- laiw8030 contributionsA Great Day On The Great Ocean Road With JamesMany thanks to James who took us on the Great Ocean Road trip. James had ensured comprehensive coverage of the scenic spots and peppered the trip with interesting background information along the way. James had also helped to take some of the best pictures for our trip, making our trip in Melbourne a most memorable one! We strongly recommend James' 5-star excellent service! - SingaporeSusan880 contributionsComprehensive Private TourThe Great Ocean Road is really a must visit. We almost dropped it off our list as one of our group wanted to visit a wildlife park instead. But so glad to choose to take a tour down here. The wildlife is great here as well and feels more natural. Our guide James managed to find a koala in the wild. Now that was an experience, which apparently might not be possible in decades to come due to their dwindling numbers. So sad :(Written 23 November 2023
- V2177JAmarkg0 contributionsGreat tripAs a couple there were so many positives, the driver, accommodation, sights, meals, and the company of fellow passengers, there is no way to put a dollar value on that.Written 18 October 2023
- KenJoe220 contributionsGreat Ocean Road TourWent on the Great Ocean Road Tour today with our guide, Mark. It was an early morning 1 day trip and well worth it. Mark was very knowledgeable and friendly. We really appreciated the history of each location we visited. He was also very precise and detailed about each stop. We appreciated the coffee/tea and snack provided too! We highly recommend, as the coastline is spectacular!Written 29 May 2023
- J6699TZpaular0 contributionsLooking for a fantastic tour, choose Great Ocean Road Tours. We saw wildlife in abundance & incredible natural beauty. My husband & I took the private Great Ocean Road tour with James, it was everything we wanted and more. James was thoroughly knowledgeable, very personable and professional. Being a private tour he gave us options & asked what we were most interested in. I would use the tour company again in a heartbeat.Written 20 May 2023
- closestexit0 contributionsThe high point of my trip to Australia! My friend and I booked a custom 3-day tour that allowed us to experience the Great Ocean Road and Grampians National Park. Our guide James made sure we got to see all the highlights. He was extremely knowledgeable and we learned a lot about the beautiful scenery and trails as well as life in Australia in general. We appreciated the care James took to set expectations when recommending lodging and places for meals which were always excellent. I got to experience many things during my time in Australia but the tour with James was the high point for me. Would highly recommend this company.Written 18 December 2022
- josephineo2650 contributionsWonderful 2 day tour on the great ocean roadWe thoroughly enjoyed our 2 day tour on the great Ocean Road! James is the perfect guide. Having driven on this route so frequently, he was able to provide little nuggets of information throughout the trip. The stops were so well planned, we did not feel rushed and this is how trip should be like. The vehicle is also clean and new. Highly recommended to anyone who would like to take a tour on the Great Ocean Road.Written 7 December 2022
- 629valj0 contributionsBucket List - tick tick tickReally top notch tour with Stuart. Initial (detailed) discussion with James as we were quite particular about what we wanted to see. Everything was ticked off our list, plus some places we weren't expecting but equally as beautiful. Magic tour. Perfect for a couple. Must do.Written 17 August 2022
- ezpzylemonsqueezey0 contributionsHighly RecommendedWe did this as a shore excursion from Melbourne. We had a full day available as we were trasniting via the spirit of tasmania, so we were able to squeeze in a 12 hour tour. This allowed us to cover much more in one day than if we were to have hired a car from the port and self-driven ourselves. Plus it took a lot of stress out of the day.Written 4 July 2022
- nicolasC2298GB0 contributionsGreat Private TourThe Great Ocean Road has been on our bucket list. And after having had our holiday to Australia postponed 5 times and delayed by almost 2 years, we thought, as it was our last place to visit on our 3 week holiday, that we would go all out and book a private tour! It really was truly memorable. The cost for my husband and I wasn't over-excessive (around $800 Australian) and we were delivered an A1 tour. James, who was our driver as well as our guide has lived on the road for a long time, so he knew the history and some of the interesting local stuff. The stress of hiring a car and having to do all that driving in one day - no way hooseeee! Do yourself a favour and do it in style - you won't regret it.Written 28 June 2022
- Itravel0ne0 contributionsSunset tour with GoWestWonderful experience. The sunset view is phenomenal. One can imagine the crowd pre-pandemic. Try go down to the little cove with the sandy beach. It’s another different experience. The guide is super friendly and informative.Written 31 May 2022
- Q1612QJmegans0 contributionsWish we had more timeWow. What a road. I had done a small bit of research before I choose to visit this area, I knew the 12 apostles was a must visit, but I wasn’t quite expecting all the bits inbetween. Our guide Michael was just the sweetest man and really looked after my mum (77) and the rest of our group. Always asking if we had everything we needed, well planned toilet stops, thoughtful little touches throughout the day. I think like most people though, we do wish we had spent longer and opted for a 2 day tour. Time and budget unfortunately did not allow for it. But, we will be back! Hopefully we can pick up from Michael where we left off.Written 10 February 2022
- K8803GAjennyw0 contributionsFlexibilityWe took a tour of the Great Ocean Road with this company, direct from Geelong, as at that time we couldn’t start the tour in Melbourne due to restrictions. The flexibility shown to fit in with our location, dietary requirements and interests was top notch. It was a real boutique experience and we didn’t feel rushed at any time. We particularly enjoyed the walk through the rainforest and the story behind why it was still standing, that James our guide, described to us.Written 10 October 2021
- jeffc0le0 contributionsWonderful experienceAwesome day out with old friends. Our guide James was great. Turned up on time, helped us decide the best places to go to, friendly and attentive throughout. He also helped one of our party who was feeling car sick. He even went and bought her some extra ginger tablets from the pharmacy.Written 26 September 2021

Smoothly run tour. Our guide made us feel at ease. It’s a curved road but he was a safe capable driver.
It was a simple process to book. Paid a small deposit to book the date out, and then we paid half way through the tour. No pressure for upfront payment, which we had from other tour operators. You soon learn what is more important to them the cash or the customer.
Staying overnight in Apollo Bay and waking up for sunrise of the local beach was magical.

Nothing short of perfection! I own my own tour company in far North Queensland, so I’m a hard one to please and always looking for ways a tour can be improved upon (what can I say, it’s in my DNA), but right from the off, these guys nailed it. Professional, efficient but at the same time fun and friendly. An excellent overall tour experience.
Sam was our guide on Day 1, and was really great with our group, but then due to a family emergency overnight, he had to be replaced by James. We were slightly disappointed to hear about the change of guide, as our group were getting along so well with Sam, but James turned out to be equally as good. And it was a seamless changeover. So much so that when James came to pick us up from our overnight accommodation in Apollo Bay, he had already been tipped off by Sam as to exactly what our preferred coffee order was. James showed up on the doorstep, on time with 4 individual takeaway coffee’s, for each member of our group, and a welcoming smile. He was also briefed of our group’s dynamics, including how to handle one of the more ‘difficult’ members of the group. Spoiler alert - it wasnt me!

We have just finished a great couple of days in the company of Stuart, who took us on a incredible journey over the 2 days. Never a dull moment. Scenery out of this world. We found stacks of wildlife. Meals were not included but he recommended some absolute gems along the way. And not the kind of ones we would have chosen - more hidden away ones - like a local seafood cafe hidden away down by the harbour front away from the masses of tourists. We would never have found it ourselves.
The highlight on day 1 was the kangaroo tour. The highlight of day 2 was the rainforest walk. In fact, we liked the first walk so much, he found the extra time to take us to a second rainforest. Almost equally as impressive.
Great service. Great tour. Big thumbs up.

My family took a overnight tour along the great ocean road. It was an unforgettable time along the coast helped somewhat by crystal clear blue skies. We particularly liked the 2 rainforests we visited. Absolutely beautiful.

I am glad it came through as relaxing. We do avoid the weekends and public holidays, as well as get on the road early to ensure we miss the the crowds. I believe this is what makes for a great tour. Its calming for you, but also for me as well :)
Warmest regards, James

We took 2 days of sightseeing along the great ocean road in the form of a private tour. One day would have just covered the coast, but with the extra day, we got off the main tourist road and discovered some truly beautiful forest areas. It all seemed hidden, so you really need the extra time, a good map, or in our case, a good tour guide who knows where he was going!

We loved this experience. 2 day is certainly the way to go. There is much more to see and do than we expected. We just thought it as a road with pretty views of the sea. Boy were we wrong !
Easy booking experience and James our guide was very accommodating, especially for my wife who needed regular rest room stops.
A great 2 days out on the Great Ocean Road.

We loved this tour. The 2 days gave us a bit of extra time to see the road and we felt less pressured with time. The scenery was jaw dropping. Everything was really well organised, including the breakfast, lunch and dinner venues, which were ultimately our decision as to where we ate, but we went with the recommendations and they were all extremely good. An easy five out of five.

All things being equal, one would fly to the other side of the world and find your relatives waiting for you, who would take you everywhere you wanted to go. This happens only rarely. In Victoria, the alternative is the private two-day Great Ocean Road Tour. There are many things to see. The 12 Apostles, despite being battered by incessant surf, remain upright. The Loch Ard, a sailing ship, was wrecked in the Loch Ard Gorge. Miraculously, two seafarers survived the boiling surf. The Great Ocean Road is Victoria's top tourist attraction, it's worth seeeing,
