actually made for an interesting slip and slide parade, with cooing and calling to dens the whole way. Really different and fun. Paul answered all of our penguin questions and even gave us a star gazing lesson at the end once the clouds parted. Then the whole way back to Melbourne Paul offered us interesting insights into Australian life and culture -- by the time we got back to our hotel we felt like we'd made a new friend. All around an A+ experience for me and my husband. Thanks for being such a great mate, Paul!Written 10 September 2022
- hofeiy0 contributionsA remarkable experienceThis tour was extremely enjoyable and educational. I have assimilated a vast amount of knowledge and the experience has left me viewing Australia in a new light. The 12 Apostles were breathtaking, and spotting koalas was a delightful activity. Paul the tour guide was really informative and humorous; he took everything to the next level. I strongly recommend this experience.Written 9 August 2022
- yogeshsS532AA0 contributionsA must-do tour!!Highly recommended! Paul was very personable and friendly and a fantastic tour guide! Started off the morning with watching pelican feedings and great food options at San Remo for lunch. The free range nature park and getting to hand feed kangaroos, wallabies, emus and being able to see so much wildlife (including koalas!) was an amazing experience. Paul also had great tips to make the most of the penguin parade experience which was truly unforgettable!Written 31 July 2022

There were 8 of us on this 13.5 hour epic day. We were met promptly at the designated meeting place and Paul, the owner was a great host who obviously loves his job and country.
The van was very comfortable and our group was a good mix of young to older.
The weather was amazing (not too hot) for touring and no crowds to be seen as the coronavirus had effectively kept the huge tour buses away.
Great touches of morning tea and the personalized service throughout the tour makes this day a must do tour.
Thank you Paul!

After a year lockdown in Melbourne, finally my friend and I had a chance to book this trip and explore the great ocean road. This is definitely the greatest decision because we had such a enjoyable day with so many interesting stories and surprises! We are so glad that we can have chance to know more history of Australia and be able to meet Kangaroo, Koala, Australian King-Parrots and even some special plants and animals. Paul is very considerate. He arranged couple chances for us to take a coffee break and go to the toilet. He gave us sufficient time to explore the view at each stop. He always brought umbrella for us because the weather was a bit funny. We cannot explain how much we enjoy in this tour, but we will definitely recommend anyone who want to visit the great ocean roads to join this tour!! I hope I can have chance to visit another places with Paul soon when the situation is getting better!

Great way to see the great ocean road and 12 apostles. Tours are small and the transport is extremely comfortable. Paul was very informative and went above and beyond for everyone, really knows his stuff and had some great stories.
The day flew with plenty of stops and different places to see, the koala spotting and Loch ard gorge were my two favourites!
Also the anzac biscuits his wife makes are delicious!

This was an enjoyable trip down the Great Ocean Road. We saw a lot of the sights and learned some of the interesting history of this region.
The tour included morning tea, and a lovely lunch. Although this was such a long tour I felt that the pace was relaxed, and I didn't feel rushed.
Paul was an excellent driver and also gave us some historical background without overloading us with history. I found his commentary really interesting. He also took a lot of care of passengers, to make sure we were comfortable. It was nice to travel in a small group as Paul was able to give us individual attention.
The coach was immaculately clean, and hand sanitiser was available. We were also required to wear masks in the coach and other indoor areas in accordance with current regulations for Covid 19.

We were lucky to do this tour, because we booked really late and amid the turbulence in the world at the time.
Our tour guide Paul is great! He has so much knowledge, I learned a lot about Australian history, wildlife and even business during this tour. And a great sense of humor!
The tour bus was really comfortable to ride in with spacious seats and small group, and we got picked up at our hotel early in the morning, much preferred.
We got enough time at each spot to take photos and enjoy the scenery. At one spot, after taking photos, we just sat down for thirty minutes and relaxed for a while. So there was never any need to rush.
The small town we stopped at for lunch has many small shops to browse. The actual lunch, crepes in our case, was delicious.
Thank you!

Paul was an excellent tour guide, by
thoroughly guiding us throughout all the scenic places. We had been picked up at our hotel at Therry St, and Paul had given us a warm welcome, and entertained us with excellent commentary, that was also informative. The bathroom breaks, morning tea and stops to take photos was carefully arranged as it was ample time to take photos and explore at the scenic stops. He was very flexible and communicative as he had also taken into consideration that my wife had a partial disability, and had communicated which parts of the tour would be suitable for her. This tour was just extraordinary and beautiful, and was enhanced by Paul’s hard work and excellent commentary regarding aussie history!

I had an amazing one-day vacation with the Great Ocean Road tour. I booked the tour for a weekday, and got in.
Paul is simply awesome! He organized the trip well, and communicated about the expectations in advance. That helped. Throughout the tour, he kept telling interesting stories about Melbourne and areas nearby. It was fun to know about the history from him. And he is so easy to talk with - on any topic! Coming out of the lockdown, it was really great to be able to have a long conversation with someone (in-person) after such a long time. I had fun. Moreover, he told me about the area's wildlife, geological history etc. during the tour, which made it worthwhile. So, thank you, Paul!
The tour itself was comfortably paced: I had enough and more time at each location to enjoy it and click photos. But that was a rather hot day, so I myself asked him to rush a couple of times. Still, we could spend a great number of hours outdoors!
Lunch in a nice restaurant in Apollo Bay was tasty and sumptuous. The place itself is scenic. So, you can enjoy your lunch as well as the scenery. I intend to take this trip again with my family soon.
Thank you Paul!

Many thanks for joining us. It was a pleasure meeting you and most importantly we are delighted you enjoyed the day. It's a fabulous time to see the Great Ocean Road as there are very few people at the moment and our early start really provides an atmosphere of tranquility on the coast in the morning light!
All the best with your very intense studies and we do thank you so much for your support. It is very important for family owned tour operators like ourselves who strive to offer that extra level of service at this very difficult time.
