- Mary A0 contributionsA Wonderful Street Eats TourThe Street Eats Tour with Martina was a fabulous smorgasbord of tasty Asian street food, eaten at little out-of-the-way places I'd never been to before. Martina has a wealth of knowledge about Melbourne and was a delightful host. I would highly recommend this tour to Melburnians and 'foreigners' alike.Written 11 March 2022
- Julia S0 contributionsA foodie's delightMartina runs a fantastic tour around Melbourne CBD, highlighting places we'd never think to try with absolutely delicious results! Would definitely recommend booking a tour next time you're in Melbourne.Written 14 February 2021
- Houseshiraz0 contributionsA shiraz or two at PJ'sWhen you've finished sightseeing in Southbank (which won't take long) I recommend a visit to P.J. O'Brien's, the Irish-themed eaterie on the ground floor. Always a highlight of my trips into the city, especially if Enid and Amy are among those on duty. Friendly, attentive, good for a giggle and, if you're very lucky, a song or two. Draught Guinness and Jameson's are as good as you would expect - the shiraz is pretty special, too.Written 13 June 2019
- grandmafraser0 contributionsGreat hostsMartina and Jane showed us great food and gave us lots of history of Melbourne. It was interesting to see the work street artists have done in tucked away corners of the city. We were also told of other tours available to us. Melbourne has so much historyWritten 29 March 2019
- RosalindV110 contributionsFoodies bucket listWow what an awesome experience Today. Tasted food from the best restaurants, learnt so much about the history of Melbourne and Monica our host was so passionate, fun and knowledgeable. Loved everything about the day.Written 13 February 2019

- fllglobetrotter0 contributionsA Delicious AfternoonWe did This is Melbourne’s Gourmet Walking Tour today. A fun filled and filling afternoon, where we seemingly circled the foodie globe in 3 hours of walking, talking and tasting, from Portuguese croquetas to Peruvian ceviche to Asian dumplings. All led by our guide Martina, who owns the company and is equal parts fun and very knowledgeable. We truly felt like we got a great history lesson and an “inside scoop” on some of the best places to eat and drink in this very food-centric city. Highly recommended.Written 7 December 2018
- A0312K0 contributionsHighly RecommendedAn outstanding tour that ticked all the boxes for what we wanted, being a mix of history and an insight into Melbourne's food culture. The walking gave us a great overview of the city, the guide took us through the history and sites of the town and the food delighted us along the way. The restaurant selection was perfect and the food tastings exceptional. We would never have found the back alley restaurants on our own. If your passion is food and you're not looking for large group tours where you race to keep up with the guide, then this is perfect. We've done walking food tours all over the world and this ranks with the best of them. Thank you for a memorable day. Highly recommended.Written 26 June 2018
- Pam S0 contributionsBest Melbourne experienceMy husband and I have had the best day with Martina - the food tour was amazing and took us to places we otherwise would not have gone... Martina was so knowledgeable and also told the history of Melbourne as we walked... She introduced us to some dishes we would not normally try and also to some ingredients used in different ways (I will now try eggplant again)... She was so engaging as were the staff in the restaurants she took us to... Aa it was a horrible day weather-wise it ended up being just my husband and I yet Martina continued with the tour and allowed us spend as long as we wanted in each venue... She showcased the history of Melbourne and shared lots of interesting facts... I would highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys good food and a different city experience... :) :)Written 16 June 2018
- Sista670 contributionsFeet, Food and FunI highly recommend this tour by Martina. Her bubbly personality, her welcoming smile and her knowledge of Melbourne City, the Buildings and Food is absolutely outstanding. We had a small group which was perfect and intimate. When visiting the café/restaurants, the employees were very helpful with what we were eating and how it was cooked. With so much to do and see on foot like the ACDC Lane with the beautiful graffiti, the 2.5 hour tour flew by. I will certainly do this tour again next time I visit Melbourne. Thank you Martina....Written 13 June 2018
- dgtsatas0 contributionsFoodie Bucket List TourBucket List Tour was a great way to spend a Monday with some girlfriends for a day out in the city. Our tour guide Martina was friendly and full of enthusiasm as she took us on an express tour off the main drag, through arcades, historic landmarks and quirky laneways that we had never explored before in hometown Melbourne. The dishes selected at each of the restaurants were delicious, my favourite being the dumplings at Supernormal. 5 stops, great food coupled with 2 lovely drinks, made for such a fun day out and home in time for the 3pm pick up. Perfect midweek treat for busy school mums. Big thanks MartinaWritten 25 March 2018

Our tour guide Martina was informative of both the history of Melbourne and of the food and restaurant culture. It was obvious she respected the restaurant owners as much as they respected her. The places Martina showed us were hidden gems and/or just outright known for their amazing food. For the price you pay, you get a tour guide second to none, who is informative, has a great inclusive, friendly personality, and makes every moment of this tour enjoyable. The food you sample on the tour was absolutely delicious. You leave this tour feeling well informed of the food culture of Melbourne, the best restaurants and grocers to try and very full. An absolutely enjoyable tour that we could not recommend highly enough.

Thank you so much for the amazing food tour throughout Melbourne's gorgeous laneways! My husband and I travel to Melbourne quite regularly, but having someone show us the hidden gems and tell us about the history of the city was great. Each stop/restaurant was a foodie delight and I highly recommend getting the drinks package - matching cocktails with each course was delicious (and also cost effective). Thanks to Martine and the team for such a fabulous day. We truly earned an afternoon nap!

Our guide was a local and grew up in Melbourne; her family has been in Melbourne for generations. Her passion for the history of the city and the food was infectious. Every tasting was delicious from chocolate to cheese to Peruvian dishes and pan Asian seafood to Spanish tapas to gelato. We visited many historic streets with street art and arcades with beautiful mosaics flooring and arched ceilings dating back from the mid to late 1800’s when the city was founded ex-English prisoners and gold rush prospectors and bordello madams. We travel and always like a food tour to learn about a locations. This food tour and guide made us passionate about Melbourne. We have eaten at every restaurant on the food tour and have only had the best food. This tour fulfilled our foodie bucket list and more. We recommend this unequivocally. Melbourne’s food scene is up there with any European city, any African country or North American locale. The tour and tour guide steered us to some of the best food we’ve ever had.

Martina, as a native Melburnian, is able to both ‘walk the walk and talk the talk’. We spent a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon learning about the eclectic history of this wonderful city, in addition to experiencing the delicious and varied cuisine that Melbourne has to offer. We could never have hoped to accomplish this experience of Melbourne, without Martina.

The host Mariana is lovely. She knows a lot about Melbourne and the food scene. I have been living in Melbourne for 8 years and still I was surprised by the places we visit on this food tour. I would recommend it to anyone who is visiting from another city as well as to the locals.

This Tour was fabulous!! I so enjoyed the various fascinating areas of the city I had not known existed and I live in Melbourne!! Food was delicious and there was plenty of it, especially liked the soft shell crab wrap and homemade mayonnaise which complemented the crab to perfection at Lucy Liu, and the food at the Peruvian restaurant Pastuso ... So Yum!! ... and not to mention Peru's national drink the Pisco Sour... awesome!! Would not hesitate in recommending this tour!

Sandra was an excellent guide. Great knowledge of Melbourne and things to do for day trips. That said this was a foodie tour. The prearranged restaurants lacked Australian flavor. There were two Pan Asians and a Spanish Tapas restaurant along with a gelato stand and a chocolate store which was the most Australian food thing on the tour.
Sandra covered a lot of ground from the Southbank meeting place to the Parliament. She offered great stories and knowledge.

Hi there Lori. Thank you so much for taking the time to write to us. We are thrilled you enjoyed spending time with Sandra - she is certainly very passionate - and a wealth of knowledge of all things Melbourne. Our tour is all about getting to know Melbourne, our eclectic multicultural community, and rich history - all through the lens of sampling delicious Melbourne 'bucket list' bites:) However saying this... if you are still visiting Melbourne, I would be delighted to send you a few additional 'Australian' options you may like to experience. Thank you once again Lori, much appreciated.

Martina was personable and very knowledgeable. The restaurants we visited were not only delicious but places we chose to dine again during the rest of our stay. The portions were more than adequate. We enjoyed the small group atmosphere of this tour and highly recommend it!!

We had a wonderful tour with Colleen. She’s lived in Melbourne for many years and shared lots of interesting tidbits about the city and culture during the tour. We had the opportunity to try a wide range of food (desserts, Spanish, Argentinian and Asian fusion). Each of the dishes were unique and delicious. Great way to spend a day and familiarize yourself with the city.

Started with a couple of samples in a chocolate shop in the lanes, followed by a couple of delicious tapas dishes at a Spanish restaurant (enjoyed so much we went back later in the week for lunch), then on to a Chinese restaurant where we had two more delicious dishes. Final restaurant was a Peruvian one with two.more dishes, nice but not nearly as special as the first two restaurants. Finished off the tour with an ice cream. Tour guide was very informative and we saw a lot of very interesting sights that we would not have experienced on our own. Overall a really good tour.

Is this tour wheelchair accessible? Thanks!!
Written 17 June 2019
Some of the restaurants we visited had steps, but I think if you contact the company in advance, they can tell you if they’d be willing to modify visits to ensure accessibility.
Written 17 June 2019
Absolutely possible in my opinion. May even have some maxi taxis all organised. I do believe that the Tour is usually no more than 12 guests but possibly the hosts would be happy to oblige otherwise.
So very much part of the 'real' Melbourne feel with so much history and uniqueness and not just a usual 'tourist gig' ! Personalised and definitely a great different experience for walking groups / individuals, Definitely will require a minimum of 4 hours to enjoy this Tour and all the tastings and wonderful history revealed by the top hosts. Hope it is included for the cruise boats. Makes top enjoyable sense!

Is there an evening version of this tour? We're looking for a multi restaurant dinner tour but not finding on Trip Advisor.
